Passenger air bag system shuts off with passenger in vehicle. Message displays to service air bag system. It doesn't always shut off. It's very random when it will shut off or be working. This is a hazard to any passenger in this vehicle.
1. Passenger presence module internally faulted and passenger presence sensor shorted. They are still in vehicle. 2. Safety at risk because of questionable air bag. 3. Problem confirmed by dealership. Dealership is Bob Moore Buick GMC (405) 721-6000. Invoice #[XXX] 15NOV23. 4. Vehicle has not been inspected by police, manufacturer, or insurance representative. 5. ME AND MY FRIEND WAS SITTING IN MY BUICK AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE INDICATOR SAYS PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF AND THE DIC SAYS SERVICE AIRBAG AND THE RED AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. I AM HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR. ELECTRICAL, LIGHTS, THE AIR SYSTEM.
PASSENGER AIR BAG OFTEN DISPLAYS 'OFF' WHEN PASSENGER IS PRESENT AND SOMETIMES DISPLAYS 'ON' WITH SEAT BELT WARNING DISPLAYED WITH NO PASSENGER PRESENT. THIS OCCURS WITH VEHICLE IN MOTION. DEALERSHIP STATED 'THIS IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM. WE FIXED 2 LAST WEEK'. COST FOR REPAIR IS $1148!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 BUICK VERANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE WARNING LIGHT WOULD FLASH ON AND OFF. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER JUST RUDELY DISMISSED THE CONTACT'S CONCERN AND TOLD HIM TO CALL A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 BUICK VERANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH IN HEAVY RAIN, THE VEHICLE SLID AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
TAKATA RECALL 7/31/2018 T BONE ACCIDENT BY DRIVER WHO RAN STOP SIGN SUSTAIN HEAD INJURIES AND CONCUSSION BLACKOUT TAKEN TO HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE FROM INJURIES AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UNDER MEDICAL CARE
THE AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, BOTH IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. IT STARTED DOING THIS FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS, IT IS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER ERROR WHEN PUTTING TOGETHER THE SEATS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THEY LIMIT THE FIX TO ONLY CARS UNDER 72,000 MILES. MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF MILES AND I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING THING TO CAUSE THIS TO SUDDENLY START MALFUNCTIONING, YET IT IS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD CAUSED BY THE MANUFACTURER, THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE CAR, YET THEY WON'T FIX IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 BUICK VERANO. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED AND CAUSED BOTH A FRONT AND REAR END COLLISION. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT'S WIFE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND ARM THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INSURANCE LOT AND THEN LATER TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400. EVERYTIME I PUSH ON THE GAS NO MATTER WHAT SPEED I'M DRIVING MY AIRBAG ICON GOES OFF, THEN THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING COMES ON THE DASHBOARD. I HIT THE MENU BUTTON TO TURN IT BACK OFF BUT SOON AFTER IT COMES RIGHT BACK ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT'S A RECALL.
