THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE TWO MANUFACTURERS RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURES. TAMARA AIRBAGS. MY CAR HAS BOTH AIRBAG LIGHTS ON AND THERE IS NO RECALL ON IT AT ALL AND IT HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AT ALL. I RECEIVED A WARRANTY EXTENSION BUT WITH CONDITIONS. CONDITIONS WERE IF IT'S NOT THE PARTICULAR FAULT THEY WILL CHARGE ME $200 JUST FOR A SCAN. AND THEN SOME MORE TO ACTUALLY FIX THE ISSUE. I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE IT IN DUE TO THAT ISSUE. I DON'T HAVE $200 TO GIVE UP LIKE THAT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 330XI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BOLT THAT HOLDS THE CONTROL ARM DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON FOUR OCCASIONS FOR THE CONTROL ARM FAILURE HOWEVER THE FAILURE REOCCURED ALL FOUR TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
I HAD BOTH AIR BAGS REPLACED UNDER THE TAKATA RECALL AND NOW I'M GETTING A "PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION" ERROR ON MY DISPLAY. THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V384000 THAT IS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND FOR MY MODEL AND YEAR BUT THE VIN IS NOT SHOWING THAT RECALL. THE ERROR HAPPENED JUST WHEN THE CAR WAS STARTED AND IT SHOWS WHETHER SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER WITH THE SEATBELT ON OR IF THE SEAT IS EMPTY. I AM WORRIED THAT THE AIRBAG WON'T DEPLOY IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS WOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AS WELL FOR A SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE CALLED BMW AND WAS TOLD THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED EITHER. *TR
I HAVE RECEIVED A SENSOR LIGHT STATING THAT I HAVE A PASSENGER RESTRAINT MALFUNCTION. THEN IT GOES AWAY AFTER A FEW DAYS UNTIL SOMEONE ELSE SITS DOWN WHICH WOULD LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT HAS TO DO WITH THE PRESSURE SENSOR MAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE READ THAT THIS HAPPENS TO BE A RECALL FOR BMW BUT MY VIN APPARENTLY IS NOT COVERED IN THE RECALL. I AM EXTENDING THIS COMPLAINT IN THE HOPES THAT BMW WILL INVESTIGATE AND EXTEND THE RECALL TO MORE MODELS WITH THIS ISSUE. *TR
DOOR ACTUATORS/LOCKING MECHANISMS ARE UNRESPONSIVE TO REMOTE CONTROL. UNABLE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE VEHICLE FROM THE OUTSIDE, NOR IS IT POSSIBLE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE VEHICLE FROM THE INSIDE.
THIS PAST WEEK A YELLOW PADLOCK POPPED UP ON MY DASHBOARD WHEN I WENT TO START MY CAR. UPON FUTURE RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IT IS A FAULT WITH THE ELECTRIC WHEEL LOCK. I HAVE YET TO FIND OUT WHAT THE ROUTE CAUSE YET BUT FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN, THIS ISSUE IS WIDE SPREAD AND MANY CASES LEAD TO THE CAR NOT STARTING OR THE WHEELS LOCKING UP. THIS COULD COST UPWARDS OF $1500 TO REPLACE THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN. I AM AFRAID IF THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN, IT COULD NOT ONLY PREVENT MY CAR FROM STARTING (AS IT HAS WITH MANY OTHER CASES), BUT COULD CAUSE MY STEERING TO LOCK UP WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS IS SOMETHING I CAN BARELY AFFORD TO FIX, BUT ABSOLUTELY CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. *TR
LEFT BLINKER REPEATEDLY KEEPS NOT WORKING, HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED NUMEROUS TIMES AND IT KEEPS NOT WORKING?
MY CAR IS OPTIONED WITH POWER, SPORT SEATS AND CURRENTLY HAS 126,969 MILES. FOR OVER THE LAST 2K MILES THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND STAYED ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS INDICATES TO ME THAT MY AIRBAGS WILL NO LONGER FUNCTION IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THERE ARE OPEN RECALLS FOR THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR OF BMW YET INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, MY CAR AND MANY OTHERS THAT EXHIBIT THIS SIMILAR ISSUE REMAIN EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED BMW AND THEY SAY I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. MY CAR WAS NEVER IN A CRASH AND THE AIRBAGS HAVE NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED. THERE ARE MANY POINTS OF FAILURE IN ANY CAR ALONG WITH BMWS THAT I EXPECT AND HAVE NO PROBLEM PAYING FOR. SAFETY ISSUES RELATING TO FAULTY AIRBAGS, MODULES, OR THEIR WIRING IS ONE THAT BMW SHOULD ALWAYS COVER. I FIND BMW'S RESPONSE COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND I REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION BE STARTED ON BEHALF OF THE MANY BMW DRIVERS WITH A SIMILAR VEHICLE AND FAULTY AIRBAGS AS MINE WHO BRAVE THE ROADS DAILY CONFIDENT IN THEIR VEHICLE'S ABILITY TO PROTECT THEM. UPON RECEIVING A SAFETY RECALL FOR BOTH AIRBAGS BACK IN NOVEMBER 2016, I HAVE REQUESTED REPEATEDLY TO MY LOCAL DEALER (BMW OF ATLANTIC CITY) TO REMEDY THIS FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. AT FIRST I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CONTACTED ONCE THE PARTS ARRIVED. THEN, AND AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING I CALLED BACK AND GOT THE SAME RESPONSE. I CALLED THEIR MAIN OFFICE AT THAT POINT AND GOT THE SAME LINE FROM THEM. FINALLY I EMAIL THEM EARLY JANUARY AND MONTH HAS PASSED WITH NO REPLY.... PLEASE ADVISE ON HOW TO REPLACE MY FAULTY AIRBAGS....THANK YOU...JOHN
RECEIVED NOTICE 11/14/2016 REGARDING RECALL # 15V-318 DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG. CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER 11/18 WHO SAID PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL YEAR END. BMW'S 800 NUMBER CONFIRMED THERE WAS A SHORTAGE OF PARTS IN THE REGION. THIS IS AT LEAST A 6 WEEK DELAY BASED ON PART AVAILABILITY. UNACCEPTABLE
THE FUSES FOR THE DOOR LOCKS BLEW FOR SOME REASON WHICH MADE THE PASSENGER FRONT AND REAR DOORS INOPERATIBLE BASICALLY TRAPPING PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. THE DOORS WOULD NOT UNLOCK USING THE MAIN DOOR LOCK OR PULLING THE DOOR HANDLE ONCE TO UNLOCK AND TWICE TOO OPEN AND EXIT THE CAR.
PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM FAULT. RECEIVED WARNING MESSAGE WHEN PASSENGER SITS IN FRONT SEAT. LIGHT STAYS ON MOST OF TIME.
FRONT SEAT PASSENGER OCCUPANT PROTECTION MAT FAILED. AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. AIR BAG FAULTS WERE SHOWN ON THE DASHBOARD AND INFORMATION CENTER. RECALL CAMPAIGN - 08V384000 WAS ISSUED BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED. RECALL CAMPAIGN SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO OTHER MODELS IN THIS YEAR.
ENGINE BOLTS - ALUMINUM BOLT HEADS WERE FOUND BY MECHANIC IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT. ALTHOUGH MECHANIC HAS STATED THIS DOES NOT POSE SAFETY RISK, SEEMS NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS WITH A BMW 3 SERIES 2006 HAVE EXPERIENCED THE ALUMINUM BOLT SHEERING OFF ISSUE.
WAS HAVING A SERIES OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND CODES POP UP AND MY VEHICLE. INCLUDING THE AIRBAG LIGHT ALUMINATE. I POPPED THE TRUNK TO FIND THE BATTERY TERMINAL MELTED. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE MECHANIC AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON BATTERY TERMINALS. ALTHOUGH THE RECALL IF SHE FROM CARS 2007 TO 2011 MY 2006 BMW EXHIBITS THE EXACT PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE READ ABOUT.
PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR TOGGLES BETWEEN ACTIVE AND INACTIVE REGARDLESS OF WEIGHT, OR PRESENCE OF AN INDIVIDUAL ON THE SEAT... WITH A PASSENGER ON IT, IT WILL ALSO TOGGLE BETWEEN ACTIVE/INACTIVE REGARDLESS OF THE WEIGHT OF THE PERSON (EVEN AN ADULT PASSENGER WILL DISABLE PASSENGER AIRBAG).. SEEMS TO BE HISTORICAL EVIDENCE OF THIS FAILURE AND YET RECALL IS NOT ACTIVE. THERE IS NO CERTAINTY AT THIS MOMENT IF AIRBAG WILL BE OPERATIONAL IN A CRASH.
DESPITE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NATSA) RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V-384 AND PE14-016 REGARDING A DANGEROUS AIRBAG FRONTAL ISSUE ON BMW/3 SERIES/2006, I WAS REFUSED TO HAVE THIS DANGEROUS SAFETY ITEM PARTS FIXED/REPLACED BY BMW OF SAN ANTONIO WITH A REASON 'ISSUE IS CAUSED BY A HUMID/MOISTURE CONDITION'. THIS RECALL NHTSA ENGINEERING'S ANALYSIS, EA08-001 CONCLUDED A DEFECT, AND YET, I WAS GIVEN A RESPONSE THAT A MOISTURIZE CONDITION HAD AFFECTED IT AND HENCE, BMW OF SAN ANTONIO WOULD NOT GET REIMBURSED BY BMW SO THEY WILL NOT SERVICE THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
LEAKING FUEL BY THE FUEL TANK.
CYLINDER HEAD GASKET IS LEAKING OIL DUE TO FAULTY BROKEN ALLUMINUM BOLT. THREE BOLTS ON THE FORWARD RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE IS BROKEN MAYBE DUE TO ENGINE STRESS. OIL IS LEAKING TO THE EXHAUST AND I'M AFRAID IT WILL CAUSE FIRE. I READ IN THE FUROM WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. BMW SHOULD MAKE A RECALL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED LOCAL PACIFIC BMW DEALER LOCATED ON 800S BRAND BLVD, GLENDALE, CA, 91204 WHERE HE HAD AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO BE SERVICED FOR THE RECALL HOWEVER, THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY HAD THE WRONG PART AVAILABLE AND WOULD NOTIFY HIM WHEN THE CORRECT PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT LAST REACHED OUT TO THE DEALER AT 818-246-5600 TWO MONTHS AGO WHEN THEY INFORMED HIM THAT PARTS WERE NOT MADE AVAILABLE AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL HIM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THIS BMW HAD A RECALL, WE BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A DEALER SHIP MARCH 2016, SEATBELT AND AIR BAG LIGHT JUST CAME ON. BMW SHOULD CHECK THIS OUT AT NO COST AND THE RECALL SHOULD NOT BE CLOSED OR THERE SHOULD BE AN EXCEPTION WHEN YOU BUY A USED BMW. IT'S A HAZARD IF THE AIR BAG DOES NOT DEPLOY OR THE SEATBELT DOES NOT WORK

GETTING ERROR ON DASH THAT PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION.
THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG SEAT OCCUPANCY SENSOR MAT HAS FAILED AND GIVING AN AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ALONG WITH PASS AIR BAG OFF LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY ON. BMW CLAIMS THAT MY VEHICLE HAD A LIMITED WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR 10 YEARS FROM BUILD DATE, BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY SUCH NOTIFICATION ALTHOUGH I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND ALSO LIVED AT THE SAME ADDRESS. BMW WILL NOT APPROVE A WARRANTY REPAIR AS THEY SAID THE 10 YEAR PERIOD EXPIRED IN 2015. THE FAILURE OF THIS SENSOR COULD CAUSE THE AIR BAGS TO NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A FRONT END CRASH.
TAKATA RECALL- MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON- I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ALMOST 1 YEAR FOR MY AIRBAG TO BE REPLACED. I KEEP GETTING TOLD THAT THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. THE DEALER NAME: RALPH SCHOMP BMW 1190 PLUM VALLEY LN HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO 80129 1-888-205-2938
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 325XI. WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ACTIVATED, SMOKE FILLED THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. FLAMES APPEARED AND THE VEHICLE EXPLODED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND FILED A REPORT. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED BURNS TO THE HAND, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

TAKATA RECALL. CONCERNING NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 15V318. VEHICLE BMW 330CI 2006 DRIVER'S FRONT AIR BAG. ON JUNE 17, 2015 I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO THE BMW DEALERSHIP, JACKIE COOPER BMW IN EDMOND, OK, PHONE NUMBER (405) 755-3600 AND THEY REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG PURSUANT TO BMW RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V-428. HOWEVER, AT THAT TIME THEY SAID "WE DON'T HAVE THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT AIR BAG. AS OF AUGUST 2, 2016, THIS DEALERSHIP (A BMW DEALERSHIP) IS STILL TELLING ME "WE DON'T HAVE THE DRIVER'S FRONT AIR BAG AND DON'T KNOW WHEN WE CAN GET IT. SORRY." THEY ARE OFFERING NO FURTHER EXPLANATION OR REFERRAL TO ANOTHER SOURCE TO GET THIS AIR BAG REPLACED. I HAVE UPLOADED A COPY OF MY REGISTRATION.
PASSENGER SEAT MAT IS EXPERIENCING MULTIPLE FAILURES WHICH DISABLES AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. THE EXACT ISSUE FOR MY YEAR, MODEL, AND OPTIONS AUTOMOBILE HAS BEEN RECALLED, YET MY 2006 BMW 325I WITH SPORT SEATS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECAL LISTED BELOW. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V384000 I BELIEVE THAT MY VIN SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE ABOVE NHTSA CAMPAIGN RECALL NUMBER.

I HAVE CONTACTED DEALER ADVANTAGE BMW MIDTOWN - 713-289-1200 FOR MONTHS AND THEY INDICATE THEY ARE STILL WAITING ON THE PART. MEANWHILE, I AM DRIVING AROUND IN AN UNSAFE CAR. *TR

TOWARDS THE END OF THAT YEAR, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, FLASHED ON AND OFF, AND CURRENTLY REMAINED LIT WITH A RED WARNING INDICATOR. THE DEALER (COMPETITION BMW OF SMITHTOWN, 599 MIDDLE COUNTRY RD, ST JAMES, NY 11780, (888) 861-6280) AND THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY AIR BAG RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNT A HOLE FROM BOTTOM UP, TOOK TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT WAS FROM THE AIRBAG SENSOR THAT CAUGHT IT FIRE, I WAS GETTING HAIR DONE AT6 PM IN EVENING, CAME OUT I HOUR LATER AND SMELT FIRE, LOOKED AND THERE WAS HOLE IN SEAT, TURNED ON AIR AND ROLLED DOWN WINDOWS, WAIVED A MAGAZINE OVER IT AND MADE SURE IT WAS OUT. DROVE HOME ABOUT 10 MINUTES AWAY AND AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. TRIED TO CALL BMW THEY WERE CLOSED, WENT TO MY MECHANIC NEXT MORNING HE TOLD ME IT WAS FAULTY TO CALL BMW, I CALLED BMW PLAZA AND THEY TOLD ME TOUGH THEY WOULDNT DO ANYTHING. I HATED THE HOLE SO WENT TO AUTOZONE TO GET SOMETHING TO REPAIR IT WHICH MADE IT LOOK WORSE...BEEN LOOKING ON LINE FOR SEATS VERY EXPENSIVE. MY BOSS TOLD ME AS WELL THAT SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO ATTORNEY GENERAL WHICH I MESSAGED FROM MISSOURI AND US ATTORNEY GENERAL. THIS COULD OF BEEN WORSE, IF I WOULD OF BEEN LONGER ARRIVING TO MY CAR IT COULD OF CAUGHT FIRE POSSIBLY OR EVEN WORSE MY DAUGHTER COULD OF BEEN THERE AND BURNT. IF THIS WOULD OF BEEN WINTER WITH THE HEATED SEAT ON SHE COULD OF BEEN SEVERELY BURNT, MAYBE DEAD. THIS SHOULD OF NEVER HAPPENED.

ENGINE VALVE COVER GASKET LEAKING OIL AND OIL FILTER HOUSING LEAKING OIL SINCE LAST YEAR.
THERE IS A CLEAR MANUFACTURER DEFECT CONCERNING THE ALUMINUM BOLTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VALVE COVER GASKET AND CYLINDER HEAD ON THE BMW 2006 325I'S. THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION HAS RECEIVED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE ALUMINUM BOLTS HAVE BEEN REDESIGNED SINCE DISCOVERING THE MANUFACTURER DEFECT. BMWNA HAVE HAD NUMEROUS SERVICE ISSUES RELATED TO THESE DEFECTIVE ALUMINUM BOLTS. THEY HAVE ALL OPENLY ADMITTED THAT THE BOLTS IN QUESTION WERE DEFECTIVE IN NATURE AND PRODUCTION, AND THAT THE BOLTS HAVE BEEN REDESIGNED TO AVOID FUTURE FAILURES. SOME OF THESE COMPLAINTS INCLUDED, AND RESULTED IN, VEHICLES LEAKING OIL IN THE ENGINE AREA CAUSING FIRES IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEFECTIVE BOLTS POSE A SERIOUS POTENTIAL RISK TO THE SAFETY OF THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES, AS WELL AS TO OTHER DRIVERS WHO SHARE THE ROADWAY WITH THEM. IT IS MY STRONG BELIEF THAT THIS TYPE OF PUBLIC SAFETY RISK CANNOT GO ON ANY FURTHER WITHOUT PROPER INTERVENTION FROM THE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES WE EMPLOY AS TAXPAYERS. I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT BMW NORTH AMERICA ISSUE A VOLUNTARY RECALL OF THE BMW 2006 325I'S AFFECTED BY THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I AM NOT PRIVY TO WHAT CONSTITUTES A VEHICLE'S DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS TO REACH A "RECALL STATUS".I HAVE DILIGENTLY MAINTAINED MY VEHICLE AS PRESCRIBED BY THE SERVICE MANUALS, AS WELL AS THE ON BOARD COMPUTER IN THE VEHICLE. TAKATA RECALL
FIRST TIME I NOTICED THE ELV STEERING WHEEL LOCK MALFUNCTION. I JUST PARKED MY CAR, TURNED OFF ENGINE, AND TOOK OUT THE KEY FOB. I NOTICED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER A PICTURE OF A STEERING WHEEL AND A PAD LOCK. SO I PUT THE KEY FOB BACK IN THE SLOT AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START. THEN TRYING COUPLE TIMES TAKING OUT & PUTTING THE KEY FOB IN THE IGNITION SLOT AND TURNING THE WHEEL LEFT AND RIGHT, THE CAR FINALLY STARTED.
UPON TEST DRIVING ON CITY STREET THIS VEHICLE WITH A FRIEND AND MY BROTHER WE REALIZED IT HAD A HARD LIMP TO THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE. AFTER RETURNING IT TO THE LOT THE SALESMAN INFORMED US IT NEEDED A SWAY BAR REPLACE TO LEAVE IT A COUPLE DAYS AND HE WOULD HAVE IT REPAIRED. AFTER PICKING IT UP DRIVING ON THE CITY STREET I REALIZED NOT ONLY DID IT HAVE A LEAK BUT THERE WAS A NOISE INVOLVED THIS TIME. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE CAR LOT AND THEY INSTRUCTED ME THAT IT WAS ONLY A MUD FLAP RUBBING THE TIRE. AFTER TAKING IT TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC HE TOLD ME THAT MY CAR HAD BEEN IN A SEVERE ACCIDENT AND THE ENTIRE UNDER CARRIER WAS DAMAGED AND IT WAS A MIRACLE IT WAS MOBILE. QUOTED PRICE FOR PARTS 280.00 AND LABOR 2100.00. WHEN TAKING IT TO ROADSHOW BMW THEY STATED THERE WASN'T ANY RECALLS. BOTTOM LINE IS PARTS FELL FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY EXITING THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: FOG LIGHT ON PASSENGER SIDE, SMALL GRILL ON SAME SIDE, LARGE BOLT (NOT SURE WHERE IT GOES OR WHERE IT CAME FROM), AND ANOTHER PIECE OF MEDAL. AT THIS POINT OIL BEGAN TO RUN OUT.THIS CAR LEANS TO THE RIGHT NOW AND AFTER OWNING IT FOR 4.5 MONTHS IT WAS MOBILE FOR MAYBE 3 WEEKS? OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THE TRACKER STALLS THE CAR UPON OCCASIONS WHEN DRIVING. I'VE REQUESTED FOR MY TITLE VIA PHONE TWICE, VIA CERTIFIED LETTER AND FAX. I CAN PROVIDE DOCUMENTS UPON REQUEST. HOWEVER, I DON'T OWN A SCANNER BUT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO FAX IF YOU GIVE ME YOUR FAX NUMBER. I'VE PAID MY CAR BALANCE OFF WITHOUT A TITLE?

THIS ISSUE IS WITH THE PISTON RINGS OF THE BMW M54 ENGINE. IT BURNS OIL AT A CRAZY RATE AND ONLY NOW ARE PEOPLE FINALLY FIGURING OUT THAT THIS IS THE ISSUE. BMW LISTS SEVERAL OTHER FIXES FOR THE OIL BURNING ISSUE, BUT NONE OF THEM SOLVE THE PROBLEM CAUSING THE OWNER TO SEEK REPAIRS THAT DON'T SOLVE THE ISSUE. BMW STATES THAT IT IS "NORMAL" FOR THE M54 ENGINE TO BURN UP TO 1 QUART OF OIL FOR EVERY 1000 MILES. THIS ENGINE IS IN MANY DIFFERENT BMW MODELS AND MANY OWNERS ARE EFFECTED. MY CAR NOW BURNS ABOUT 1 QUART FOR EVERY 500 MILES I DRIVE.
