The NHTSA has issued a recall due to a safety concern with the airbag since the airbag inflator may rupture causing metal fragments to explode into the vehicle interior causing death or harm to passengers. As a result these vehicles have been designated as not safe to drive. While it appears through the Working Capital Assistance Program some type of compensation or assistance is being provided for dealers nothing is being done for those of us who own one of these vehicles. There is also absolutely no indication of when a remedy for this safety recall will be available; supposedly the defect is being addressed. Therefore we own a vehicle which has been declared unsafe to drive, yet nothing is being down to help owners of these vehicles. Why?
I was rear ended on the highway going 65 mph. The rear driver side was completely crushed. The air bags didn't go off. Seat belts didn't lock up and the driver's seat broke.

I received a safety recall letter that states, "Parts to repair your vehicle are not currently available..." The recall is due to a defect, "which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants." How can this be okay? What recourse to I have?

I'm registering a complaint about the length of time that owners/drivers are having to drive their vehicles without remedy for the airbag safety recall N232404980. We were notified of the air bag defect, with risk of harm/death, in June 2023. Parts were not yet available for repair as of that time. We were advised that we would be notified when parts became available. They are still not yet available 6-7 months later in February 2024. There is personal risk in driving these vehicles, risk to the safety of our families, and an impact to the trade-in value and market for our vehicles. If GM cannot ready parts in a reasonable time, they should be required to compensate vehicle owners for the value of our vehicles plus the forgone tax benefit associated with having a trade with auto purchase.
REF GM safety recall N232404980 dated June 2023. As of today, May 21, 2024, no remedy is available apparently due to parts not available. It is now approaching a year without any additional unsolicited information from GM Recall personnel. The local Dealer has no remedy as they are at the mercy of GM. This recall expresses possible personal injury or death should an event causing airbag activation. This vehicle is a daily driver and exposes occupants to undue exposure to injury or death. I am asking the NTSA to followup with GM and push for an accelerated solution for their customers. Please provide any information that you can to me via email to: [XXX] or via phone at [XXX] . If this is not the correct area to handle this issue, please email me with the proper contact information. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This recall has been open since June 2023 without remedy. I have been waiting a remedy to trade the car in on a newer vehicle. However, the dealership will not pay me fair value since the car cannot be resold until the recall is resolved. This is criminal and needs to be resolved immediately.
There has been a recall on vehicle and I received notice May of 2023. I have inquired several times throughout the year and GM still does not have parts to correct the problem. To this date the manufacturer (General Motor] has not rectify the problem. I am Concern about airbag recall. I am frighteningly had to drive dangerous vehicles while waiting for the automaker to replace defective airbags. I am a very busy person and I do travel a lot

A recall for this potentially deadly recall has been on this car for over a year. I think this should be considered untimely as it is unsafe and we are in fear driving this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2017 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle however, the battery failed to provide adequate cold cranking amps (CCA) to start the vehicle. The contact replaced the battery himself. The contact noticed the vehicle was unvented. The new battery was reinstalled correctly. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The battery, which is housed within the passenger compartment, began emitting fumes that caused passengers to experience physical symptoms of nausea and headache, followed by smoke and extreme heat. We realized what was going on and turned off the engine before it caught fire, but there were no warning lights on the dash and no messages from the vehicle itself. Initially we thought it was a smell outside of the vehicle. Even the vehicle app diagnostics don't report any kind of an issue.
Rear wiper will not turn off
When driving the vehicle and going from 2rd to 3rd gear (approximately 20-30mph and 2000 rpm) the vehicle will shudder and shake. The problem is consistent. When driving the vehicle, the shakiness of the vehicle slows down acceleration and causes the car to swerve a little. No warning lights come on when this happens. The car has been checked by my mechanic who I have been using for over 30 years.
