I was told by a mechanic that this 2006 Acura TL I bought from Joe's Garage here In Clovis Ca was a car I do not want to be driving. Now when purchased from Joe's Garage he stated he put engine didn't say new or used, He also said the car was practically brand new because previous owner was a high school kid who assume he cracked his radiator and was not the problem, but the kid bought a new car and left Acura there since. Since the purchased I had nothing, but engine problems told Joe never responded I did my own research come to find out Joe's business licensed was suspended and that where he got my car Acura to pass smog of course was a smog business already being investigated for passing car illegally. So I took my Acura to Acura dealer here In Fresno Ca I was told all motor mounts were cracked so they replaced all motor mounts and installed used motor charging me $7,000 at that time I was in the process of suing Joe's Garage however since I have had no car emotionally distress because I paid $2700 for Acura trusting this business man come to find out its Salvaged vehicle now you can understand how frustrated I am not including the losses in my life back to back not been able to just mourn rest etc because of cruel business companies intentions. I'm not asking for much all I want is for you to give Acura Dealer here in Fresno ca the ok to make sure my car is or passed the safety and drivable test making sure everything on car is safe to drive at no cost to me. I have grandkids who are my world and I need to have a good reliable car for them Nathan here at Acura Dealer called me yesterday asking me if I had money, I said no I will file my taxes and see but I honestly feel and would appreciate your help on closing the two companies for good and release my car to me at no cost.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 ACURA TL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VEER TO THE LEFT. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 ACURA TL. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER BALL JOINTS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11E022000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT) BUT THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
WITH NO PRIOR WARNING, NO INDICATIONS OF ANY PROBLEMS AND AT SPEED 2006 ACURA TL WITH 43K MILES EXPERIENCED LOWER CONTROL ARM FAILURE, RIGHT FRONT. THE FAILURE CAUSED WHEEL TO BECOME DISCONNECTED WHICH BROKE AXLE AND BRAKE LINE. WITH NO ABILITY TO STEER, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CONCRETE, CENTER BARRIER. AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND AUTO GROUND AGAINST CONCRETE TO COME TO A STOP. ACURA INDICATES THAT THIS WILL NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY AS IT IS CAUSED BY A SEVERE IMPACT. THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A 2" CHANGE IN ELEVATION OF THE PAVEMENT. *TR
2006 ACURA TL A VIBRATION OCCURS PRIMARILY BETWEEN THE SPEEDS OF 48-58 MPH. THE VIBRATION IS FELT IN THE FLOOR, SEAT, AND STEERING WHEEL. IT IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN THE CAR IS COLD (AFTER ABOUT 3-4 HOURS AFTER RUNNING). IT SEEMS TO GO AWAY AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE TIRE RELATED. I HAVE TALKED TO A NUMBER OF TL OWNERS AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. ACURA STATES IT IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CAR AND IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. HOWEVER, ACURA HAS NOT PROVIDED WHAT THE SPECIFICATIONS ARE, HOW THEY ARE MEASURED, AND WHAT MY MEASUREMENTS ARE. THE DEALER SALES MANAGER STATED TO ME THAT "YEAH, ACURA HAS A PROBLEM THERE". I DID NOT NOTICE IT RIGHT AWAY AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR THINKING I WAS ON A BAD ROAD OR THE TIRE WAS OUT OF BALANCE. IT IS NOT AT ALL SPEEDS AND NOT AT ALL TIMES. IT IS AN IRRITATING VIBRATION. I ASKED THE DEALER TO FIX IT OR BUY THE CAR BACK BUT THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM STATING IT IS CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CAR. *JB
AT AROUND 8,000 MILES, I HIT A CURB HARD ENOUGH TO BEND THE WHEEL OF MY 2006 ACURA. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WHEEL AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. 3 MONTHS AND 3,000 MILES LATER, THE WHEEL CAME OFF THE AXEL. FORTUNATELY I WAS GOING AROUND 5 MILES PER HOUR HEADED TO A STOP SIGN WHEN IT HAPPENED, OTHERWISE, IT COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL INCIDENT. THE BOLT THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM WAS COMPLETELY SEVERED. THERE ARE MARKS ACROSS IT THAT SHOW THE WEAR ON THE BOLT OVER THE 3,000 MILES. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT HITTING THE CURB HAS CAUSED THE BOLT TO BE DAMAGED AND THAT THEY HAD SEEN IT IN ONE OTHER ACURA THAT HAD A SIMILAR SITUATION. I HAVE A SERIOUS CONCERN THAT EITHER THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM OR THE METAL USED TO MAKE THE BOLT IS SUBSTANDARD. HAD I BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE, THE RESULT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFERENT. *NM
