MY ELECTRIC AUXILLARY WATER PUMP IS BAD AND HEATS UP MY CIRCUIT BOARD....ALSO THE TIMING BOLTS ON THE CAMSHAFT ARE BAD
MOST BMW V8 ENGINES INCLUDING MY OWN (N62,N63) HAVE KNOW MAJOR FLAWS WITH VALVE STEM SEALS AND TIMING CHAINS. THESE ISSUES CAUSE CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE TO ENGINES AND EMISSIONS SYSTEM. IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE. VEHICLES END UP IMMOBILE ON THE HIGHWAY OR EMITTING EXCESIVE SMOKE AND FUMES INTO THE ATMOSPHERE. BMW HAS HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OVER THIS I DONT BELIEVE THATS ENOUGH. THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE REPAIRED
ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS MY CAR WOULD DRIVE PROBLY 80 MILES IN THE CITY AND WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION WILL START SLIPPING WHILE GOING 65 MILES AN HOUR AND ALMOST COME TO A DEAD STOP ON THE HIGHWAY ALONG WITH THAT THE BATTERY ALSO DRAINING ALL THE TIME WHILE DRIVING AND I HAVE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY ALL THE TIME.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MPH AND THE DRIVE TRAIN BLEW AND WHEN I WAS GIVING GAS THE CAR WAS NOT PULLING ... MY CYLINDERS ARE MISFIRING AND THE CAR SHAKES RIDICULOUSLY BAD
TAKATA RECALL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON DRIVETRAIN LIGHT ON
ELECTRIC WATER PUMP, I TOOK MY BMW TO THE DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE THE WATER PUMP, THEY HAVE A RECALL FOR THE 2011 AND ABOVE BUT NOT FOR THE 2009 AND MY VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS AS THE RECALL STATES
I WAS DRIVING UP I-5 , IN THE THIRD LANE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I GOT A DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION MESSAGE ON MY SCREEN I NOTICED THAT ALL ACCELERATION WAS LOST AND KNEW I MUST PULL OUT OF THE ROAD FOR AT THE SPEED ALLOWED I WAS BOUND TO GET REAR ENDED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY LIKE THIS CAR IN BACK OF ME BEGAN TO HONK AS I SIGNALED TO BE ALLOWED MOVE OUT THE ROAD CARS PROCEEDED TO JUST GO FAST AND ALMOST GOT HIT A COUPLE TIMES .
The contact owns a 2009 BMW 750LI. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, there was a loud rattling sounding coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a certificated mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the timing belt was worn and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and the contact was informed that a representative would provide a callback. The manufacturer was contacted and suggested that the vehicle be diagnosed. The failure mileage was 107,000.
MY CAR IS BMW 750 LI 2009. EVERY 40 MILES, THE OIL SHOWS DROP TO DOWN ON FULL LEVEL AT MY OIL LEVEL SCREEN, ALSO I AM ALWAYS FILL IN NEW OIL ON OIL CRANK EVERY TIME DROP IT DOWN. AND NO DRIP OR LEAKING OUTSIDE ON THE GROUND, I AM ALWAYS CHECK THE I- DRIVE OIL LEVEL ON THE SCREEN. AND THE MILES AROUND 73.000 MILES, AND ALSO I HAVE RECALL NHTSA, THAT SAY RECALL ON ENGINE AND COOLING
THE ISSUE BEGAN AS I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON THE EXPRESS WAY AND THE CAR STOPPED WHILE GOING 50MPH. IT WAS RAINING THAT DAY AND STATED I HAD A DRIVE TRAIN MALFUNCTION I THOUGHT MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE GOING TO DIE. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD THE CAR TOWED OVER 6 TIMES AND EVEN WHAT I THOUGHT WAS REPAIRED AFTER A $3400 BILL FROM A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST 15K TO REPAIR. I CURRENTLY STILL OWE 15K ON THIS CAR STILL. THIS IS REGARDING A RECALL THAT BMW WANTS TO CHARGE ME A $600 DIAGNOSTIC FEE FOR. THIS IS BEFORE DOING ANY WORK. HOWEVER THE CAMPAIGN CLAIMS IT IS FREE.THE RECALL BULLETIN WENT OUT IN 2015 FOR CARS 2009-2015. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE OF THIS RECALL I FOUND OUT MY SELF. MY CAR HAS BEEN TOWED OVER 4 TIMES. ONE SHOP HAD IT FOR 2 MONTHS AND I WAS FINALLY TOLD THAT IT NEEDS THE N63 CUSTOMER CARE PACKAGE. I DECIDED TO HAVE IT TOWED TO REEVES BMW. AFTER THE YOUNG LADY AT THE RESERVATION DESK CONFIRMED THAT THE N63 WAS A COURTESY. THE SERVICE MANAGER THEN TELLS ME THAT THEY NEED TO RUN AN HOUR DIAGNOSTIC WHICH I AGREED TO FOR $179. NOW I GET A CALL THAT THEY NEED TO RUN A $600 DIAGNOSTIC. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF BEING CHARGED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC ON A RECALL. WHEN I LOOKED UP INFORMATION ON THIS, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ON THIS ISSUE. I AM FRUSTRATED AS I HAVE ALREADY SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON THIS VEHICLE AND THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL BULLETIN. ON TOP OF THIS, I WAS TOLD I'D HEAR BACK ON MONDAY, JANUARY 22ND. I NEVER HEARD BACK. I EXPLAINED TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND SOMETIMES I AM OUT OF POCKET. A STORAGE FEE. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO BMW NORTH AMERICA AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT IN TO REEVES. THE CAR DOESN'T HAVE OVER 80K MILES ON IT AND IT HAS BEEN GIVING ME ISSUES SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED WITH ONLY 29K MILES. THE CAR WILL DIE WHILE IN MOTION AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT.
VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE HOURS AFTER IT WAS PARKED AT HOME DRIVEWAY
CAR STALLS OUT WHEN STOPPED THIS IS AFTER N93 RECALL GAS TANK IS FULL NO ONE KNOWS WHATS WRONG AFTER SITTING UP TO AN HOUR CAR STARTS WITHOUT PROBLEM. THIS HAPPEN AT LEAST FOUR TIMES
MY VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING WHILE STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS APPROXIMATELY ONCE A WEEK ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART UNTIL AFTER SITTING FOR AT LEAST 1 HOUR AND WOULD RESTART AND RUN AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. I HAD MY MECHANIC INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND THERE WERE NO CODES TO INDICATE THE PROBLEM SO HE CHANGED THE LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED 1 WEEK AFTER PUMP REPLACEMENT. MY MECHANIC SUGGESTED I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A BMW DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BMW GLOBAL IMPORTS IN ATLANTA. THEIR MECHANIC SUGGESTED I CHANGE THE BATTERY AND SPARK PLUGS. THE REP SAID THERE WERE A LOT OF LOW VOLTAGE ERRORS WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED THE STALLING. THE VEHICLE NEVER RAN ROUGH AND AND WOULD ALWAYS START EXCEPT AFTER STALLING. SO I CHANGED THE BATTERY AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING 1 HOUR AFTER INSTALLATION AND THE PROBLEM BECAME MORE FREQUENT. THE ORIGINAL BATTERY WAS TESTED AND DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. THE ORIGINAL BATTERY WAS PUT BACK IN THE VEHICLE AND NOW THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN IN 1 HOUR. MY ORIGINAL MECHANIC ALSO ATTEMPTED TO RE-FLASH OR UPDATE ALL THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE AND IT STILL STALLS. THE SCREEN ALWAYS DISPLAYS "FUEL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION" WHEN THE ERROR OCCURS. THE PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND I HAVE HEARD STORIES OF OTHER BMW OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BMW 750I. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO CHANGE GEARS AND SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN OIL LEAK AND UNKNOWN PARTS IN THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REMEMBER THE ENGINE COMPONENT THAT NEED REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT, IN ORDER TO AVOID TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE, HE WOULD NEED TO KEEP ADDING OIL TO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (REEVES BMW TAMPA, 109 E FOWLER AVE, TAMPA, FL 33612, (813) 936-5500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
POWER TRAIN WARNING COMES ON AND VEHICLE LOOSES POWER
09 BMW 750LI SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER A DSC MALFUNCTION/ TRANSMITION MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE JUST RECEIVED THE N63 RECALL SERVICE. THIS IS VARY DANGEROUS. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AROUND 70 MILES PER HOUR BEFORE IT STARTED SHAKING AND SLOWING DOWN IN FAST MOVING TRAFFIC.
EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. VEHICLE USING 2 QUARTS OF OIL A WEEK. VEHICLE HAS 83,342 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. DOES NOT TAKE LONG FOR ENGINE OIL LIGHT TO COME ON WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BMW 750I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A SERVICE CAMPAIGN (B001314 - N63), BUT THERE WAS NO PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THE CONDITION. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR FURTHER INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE WARNING LIGHT FLASHED FOR A DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION, THE VEHICLE DRASTICALLY REDUCED SPEED AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BMW 750I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE DROVE ROUGH AND NEARLY SHUT-OFF. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FOUR SEPARATE UNKNOWN DEALERS AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HIM OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THE DEALER BMW OF MONROVIA (1425 S MOUNTAIN AVE, MONROVIA, CA 91016, 877-269-9618) ACKNOWLEDGED SOME OIL LEAKS IN THE ENGINE AND REPAIRED THE ENGINE FOR $2600. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND THAT THE ENGINE WOULD BE REPLACED WITH PERMISSION FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT APPROVE REPLACING THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THE FUEL INJECTORS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BMW WOULD NOT SELL THE EXACT INJECTORS BECAUSE THE UNIT WAS REDESIGNED BECAUSE THE VERSION THAT CAME WITH THE CAR HAD EXCESSIVE FAILURES. AFTER I HAD THE CAR REPAIRED BMW WOULD NOT REIMBURSE ME FOR REPAIRS SEEING THAT I DID NOT HAVE THE CAR REPAIRED BY THEM.
HEAVY OIL CONSUMPTION
BMW REAR STRUTS LIFE EXPECTANCY BOTH FAILED ONE AT MILEAGE OF 56924 AND ONE AT MILEAGE 66529. BOTH FAILED IN SAME YEAR DURING COLD CONDITIONS. AIRBAGS WERE POORLY CONSTRUCTED CAUSING TOTAL FAILURE. COST COMBINED FOR BOTH REPAIRS $5256.44 PAID BY OWNER. PARTS AT THAT COST SHOULD HAVE LONGER LIFE EXPECTANCY OR PRICES SHOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH LOWER FOR PARTS THAT DO NO LAST MORE THAN 5 YEARS. DOES BMW OFFER REIMBURSEMENT FOR FAULTY AIR BAGS REPLACED AT OWNERS COST? WHAT IS THE FAIL RATE FOR VEHICLES LIKE THE ONE IN SCENARIO? IS IT A SYSTEMIC ISSUE?

AFTER DIAGNOSIS THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED AND REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V521000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OTHER FUEL TYPES:TURBO-CHARGER). PRIOR TO THE REPAIR, THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG BURNING ODOR AND THE ODOR CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A PASSENGERS MIDDLE FINGERS WERE CAUGHT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, IN WHICH CLOSED INDEPENDENTLY. THE PASSENGER WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND TWO ADDITIONAL PASSENGERS FOUND THAT THEIR FINGERS WERE CAUGHT IN THE DOOR. BOTH PASSENGERS WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED PER THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE DOOR COULD CAUSE AN INJURY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED, BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,800.
