TO ALL 2005 BUICK LACROSSE OWNERS. IF YOU ARE HEARING A GRUMBLING NOISE LIKE SAND BETWEEN BRAKE PAD AND ROTOR, YOU MAY HAVE THE DEFECTIVE BRAKE PADS. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THESE PADS. I HAD MINE REPLACED WHEN THE CAR HAD 5000 MILES ON IT. GM WILL NOT NOTIFY THEIR CUSTOMERS ON THIS ITEM. YOU WILL HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP AND COMPLAIN LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE RELATED TO THE BUICK PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE HAD. *JB
REFLECTION OF CROME TRIM AND SUN REFLECTION OFF SILVER TRIM ON FRONT DASHBOARD REFLECTS ON DRIVER AND PASS. FRONT DOOR AND INTERFERES WITH EXTERIOR MIRRORS.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN WOBBLING EXCESSIVELY AND THE STEERING COLUMN WAS DIFFICULT TO OPERATE. THE DEALER ROTATED THE TIRES AND ADJUSTED THE ALIGNMENT. THREE WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THE FAILURES RECURRED. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,470. CONSUMER NOTICED A SOFT SPOT LOCATED ON THE VEHICLE TRUNK LID. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER TOOK CONSUMER TO INSPECT SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES WHICH HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT WAS THE NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THAT VEHICLE. *AK TRUNK LID MADE NOISE WHEN THE CONSUMER TOUCHED IT. THE CONSUMER WANTS MFG. TO CHECK CAR TO BE SURE IT'S SAFE IN CASE OF A REAR ENDED CRASH. *BF *NM
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED STEERING WHEELJERKED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
BUICK LACROSSE CXL EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE ONSTAR SYSTEM. *MR ONSTAR HAD COME ON WHEN THE CONSUMER DID NOT ACTIVATE IT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, ON STAR HAD COME ON AND CONTINUED WITH "ONSTAR READY-GOODBYE," AND WOULD NOT STOP EVEN WHEN TURNED OFF. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A GLITCH. *SC THE CONSUMER RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ANTOHER VEHICLE WAS ORDERED, HOWVER BEFORE THE CONSUMER COULD EVEN GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE LOT THE ON STAR SYSTEM FAILED ON THAT VEHICLE AS WELL. *JB
WHEN ENGAGING THE CRUISE CONTROL AT 55 - 60 MPH, SUDDENLY THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES. *JB *NM
WHEN ENGAGING THE CRUISE CONTROL AT 55 - 60 MPH, SUDDENLY THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES.*AK THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUTS DOWN AFTER 60 SECONDS. *TC
THE RIGHT AND LEFT EXTERIOR MIRRORS EXPERIENCE A REFLECTION THAT IS VERTICALLY GOING THROUGH THEM. HOWEVER, IT DISAPPEARS WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, THERE IS A HORIZONTAL CHROME STRIP THAT GOES THROUGH THE INTERIOR MIRROR WHICH IS VERY DISTRACTING. *AL THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE WAS A REFLECTION AT THE TOP OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. ALL REFLECTIONS WERE CAUSED BY THE CHROME STRIP ON THE DASHBOARD. *TC
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD, SPEEDOMETER/FUEL GAUGE, AND ODOMETER FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO SEE HOW FAST HE WAS DRIVING. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. HOWEVER, MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE AIR BAG SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT IS SHOWING, AIR BAG OFF. PASSENGER WEIGHS 90 LBS, AND THE SENSOR STILL READS THE SAME. THIS MEANS THAT FRONT PASSENGER DOES NOT HAVE AN AIR BAG. MANUFACTURER STATED THEY WILL TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON.*AK GENERAL MOTORS HAS AGREED TO REPURCHASE THE VEHICLE. *BF *NM
THE ANGLE OF THE WINDSHIELD RESULTS IN A REFLECTION OFF THE DASH ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. THIS CAUSES POOR VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING ON BRIGHT SUNNY DAYS. 2005 BUICK LACROSS *TS *NM
