TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH WHEN COMING TO A STOP, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. ON ONE OCCASION, WHEN THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKE AND SHIFTED INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO COULD PROVIDE NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES BUT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,591.
2006 BUICK LUCERNE, TRAVELING 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, ENGINE STOPS, DASH GIVES REDUCED ENGINE POWER CHECK THROTTLE AND THEN GIVES A CHECK TRACTION CONTROL WARNINGS, NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. ENGINE WILL NOT RESTART UNTIL BATTERY HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED TO RESET SYSTEM, PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE CAUSED BY A GROUNDING PROBLEM OR HIGH RESISTANCE CONNECTION SOME WHERE. NO ERROR CODES STORED. CAR HAS DONE THIS SO MANY TIMES I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. *TR

THE TIRES CONTINUE TO LOSE AIR REQUIRING FREQUENT REFILLS. I AM TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE WHEELS AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO BUY NEW ONES AT OVER TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS. CAUSES THE CAR TO STEER HARD AND WEAR ON THE TIRES. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR LOOSES ALL ENGINE POWER AND WILL JUST ROLL AND THIS CONTINUES FOR UP TO 2-10 SECONDS. YOU DO HAVE PS,PB AND ALL ELECTRIC ITEMS THE ENGINE JUST FALLS TO A IDLE.THEN THE ENGINE RACES FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN IT RECOVERS. YOU HAVE NO IDEA THIS IS HAPPEN UNTIL YOU FELL THE CAR IS NOT POWERING. WE OWNED THE CAR SINCE NEW IN 06. THIS HAPPEN SEVERAL TIME WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW NOW 2.5 YEARS LATTER IT IS STARTING THIS AGAIN. MY VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT. IT HAS DONE THIS SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR LAST SUMMER. BEFORE I BOUGHT IT THE DEALERSHIP PUT NEW TIRES AND ALIGNED THE VEHICLE. IT STILL SLIGHTLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND HAS WORSENED SINCE. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER 3 TIMES SINCE TO CHECK FOR RECALLS OR GET THEIR OPINION ABOUT IF THE ALIGNMENT SHOULD BE CHECKED AGAIN. I AM AFRAID IT IS CAUSING UNEVEN WEAR ON MY NEW TIRES AND IT IS QUITE IRRITATING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION OR TURN THE KEY TO START THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE BEGAN TO RECUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER HAD TO BE MOVED BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN VARIOUS GEARS BEFORE REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIANS STATED THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED A SECOND TIME AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE GEAR SHIFT SWITCH IN THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
THE REAR PASSENGER AND/OR DRIVER SIDE DOOR(S) WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. IT IS AS THOUGH THE LOCKING MECHANISMS ARE NOT ENGAGING EITHER DOOR. *TR
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER. VEHICLE AIR BAG MODULE AND CONNECTOR REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY.SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES OVER PAST FEW MONTHS. CURRENTLY LIGHT IS BACK ON AND CONTINUES TO STAY ON. THIS RECURRING SITUATION INDICATES A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIR BAG SYSTEM THAT SHOULD QUALIFY FOR A RECALL. THE INTEGRITY OF THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IS OBVIOUSLY IN QUESTION AND PERSONAL SAFETY IS BEING COMPROMISED. *TR

CHROME WHEELS CORRODING IN VALVE STEM OPENINGS CAUSING TIRES TO LEAK AIR PRESSURE. VALVE STEM OPENING CORRODING AWAY AND NOT ENOUGH MATERIAL LEFT TO SEAL VALVE STEM IN PLACE! *TR
06 BUICK LUCERNE PURCHASED 12-3-09, DIES OUT COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CAR HAS SHUT OFF ON THE HIGHWAY 3 TIMES WITH A CHILD IN THE CAR. IT HAS OCCURRED A TOTAL OF 7 TIMES BETWEEN1-08-10 AND 4-17-10. THE CAR IS UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND HAS BEEN SERVICED 7 TIMES BY 3 DIFFERENT BUICK DEALERSHIPS. *TR
ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY '06 BUICK LUCERNE (3.8 L)WENT INTO UNCONTROLABLE EXCELLERATION. ON LONG ROAD TRIPS, WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED AND DOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, WHEN I EXCELLERATEDHARD, INSTEAD OF RETURNING TO THE CRUISE SPEED IT SEEMED TO LOCK INTO A PASSING GEAR. BRAKING DIDN'T STOP IT, PUTTING IT INTO DID NOT SLOW THE ENGINE REVS., HOWEVER TURNING OFF THE KEY AND RESTARTING AFTER COASTING A LITTLE WHILE WORKED ONCE OR TWICE TO STOP THE REVS.. THE OTHER TIMES I HIT THE BRAKES REALLY HARD AND IT DISENGAGED THE CRUISE AND EXCELLERATION PROBLEM. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE, SINCE I HAD ROOM ON THE HIGHWAY TO DO THIS. THE BUICK DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR SAID THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE WHEN THEY TRIED. THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES ON THE CAR WHEN THE LAST INCIDENT OCURRED. PS TURNING OFF THE CRUISE SWITCH DIDN'T HELP EITHER.
I PULLED UP TO THE BACK OF THE BUILDING WHERE I WORK TO PARK. AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE, THE CAR SHOT FORWARD OUT OF CONTROL. PUTTING BRAKES TO THE FLOOR DID NOT STOP IT. THE BUILDING STOPPED IT. WHEN I BACKED AWAY, THE CAR SHOT BACKWARD OUT OF CONTROL AND STOPPED WHEN IT HIT A STORAGE UNIT. THE LOCAL BUICK DEALER CONDUCTED A THOROUGH INSPECTION OF THE 2006 BUICK LUCERNE AND COULD NOT FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. *TR
THE BRAKES WHEN APPLYING COMING DOWN HILLS MAKE THE FRONT END SHIMMY AND SHAKE AND IT DOES NOT WANT TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN ACCORDING TO THE BRAKE PRESSURE BEING APPLIED. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND I CALLED THE DEALER HERE IN BUTTE, MT AND THEY SAID SHE THINKS THIS IS THE WAY IT IS. THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN SOMEWHAT WORSE AS TIME AND USE OF THE BRAKES INCREASE AND IT IS BECOMING AS MAJOR ISSUE FOR US. WE LOVE THE CAR BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE CAR HAS 45800 MILES AS OF NOW. WE PURCHASED IT NEW IN 2006. *TR
MY 2006 LUCERNE WITH V-6 ENGINE HAS 80,000 MILES ON IT. RECENTLY IT HAS DEVELOPED A PRONOUNCED "BUMP} IN THE STEERING WHEN I DRIVE SLOWLY IN MY DRIVEWAY OR IN A PARKING LOT. I HAVE INSPECTED THE TIE RODS AND OTHER LINKAGE UNDER THE CAR BUT SEE OR FEEL NOTHING OBVIOUSLY AMISS. MY LOCAL TIRE STORE SAID THIS IS CHARACTERISTIC OF SEVERAL GM CARS HE SERVICES. HE SAID THE PROBLEM IS A WORN PLASTIC BUSHING IN THE STEERING COLUMN MECHANISM. ALSO, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES ARE VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO READ IN THE DAYTIME! *TR
A PUDDLE APPEARED IN THE DRIVEWAY WHERE THE 2006 BUICK LUCERNE IS PARKED. THE PUDDLE LOOKED LIKE POWER STEERING FLUID AND AFTER GETTING UNDER THE CAR, A POWER STEERING LEAK WAS DETECTED. I SEARCHED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2006 BUICK LUCERNE WITH A V8 ENGINE WHICH SAID THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE CONNECTORS WERE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED WHICH WOULD CAUSE A LEAK. I CALLED BUICK ABOUT THIS AND THEY SAID THAT MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT MEETS THE YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL REQUIREMENTS AND HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THE RECALL IS FOR. *TR
WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN MY BUICK LUCERNE'S EXTERIOR DRIVER-SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR IS USELESS DUE TO THE WASH OF WATER STREAMING ACROSS THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE TRAFFIC IN THE LEFT LANE AND IN ORDER TO CHANGE LANES I MUST RELY ON THE INTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR. THIS LOSS OF VISIBILITY OCCURS WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A WIND CONDITION, BUT IT IS MOST DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH WINDSHIELD WIPERS PUSHING WATER TOWARD THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF NEAR MISSES DURING DAYLIGHT DRIVING CONDITIONS. *TR
RECENTLY NOTICED WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THAT THE PEDAL WILL SLOWLY SINK TO THE FLOOR CAUSING MY FOOT TO BE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. AT A STOP LIGHT IT CAUSES THE ANTI BRAKES TO COME ON AND TO PROCEED THROUGH THE STOP LIGHT. *TR
2006 BUICK LUCERNE - STEERING HAS SHORT LOOSENESS WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEED. UNDER WARRANTY, DEALER CORRECTED THE SAME ISSUE APPROXIMATELY YEAR AND HALF AGO, BUT PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. WILL SOON RETURN TO DEALER FOR SERVICE AGAIN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES ON HIS VEHICLE VIBRATE SEVERELY AND CONTINUE TO FAIL. WHENEVER HE IS DRIVING AND COMING TO A STOP, THE BRAKES VIBRATE AND SHIMMY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOSES CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT VEERS ACROSS THE ROAD. THE DEALER HAS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
DOOR LOCKS JAM AND CAN'T OPEN DOOR. LOCKS CAN NOT BE MANUALLY OPENED. LOCKED IN VEHICLE. REPORTED 8/21/08 AND FIXED. 2/16/10 BROKE AND I HAD TO PAY $400. 6/25/13 BROKE 3RD TIME AND GM REFUSED TO REFUND ME $400 AND SAID VEHICLE HAD TOO MUCH MILEAGE. I WAS TOLD TO BUY A NEW CAR. NUMEROUS REPORTS OF FAULTY LOCKS ON INTERNET. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAS MOISTURE VAPORS COVERING THE HIGH AND LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, HIS HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT SHINING BRIGHT ENOUGH. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS SHOULD CLEAR UP WITHIN TWO TO SIX HOURS AND WORK PROPERLY AGAIN. NO REPAIR WAS NEEDED BECAUSE THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,400.
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS VERY DIFFICULT TO READ DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. YOU CAN ONLY READ THE ODOMETER. YOU CAN'T READ THE TACH AND THE FUEL AND ENGINE TEMP GAUGES. AT NIGHT WITH THE DASH LIGHTS ON EVERYTHING IS FINE. THE 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU HAS THE SAME TYPE OF INSTRUMENT PANEL BUT DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM DUE TO LIGHTING IN THE GAUGES DURING THE DAY AND NIGHT. *TR
2006 BUICK LUCERNE BROKEN REAR DOOR LATCH. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH JAMMED. MECHANIC STATED THAT THE LATCHES WERE ON BACKORDER. THEN THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR BEGAN TO JAM. DEALER WOULD NOT COVER THE COST. *KB

SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE. SHE WAS ADVISED TO HAVE THE DEALER MAKE THE REPAIRS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH ONE OF THE COMPUTERS IN THE VEHICLE THAT COULD PREVENT THE AIR BAGS FROM DEPLOYING IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. DURING THIS TIME, THE CONTACT HEARD A VERY LOUD CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COMPONENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT, BUT THE MANUFACTURER IS REFUSING RESPONSIBILITY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
LEFT REAR RIM, VALVE STEM AND TWO WHEEL WEIGHTS REPLACED. CHROME COMING OFF DUE TO POOR QUALITY. CAUSING FREQUENT BALANCING OF TIRES AND ADJUSTMENT OF WHEEL WEIGHTS. VIBRATION PROBLEMS SINCE 10/24/06. FEBRUARY 22, 2008, TECH REPLACED LEFT FRONT AND RIGHT REAR WHEEL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. MAY 7, 2008, TECH REPLACED RIGHT FRONT WHEEL FROM PEELING CHROME. EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS NOW. VIBRATION IN CAR AT 50 MPH. TIRES DO NOT STAY BALANCED DUE TO FLAKING OFF CHROME. TECHNICIAN WILL NOT ROTATE TIRES DUE TO SAFETY ISSUE. HAVE DOCUMENTATION, PICTURES AND STATEMENTS FROM TECHNICIAN AND GARAGE ATTENDANTS. BUICK COMPANY WILL DO NOTHING FOR US BECAUSE OUR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. RIMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. *TR
DURING BRAKING ON ANY STEEP DECLINE, THE BRAKES SHUDDER( VIBRATE) TO THE POINT THAT THE STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO HANDLE. THE VEHICLE FEELS THAT CONTROL COULD BE LOST ABOVE SPEEDS OF 40 MPH
2006 BUICK LUCERNE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SAFETY PROBLEM. CUSTOMER STATES THAT HE WAS TRYING TO PARK WHEN THE ABS ENGAGED. HE STATED HE PRESSED HARDER ON THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR DID NOT STOP AND THE ABS CONTINUED TO PUMP THE BRAKES AND THE STOPPING DISTANCE WAS GREATLY EXTENDED. *KB THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND SUBSEQUENTLY HE CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WAS MINIMAL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ABS SHOULD HAVE NEVER KICKED IN ON A DRY, ASPHALT SURFACE. *JB
BOUGHT THE CAR "NEW" ON 7/4/07. ON 7/8/07 THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR. TOOK THE CAR TO A BUICK DEALER WHERE THEY FIXED A DEFECTIVE PART. DROVE THE CAR HOME THAT NIGHT AND THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. BROUGHT THE CAR TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP TODAY. I'VE OWNED THE CAR FOR 11 DAYS AND IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP 8 DAYS AND COUNTING. *TR

THE FACTORY REPAIR KIT IMPROVED THE DAYTIME VISIBILITY OF THE MESSAGE CENTER BUT STILL NOT AS BRIGHT AS THE GAUGES AND NEEDLES. THE CENTER GLASS LENS REFLECTION OF THE STEERING WHEEL BATHED BY THE SUN FROM THE WINDOWS STILL OVERWHELMS THE MESSAGE DISPLAY AND WHEN DRIVER IS WEARING SUNGLASSES IS COMPLETELY UNREADABLE. THIS COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT WHILE TRYING TO READ IT. *TR
AUTO PULLS TO THE RIGHT. STEERING SLUGGISH, CANNOT GO OVER 40 MPH WITHOUT FRONT END VIBRATES. FEELS LIKE UNBALANCED WHEELS, BUT I HAD THAT DONE. DEALER CHANGED TIRES, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *TR
WHEN BRAKING DOWN HILL THE ROTORS WARP MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP IN AN EMERGENCY. DEALERSHIP PAID FOR THE SECOND REPAIR, CAR WAS ABOUT A YEAR OLD, SAYING IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN, LIGHTWEIGHT ROTORS, CALIPERS AND BRAKE PADS. LUCKILY I LIVE IN AN AREA THAT IS FLAT. EVERY TIME I GO OUT OF TOWN I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS FEAR AND A REPAIR JOB. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SAID I NEEDED TO UPGRADE TO HEAVY DUTY ROTORS AND CALIPERS. SAID THIS TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM IN A CADILLAC WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. IT'S A 2K FIX BUT DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX IT BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN AM HEAVY ON THE BRAKES DOWNHILL AND THAT HIS WIFE CAN'T DRIVE EITHER. ALSO SAID THEY WON'T FIX THE DEFECT DUE TO ME TAKING THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. I HAD TO AS THEY KEPT TURNING THE ROTORS EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN ONLY BE TURNED 2 X. THE DEALER MADE REPAIRS AND THE LIGHT DIMMED, HOWEVER, IT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR. A MECHANIC STATED THAT A WIRE TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND CAUSED THE ILLUMINATION. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
I OWN A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE VEHICLE SLOWS AS IF IT IS GOING TO STALL AND CUT OFF, IT PICKS UP SPEED ON ITS OWN ,AND WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE CUTS OFF. IT PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THAT MOST OF MY TRAVELING IS DONE VIA THE EXPRESSWAY. WHEN THE CAR SLOWS DOWN I AM AT THE MERCY OF THE DRIVER BEHIND ME. IF HE IS GOING TOO FAST AND TAIL GATES THEN I AM SURE TO BE REAR-ENDED. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FIVE TIMES,AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED NOTHING. SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER DROVE VEHICLE WHILE IN SHOP FOR FIFTH TIME AND EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM. BECAUSE DIAGNOSTICS STILL DOESN'T RECOGNIZE A PROBLEM HE SAYS THEY ARE HAVING TO CALL IN AN EXPERT TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF SHOP SINCE APRIL 3, 2007, AND EACH TIME THE ENGINEERS FROM GM SUPPOSEDLY WERE IN CONSULTATION WITH SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS RANDOMLY WITH NO WARNING. TL*- THE CONTACT HEARD A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE TRUNK OF THE 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON INSIDE THE VEHICLE TO OPEN THE TRUNK. THE CONTACT REACHED INTO THE TRUNK TO SEE WHAT WAS CAUSING THE RATTLING NOISE. ONCE INSIDE THE TRUNK, THE TWO TORSION BARS THAT HELD THE TRUNK LID OPEN FELL INSIDE THE TRUNK, CAUSING THE TRUNK LID TO FALL ONTO THE CONTACT'S BACK. THE TRUNK LID HAD TO BE OPENED BY OTHERS SO THAT HE COULD BE RELEASED FROM THE TRUNK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN A DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY REPLACED THE TORSION BARS, AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TORSION BARS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT STATED THERE HAVE BEEN NO OTHER INCIDENTS SINCE THE TORSION BARS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAD 14000 MILES. *AK UPDATED 03/30/07. *JB

WHEN I WASH MY WINDSHIELD, THE DRIVERS SIDE DOES NOT DISPENSE FLUID PROPERLY. THE FLUID POOLS ON THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD RATHER THAN IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. THIS REQUIRES OPERATION MUCH LONGER THAN NORMAL. IN AN ICE STORM ON FEBRUARY 14TH I HAD TO REFILL THE SYSTEM EVERY 25 MILES. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE LEFT WIPER ASSEMBLY. 2006 BUICK LUCERNE WITH A LIST OF CONCERNS /PROBLEMS**CC ON THE DAY OF PURCHASE THE CONSUMER'S NOTICED WIND NOISE FROM BOTH FRONT DOORS AND SCRATCHES ON THE WINDSHIELD. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO BUFF OUT THE SCRATCHES BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. GM APPROVED A WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT. WHILE DRIVING THE AUTOMATIC DRIVER'S SEAT STARTED MOVING UP ON IT'S OWN. THE SEAT WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL IT WAS AS FAR FORWARD AS IT COULD GO. THE CD PLAYER/RADIO REFUSED TO EJECT A CD, BUT AFTER TWO DAYS IT FINALLY RELEASED. THE RADIO WAS ALSO NOT WORKING DURING THIS TIME. THE CONSUMER MADE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. TRUNK DECK EXPLODED. WHEN THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON WAS PUSHED THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND THE TRUNK FLEW OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DOORS WERE READJUSTED TO STOP THE WIND NOISE. THE TECHNICIAN INDICATED HE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE SEAT. THEY ALSO COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CD/RADIO. WHEN THE TECHNICIAN PRESSED THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB, THE TRUNK DECK EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT THE DEALER TO BE SERVICED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE TRUNK PROBLEM. *NM
I OWN AN '06 BUICK LUCERNE CXS WITH DEFECTIVE MOTOR MOUNTS. THESE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE KNOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE AND MANY BULLETINS HAVE BEEN POSTED, ALONG WITH MANY KNOWN CUSTOMERS GETTING THEM REPLACED. I HOWEVER HAVE HAD BAD LUCK GETTING MY LOCAL BUICK DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THEM. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS WHILE TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. THE DEFECTIVE MOUNTS CAUSE THE ENGINE TO VIBRATE AND SHAKE THE CAR. THIS TO ME SEEMS LIKE A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH AND WOULD LIKE TO GET THESE MOUNTS REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *TR
AFTER MY 2006 BUICK LUCERNE CXS SITS FOR AWHILE, 10-12 HOURS, I GET A REALLY BAD VIBRATION OUT OF THE CAR. IT SHAKES THE ENTIRE CAR AS IF IT IS GOING TO FALL APART. AFTER 5-10 MINUTES OF DRIVING IT SMOOTHES OUT A BIT BUT DOESN'T COMPLETELY GO AWAY. MOSTLY NOTICEABLE WHEN ITS COLD OUT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIRES WITH THE SAME BRAND AND MODEL, BUT THE VERY NEXT DAY, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE NEW TIRES. I HAVE TALKED TO THE 2 DEALERS, BUICK CUSTOMER SUPPORT, BRIDGESTONE CONSUMER LINE, A FIRESTONE CORP. CENTER, AND BUICK AGAIN, ALL THEY CAN SAY IS THE TIRES WERE MADE THAT WAY AND THERE IS NO DEFECT. NO ONE WANTS TO STAND UP AND TAKE BLAME. NOW I OWN A NEW $42,000 VEHICLE THAT THEY SAY IS NORMAL TO HAVE THIS VIBRATION WITHIN THE FIRST 5-10 MINUTES OF DRIVING, AND NEVER COMPLETELY GOES AWAY. I ALSO NOTICE IT WHEN DRIVING ON CURVED ROADS AT HIGHER SPEEDS, FROM TIME TO TIME THE CAR FLOATS OR SUDDENLY TURNS SLIGHTLY ON ITS OWN WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS 50-60 MPH. THE VEHICLE DIDN'T STALL, BUT WHEN PUTTING THE FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THIS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIDN'T COME ON ,AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE ONLY HAD A CURRENT ODOMETER READING OF 9,500 MILES, AND FELT THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. DURING HIS SECOND TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY INSTALLED A VEHICLE EVENT DATA RECORDER, AND HE HAS BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO DEALER ON FOUR OTHER OCCASIONS, AND HAS CAUGHT FOUR SNAP SHOTS WITH THE DATA RECORDING SYSTEM. THE DEALER INSTALLED A NEW POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE, AND THE VEHICLE RAN WELL FOR A MONTH, BUT THE SAME PROBLEMS RECURRED, THE VEHICLE'S ACCELERATED AGAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,500.*AK
I PURCHASED A NEW 2006 BUICK LUCERNE CXL, THE DASH BOARD DATA SHOWING THE SPEEDOMETER, ODOMETER, ETC., IS LIGHTED AT NIGHT AND INCLEMENT WEATHER. ON SUNNY DAYS THE LIGHTS GO OUT, ALL THE ITEMS MENTIONED ARE NOT VISIBLE. IT CREATES A HAZARD SINCE IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO TELL THE SPEED. MY HUSBAND GOT A SPEEDING TICKET FOR TRAVELING AT 9 MPH ABOVE THE POSTED LIMIT. THE POTENTIAL FOR AN ACCIDENT IS EXACERBATED BECAUSE READING ANY OF THE DATA WHILE DRIVING IS IMPOSSIBLE. ALSO THE PASSENGER'S VIEW OF THESE ITEMS IS OBSCURED SO THAT THE ABILITY TO ACT AS A CO- PILOT IS ELIMINATED. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE DEVICE THAT TURNS THESE LIGHTS OFF COULD BE MODIFIED TO KEEP THEM LIT. I ENTERED A COMPLAINT THE SAME WEEK I PURCHASED THE CAR AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE, NOR CAN I GET ANY INFORMATION FROM BUICK TO INDICATE THEY ARE WORKING ON A SOLUTION. *NM

THE CONSUMER STATED IF HE IS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, HE OR THE PASSENGERS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT. THE PASSENGERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT UNTIL THE SWITCH IS OPERATED OR PULLS UP THE MANUAL LOCK POST , THEN THEY CAN UNLOCK THE DOOR BY PULLING THE DOOR HANDLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AROUND A CURVE THE STEERING WHEEL CAME BACK TO THE CENTER, BUT IT STILL DRIFTED 3 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE MUST KEEP PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THE DEALER HAS DONE 3 FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENTS AND BALANCED THE TIRES.
