I was driving down the highway today at 70 mph and all the lights illuminated on my MDX. It began to struggle to keep speed and eventually shut down once I was on the service road. I was extremely scared and nervous that I was going to be involved in an accident or the car was going to blow up as it started bouncing up and down while I was still on the highway.

The auto start/stop feature of the vehicle activated on the exit ramp of a highway, it did NOT restart the car but disabled all use and automatically shifted to neutral and would not power down, shift into another gear, or do anything. My wife had our children in the car during a high traffic time of day and my vehicle was disabled for approximately 5 minutes. Other cars exiting the highway at a high rate of speed had to go around my vehicle to continue. This is the second occurrence like this and previous “repairs” was the dealership just replacing the battery. This is the second time my family has been put at risk. The vehicle is available for inspection and there is a call in to the local dealership who has nobody available to speak with me until Monday.
The contact owns a 2019 Acura MDX. The contact stated while driving or while the vehicle was parked, during inclement weather, there was water seeping through the sunroof of the vehicle. The floor in the front of the vehicle had been accumulating water. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while his wife was traveling on Interstate 75 and driving 85 MPH, the vehicle independently slowed down, failed to accelerate, and shut off. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
I have three recalls on my vehicle. I am trying to get them serviced and the Acura dealership is stating that they do not know when they can service the fuel pump because they haven't created/issued any parts. They will not let me book to service/fix the connector rod bearing before August. I am concerned with the safety of my vehicle due to these recalls and not being able to get them fixed ASAP.
I have been trying to address the open recall with the dealership I purchased the car from. Bernardi Acura of Boston. They scheduled the original appointment 4 weeks out and then the day before, they call to reschedule another 8 weeks later. The mechanic stated the repair should be done ASAP as it is a safety issue. I have been trying to get feedback whether the car is safe to drive and why they are pushing out the appointment, but I have not been given a response. I opened a complaint with Acura and the GM of the dealership.
MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE BRAKE COLLISION SENOR ACTIVATES WITHOUT AN OBSTACLE IN SITE. THE CAR WOULD SPONTANEOUSLY BRAKE AS THE WARNING SENSOR FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD. NO RESULTING CRASH, BUT A FEW CLOSE INCIDENTS.
In March, I made an appointment at Lehigh Valley Acura in Emmaus, PA 18049, to address NHTSA Recall Number 23V-751 on my 2019 Acura MDX. When I got to the appointment on [XXX], the service technician told me that American Honda will only send parts for recall-related repairs for cases where the "vehicle is showing evidence of the connecting rod bearing defect." Since the evidence of the defect is that the car could "stall while driving," I believe this sounds like a defect that should be addressed immediately. I called American Honda on [XXX], and was told that they don't have sufficient parts to fix all the vehicles covered by the recall. The person I spoke to said that we would get a letter in the mail when it is our turn. I believe this is negligence on the part of American Honda and Lehigh Valley Acura. How do I get this defect addressed immediately? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2 Issues: Transmission shifts hard between 35-50mph and 50-60mph. Dealership accused me of utilizing improper gas which is not factual; this car has only received the recommended premium octane gas since I purchased it as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. Recall: vehicle is currently under crank shaft recall. In the original notification, Acura stated parts would be available in April. Per the Acura dealer, Acura told them parts will not be available until October. This timeline is unacceptable for such a serious safety recall (risk of fire/crash). I feel unsafe driving this car and am worried I will not get fair market value with the recall still open.
Forward Collision Mitigation braking randomly activates and slams on the brakes despite no cars/obstacles/items in front of it. I have luckily not been rear-ended, but I've had several close calls when driving in traffic (car noses dipping behind me). The dealership has so far been unable to replicate this issue and stated that unless they can replicate there is nothing they can/will do to fix the issue.
Problems may occur intermittently, including during engine startup and while driving, with warning messages appearing on the dashboard: Auto High-Beam Problem, Road departure mitigation sysem problem,, Collsion mitigation system problem, Lane keeping assist problem and Adaptive cruise control problem. All of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems can't be used.

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Infotainment system randomly becomes unresponsive and the screens will go black. The dealership stated that my phone was causing the issue. This is not true as the issue has happened when my phone is not in the car, phone is in the car/connected via bluetooth, in the car/connected via apple carplay (wired connection). This could be dangerous during the summer as these screens control the temperature controls and some of the safety systems.

The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 98,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
While driving the vehicle at highway speeds the accelerator pedal became unresponsive. Additional force on the pedal pushed it to the floor with no response from the engine. After letting off the pedal while trying to pull the vehicle over to a safe location along the road, a press on the pedal from fully released, caused the engine to rev up and propel the vehicle again. This has happened 3 times but is very random, and not easily reproducible. It is a very unsafe condition when it does happen as the vehicle loses speed, and the driver no longer has speed control!
After driving for an extended timeframe (approximately 3 hours, trip was traveling between Des Moines, Iowa and Kansas City, Missouri) at Highway/interstate speeds, upon slowing down from those speeds, the vehicle goes into limp mode and check engine light begins blinking. After pulling over and turning car off and on again, normal behavior resumes. This has happened both as I arrived in the Kansas City area, and upon my return home to the Des Moines area. Depending on circumstances for when vehicle enters limp mode, there’s a significant risk of causing an accident. Dealer was unable to pull any codes and therefore is unwilling/unable to address the issue.
Unknown, manufacturer says can’t be fixed. It MOST certainly can be fixed! They just don’t want to do it.

Factory wheels on Acura MDX cracking at low mileage under normal driving conditions. Structural failure concern.
The contact owns a 2019 Acura MDX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V256000 (Exterior Lighting). The dealer was made aware of the issue, but the service manager initially refused to perform the recall repair free of charge due to the vehicle's salvage title. However, after the contact threatened to report the dealer, the dealer complied and repaired the vehicle free of charge under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V256000 (Exterior Lighting). The manufacturer was made aware of the issue with the dealer. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Received a recall notice Feb 2024. It is now 9 months later and manufacturer has said they have NO ETA when parts will be available after multiple calls. They are vague with the issues. Told if I think I have the issue, I can bring my car in for diagnosis. If they don't find the problem I have to continue to wait AND they will charge a diagnostics fee for troubleshooting. I am concerned I have an unreliable vehicle that could fail at any time. I think 9 months is more than reasonable to have a recall fixed and replacement parts manufactured.

I was yielding to make a left hand turn , in the middle of the intersection, and my car turned off and wouldn’t turn back on. In addition the car occasionally jerks as I’m driving almost like if it changes gear. Sometimes I can’t get the car in park position I have to press the button multiple times. The recall going on right now can cause a fire crash or injury and they cannot replace the parts until April 2024 and I don’t feel safe driving my car.

The contact stated while her nephew was driving at an undisclosed speed, he noticed smoke coming from the front and rear of the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The contact’s nephew pulled off the road to lift the hood of the vehicle where he saw flames. The Fire and Police Department arrived at the scene however, the fire had already been extinguished. The contact was unaware if a Police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the nephew’s residence where the Insurance Adjustor took pictures of the damages. The vehicle was towed to Mack's Automotive but due to the extensive damage, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed by Mack's Automotive that the rod went through the engine causing the oil to leak which caused the engine to catch on fire. The vehicle was towed back to the nephew’s residence and remained unrepaired due to the cost and because the Insurance provider declined to pay to repair the vehicle because it was deemed a mechanical failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a claim; however, the contact had not spoken with the manufacturer personally. The failure mileage was unknown.
