TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AS THE ENGINE THERMOSTAT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT TWICE UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AS THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE 83,000.
WHEN PUSHING ON THE GAS, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL, RPM'S WOULD SHOOT UP, AND WOULD TAKE 3-10 SECONDS TO RE-GAIN ANY POWER BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD BEGIN TO ACCELRATE. ALSO ONCE COMING UP TO A STOPLIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE WOULD FEEL AS IF SOMEONE HAD SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF ME POSSIBLY JERKING INTO GEAR. SPENT COUNTLESS TIMES AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THEM GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND, REPLACING RANDOM PARTS BEFORE REPLACING THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AND STILL THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE ISSUES. *TR
OCCUPANCY SENSOR / FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG SYSTEM. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF WARNING LAMP LIGHTS UP WITH A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. THIS IS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED CAR PURCHASED LATE JANUARY 2009. THIS OCCURS ABOUT 2-3 TIMES PER MONTH. SEPT 2009, AFTER MONTHS OF COMPLAINING AND HAVING THE DEALER TELL ME THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THE REPLACED THE SENSOR MAT IN THE SEAT. THIS WAS COVERED IN EA08-001 AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE THE CAR WAS OFFERED FOR SALE. LATER THAT SAME MONTH THE WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF AGAIN. *TR
OVER THE LAST 4-5 YEARS, HAVE HAD MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION RELATED ISSUES. THERE HAVE BEEN 6/7 TRANSMISSION OIL LEAKS THAT HAD TO BE FIXED AND REFIXED. 2 GUIBO JOINTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED OVER THIS TIME. OVER THE LAST YEAR AND HALF, THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE LIGHT HAS COME ON 30+ TIMES WHEN STOPPED ON THE ROAD. UPON ACCELERATING THE CAR JERKS INTO GEAR AND MOVES FORWARD. TWICE OVER THE LAST MONTH, THE CAR WAS STOPPED, ENGINE RUNNING, AND IN PARK. THE TRANSMISSION CHANGED FROM PARK TO NEUTRAL BY ITSELF JUST ABOUT CAUSING ME TO UNKNOWINGLY ROLL INTO OUR HOMES FENCE. *TR
PROBLEM WITH ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION; ON APRIL 2007 -MILEAGE 8936 WARNING -LOW OIL-AD 1.5Q. ON 29 MAY 2007-WARN LOW OIL- AD 1.5Q OIL. ON AUG 2007-WARN LOW OIL-AD 1.5 Q OIL ON DEC 2007-WARN LOW OIL-ADDED 2.5 Q OIL SEPT 30 2008-WARN LOW OIL-ADDED 1 Q OIL AT LOC DEALERSHIP. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL OIL CONSUMPTION OF THE HIGH END VEHICLE BMW SERIES 7 OR ANY OTHER HIGH END VEHICLE. SO FAR I HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN A REASONABLE EXPLANATION. DEALER SHIP (PEAKE BMW) IS ADVISING THAT NO OIL LEAKS NOTED AND OIL NOT COMING OUT TROUGH THE TAIL PIPE ? SO WHAT IS GOING ON? CAN SOMEONE AT BWM RECOGNIZE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM OR DO I HAVE TO GO BACK AND CONTACT BMW IN GERMANY AND ASK FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE. I HAVE HAD AND STILL DO ( MB S500 ,BMW 535I ETC.) AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM LIKE THIS. HAVE OTHER VEHICLES AND TRUCKS AND NEVER HAD TO ADD ANY OIL IN BETWEEN THE SERVICES. THIS IS EMBARRASSING,DRIVING $85K VEHICLE AND HAVE TO STOP AT THE GAS STATION TO FILL UP SOME OIL ??? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK VIOLENTLY AND LUNGE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,000. UPDATED 9/13/11 *CN UPDATED 09/28/11
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750. THE VEHICLE HAS A TRANSMISSION THAT SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT THE VEHICLE TO THE PARK POSITION WHEN THE START/STOP BUTTON IS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE START/STOP BUTTON AND NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL FORWARD APPROXIMATELY 2 SECONDS AFTER THE ENGINE LOST POWER. HE WAS ABLE TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THIS ALSO OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS LATER. THE CONTACT PARKED AND EXITED HIS VEHICLE, UPON HIS RETURN THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS APPROXIMATELY A HUNDRED FEET AND CRASHED INTO A LAMPPOST. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR ON BOTH OCCURRENCES AND THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A FLAT SURFACE. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED. THE DEALER STATED THEY ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,000 MILES.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A BMW 750 LI. HE LIVES ON A NEAR A CLIFF AND WHEN HE PARKS HIS VEHICLE ON AN INCLINE THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD. THIS HAPPENS CONSISTENTLY 20 SECONDS AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE AND ENGAGING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. HE FIRST NOTICED THE FAILURE, APPROXIMATELY IN FEBRUARY 2007, AFTER PARKING ON AN INCLINE. THE DEGREE OF THE INCLINE IS NOT RELEVANT TO THE FAILURE, EVEN A SLIGHT INCLINE WILL PRODUCE THE FAILURE, BUT A LARGE INCLINE WILL JOLT THE VEHICLE FORWARD MORE VIOLENTLY. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR IN THE FAILURE. HE WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEALER THAT ALL BMW 750S PERFORM IN THIS MANNER AND HE HAS THAT STATEMENT WRITTEN ON A SERVICE ORDER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22156. IF NECESSARY, PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER VIA EMAIL.
BMW 750 LI 2006. I AM THE FIST OWNER OF THIS CAR. SICNE I GOT THIS CAR IT HAS GIVEN ME MUCH PROBLEM. I HAVE OWED THIS CAR FOR A YEAR, AND HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES. THE PROBLEMS WERE NOT SOLVED. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR JERKED, AND AIR CONDITIONING ( A/C )SMELLED. THE LIGHT ALWAYS WENT ON. THERE WERE SO MANY PROBLEMS. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750 LI. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD AND FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY DRIVING UP A HILL.THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF WARNING LAMP LIGHTS UP WITH A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING INTERMITTENTLY SINCE I BOUGHT THE NEW CAR. AFTER LEARNING THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR AIRBAG FAILURE, I ASKED THE DEALER TO CHECK INTO THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER SAID THERE WASN'T A RECALL FOR MY CAR AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT CHECKED. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED, BY THE SERVICE DEALER, AFTER A BLOWOUT ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE DEALER DETERMINED THE PASSENGER STRUT WAS BENT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER FURTHER DETERMINED THE STRUT DAMAGE MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A ROAD HAZARD, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE NEVER HIT ANY OBJECT IN THE ROADWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR UNLOCKED AND OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER, SINCE THEN MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ALMOST MONTHLY FOR PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION AND STEERING. BMW WRITES ON THE YELLOW SHEET THAT THEY HAVE YOU SIGN WITH WHAT YOU TELL THEM BUT WHEN YOU GO BACK THE INVOICE THAT YOU ARE GIVEN IS DIFFERENT THAT WHAT YOU SIGNED FOR. I RECENTLY LEARNED THAT WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE INVOICE DOES NOT HAVE THE INFORMATION THAT WAS WRITTEN WHEN I WAS IN FRONT OF THE SERVICE ADVISOR. WHICH MEANS THAT WHEN YOU ARE ASKING FOR COPIES OF YOU REPAIR ORDER THE INFORMATION IS DIFFERENT THAN YOUR ORIGINAL COMPLAINT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN TRYING TO CLOSE HER RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR SHE WAS UNABLE TO SHUT IT PROPERLY WHEN THE AIR WAS VERY MOIST. WHEN THE DOOR CLOSED IT OPENED BACK UP ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO ADVISED HER THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE OR DUPLICATE IT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 9,000. UPDATE COMP CODE TO LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. *.PCO

CONSUMER COMPLAINT REGARDING DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON 2006 BMW 750LI. *TS THE CONSUMER BELIEVED BMW SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO MAKE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS A DEFAULT OPTION ON THE VEHICLE. *JB
