Warning light stating "Secure vehicle against rolling". Even when the vehicle is in park it could still roll and injure or kill someone.
Repeatedly getting warnings of "secre vehicle with parking brake"
My BMW 2016 is displaying a message “Secure Vehicle against rolling”. It just started one day last week. We brought it to our mechanic who said it was a known issue with this make and model car and there are other complaints on other forums and here as well. This is an extreme safety issue - the vehicle could roll and injure or kill someone. This car has less that 40000 miles on it and should be recalled by the manufacturer.
Alert to ‘secure vehicle from rolling’ when put vehicle into park
My BMW 2016 is displaying a message “Secure Vehicle against rolling”. This message is coming up only today (03/11/2022). I tried to search in the web forums and could see many many users reported same issue. I am worried about the safety of myself and family driving the vehicle with this message. I am planning to take it to the dealer for consultation. I feel this is a manufacturing issue and needs safety recall and warranty replacement by the manufacturer.
THE FRONT BRAKES HAVE AN ISSUE THAT BMW KNOWS ABOUT, AS THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH 2016-2020 X1S AND X2S. THE BRAKE PADS ON THE FRONT WHEELS HAVE AN ISSUE WHERE ONE BRAKE PAD WILL WEAR EXTREMELY QUICKLY WITHIN 5,000-20,000 MILES. WHILE THE OTHER BRAKE PAD WILL WEAR AS IT SHOULD. AS THE BRAKE PAD THAT WEARS DOWN QUICKLY IS THE INNER BRAKE PAD. TO ACTUALLY SEE THE BRAKE PAD ONE MUST REMOVE THE CAR WHEEL TO ACCESS ANY VISIBILITY OF THE BRAKE PAD ITSELF. DUE TO THIS VISIBILITY ISSUE, THE DEALERSHIP ALLOWED ME TO LEAVE WITH LESS THAN 2MM OF BRAKE PAD LEFT ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS IS A HAZARD FOR ANYONE DRIVING THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL AS THEY WILL NOT HAVE ANY STOPPING POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY.
