I HAVE THE 06 750 LI ABOUT 7 MONTHS NOW. IT HAS 106,000 MILES ON IT, EVERYTIME I PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WILL KICK BACK OUT OF DRIVE, THEN A MESSAGE WILL COME UP SAYING TRANSMISSION FAULT, THEN I WILL TURN THE CAR OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINS,THEN I WILL RESTART THE CAR IT WILL WORK AT TIMES LIKE THIS BUT,SOMETIMES IT WANT WORK LIKE THIS. I WILL HAVE TO OPEN MY TRUNK DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO RESET EVERYTHING AT TIMES THIS HELPS IT HELP TO..BUT, ANYWAYS I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO FILL THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE ITS A LOT OF RECALLS ON THE OLDER 7 SERIES ABOUT THESE TRANSMISSION PLEASE HELP ME GET ANOTHER ONE SOME KIND OF WAY THANKS.. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILS TO SWITCH GEARS AND LAGS AND BUMPS, WHEN ENTERING HIGHWAY WON'T ACCELERATE AND ALMOST WAS HIT BY ONCOMING HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A MEGA ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLY LOST MY LIFE. I HAVE READ SEVERAL HUNDRED COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND BMW HAS NOT TAKEN ANY RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
I STARTED GETTING AN ERROR ON MY I-DRIVE ABOUT A MONTH AGO STATING THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY AIR BAG/RESTRAINT SYSTEM AND FOUND THE RECALL NOTICE ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET IT REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT BMW CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, AND WAS FORCED TO PAY USING MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I ENDED UP HAVING TO PAY $260 OUT OF POCKET AFTER DEDUCTIBLE AND EXTRA CHARGES BECAUSE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY DID NOT WANT TO PAY THE HIGH HOURLY LABOR RATE OF THE DEALER. SO I HAD TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE. I TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE NHTSA SITE & THEY SAID THAT UNLESS BMW HAS IT IN THE SYSTEM SHOWING THAT IT AFFECTS MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE, IT IS NOT VALID... *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750 LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IMMEDIATELLY AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ALSO, THE PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHEN THERE WAS SOMETHING PLACED IN THE SEAT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
WHILE TRYING TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY PUT CAR IN REVERSE CAR JUMP BACK IN TO NEUTRAL , WHILE PUTTING CAR IN DRIVE LOUD CLANKING SOUND .MANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR OIL LEAKS AROUND HOUSING. *TR
TWO CONTINUOUS ISSUES: 1. WHEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE, RPM'S WOULD SHOOT UP, AND WOULD TAKE 3-10 SECONDS TO REGAIN POWER AND FOR CAR TO ACCELERATE. I KNOW THIS DOESN'T MAKE SENSE BUT THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY WHEN CAR SITS IN THE HOT SUN DURING THE DAY. DOES NOT HAPPEN DURING COOLER DAYS. 2. WHEN COMING TO A STOP SIGN THE VEHICLE MAKES A HARD JERK AND FEELS LIKE SOMEONE SLAMMING INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR - HARD. THE CAR THEN JERKS INTO GEAR. THE DSC INDICATOR LIGHT THEN FLASHES SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I RESUME NORMAL SPEED AND THEN THE LIGHT GOES OUT. I'M VERY SURPRISED THIS HASN'T CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY TO MY NECK, IT'S THAT HARD OF A JERK. I'VE HAD THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IT'S TO THE POINT WHERE I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE MY BMW FOR ANY UNNECESSARY ERRANDS AND THOUGHT I WOULD UPGRADE TO A NEWER 750LI IN THE NEAR FUTURE BUT NOT SURE IF I WANT TO PURCHASE THIS MODEL AGAIN. BMW, PLEASE STEP UP AND FIX THIS ISSUE - THERE ARE TOO MANY COMPLAINTS OUT THERE FOR THIS TO CONTINUE TO BE IGNORED. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED TO FULLY LATCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR MALFUNCTIONED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V504000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
HAD VEHICLE DIAGNOSED FOR STALLING, ROUGH IDLING, LOSS OF POWER, AND SHUTTING OFF IN TRAFFIC. FIRST BMW REPAIR FACILITY, "LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP OUTPUT, AND HIGH PRESSURE PUMPS VERIFIED VEHICLE HAS EXTENDED CRANK. READ OUT FAULT MEMORY AND FOUND NO RELATIVE FAULTS STORED. PROCEEDED TO PERFORMED LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CHECK. FOUND OUTPUT PRESSURE LOW AND AFTER VEHICLE SHUT OFF SYSTEM LEAKING BACK. PROCEEDED TO REPLACE INTAKE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL FILTER." PROBLEM WAS STILL PRESENT 3 DAYS LATER. SUBMITTED VEHICLE INTO ANOTHER REPAIR FACILITY WHERE A BMW TECHNICIAN WORKS ON WEEKENDS TO RECEIVE INFORMATION FROM THE FACILITY OWNER, THAT BMW TECHNICIAN CANNOT TOUCH MY VEHICLE. SUBMITTED VEHICLE INTO A 3RD REPAIR FACILITY TO FIND THAT BOTH HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMPS HAVE FAILED, "REPLACE BOTH HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMPS, REPLACE FUEL TANK PRESSURE LEAK DIAG PUMP." BMW REPAIR FACILITY WAS AWARE OF THIS FAULTY READING BEFORE FIXING A PART THAT WAS NOT BROKEN. THEY KNOW THEIR HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMPS ARE FAULTY. *TT

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V504000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
AIRBAG WARNING (RESTRAINT SYSTEM FAILURE) ALWAYS SHOWS UP WHEN CAR IS STARTED AND IN OPERATION. *TR
WHEN I WAS IN PARK PUT CAR IN REVERSE AND CAR WOULD NOT GO IN REVERSE WENT BACK INTO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN , SO I PUT CAR BACK IN PARK AND RETRIED AND PUT IT REVERSE SEVERAL TIMES AND WHEN THE TRANSMISSION KICKED INTO REVERSE THERE WAS A LARGE CLANK SOUND AND A JERK THAT FELT LIKE I HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND , WHEN STOPPED AT RED LIGHT TO TAKE OFF SAME THING THE CAR JERKED AGAIN . THEN TRANSMISSION FAULT LIGHT CAME ON STATED DRIVE MODERATELY, AND ANOTHER WARNING CAME ON STATING CERTAIN GEARS WERE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY . PARKED IN GARAGE AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE CAR DID THE SAME THING , VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING TO DETECT PROBLEMS . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM EMITTED WHITE SMOKE WHILE AT A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE HEAD GASKET SEAL FAILED AND CAUSED ENGINE OIL TO LEAK INTO THE PISTONS. THERE WAS ALSO ENGINE OIL LEAKING INTO THE VALVES, WHICH CAUSED PREMATURE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION THAT BELLOWED WHITE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
THE CAR TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENGAGE. IF YOU TRY TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE OR FORWARD GEAR NOTHING HAPPENS. THE GEAR GOES TO NEUTRAL AND DOES NOT LET PARKING GEAR OR ANY OTHER GEAR ANGAGE. IF GEAR STAYS IN DRIVE MOD AND WHEN YOU ARE WONDERING WHAT TO DO GEAR SUDDENLY ENGAGES ITSELF AND CAR SHOOTS ITSELF IF BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT PRESSED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO NOTIFIED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSESS THE PROBLEM FOR A WEEK BECAUSE OF BUSY SCHEDULE. THE CAR IS IN NON DEALER SHOP CURRENTLY. *TR
VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT TO NEUTRAL ON ITS ON THEN SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. IT WAS ALSO ROUGH IDLING, LOSS OF POWER, AND EXTENDED IGNITION START. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 760I. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR UNEXPECTEDLY UNLATCHED. THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH THE COMFORT ACCESS AND SOFT CLOSE AUTOMATIC OPTIONS. THE DOOR WOULD ONLY REMAIN CLOSED WHILE HOLDING WITH YOUR HAND WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 12V504000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,900. *TR

GOT INTO THE VEHICLE WITH MY PASSENGERS. WE WHERE LEAVING A WALMART WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I MADE A SHARP TURN AND MY DOOR JUST POPPED OPEN. MY PASSENGER WOULD HAVE FELL OUT OF THE CAR IF HER SEATBELT WAS NOT ON. LUCKILY I WAS NOT CLOSE TO ANY CARS OR THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A CRASH. I CONTACTED BMW ABOUT THE ISSUE BECAUSE I SAW THERE WAS A RECALL ON THAT SAME PART THAT BROKE IN MY DOOR PANEL. IN THE RECALL LETTER I READ ON YOUR SITE I SAW THAT BMW ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM, AND RECALLED VEHICLES OF MY YEAR AND MAKE BECAUSE THE DOORS WHERE POPPING OPEN OUT OF NOW WHERE. BMW TOLD ME THEY CAN'T DO NOTHING FOR ME AND TO VISIT A SERVICE CENTER WHERE I WAS QUOTED AT 1000 DOLLARS TO FIX A PROBLEM. I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY TO PAY FOR SOMETHING BMW IS A FAULT FOR AND ACKNOWLEDGED. I CURRENTLY HAVE TWO BUNGEE CORDS HOLDING MY DOOR SHUT IT STILL WONT CLOSE TO THIS DAY. MY PASSENGER COULD HAVE DIED. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I WANT THEM TO BE ACCOUNTABLE AND FIX THIS ISSUE. I AM WORRIED TO DEATH IT COULD HAPPEN TO ANOTHER DOOR WITH ANOTHER PASSENGER I WOULD UNDERSTAND IF IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR I HAVE TO GET FIXED BUT THIS IS UNSAFE AND NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE DOOR LOCKS AND PARKING BRAKE GEARS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES BUT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK AND BOTH KNEES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 2/27/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE THAT STRUCK INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS TRAVELING AT LEAST 40 MPH. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCE AN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V446000 (SERVICE BRAKES HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
I JUST CLOSED THE DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT LATCH! I HAVE SOFT CLOSE DOORS AND IT WOULD NOT WORK. IT WILL NOT LATCH WITH THE KEY AND IT WON'T WORK WITH THE INSIDE LOCK BUTTON? I HAD TO TIE THE DOOR SHUT TO GET HOME! I SEE THAT THIS IS A RECALL FOR SOME VEHICLES BUT NOT MINE? THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND VERY FRUSTRATING! I SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER MODELS LIKE MINE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY BMW ACROSS THE BOARD! *TR

WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE THE CAR LOST POWER GO FROM DURING 60MPH TO 20 MPH AND I WAS ON THE GAS, THE VEHICLE STALL OUT AND WOULD TAKE 3-10 SECONDS TO RE-GAIN ANY POWER BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD BEGIN TO ACCELERATE. ALSO ONCE COMING UP TO A STOPLIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE WOULD FEEL AS IF SOMEONE HAD SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF ME POSSIBLY JERKING INTO GEAR. SPENT COUNTLESS TIMES AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THEM GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND, REPLACING RANDOM PARTS BEFORE REPLACING THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AND STILL THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE ISSUES. NOW THE CAR IS MISFIRING AND WILL NOT START AT ALL. BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 2 MONTHS AND STILL NOT WORKING. *TR

BRAKE PEDDLE APPEAR TO RESIST DEPRESSION, AND BRAKING BECOMES DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE. THE RESISTANCE FEELS LIKE A CONTROL SYSTEM RESISTING, AND PREVENTING THE PEDDLE FROM BEING DEPRESSED. BUT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE A FAILURE OF POWER ASSIST, BUT IT FEELS LIKE A HARD, BUT SLIGHTLY SPONGY RESISTANCE, LIKE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM CLOSED A VALVE DOWN STREAM OF THE BRAKES. THE ISSUE BEGAN ABRUPTLY 5 DAYS AGO, FROM NO INDICATION AT ALL OF AN ISSUE, TO AN ABRUPT ISSUE IN FULL EFFECT. NOW IT IS CONSISTANT, AND VERY REPEATABLE. IT HAS 65,000 MILES ON IT, WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WILL KICK OUT OF DRIVE TO NEUTRAL OR WHEN I PUT IN PARK IT WILL KICK OUT OF PARK TO NEUTRAL, THEN A MESSAGE WILL COME UP SAYING TRANSMISSION FAULT, THEN I WILL TURN THE CAR OFF AND I WILL RESTART THE CAR. AFTER 2-YEARS OF LEARNING TO POWER THROUGH THE GEARS, MY BAD TRANSMISSION WORKS FINE, DRIVE SHAFT AND GUIBO JOINT ARE UNAFFECTED AND CHALK UP ANOTHER DEFECTIVE GUIBO JOINT BLAMED FOR UNNECESSARY REPAIRS.
