I was in a parking mode and was leaving the parking lot. I reversed my car lo leave, and the car went out of control and was not until it crashed on two other parked cars that came to a stop. Then, After reversing my car, when trying to put it into drive, it would not move. When I tried to turn it off, the engine (re) started again and it worked so I could clear the path for other cars and wait until the police came. I had major maintenance at Acura Hopkins 2 and 3 years ago, I had a new steering pump and hoses changed 5 months ago and new front and rear brakes 3 months ago. Many people who are familiar with cars tell me that it was probably the rings. I don't know it may be the transmission? There was a police report as there were two other cars involved and both with severe damages. State Farm considered my car totaled despite the large amount of money spent to bring this car to almost new condition.
I EXPERIENCED A TERRIFYING EVENT OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I WAS PULLING INTO A CHURCH PARKING LOT YESTERDAY MORNING AND HAD ALMOST COME TO A FULL STOP WHEN SUDDENLY THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE CAR TOOK OFF (A WITNESS SAID THE HORN BEEPED AS IT HAPPENED; I DON'T REMEMBER, I WAS SO BUSY TRYING TO CONTROL THE CAR AND THE ENGINE WAS LOUD, LIKE A TEEN-AGER IN A DRAG RACE). I KEPT BRAKING AND TURNED THE WHEEL SHARPLY TO AVOID HITTING THE FENCE IN FRONT OF ME BUT COULDN'T GET IT TO STOP. IT WAS LIKE IT WAS DEMON-POSSESSED. I HIT A GLANCING BLOW TO A TRANSFORMER AND A TREE AND HIT TWO BACKYARD FENCES. A METAL POLE OF THE FENCE GOT CAUGHT IN THE RIGHT TIRE AND I STOPPED BEFORE GOING INTO A SWIMMING POOL. THE ENGINE QUIETED DOWN SOMEWHAT SIMULTANEOUSLY. I'M NOT SURE YET WHETHER IT HAPPENED BECAUSE OF SOMETHING INSTALLED IN THE CAR ORIGINALLY AS IT HAS NOT YET BEEN INVESTIGATED BY OUR INSURANCE COMPANY BUT WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY RECENT REPAIR TO THE ACCELERATOR OR HAD ANY SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR BEFORE THIS. *TR
A LOUD RUMBLING NOISE WAS HEARD AT 2000 RPMS. *AK THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIME, HOWEVER THEY PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. *NM
