WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, YOU ARE ABLE TO HEAR A CREAKING SOUND THAT IS VERY PRONOUNCED. THIS JUST STARTED ALL SUDDENLY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT AS WELL AS THE RIGHT.
I'VE HAD MY ENCORE FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS. IT IS A 2015 AND JUST UNDER 50000 MILES. FOR THE LAST MONTH ITS BEEN SAYING AWD OFF. THIS IS AS SOON AS THE CAR STARTS. IT ALSO DIBGS AND COMES UP AGAIN EVERY 10 MINUTES WHILE DRIVING. I'VE.CONSULTED THE MANUAL AND IT SAYS OVERHEATING AND TO TURN BACK ON. THIS DOES NOTHING. IT'S BEEN ICY HERE AND I'M STARTING TO FEEL UNSAFE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT.TO DO. I CANT SHELL OUT HUNDREDS TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT.AND HAVE SOMEONE NOT BE ABLE TO FIX IT.
WHILE DRIVING MOSTLY ON HIGHWAY AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30-40 MINUTES THE STABILITRAK LIGHT BEGINS TO FLASH ON AND OFF, THEN IT GOES SOLID, THEN THE POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON, THEN THE SERVICE POWER STEERING DISPLAY LIGHTS UP AND THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY GOES OUT. WHEN THIS HAPPENS REVERSE NO LONGER WORKS. ON 12/10/19 I HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO WILKINS BUICK, THEY KEPT IT FOR 2 DAYS, NOTED THAT THEY DID SEE MULTIPLE DETECTS FOR LOSS OF COMMUNICATION W/POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE AND SAID THE BATTERY CABLE WAS LOOSE, CHARGED ME $440.60. ON 1/10/20 LOST POWER STEERING AGAIN, WE UNHOOKED THE BATTERY, REHOOKED IT WHICH CLEARED THE LIGHTS AND WAS ABLE TO GET HOME, PARKED CAR FOR THE WEEKEND. ON 1/13/20 WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY TO WORK, AFTER APPROX 30 MINUTES OF CONTINUOUS HWY DRIVING, THE STABILITRAK LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING. I DROPPED IT OFF AT HERITAGE BUICK THAT NIGHT. THEY KEPT THE CAR FROM 1/14/20-1/20/20, TOLD ME THEY DID SEE MULTIPLE PREVIOUS CODES ABOUT LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH POWER STEERING THE PROBLEM DID NOT HAPPEN WHEN THEY DROVE IT AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I PICKED CAR UP ON 1/21/20. THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME, GAVE ME NO PAPERWORK. ON 1/13/20 I DID OPEN A COMPLAINT WITH GM, CASE [XXX] BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN A CLOSED RECALL 15168, #15V14600 FOR SAME PROBLEM WITH 2015 ENCORES WITH BUILD DATES BEGINNING 1 MONTH AFTER MINE. ON 1/31/20 AFTER DRIVING APPROX 1.5HRS ON HIGHWAY I LOST THE POWER STEERING AGAIN, UNHOOKED BATTERY, RESET ,DROVE HOME, PARKED CAR FOR WEEKEND. 2/3/20 AFTER DRIVING 30 MINUTES ON HWY STABILITRAK LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING, DROPPED CAR AT HERITAGE BUICK. THEY HAVE HAD CAR SINCE THEN, ON 2/6/20 I ESCALATED COMPLAINT WITH GM, ON 2/7/20 [XXX] @ GM CALLED W/NEW CASE [XXX], HAVE NOT HAD ANY CONTACT FROM EITHER HERITAGE BUICK OR GM SINCE. I LEFT A MESSAGE FOR HERITAGE EARLIER TODAY REQUESTED UPDATE, NO RESPONSE YET. *DL PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
BRAKES. IN TOWN I HAVE TO LET OFF THE GAS FOR HALF A BLOCK AND GRADUALLY APPLY THE BRAKES OR DOUBLE BRAKE TO MAKE IT STIFFEN UP AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I'VE HAD IT SERVICED. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED AND IT SEEMED FINE FOR A MONTH BUT THEN I BEGAN TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AGAIN. BY THAT TIME THOUGH IT WAS USED IT ONLY HAD 36000 MILES AND IS STILL GIVING THE SAME ISSUES. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE PEDAL GOES DOWN WITH MAYBE AN INCH OR TWO INCHES FROM TOUCHING THE FLOOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 BUICK ENCORE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INFORMATION SCREEN AND BACK UP CAMERA WERE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARKS BUICK GMC (2640 LAURENS RD, GREENVILLE, SC 29607, (864) 568-7276) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INFORMATION CENTER AND RADIO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PARTS BEING ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
MY CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND HAS 40800 MILES ON IT. IN JULY 2019 LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON. DEALERSHIP NOT OPEN SO I STOPPED AT BELLE TIRE. THEY CONFIRMED FLUID WAS LOW AND TOPPED IT OFF. BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN SEPT 26, 2019. BELLE TIRE AND DEALERSHIP BOTH CONCUR I NEED A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER. SERIOUSLY? 4 YEAR OLD CAR AND 40800 MILES? CAN THIS BE A POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE PART? CAN'T SEEM TO FIND A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE EITHER. PLEASE HELP! REPAIR IS OVER A $1,000.
REAR CENTER SEAT BELT LOCKS WHEN SEAT IS PUT IN CARGO POSITION MAKING 2/3 OF THE REAR SEAT UNUSABLE. VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN THE SEAT WAS LOWERED, BUT RETURNING THE CAR WAS 2K MILES OVER WARRANTY. CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP 3 DAYS BEFORE LEAVING FOR TRIP, SO THEY WERE AWARE OF THE MILEAGE. DEALER CUT THE SEAT BELT SO THE SEAT COULD BE RAISED, BUT WOULD NOT REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS DIRECTED TO CONTACT GM FOR ASSISTANCE. GM WAS OF LITTLE HELP AND CONTACTED ME 2 WEEKS LATER STATING THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT RETURN THEIR CALLS TO DISCUSS. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOUND AT VARIOUS SITES, VERY SURPRISED A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ACTIVATED. CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE! IT'S A SEAT BELT!!!!!
TRIED TO STOP BEFORE A RED SIGN ON A CITY STREET, THE CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN, PASSED THE RED LIGHT AND RUN AT ABOUT 60 MPH ON A 35 MPH STREET FOR ABOUT HALF A MILE AND THEN STOPPED BY ITSELF. PRESSING THE BRAKES AND EVEN PUTTING IT ON PARK DID NOT HELP. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE WITH MY TWO PASSENGERS, AND LUCKY NOT TO KILL ANYBODY OR CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE.

DRIVING CAR LOCKS UP CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON SAYS CHECK POWER STEERING, WE AIMED TO SIDE OF THE SHOULDER CAR DIES WOULDN'T START.WE HAD TO WAIT ON SIDE OF A INTERSTATE FOR 3 HOURS TO GET A TOW TRUCK, VERY DANGEROUS
ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 10, 2019 I SLID ONTO A SHOULDER TAKING A TURN AND PUNCTURED MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. I REPLACED THE TIRE WITH THE SPARE, DROVE TO WORK (LESS THAN 10 MILES) AT SPEEDS BELOW 50 MPH, THEN DROVE HOME AND SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED THE FOLLOWING MORNING. ON THURSDAY, JULY 11, 2019, I BACKED OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT AT MY HOME AND STARTED GOING DOWN MY VERY STEEP MOUNTAIN DRIVEWAY. I APPLIED THE BRAKES LIKE I ALWAYS DO (MY FOOT IS ALWAYS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING DOWN) AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. THE PEDAL FELT NORMAL (NOT SOFT), BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE. BY THAT TIME MY CAR WAS GOING VERY FAST (BECAUSE OF THE VERY STEEP SLOPE), AND I WAS STRUGGLING TO KEEP IT ON THE ROAD, WHILE TRYING NOT TO HIT ANOTHER CAR PASSING BY MY DRIVEWAY AND NOT TO FLY ACROSS THE TWO-LANE ROAD INTO A CREEK. I COULD NOT SPARE A HAND FOR THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I HAD TO TAKE A VERY SHARP RIGHT TURN FROM MY DRIVEWAY TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. I DIDN'T HIT THE OTHER CAR OR END UP IN THE CREEK BUT I CLIPPED MY PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR AND ONE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE PANELS. ONCE DOWN AND ON EVEN GROUND, I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND STOP THE CAR. AFTER A BRIEF PAUSE, I STARTED MOVING AGAIN, AND REGULAR BRAKES WORKED NORMALLY. TWO SUBSEQUENT BRAKE SYSTEM CHECKS (ONE AT THE TIRE SHOP ONE AT A GM DEALERSHIP) SHOWED NO ISSUES. I WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO BULLETINS OR RECALLS FOR ANYTHING LIKE IT. I LOOKED ON BUICK AND GM FORUMS AND FOUND AT LEAST TWO REPORTS OF A SIMILAR PROBLEM - BRAKES SUDDENLY NOT WORKING AND THEN RESUMING FUNCTION AGAIN. THERE ARE TWO COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE DESCRIBING SIMILAR ISSUE - ID # 11100704 AND 11083404. FIXING THE MIRROR ALONE WOULD COST $900 ACCORDING TO THE GM DEALERSHIP, HOWEVER, I AM NOT SEEING ANYTHING REGARDING GM INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE CLOSELY.
THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES. 5 TIMES TO A GM DEALER. 5 TIME NOT FIXED. AFTER TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70-75MPH FOR 3 HOURS, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. FOLLOWED BY SERVICE POWER STEERING, THEN DIALS GO TO ZERO, TRANSMISSION STOP SHIFTING. TOWED OF THE HIGHWAY 3 TIMES, MANAGED TO LIMP TO A DEALER TWICE. ECM RE-PROGRAMMED, BATTERY CHANGES, REPLACED ECM. CAR IS NOW IN LITTLE ROCK AR, HAVING ITS FIFTH DIAGNOSIS. HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING MY DAUGHTER TO AND FROM OHIO TO AN INTERNSHIP IN DALLAS. BROKE DOWN OUTSIDE OF LOUSVILLE , NASHVILLE, FORT WORTH, TEXARKANA AND FINALLY LITTLE ROCK. VERY DANGEROUS.
THE REAR CENTER SEAT BELT LOCKS WHEN SEAT IS PUT IN CARGO POSITION. THIS MAKES 2/3 POF THE REAR SEATS NON-USABLE AND PASSENGERS INCLUDING CHILDREN CANNOT RIDE SAFELY IN VEHICLE. DEALER TECHNICIAN REPORTED TO ME HE SAW 16 COMPLAINTS ON WEBSITE HE USED TO CONFER WITH ME. RESOLUTION IS TO COMPLETELY REMOVE REAR SEATS TO UNLOCK. THIS LEAVES CONSUMER WITH UNUSABEL AND UNSAFE REAR SEATS.
TAKATA RECALL? THE ELETRICAL CONTROL DISPLAY TURNS OFF AND SOMETIMES BACK ON RANDOMLY CREATING A DEFINITED DRIVER DISTRACTION. THE ONE CONNECTION I HAVE MADE IS IT DOES HAPPEN AT TIMES WHEN I TURN SLIGHTLY (NOT FULL HARD TURN NEEDED)ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS CONCERNS ME AS A SAFETY ISSUE; I ASK IS THIS RELATED TO THE SYSTEM ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN RECALL 15168? FOR ME IT INVOLVES SAFETY AS ANYTHING HAPPENING IN A VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY CREATE DISTRACTION. IN MY CASE IT IS MOMENTARY, YET DISTRACTING NONE THE LESS. THER DATE LISTED BELONG IS ONE OF MANY TIMES.
AFTER DRIVING THE ENCORE FOR 30 MINUTES THEN MAKING STOPS AT DIFFERENT PLACES A FEW MINUTES APART, WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED THERE IS A SMELL OF GAS INSIDE THE CAR. DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN STARTING THE ENCORE FOR THE FIRST TIME OF THE DAY. I WAS INSIDE THE STORE FROM 5 MINUTES TO 30 MINUTES, HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL DAYS NOW.

THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOVE BUICK GMC (736 SATURN PKWY, COLUMBIA, SC 29212) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VIN FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
PASSENGER AIRBAG DOES NOT ALWAYS ACTIVATE. THE LIGHT INDICATING THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN ACTIVATED DOES NOT ALWAYS TURN ON WHEN THE SEAT IS IN USE. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CAR IS MOVING OR STATIONARY. IT ALSO DOESN'T MATTER WHO IS SITTING IN THE SEAT, MEANING IT COULD WORK FOR THE PERSON ONE DAY AND NOT THE NEXT. .
CODE PO300 IGNITION COIL ARCING TO THE VALVE COVER RANDOM CYLINDER MISFIRE
HAD TROUBLE GETTING INTO THE CAR THE ENGINE LIGHT AND POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON. THE RADIO FACE WAS NOT WORKING BUT THE RADIO WAS ON WITH NO KEYS IN THE IGNITION. TRIED TO START THE CAR AND IT WILL NOT TURN OVER. TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES TO GET IN/OUT OF THE VEHICLE. ONCE I EXITED THE CAR I WENT BACK TO GET THE VIN AND AGAIN THE RADIO WAS ON NO KEYS IN THE IGNITION AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS JUST TRYING TO START MY CAR TO GO TO WORK AND IT'S LIKE IT'S POSSESSED

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GARBER GMC (5255 US-1, FORT PIERCE, FL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE TURBO CHARGER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO HIGH DEMAND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY QUIT, AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. CAR WONT GET OUT OF LOW GEAR AND REVERSE DOESN'T WORK
WHEN FIRST STARTING OUT, THE BRAKES STOP SHORT. I HAVE TO BRAKE 3 TIMES SOMEWHERE SAFE IN ORDER TO NOT STOP SHORT IN FRONT OF ANOTHER VEHICLE BY ACCIDENT. I HAD THEM INSPECTED AND THE SERVICE CENTER SAID THEY WERE FINE, THAT'S JUST THE WAY THEY ARE. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IT STOPS SHORT, WHETHER I WANT TO OR NOT. IT HAPPENS WHETHER IT IS RAINING OR NOT, BUT ESPECIALLY DURING RAIN.

THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN TOOK IT TO AUTONATION CHEVROLET NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (LOCATED AT 7769 BOULEVARD 26, NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX 76180, (817) 264-7753). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED WITH MULTIPLE UNKNOWN FAILURES, INCLUDING AN OIL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
THERE IS A CONSTANT COOLANT LEAK APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE TURBO AREA. COOLANT SMELL IS CONSTANT AS THE COOLANT IS BEING BURNED OFF BY EXHAUST MANIFOLD. LOSS OF COOLAND CAN LEAD TO OVERHEATING AND ENGINE FAILURE.
"TAKARA RECALL" MY 2015 BUICK AS BEEN DOING DIFFRENT THINGS. FIRST THE BLINKERS AND RADIO WENT OUT AND THEN IT CAME BACK AND NOW NONE OF THE DOORS LOCK WORKED. I WAS STUCK INSIDE MY CAR FOR 30 MIN. NOW THE IGNITION GETS REALLY HOT. AND THE DOORS WON'T UNLOCK IN THE BACK. IM CONCERN ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON. WHILE DRIVING THE SIGNAL WASN'T WORKING NEITHER THE RADIO BUT OUT OF NOWHERE IT STARTS WORKING. IT'S BEEN DOING IT ON AND OFF FOR THE PAST FOUR OR SO DAYS. THE KEY IS GETTING VERY HOT TO WHERE IT ALMOST BURN ME. VERY WEIRD... IM TRULY CONCERN ABOUT THAT. AND I WAS IN THE CAR WHEN THE DOOR WOULDN'T UNLOCK.
THE STEARING JOINT AND BAR ARE TOTALY RUSTED OUT. I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA. AND THIS CAR IS A 2015 BUT SOLD IN 2016. THE PICTURES WONT UP LOAD
WHILE DRIVING AND THE ENGINE ON WE EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER STEERING. LUCKILY IT OCCURRED AS WE WERE PULLING AWAY FROM THE DRIVEWAY, WE ATTEMPTED TO RE-ENGINE THE VEHICLE TO NO AVAIL. EVENTUALLY THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AWAY.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2017 WITH ONLY 45,000 MILES, 1 YEAR WARRANTY WAS PURCHASED. I HAVE HAD CONSTANT ISSUES WITH TIRES, BUT MORE SERIOUSLY I HAVE HAD OVER $2000 IN REPAIRS FOR INTAKE MANIFOLD, AIR CONDITIONING, VARIOUS ISSUES WITH TIRES, REPAIRED THERMOSTAT. I HAD AN IGNITION PROBLEM REPAIRED IN 2019 AND NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING, THE MOTOR DOESN'T WANT TO ENGAGE AND I AM IN FEAR FOR MY LIFE THAT I WILL BE ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT WILL JUST SHUT DOWN, CAUSING A COLLISION!

ON 5/25/18, ABS FAILED WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AT AROUND 30 MPH LEADING TO A REAR END CRASH ON WET RAINY ROAD AT A ROUNDABOUT AT JACARANDA BOULEVARD AND EAST VENICE AVENUE, VENICE, FL.
ON 4/25/18 WAS TRAVELING A COUPLE OF HOURS OUT OF TOWN FOR A MEETING. WHILE ACCELERATING (UP AN INCLINE) FROM A HWY WORK ZONE OF 50 MPH, I TEMPORARILY LOST: ALL DIAL READINGS, POWER STEERING AND ENGINE SOUNDED STUCK IN A LOWER GEAR. A FEW SECONDS LATER, REGAINED EVERYTHING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ON STAR PINGED TRANSMISSION ERROR/ TAKE IN FOR SERVICE WITHIN 1 DAY. DEALERSHIP RECEIVED U0073 CODE AND IDENTIFIED 2 LEAKS FROM AIR CONDITIONER. THEY SUSPECTED THE LEAKS WERE AFFECTING THE SENSORS. ON 5/5/18, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, JUST 1 MILE FROM LEAVING HOME - THE SAME THING HAPPENED AS ABOVE + TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON TEMPORARILY WITH POWER STEERING LIGHT. UPON PULLING OFF THE ROAD, TURNING THE CAR OFF, SITTING A MINUTE AND RESTARTING, EVERYTHING CAME BACK AND ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LIT. THE DEALERSHIP (WHO HAVE FABULOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE) IDENTIFIED A DIFFERENT SET OF CODES AND ENDED UP REPLACING "THE BRAINS" OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. ON 5/9/18, DRIVING 35 MPH DOWN A SLIGHT DECLINE- AGAIN LOST ALL DIAL GAUGES, POWER STEERING, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO BE STUCK IN LOW GEAR. THIS CONDITION CONTINUED FOR A NUMBER OF MINUTES. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT ON A HILL (NO FUN TO COAX THE CAR UP), TURNED THE CAR OFF, TURNED IT ON, AND STILL POWER STEERING, TRANSMISSION AND GAUGES AREN'T WORKING RIGHT. SINCE HOME WAS 1 MILE AWAY, I HEADED THAT DIRECTION AND AFTER 1/2 MILE EVERYTHING RESOLVED + CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON. THE DRIVE THAT NIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS SPECIAL. 50% OF THE TIME THE POWER STEERING WAS ON AND OFF ALONG WITH INABILITY TO ACCELERATE, ESPECIALLY UP HILL. THIS TIME 5 DIFFERENT ELECTRICAL CODES WERE IDENTIFIED. SO FAR, DEALERSHIP HAS RECHARGED THE BATTERY AND ARE DRIVING THE HECK OUT OF IT TO SEE IF MORE CODES POP UP. THEY DO NOT YET FEEL IT'S FIXED. WAS THERE A BAD BATCH OF 2015 ENCORES?
AIR BAG SENSOR DEFECTIVE. WHEN PASSENGER SITS IN SEAT THE SENSOR INDICATOR READS OFF. TOOK IT TO DEALER TODAY 3/15/2018 AND THEY SAID IT NEEDS A NEW SENSOR. WHEN THEY TESTED IT WITH A 280 LB. MECHANIC IN PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR SAID A CHILD WAS IN SEAT AND IT WAS ON THE OFF POSITION. THE AIR BAG SENSOR HAD A RECALL PREVIOUSLY AND WAS TAKEN CARE OF AND STILL HAVING AIR BAG PROBLEMS. HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH PASSENGERS IN SEAT WITH NO AIR BAG PROTECTION. HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN IT IN TO DEALER AND THEY SAID NO PROBLEM BUT PRESSED THEM AS INDICATOR STILL SHOWED OFF NO MATTER WHO SAT IN SEAT. TALKED TO GMC REPRESENTATIVE AND ALL THEY HAD TO SAY WAS WE ARE SO SORRY. THEY WERE OF NO HELP AT ALL. HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL OTHER BUICK ENCORE OWNERS AND THEY HAVE HAD AIR BAG ISSUES AS WELL. THESE CARS NEED ANOTHER RECALL AS THE FIRST RECALL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM OF AIR BAG OFF WAS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN PASSENGER SEAT WELL OVER THE WEIGHT LIMIT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. *JS
THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED IN AN UNHEATED GARAGE FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS. I STARTED IT, PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND PUT IT IN GEAR (R). THE CAR LUNGED BACK AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE. TO AVOID HITTING A VEHICLE BEHIND IT IN THE DRIVEWAY, I SHIFTED TO DRIVE (D) AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY STARTED FORWARD STILL AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE BRAKES DID NOT SLOW THE CAR DOWN. I BUMPED THE FRONT WALL OF THE GARAGE AND AGAIN SHIFTED INTO R. THE CAR STARTED MOVING BACK AGAIN AND THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND THE CAR BEGAN SLOWING AND CAME TO A STOP AFTER BUMPING THE VEHICLE ABOUT 20 FEET BEHIND IT. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THE WHOLE TIME. I CHECKED FOR OBSTRUCTIONS AROUND THE BRAKE PEDAL AND FOUND NONE. AFTERWARD, WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN, IT DROVE NORMALLY WITHOUT TROUBLE. THERE WAS NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO THE CAR AS A RESULT OF EITHER COLLISION BUT THE GARAGE WALL SUFFERED SOME MINOR DAMAGE.
PASSENGER AIRBAG SHOWS OFF EVEN WHEN SOMEONE WELL ABOVE THE WEIGHT LIMIT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. I AM OF THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY SHOULD THERE BE AN ACCIDENT AND THAT THE DRIVER BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY EITHER. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT IS ON WHETHER IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. I BELIEVE THAT A SOFTWARE UPDATE IS NEEDED TO CORRECT THIS. I HAVE A RECALL NUMBER OF 16007 THAT I FOUND ON THE INTERNET BUT NOT SURE IT IS THE CORRECT ONE. THIS NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AS IT IS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF JANUARY 2018.
OUR 2015 BUICK ENCORE BROKE DOWN ON 9/12 WHILE DRIVING HOME LATE AT NIGHT TRAVELING OVER THE CUESTA GRADE WE HAD A TOUGH TIME WITH ACCELERATION AND HAD TO DRIVE SLOW OVER THE GRADE AND ON THE HIGHWAY ALL THE WAY HOME. OUR CAR WAS BARLEY MOVING AS WE MADE DROVE IT INTO OUR DRIVEWAY. WE HAD LOST ALL ACCELERATION. OUR CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 9/13 . WE WERE TOLD WE WERE "JUST OVER THE WARRANTY MILEAGE ALLOWED 70,000 AND HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR . WE ASKED GM TO CONTRIBUTE SINCE WE WERE BARLEY OVER THE WARRANTY MILEAGE ALLOWED".WE PICKED UP OUR CAR AFTER THE ORIGINAL TURBO WAS REPLACED ON 9/23 AND AGAIN THE CAR BEGAN MAKING NOISES ON THE CUESTA GRADE. AGAIN WE STARTED TO LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND HAD TO DRIVE THE HIGHWAY AT A LOW SPEED TO MAKE IT HOME WITH THE CAR MAKING TERRIBLE SOUNDS AND NOISES . THIS SECOND TURBO HAD FAILED . WE HAD THE CAR TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP ON 9/24. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND EXPLAINED THEY HAD INSTALLED ANOTHER TURBO WHICH HAD FAILED AGAIN AND THEY WERE WAITING ON PARTS TO REPLACE IT WHICH WOULD BE THE 3RD TURBO TO BE INSTALLED IN OUR CAR BESIDES THE ORIGINAL ONE THE MANUFACTURER INSTALLED . EACH TIME THE DEALERSHIP STATED ADDITIONAL THINGS WERE HAPPENING TO THE CAR WHEN THE TURBO WAS "GOING OUT" .WE RECEIVED A CALL ON 10 /9 (OVER TWO WEEKS FROM THE TIME THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP) THAT THE TURBO WAS NOW REPAIRED AND WE COULD PICK UP THE CAR. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY WITH THIS CAR. WHEN THE TURBO GOES OUT IT CAN CAUSE A WREAK SINCE WE HAVE TO TRAVEL ON THE HIGHWAY AND CUESTA GRADE AS WE LOSE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE.
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 65MPH. ON A STRAIGHT PORTION OF THE ROAD THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO OVER 4000 RPM, THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP, AND MANY OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TRYING TO CONTROL THE CAR. I WAS FORCED TO SLOW DOWN AND WHEN I REACHED 40MPH THE POWER STEERING CAME BACK ON. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING OVER 4000 RPM. MOST OF THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY LIGHTS WENT OFF EXCEPT FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. HAD TO DRIVE UNDER 40 MPH UNTIL I GOT HOME. WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING MY ONSTAR SENT ME A NOTIFICATION THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY TRANSMISSION. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO THE GM DEALER. AT THE GM DEALER THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG.THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES IN THE CARS COMPUTER.
MY 2015 BUICK ENCORE HAS A TICKING FROM THE FUEL INJECTION. DEFINITELY IRRITATING. UIC DEALER SAID IT'S NOT A PROBLEM. THE NOISE WAS THERE WHEN I BOUGHT IT IN AUGUST, 8, 2017
MY ENGINE HAS BEEN MISFIRING AND BUICK REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, JERKING, AND GETTING STUCK IN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE BROUGHT IT IN TWICE TO HAVE IT FIXED WITH PROOF THAT THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT IS ON, AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I EMAILED THE MANAGER IN SERVICE, AND HE SAID THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN DO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 BUICK ENCORE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CARL BLACK CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (1110 ROBERTS BLVD, KENNESAW, GA 30144 (770) 424-2200), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED DUE TO A DEAD BATTERY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING TOWED, THE KEYS WERE LEFT IN THE IGNITION AND CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DIE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE AUTOMATICALLY RESET ITSELF AS A RESULT OF THE DEAD BATTERY THAT NEEDED TO BE RECHARGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V146000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.
WE HAD JUST LEFT THE GROCERY STORE, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING, AND LESS THAN A MILE INTO OUR TRIP HOME SOMETHING FAILED BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL OF THE CAR THAT CAUSED HOT LIQUID (COOLANT?) TO POUR ONTO MY LOWER LEG AND FOOT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FOOT WELL. THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY BEEN RUNNING FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THE COOLANT WASN'T AT ITS FULL OPERATING TEMPERATURE, SO THE BURN WAS NO WORSE THAN A COFFEE SPILL AND DIDN'T CAUSE SIGNIFICANT INJURY. IF THE VEHICLE HAD FULLY WARMED UP AND THE COOLANT WAS 200+ DEGREES, I WOULD HAVE BEEN BURNED VERY BADLY. I JUST WANT GM TO KNOW THAT THIS HAPPENED SO THAT MAYBE THEY CAN PUT SOMETHING IN PLACE TO PREVENT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SEVERELY BURNED .
MY CAR WAS IN MOTION GOING APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH WHEN IT HIT A STATIONARY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAS ABLE TO HIT MY BRAKES BUT STILL HIT THE CAR IN ALMOST FULL FORCE, HEAD ON. WE WERE TOLD BY BUICK DEALERS THAT THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT SEE THIS AS AN ISSUE. HOWEVER, BOTH MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN STARTLED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS IN WAYS THAT WE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED BEFORE. WE CONSIDER OURSELVES TO BE VERY SAFE DRIVERS AN HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 20 YEARS IN THE US WITH NO ACCIDENT CLAIMS. NONE OF THE VEHICLES WE HAVE OWNED OR DRIVEN HAD BEEN THIS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WE HAVE COME CLOSE TO HITTING STOPPED VEHICLES BEHIND US AT TRAFFIC SIGNALS. 2. IN ADDITION, REAR VISIBILITY THROUGH THE SMALL WINDOWS IS CHALLENGING WHICH IS FURTHER OBSTRUCTED BY COLUMNS. 3. ALSO, REAR VISIBILITY THROUGH THE REAR VIEW CAMERA IS POOR UNDER NORMAL DAYLIGHT CONDITIONS DUE TO THE POOR RESOLUTION. AS A RESULT OF THE ABOVE POINTS, IT'S VERY UNNERVING WHEN ONE IS CAUGHT ON THE DRIVER SEAT WITH THE VEHICLE MOVING BACKWARDS UNEXPECTEDLY. FINALLY, THE INEVITABLE HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE MET WITH AN ACCIDENT AS A RESULT OF THIS. THE VEHICLE WHICH USUALLY GOES FORWARD WITH FEET OFF ACCELERATOR ON A MILD SLOPED DRIVEWAY IN FRONT OF OUR HOUSE, ROLLED BACKWARDS IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE. THE STARTLED DRIVER ERRED ON THE SIDE OF SAFETY BY PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO MOVE THE VEHICLE FORWARD SINCE THERE WERE CHILDREN PLAYING AROUND. HOWEVER, WITH LIMITED ROOM TO MANEUVER, THE VEHICLE ENDED UP HITTING OUR GARAGE DOOR. THE REPAIR HAS BEEN ESTIMATED AT $6000 +. $1500 FOR THE GARAGE DOOR. WE FIRMLY BELIEVE THIS IS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE VEHICLE OPERATIONAL DESIGN. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR DRIVING. WE HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE INCIDENT IN 20 YEARS OF DRIVING WITH ANY OF THE CARS WE OWNED OR RENTED.

I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR AND MY LOCAL GMC BUICK DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SENSOR BECAUSE THE MECHANIC THAT WORKED ON IT SAT IN IT AT 220LBS AND IT TURNED ON FOR HIM JUST FINE. PLUS THEY SAID THEY ARE RECEIVING NO ERROR CODES ON IT. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLES AIR BAG WHEN AN AVERAGE SIZE PERSON WEIGHING OVER 130LBS CANNOT RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT WITHOUT AIRBAG PROTECTION. THERE HAS TO BE A FIX TO THIS AS IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR A PASSENGER UNDER 200LBS TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHILE THE AIR BAG IS OFF! I PREVIOUSLY OWNED A TOYOTA AND IT WOULD TURN ON THE PASSENGER AIR BAG EVEN IF MY 13YR OLD SAT IN IT AT 100LBS.
MY VEHICLE'S AWD DISABLED WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK APPROXIMATELY 5PM DURING A SNOWSTORM (I WAS ABOUT 9 MINUTES AWAY FROM MY HOME AFTER DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY 25 MINUTES). LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, I TRIED TO STAY IN THE CENTER OF THE ROAD UNTIL I REACHED FLAT ROAD WITHOUT INCLINES, DIPS AND CURVES, WHEN I WAS ABLE TO SLIDE BACK INTO MY LANE. MY VEHICLE WAS CONSTANTLY PULLING ITSELF OFF THE ROAD AND HEADING TOWARDS THE GUARDRAILS. THE AWD DID NOT RECOVER AND I HAD NO CONTROL OVER MY VEHICLE. I JUST BARELY MANAGED TO GET THE VEHICLE UP THE LAST INCLINE AND INTO MY STREET/DRIVEWAY. THE NEXT MORNING, THE AWD WAS RESTORED. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT MY AWD DISABLED. THE FIRST TIME IT DISABLED WAS EARLIER THAT YEAR, APPROXIMATELY JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2016, DURING A SNOWSTORM ON MY MORNING COMMUTE UP THE SAME ROAD. DURING THIS FIRST TIME, I HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 6 MINUTES WHEN THE AWD DISABLED. I SLID SIDEWAYS UP THE INCLINE BUT MANAGED TO KEEP THE CAR IN MY LANE, ALTHOUGH IT WAS SLIDING FREQUENTLY..EVENTUALLY I REACHED A FLAT STRETCH OF ROAD WHEN THE AWD RESTORED ITSELF APPROXIMATELY WITHIN 15 MINUTES. BOTH DRIVING EXPERIENCES WHEN THE AWD DISABLED WERE INCREDIBLY FRIGHTENING. I SIMPLY THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. I REPORTED THE SECOND AND MOST RECENT INSTANCE TO MY CAR DEALERSHIP, WHO STATED THAT THERE IS NO FIX AND NO RECALL. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE ALL-SEASON TIRES WHICH ARE MORE THAN SUFFICIENT AND ADEQUATE TO DEAL WITH WINTER WEATHER DRIVING. *TR

DRIVING ON FREEWAY, APPROX 74 MPH IN A 75 ZONE. ABOUT 1.5 HOURS IN TO A 2.5 HOUR TRIP. ALL SYSTEMS WERE FUNCTIONING AND NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON. CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER ON GAS PEDAL , POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , ALL GAUGES ARE FUNCTIONING ERRATICALLY AND THEN ALL GAUGES STOPPED OR WENT TO ZERO. LIGHT INDICTATING THE TRANSMISSION GEAR KEPT CHANGING. BUT THE CARS TRANNY DIDN'T SHIFT OR CHANGE JUST THE LIGHT FOR THE GEAR INDICATOR WASFLASHING. CAR SLOWED TO APPROX. 40 MPH, WITH THE RPM'S RACING TO APPROX. 4500/6000. ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AND NOT OVER HEATING OR ANY OTHER LIGHTS EXCEPT CHECK ENGINE AND POWER STEERING LIGHT. STOPPED CAR ON SHOULDER TO TAKE INVENTORY OF SITUATION, CAR RUNNING AND IDILE RPM'S SEEMED NORMAL CHK. ENGINE AND POWER STEERING LIGHT STILL ON, PROCEEDED TO DRIVE AGAIN . NO LEAKS OR OVERHEATING . ALL GAUGES CAME BACK UP/ ON. PROCEED TO DRIVE ... CAR HAD NO ACCELERATION , VERY LITTLE , LIKE THE CAR WAS STILL IN A HIGHER GEAR . SPEED UP VERY SLOWLY UNTIL IT REACHED APPROX 55-60 MPH. BUT THE RPM'S WERE AT 5500/6000 , FELT LIKE THE TRANNY NEEDED TO SHIFT BUT WOULDN'T. SLOWED DOWN TO APPROX. 35-40 .. TO GET RPM'S IN LINE OR MORE IN LINE. DROVE HOME LAST HOUR ON SIDE ROADS AND FRONTAGE ROADS WITH FLASHERS ON. CAN'T DRIVE THAT SLOW ON A FREEWAY. ALL OF CAR FUNCTIONAL WERE NORMALS , AC , RADIO ,WINDOWS , LIGHTS . JUST THE POWER STEERING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON WITH NO ACCELERATION POWER OR POWER STEERING ....CALLED DEALER MONDAY MORNING FOR A TOW INTO THE SHOP .

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE GROUND CABLE AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REWIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES: THREE WHEN THEIR DAUGHTER OPERATED THE VEHICLE AND ONCE WHILE THE CONTACT OPERATED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHSTA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V146000 (STEERING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION; HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
GENERAL MOTORS NEVER NOTIFIED ME OF A RECALL ON MY 2015 BUICK ENCORE IN SEPT 2016. I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL BY READING IT IN THE NEWSPAPER. IT INVOLVED THE AIR BAG. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY MADE THE REPAIR. I CALLED GM AND ASKED WHY THEY DIDN'T NOTIFY ME. THEY HAD NO GOOD ANSWER AS TO WHY. ONE OF THE PEOPLE I TALKED TO SAID THE REASON WAS BECAUSE THE RECALL WAS BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CAR ( I BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEB 2015) THIS MAKES NO SENSE. MY LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME THE RECALL WAS MADE ON 9SEP 2016. THE BUICK WEB SITE HAD ANOTHER PERSON ASKING A QUESTION ABOUT THIS RECALL AND STATED THEY NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE.THE ANSWER GIVEN WAS CALL YOUR BUICK DEALER. AIR BAG RECALLS ARE VERY SERIOUS AND I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD BE THE ONE TO NOTIFY EVER ONE.
