THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
RED LIGHT WARNING INDICATED THAT AIRBAG NEEDED SERVICING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE CAR WAS PURCHASED. DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THIS. SEEMS STRANGE THAT A 5 YR. OLD AUTOMOBILE WITH LOW MILEAGE SHOULD NEED A WHOLE NEW SYSTEM OR HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THEY DID REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE STEERING GEAR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. 1/14/13 STEERING WAS SQUEALING AND POPPING WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL. DEALERSHIP REPLACED STEERING GEAR RESET TOE. CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY. 8/28/13 STEERING WAS SQUEALING AND POPPING WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL. DEALERSHIP REPLACED INTERMEDIATE SHAFT. CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY. 7/22/15 STEERING SQUEALING WHEN TURNING. A DIFFERENT GARAGE FROM ABOVE WILL REPLACE STEERING RACK ON 7/25/15. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE REASON FOR HAVING BASICALLY THE SAME STEERING PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS LATEST REPAIR. I FEEL AS IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE MANUFACTURING OF THIS PRODUCT AND NEEDS ATTENTION. UPDATED 12/05/2017*CN

THE BUICK WAS IN MY GARAGE WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE HOUSE, BEFORE GOING TO BED I ALWAYS OPEN THE DOOR TO THE GARAGE TO BE SURE THE GARAGE DOOR IS DOWN AND THE FLAG IS INSIDE. DID SO THAT NIGHT AND ALL WAS NORMAL. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR TO THE GARAGE TO PUT THE BIG DOOR UP AND THE FLAG OUT THE GARAGE WAS VERY WARM. NO OTHER INDICATION OF A PROBLEM, ASSUMED HE FURNACE HAD ACTED UP. WE TOOK THE CAR TO HAVE BREAKFAST DID NOTICE THE HOOD WAS VERY WARM AS IF THE CAR HAD BEEN RUNNING (I DO NOT HAVE A SENSE OF SMELL SO DID NOT SMELL AN EXHAUST) FUEL WAS VERY LOW ( I WONDERED IF THERE WAS ENOUGH TO GET TO A SERVICE STATION) FILLED HE CAR HAD BREAKFAST THEN CAME HOME NOT APPARENT PROBLEMS. LATER THAT MORNING MY WIFE USE THE CAR TO GO TO AN APPOINTMENT WHEN IT STARTED TO MISS, SHE PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND CALLED AAA WHO TOWED THE CAR TO THE NEAREST BUICK DEALER. THE CAR IS THERE NOW, THEY HAD NO YET DETERMINED THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE UNABLE TO KEEP THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF AIR PRESSURE AND THAT THE TPMS WARNING LAMP CONTINUED TO FLASH EACH TIME THE TIRES LOST AIR PRESSURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FACTORY WHEEL WELLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TIRES WERE RUSTED AND CORRODED AND LEAKED CONTINUOUSLY. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE COATING WAS PEELING AND THAT THE TIRES WERE REPLACED BY A TIRE REPAIR SHOP, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE TPMS WARNING LAMP CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE AFTER THE FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. VEHICLE WAS LEFT STANDING IN DRIVE BY MISTAKE. IT PROCEEDED WITHOUT A DRIVER AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE VEHICLE TRAVELED OVER A SHEET OF ICE ON AN INCLINE AND THE CONTACT SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SPUN OUT OF CONTROL UNTIL THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GUARD RAIL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT EYE, AND BRUISING TO THE BREAST AND SHOULDERS. THE CONTACT LATER SUFFERED MANY COMPLICATIONS FROM THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DECLINES TO PROVIDE AN EXPLANATION REGARDING THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
2009 BUICK LUCERNE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDING BRAKE ROTOR ISSUES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HE APPLIED THE BRAKE, THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED VIOLENTLY. THE NEXT DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED AND NEEDED TO BE RESURFACED AND THE FRONT PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER STATED NOT LESS THAN A MONTH PRIOR, EVERYTHING CHECK OUT FINE AND NOW 536 MILES LATER THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE CONSUMER NOT DOWN SHIFTING PROPERLY WHILE DRIVING ON DOWN GRADES. THE CONSUMER SHARED THE INFORMATION WITH A NUMBER OF MECHANICS WHO INDICATED THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO WHATEVER PROCEDURES WERE APPLIED DURING THE TIRE ROTATION, SUCH AS IMPROPER CALIBRATION ETC. *JB
ENGINE OIL LEAKS,TIMING COVER GASKET, OIL PAN GASKET-08/27/12 BOTH HEAD GASKETS-04/02/13 FOUND OIL ON GARAGE FLOOR TODAY. GOING TO DEALER 06/03/13. *TR
BOUGHT CAR WITH RAIN SENSITIVE WINDSHIELD WIPERS 7/09. REPLACED WINDSHIELD WITH RAIN SENSITIVE GLASS 7/10 DUE TO LARGE CRACK IN WINDSHIELD FROM A STONE OR ROCK. SEPT. 2010 I NOTED THAT THE AUTOMATIC WIPERS DIDN'T ALWAYS COME ON WHEN IT STARTED RAINING BUT I COULD MAKE THEM WORK MANUALLY IN THE HIGH SPEED SETTING ONLY. WHEN CAR IN FOR SERVICE AT GM DEALERSHIP, THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THEREFORE COULD NOT FIX IT. IN MARCH 2011, SERVICE TECH NOTED THAT WINDSHIELD GLASS WAS NOT STAMPED AS GM GLASS. SAID THEY COULD NOT CALL GM TECH SUPPORT OR CHECK THE SWITCH UNTIL WINDSHIELD IS REPLACED WITH OEM GLASS. I ELECTED NOT TO PURCHASE AS NEW WINDSHIELD AT THIS TIME. THE INTERMITTENT WIPER PROBLEM CONTINUED AND BECAME INCREASINGLY DANGEROUS IN ICE AND SNOW DRIVING. IN MARCH 2012 I HAD A NEW WINDSHIELD INSTALLED AT THE GM DEALERSHIP. THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE WIPER PROBLEM. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THIS TIME THEY CALLED GM TECH SUPPORT AND WERE ADVISED TO REPLACE THE MOTOR, WHICH THEY DID. THE AUTOMATIC WIPERS WORKED CORRECTLY UNTIL OCT. 2012 WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I WAS ADVISED THAT MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS NEEDED REPLACED AND I TOLD THEM TO GO AHEAD AND DO IT. TWO DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, THE WIPERS AGAIN DIDN'T COME ON AUTOMATICALLY. AGAIN, I COULD MANUALLY SWIPE THE WINDSHIELD ON HIGH SPEED ONLY. IN NOV. 2012 I TOOK CAR BACK TO SERVICE DEPT AT DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AS THE WIPERS WERE WORKING CORRECTLY ON THAT DAY. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT CALL GM TECH SUPPORT FOR ADVICE. WHICH LEADS ME TO FEELING LIKE I'M DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE---NEVER KNOWING IF THE WIPERS ARE GOING TO WORK CORRECTLY..
OUR NEW 2009 BUICK LUCERNE ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE CAR IT KEPT GOING FASTER FINALLY WE WERE ABLE TO CHANGE LANES AND PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL STILL IT WAS ACCELERATING FULL AND I THOUGH IT WOULD BLOW A ROD THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT WAS THE TURN OFF THE KEY. *TR
ON APRIL 27 WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON I-94 E IN OUR 2009 BUICK LUCERNE WITH 6,127 MILES ON IT. WHILE PULLING BACK ON I-94 THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE OUT OF CONTROL AND WE HELD THE BRAKES DOWN TO THE FLOOR BUT IT WOULD NOT STOP IT. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND GET OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT THE CAR WAS STILL WIDE OPEN. I HAVE NOTIFIED GM AND THEY SENT US ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT PEOPLE UNTIL IT FINALLY WAS SENT TO THE GM EXECUTIVE OFFICE. THEY ARE STILL REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IF. WE ARE ASKING THAT THEY PROVE TO US THAT THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE BUT THEY STILL REFUSE THEY TRIED AT FIRST TO TELL US THAT IT WAS THE WINTER MATS THAT WE HAD IN OUR CAR BUT WHEN THE DEALER TRIED TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEY FINALLY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT THE MATT NOW GM STILL HAS NOT GOT BACK WITH ME. MY WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE THE CAR SINCE IT WAS HER THAT WAS DRIVING WHEN THE CAR RAN AWAY. IF I-94 WAS BACKED UP THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE CRASH BECAUSE WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP THE CAR PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER WE TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAW THAT THE BRAKES WERE SMOKED AND NEED WORK TO CORRECT THEM. *TR
MY WIFE WAS STOPPED WAITING FOR A CAR TO LEAVE A PARKING SPOT. SHE HAD HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE READY TO PUT IT IN PARK. THE CAR SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD AND SHE COULD NOT STOP IT WITH BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE. SHE HIT A BUILDING AND 3 VEHICLES BEFORE SHE WAS STOPPED BY THE 3RD VEHICLE. SHE WAS HEADED FOR ANOTHER PART OF THE BUILDING WHEN SHE STOPPED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.THERE WAS LESS THAN 600 MILES ON THE CAR. FORTUNATELY NO WAS INJURED BADLY. MY WIFE HAS DRIVEN 31 YEARS WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT. THIS WAS NOT HER FAULT. SOMEONE COULD HAVE EASILY HAVE BEEN KILLED IF IT HAPPENED ON THE STREET. *TR

WHEN ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS EXAMINED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO TIGHTENED THE BOLTS IN THE SUSPENSION. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR AND BOTH FRONT END STRUTS WERE REPLACED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR AND AN AUTHORIZED DEALER REPLACED THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR AND AN AUTHORIZED DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, THE STEERING CONTROL MODULE AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE CONTROL MODULE. WHEN THE FAILURE RECURRED, THE MANUFACTURER SENT AN ENGINEER TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINEER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE BELIEVES THE FAILURE INVOLVES THE STABILITRAK STABILITY CONTROL WHICH WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE WITH HIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,700 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,200.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BUICK LUCERNE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS FRONT HEAD REST WERE NOT ALIGNED WITH THE SEATS. IF THE SEAT WAS IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION, THE HEAD REST WOULD UNCOMFORTABLY PUSH THE OCCUPANTS HEAD FORWARD. IN ADDITION, THE HEAD REST WERE DESIGNED EXTREMELY BIG WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE WHILE CHANGING LANES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BUICK LUCERNE. WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD AND DAMAGED THE FRONT END WHEN IT CRASHED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT REFUSES TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY WILL TEST DRIVE IT THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500.
WHEN MY DAUGHTER UNSTRAPPED HER SEATBELT SHE ASKED, "WHAT'S THIS MOM?" IT WAS THE BOLT AT THE END OF THE SEATBELT THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ATTACHED TO THE CAR. IT JUST HAPPENED ONCE BECAUSE WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET FIXED. THE BOLT WAS ATTACHED AND THE OTHER SEATBELTS IN THE BACK SEAT WERE ALSO CHECKED AND THEY WERE FINE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 BUICK LUCERNE. AFTER JUST PURCHASING THE VEHICLE WITH 400 MILES, IT DEVELOPED HEADLIGHT FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND KEPT FLIPPING THE SWITCH UP AND DOWN UNTIL THE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES WHILE DRIVING HOME WITHIN A 45 MILE RADIUS. ONLY THE HIGH BEAMS WOULD ACTIVATE. THE CONTACT DOES NOT WANT TO DRIVE AROUND WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ACTIVATED ALL NIGHT.
