I WAS APPROACHING A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND I HAD TO STOP. I BEGAN EASING UP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS THE CAR WAS COMING TO A STOP. IT WAS THEN THAT I REALIZED I WAS HAVING TO PRESS HARDER ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS THE CAR WAS NOT MAINTAINING THE SLOW SPEED I WAS EXPECTING. HAVING REACHED THE POINT AT WHICH I HAD TO STOP, I FOUND MYSELF PRESSING QUITE HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND NOTICED THE TACHOMETER READING 3,500 TO 4,000 RPM'S. I BELIEVE IT WAS MY TAPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL THAT GOT THE CAR TO REV AT THE NORMAL RPM'S FOR A CAR THAT IS A STATIONARY POSITION, HOWEVER, THIS HAPPENED SO FAST AND CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD, THAT PERHAPS THE PROBLEM FIXED ITSELF AND IT WASN'T MY TAPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. *NLM
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT THE VEHICLE WOULD LOOSE POWER WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO PULL OVER. DEALER NOTIFIED. *PH
2003 BMW Z-4 COMPUTER GLITCH THAT CAUSED THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT TO COME ON UNEXPECTEDLY AND KILL THE ENGINE RPM'S CREATTING A VERY DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY LETHAL SITUATIONS FOR DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS.*AK
SOMETIMES WHEN I GO OVER A DEPRESSION OR ROUGH AREA IN THE ROAD THE CAR WILL VEER INTO THE OTHER LANE. (CROSS THE CENTER LINE) I ALSO FEEL THE STEERING WHEEL STICKING. YOU CAN TURN THE WHEEL TO LEFT OR RIGHT AND THE CAR WILL CONTINUE IN THAT DIRECTION EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO PRESSURE ON THE WHEEL? *TR
I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING ON MY 2003 BMW Z4. I CONSTANTLY MUST KEEP THE STEERING WHEEL CENTERED AS IT STICKS TO ONE SIDE THEN THE OTHER AS I DRIVE. IT WANTS TO GO RIGHT OR LEFT AND I NEED TO TRY TO KEEP IT GOING STRAIGHT. *TR
WHEN SUBJECT TO HEAT OF A HOT DAY, STEERING BECOMES LESS RESPONSIVE, SLUGGISH, AND DIFFICULT TO CONTROL.*AK
CENTER COMPARTMENT IS ACCESSIBLE WITHOUT A KEY. THERE IS A SOLENOID TO LOCK THE COMPARTMENT, BUT ALL ONE HAS TO DO TO OPEN IT IS PRESS THE DOOR UNLOCK BUTTON.*AK
ENGINE SURGED THEN REVVED UNCONTROLLABLLY AFTER STARTUP. CONTINUED TO SURGE AND IDLE WITH RPM ALTERNATING BETWEEN 0 - 2500 RPM THE ACCELORATOR WAS UNRESPONSIVE.*AK AFTER STARTUP THE CAR SURGED FORWARD. DAMANGE TO FRONT BUMBER AND CRACKED LIGHT RESULTED. DEFECTIVE PART: BAD THROTTLE HOUSING, REPLACED ENGINE THROTTLE (R6385) DEFECT CODE 15 540 712
2003 BMW Z4 WITH POWER STEERING FAILURE. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS GOING OUT INTERMITTENTLY BUT THE DEALER DID NOT SEE ANY PROBLEM. NOW THE POWER STEERING ONLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. *KB
THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, THE MECHANIC STATED THE STEERING GEAR BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF TO FILL WITH GAS, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED BACK ON, THE STEERING HAD GONE OUT. THE DEALER HAD REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN GEAR AND REPROGRAMMED THE EPS AND THE LWS WITH THE CIP V 7.0. MR SCC
CONSUMER STATED WHILE AT A STOP TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL. AS A RESULT, VEHICLE WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. *AK 2003 BMW Z4 EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WHERE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL WHILE AT A STOP. THE TRANSMISSION IS A SMG (SEQUENTIAL MANUAL GEARBOX). THIS OCCURENCE ALMOST RESULTED IN VEHICLE GETTING REAR ENDED.*MR
WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND THEN IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING. *AK *CB *JB
