INCIDENT HAPPENED ON THE DAY SHOWN ABOVE I WAS RUNNING ERRANDS CAR WAS WORKING WELL THROUGH OUT THE DAY IT WAS WHEN I WENT TO PICK MY HUSBAND UP FROM WORK I STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION WHEN TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED GREEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THAT'S WHEN IT STARTED CHUGGING AND CHOKING AND DID NOT WANT TO GO MORE THAN 30MPH AND SUDDENLY IT JUST SHUT DOWN WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN WE TRIED TURNING ON THE CAR AGAIN IT FELT HEAVY AND SLUGGISH FAILED TO START. LEFT CAR OVER NIGHT LOCKED AND ALARM ON WE ALWAYS PUMP 91 CHEVRON GASOLINE AND KEEP UP WITH 5K OIL CHANGES HIRED A INDY MECHANIC AND INSTANTLY NOTICE THE FUEL PUMP WAS NOT ACTIVATING PLEASE HELP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 AUDI A4. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH DOWNHILL, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS IN PRODUCTION TWO MONTHS PRIOR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V157000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY) BEING ISSUED; THEREFORE, HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 80,000.
THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 8 TIMES FOR MISFIRING OF THE FUEL INJECTORS. NOT ONE ATTEMPT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL AT SOLVING THE PROBLEM. ON ONE OCCASION, THE CAR ACCELERATED BY ITSELF. ON ANOTHER, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN AFTER THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE CAR. ON ANOTHER, THE CAR REPROGRAMMED THE KEYS AND WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO START THE CAR. ON TWO OCCASIONS THE CAR'S ENGINE STOPPED WHILE PUTTING THE CAR INTO REVERSE. AUDI IN MIAMI, FL AND IN ALEXANDRIA, VA HAVE FAILED TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THESE PROBLEMS AND HAVE "NEVER HEARD" OF SUCH COMPLAINTS. DESPITE THESE PROBLEMS, AUDI CONSUMER RELATIONS REFUSES TO REPLACE THE CAR AND THEREFORE, I AM FORCED TO FILE UNDER FLORIDA LEMON LAW. THIS IS A DISGRACE ON BEHALF OF AUDI AND BECAUSE OF THESE PROBLEMS AND AUDI ON THE CORPORATE LEVEL, I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER AUDI NOR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY ELSE. *JB
GAS GAUGE FAILED. ENGINE DIED ON FREEWAY DUE TO FUEL TANK BEING EMPTY; AT THE TIME, GAUGE SHOWED TANK WAS 1/2 FULL. DEALER REPLACED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, BUT PROBLEM REMAINS.
