TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL GOT STUCK IN A PARTIALLY DEPRESSED POSITION AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED INTO NEUTRAL BEFORE CRASHING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, BUT THE PHYSICAL DAMAGES WERE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,700.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT. HE THEN DISCOVERED THAT ENGINE ANTIFREEZE WAS LEAKING ALL OVER THE ENGINE AND HOOD BECAUSE THE FANS WERE STILL OPERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS PUNCTURE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
I PURCHASED A NEW BUICK ENCLAVE ON OR ABOUT 4 FEB. 2011, ON OR ABOUT 12 APRIL 2011 I HAD THE BACK WINDOW DOWN WITHOUT KNOWING IT AS I HIT ABOUT 45 MPH THIS HORRIBLE NOISE APPEARED IN THE CAR. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD THINKING THAT THE ENGINE BLEW UP, BUT THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. THE SOUND CAME FROM HAVING THE BACK WINDOW DOWN. I CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. I LATER TOOK DECIBEL READINGS OF THIS AND THEY ARE AT 94 DB AT 45 MPH. AS SPEED IS INCREASED THE DECIBEL READINGS ALSO INCREASED. I COULD ONLY TAKE THE READINGS UP TO 60 MPH AS THE DECIBEL METER I HAD DID NOT GO ABOVE 120 DB. THIS WILL CAUSE HEARING LOSS AND POSSIBLY PERMANENT HEARING LOSS TO SMALL CHILDREN AND BABIES. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. ALSO THE WHOLE CAR SHAKES AND IS VERY DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER. STATUS UPDATE. 08/30/11
BUICK ENCLAVE 2011: THE CAR ROLLS DOWN UNCONTROLLABLY ON HILLS WHILE IN GEAR WHETHER IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, AND IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL. THIS ALSO REQUIRES VERY QUICK MOVEMENT FROM BRAKE TO ACCELERATOR. THERE IS NO "HILL HOLD" FEATURE AND DRIVETRAIN PROVIDES NO RESISTANCE. WE DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM EVERY DAY WHILE DRIVING OUR DRIVEWAY AND INTO OUR GARAGE. THE MINUTE WE ATTEMPT TO PULL UP TO THE GARAGE, THE CAR/SUV STARTS ROLLING BACKWARDS AND YOU HAVE TO CONDUCT A COUPLE OF QUICK STEPS TO STOP IT. I IMAGINE THIS CAUSES WEAR AND TEAR ON THE BRAKES AND OTHER PARTS OF THE VEHICLE. A SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS WAS NORMAL AND TOLD ME ABOUT OTHER MANUFACTURERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM FROM GMC. I DRIVE A SECOND CAR AND IT NEVER DOES THIS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A BUICK ENCLAVE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BUICK ENCLAVE. WHILE PARKED, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE COULD HAVE OCCURRED BECAUSE A CELL PHONE WAS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS SITTING ON AN INCLINE WITH THE BRAKES DEPRESSED. AS HE RELEASED THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ROLLED BACKWARD APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR SPORADICALLY WHEN ON AN INCLINE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL. HE THEN CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 369.
MY 2011 BUICK ENCLAVE ROLLS FORWARD AND BACKWARD ON AN INCLINE WHEN IN DRIVE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AS THE ROLLBACK IS NOT RESTRICTED AND CAN REACH DANGEROUS SPEEDS DEPENDING ON THE LEVEL OF DECLINE. THIS REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO KEEP FIRM AND CONSISTENT PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE WHEN ON AN INCLINE TO AVOID ROLLING INTO OTHER VEHICLES AND ALSO, GO HEAVY ON GAS TO OVERPOWER THE ROLL WHEN TAKING OFF. THIS IS EVEN WORSE THAN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE AS AT LEAST THEY WILL STOP IF THEY SNUB OUT. *TR
AIR BAG LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. LOVE BUICK, COLUMBIA SC REPLACED MODULE. SEVERAL DAYS LATER AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WITH A MESSAGE " SERVICE AIRBAG ". ABOVE DEALER NOW HAS THIS VEHICLE IN SERVICE AND SAYS THEY NEED TO KEEP IT SEVERAL DAYS FOR MORE DIAGNOSTICS. *TR
THE VEHICLE ROLLS BACK ON ANY INCLINE. THERE IS NO HAND BRAKE IN THE CENTER CONSOLE, AND ACCORDING TO DOT SAFETY THIS IS NOT LEGAL. MOST CROSSOVERS AND OR SUVS OF THIS SIZE ROLL BACK A FEW INCHES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION PINS ENGAGE AND STOP THE ROLL BACK. I WAS TOLD FROM GMC THAT THE COMPONENT WAS REMOVE SO THAT THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T HAVE TO BE SERVICED FOR 100000 MILES. GMC TOLD US THE ONLY THING THEY ARE WILLING TO DO IS INSTALL AND AFTER-MARKET HAND CONTROL AND WILL PAY A PERCENTAGE TOWARD THE COST. TO ME THIS SOUNDS LIKE A BAND-AID FIX TO A BIGGER PROBLEM.
*PURCHASED NEW IN AUGUST 2010, REPORTED BACK TO DEALERSHIP THERE WAS MOVEMENT IN SEAT BACK/BOTTOM OR BOTH. HAVE RETURNED AND COMMUNICATED WITH SELLING DEALERSHIP AND GENERAL MOTORS (SERVICE REQUEST #71-929161000) ON THIS ONGOING PROBLEM AS MOVEMENT STILL EXISTS IN SEAT. ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR SEAT THREE TIMES AND FAILED. PROBLEM IS STILL EXISTS AND GM HEADQUARTERS IN DETROIT IS STANDING BY THEIR FIELD SERVICE REP AND THE DEALSHIP SAYING THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN THEIR VIEW. HAVING SAID THIS, NO ONE HAS SEEN THE VEHICLE TO EXAMINE IF IN FACT REPAIRS WERE SUCCESSFUL AFTER THEIR LAST ATTEMPT AT REPLACING PARTS ON THE SEAT FRAME. NO REPRESENTATIVE FROM , GM FIELD SERVICE MANAGER OR ANYONE ELSE REPRESENTING GM. SO, I DONT KNOW HOW THEY CAN SAY THE PROBLEM IS FIXED IF THEY ARE STILL RECEIVING COMPLAINTS AND HAVE NOT EXAMINED THE SEAT FOR WARRANTS OF THIS COMPLAINT. ADDITIONALLY I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO A PRIVATELY OWNED AUTO SERVICE CENTER: I AM THANKFUL TO NOT ONLY PROVIDED GREAT SERVICE BUT HAS ALSO DETECTED THE ROOT PROBLEM IN THE SEAT AND PROVIDED THEIR OPTION ON WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM - REPLACE THE SEAT. WHEN I PROVIDED THIS INFORMATION TO GM HEADQUARTERS, THEY REVIEWED THE INFORMATION AND CAME BACK WITH THE SAME REPEATED RESPONSE INDICATING THAT ALTHOUGH THEY UNDERSTAND I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THEIR RESPONSE, THEY HAVE NOTHING MORE TO ADD IN TERMS OF CORRECTING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE EXPERIENCED SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I AM CONCERNED AS TO THE SEAT PROVIDING STABILITY WHEN STOPPING IN AN EMERGENCY WHEN NEEDED MOST IN ADDITION TO THE SEAT WEARING OUT WELL BEFORE ITS TIME. WHILE STOPPED AT STOP SIGN; VEHICLE ROLLS. WHILE TAKING OFF , YOU MUST KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PREVENT VEHICLE FROM ROLLING BACKWARD INTO VEHICLE BEHIND WHILE ACCELERATING TOO. THIS VEHICLE IS LIKE DRIVING A MANUAL VEHICLE. *TR
