YOU ALREADY SHOW RECALL INFORMATION ON 2007 CADILLAC DTS FOR IGNITION KEY SAFETY PROBLEM BUT I WOULD LIKE TO COMPLAIN THAT GM TELLS ME IN THEIR RECALL LETTERS THAT THE PARTS TO FIX THIS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. ON CALLING THEM AND POSING THE QUESTION WHETHER GM IS BACK-LOGGED HAVING TO MAKE SO MANY PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE OR IF IT IS THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A 'FIX' YET, GM SAID THEIR ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON IT AND HAVE NOT DETERMINED A FIX YET, THEREFORE NOT KNOWN WHAT PARTS THEY WILL NEED. IT PUTS OWNERS IN A POSITION WHERE THEY MUST PLAY RUSSIAN ROULETTE. SINCE BOTH MY 2007 DTS AND MY 2001 DEVILLE ARE ON LATEST RECALL LIST I DON'T HAVE A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE UNTIL GM REPAIRS THESE OR ELSE I MUST PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE (NOT GM) TO HAVE SOMETHING SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE DETACHED EACH CAR'S IGNITION KEY FROM KEY RINGS SO THAT NOT EVEN THE FOB IS ATTACHED. HOWEVER, APPEARS THAT THIS MERELY SERVES TO DIMINISH THE POTENTIAL THAT IN AN ACCIDENT THE KEY MIGHT NOT BE AS LIKELY TO SLIP FROM 'RUN' POSITION TO TURNING THE CAR OFF COMPLETELY, LEAVING ME WITH NO POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES AND POSSIBILITY AIRBAGS WON'T DEPLOY. GM HAS INSTRUCTED ITS DEALERSHIPS THAT THEY MAY NOT SELL ANY VEHICLE IN THIS RECALL UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED, SO THE CARS ARE, IN ESSENCE, WORTHLESS UNTIL THAT HAPPENS AND CAN NOT EVEN BE USED FOR TRADE-IN PURPOSES. I SUSPECT THEIR COMPETITOR AUTO MANUFACTURERS ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND WOULD NOT RELISH ANY GM TRADE-INS THAT, DUE TO LIABILITY POTENTIAL, THEY COULD NOT SELL ON TO ANYONE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
SINCE THIS FIRST INDECENT I FIND EVER TIME IT RAINS IF I GO THRU A PUDDLE OF WATER AND TURN LEFT OR RIGHT THAT THE POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE YOU CAN RECOVER. TODAY WE HAVE HEAVY RAIN AND AT ONE TURN IT NEARLY RESULTED WITH ME HITTING A SEMI TRUCK THAT WAS IN A MERGE LANE AND AS I MADE MY TURN ONTO THE HIGHWAY STEERING AGAIN OUT, I COULD NOT COMPLETE THE TURN WHICH POINTED ME AT THE FAR LANE AND THE ONCOMING MAMMOTH TRUCK AS I JERKED THE WHEEL THE STEERING REGAINED AND I JOLTED BACK INTO MY LANE. WHEN WILL CADILLAC BE REQUESTED TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM OR ARE THE LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE FACE THE FEAR OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT BEFORE WE RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. 2007 CADILLAC DTS WITH APPROXIMATELY 67,000 MILES. WHEN DRIVING AND AT ANY SPEED FROM 55 TO 70MPH A VIBRATION IS FELT VIA THE SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL. THE VIBRATION IS ALSO BAD ENOUGH THAT IS VIBRATES THE PASSENGER SEAT BACK LOUDLY. TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED, BRAKES CHECKED, WHEELS BALANCED X2, ETC. ON LINE BLOGS INDICATE CADILLAC IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT UNABLE TO DETERMINE PROBLEM. *TR
THIS CAR IS A 2007 AND WE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2007 AND GOT A RECALL ON WINDSHIELD WASHER MODULE, WE TAKE IT AND THEY REPLACE A WIRE. NEXT WE GET A RECALL WANTING TO DISABLE AND REMOVE HEATED WINDSHIELD WASHER MODULE. THE RECALL READS LIKE THIS, RECALL INFORMATION RECALL IMPORTANT, OUR PRIORITY IS YOUR COMPLETE SATISFACTION. IT IS NOT OUR COMPLETE SATISFACTION TO TAKE THIS CAR IN AND DISMANTLE IT, AND SO FOR WE HAVEN'T DONE SO AND HAVE NO INTENTION OF DOING SO. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED BY GENERAL MOTORS AND IT HASN'T BEEN. NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,800 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000. UPDATED 6/17/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER WAITING A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THE HE WAS ABLE TO RE-START THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 07/03/14
THE HEATED AND COOLED FRONT SEATS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. MAY POSSIBLY BE A FIRE HAZARD. SHOULD RIGHTFULLY BE RECALLED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT NIGHT AT 70 MPH, BOTH HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED THEN TURNED OFF. THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AFTER CYCLING TO AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH OFF THEN BACK ON. A FEW MINUTES LATER, THEY TURN OFF AGAIN. THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION HAS REPEATED NUMEROUS TIMES TONIGHT. *TR
ENGINE STOPPED. ALL POWER EQUIPMENT CEASED TO FUNCTION. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, TURNED THE KEY AND THE CAR STARTED AND CONTINUED FOR THE DURATION OF THE 200 MILE TRIP. THE SECOND TIME APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS AGO MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IN HEAVY CITY TRAFFIC WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED AND SHE LOST THE USE OF ALL POWER EQUIPMENT. SHE WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND GET IT STARTED AGAIN WITHOUT INCIDENT. I CALLED GM COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT. THEY INSTRUCTED ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE ON IT. THIS WAS DONE AND NOTHING WAS FOUND TO BE WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. I AGAIN CALLED CADILLAC COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT AND OPENED A CASE. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ASK THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO RECHECK IT. I INFORMED THEM I HAVE THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT SHOWING NOTHING WRONG WAS FOUND. THEY SUGGESTED I TAKE IT BACK AND HAVE THE SERVICE PEOPLE DRIVE THE CAR. THIS DIDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHEN AND WHERE THE PROBLEM WILL OCCUR AGAIN. WHAT WAS I TO DO FOR A CAR WHILE THE DEALERSHIP HAD MINE? I INQUIRED OF THE CADILLAC REPRESENTATIVE IF THIS CAR MAY HAVE THE SAME IGNITION AS THE CARS CURRENTLY BEING RECALLED BY GM. THEY WERE UNABLE TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION. THEY FINALLY STATED THE ONLY REMEDY WAS TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. IF THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN SOMEONE COULD EASILY GET INJURED OR KILLED. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE YOU CAN GIVE ME ON HOW TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER.

IN YOUR RESPONSE YOU STATED I WOULD HAVE ACCESS TO A REPORT WITHIN 72 HOURS @ HTTPS://WWW-ODI.NHTSA.DOT.GOV/VEHICLECOMPLAINT/. UPON ACCESSING THIS SITE THERE IS NO WHERE TO INPUT THE ODI NUMBER THAT YOU STATED WOULD GIVE ME ACCESS TO THE STATUS OF THE COMPLAINT. PLEASE ADVISE AS I INTEND TO PURSUE THIS ISSUE FURTHER UNTIL THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THANK YOU. *TR
CONNECTOR UNDER FRONT PASSENGER SEAT MELTED DUE TO SOME SORT OF HIGH CURRENT PROBLEM. FROM WHAT I READ ON THE CADILLAC FORUM, THIS IS AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW. CONNECTOR PART 15326110 WAS REPLACED. THIS MELTED CONNECTOR PROBLEM CAUSES (1) HEATED SEATS TO STOP OPERATING, (2) FRONT & REAR PARKING ASSIST TO STOP OPERATING, AND (3) AC THERMOSTAT TO OPERATE UNPREDICTABLY, E.G., HEATER WILL WARM CAR UP TO SET TEMPERATURE, E.G., 72 DEGREES, THEN THE AC WILL KICK ON TO COOL THE CAR...NOT DESIRABLE ON A COLD WINTER DAY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED OIL BURNING INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS OIL LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE GASKETS AND THE GASKETS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000. ...UPDATED 01/20/16 *BF *JS
AFTER RESEARCHING MY HEATER/COOLER PROBLEM IN MY SEATS I FIND THE CADILLAC NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM THAT HAS EXISTS FOR A LONG TIME AND EVEN AFTER CONSULTING AUTHORIZED CADILLAC DEALESHIPS I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE RUN AROUND BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM! I JUST WANT CADILLAC TO FIX MY CURRENT HEAT/COOLER PROBLEM IN MY SEATS!
THE PLUG THAT CONNECTS TO THE HEAT/COOL MODULE HAS NOW MELTED ON THE YELLOW/RED WIRE WHICH IS ABOUT A 10GA WIRE. I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS AND ONLINE ARTICLES ABOUT GM HAVING THIS PROBLEM ON MANY OTHER GM VEHICLES. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM WHICH CAN RESULT IN A FIRE SINCE THE WIRE GETS HOT IT CAN POSSIBLY IGNITE THE PADDING UNDERNEATH THE SEAT. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO FIX THIS MYSELF IT SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. I CURRENTLY HAVE ABOUT 47K MILES ON MY CADILLAC AND THE HEAT AND COOL SEATS NO LONGER WORK UNLESS I MAKE THE REPAIRS. *TR
I WAS BLOWN AWAY TO FIND OIL UNDER MY 07 DTS CADILLAC, THEN TO LEARN IT'S COMMON. THINKING IT WAS A DRAIN PLUG OR OIL FILTER CHANGED THE OIL. NO SUCH LUCK, IT'S THE ENGINE LOWER END LEAKING. THINKING IT WASN'T SO BAD TO NOT DRIVE I WATCHED THE OIL LEVEL CLOSELY. I NOTICED OIL FILM COVERING THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL AND REAR TRUNK LID AND A DRIPPY COATING OF OIL UNDER THE CAR. THIS MAKES IT A DANGER TO THE HIGHWAYS AND OTHER CARS BY LEAKING A QUART EVERY HUNDRED MILES. FOR DRIVERS NOT WATCHING OIL LEVELS THIS WILL TURN INTO A BROKEN DOWN CAR AT BEST, AN OIL FIRE VERY POSSIBLE ON THE ROAD THESE ARE NEVER SAFE. THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CADILLAC NORTHSTAR ENGINE FOR YEARS, I SAY IT'S TIME TO DO A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM BEFORE PEOPLE GET INJURED OR KILLED. A LITTLE PRO-ACTIVE RECALL IS IN ORDER. *TR
DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP (DRL) / TURN SIGNAL BULB APPEARS TO HAVE MELTED THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING. BULB FAILURE CAUSED OWNER TO DISCOVER PROBLEM. MELTED HOUSING WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT BULB FIXTURE. THIS SEEMS FLAWED AND RESULTS IN A SAFETY ISSUE WHERE TURN SIGNAL ON FRONT OF CAR IS INOPERABLE WITHOUT EXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE HEADLIGHT HOUSING. NEW HOUSING MAY NOT SOLVE HEATING PROBLEM THAT CAUSES MELTING. THIS PROBLEM, AND SIMILAR CONSEQUENCES OF EXCESS LAMP HEAT, IS REPORTED BY OTHER OWNERS ON THE CADILLAC FORUM. *TR
MY BATTERY CONSTANTLY GOES DEAD, EVERYTIME IT RAINS, SNOWS OR EVEN GETS COLD. I BROUGHT A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND A BRAND NEW ALTERNATOR AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. THE AIR-BAG MESSAGE KEEPS COMING UP ALONG WITH EVERY ELECTRICAL COMPONENT THERE IS ON THIS CAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIPS TO GET DIAGNOSTICS AND THEY NEVER FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR MY KIDS TO RIDE IN PLEASE ADVISE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 4 MPH SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL ABNORMALLY TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND AND EVENTUALLY COASTED TO A STOP INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE BRAKE RESERVOIR AND DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID. THE CONTACT ADDED BRAKE FLUID AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER THE CONTACT RESUMED DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TWO FRONT BRAKE LINES AND THE ONE BRAKE LINE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED SEVERE CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WAS SMOKE AROUND THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT OIL WAS LEAKING ONTO THE MANIFOLD PRODUCING THE ABNORMAL ODOR. IN ADDITION, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE RESEALED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. UPDATED 02/12/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE CRANK CASE LEAKED OIL ONTO THE MANIFOLD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT STOPPED ILLUMINATING. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SHUT IT OFF. UPON RESTART, THE HEADLIGHT BEGAN ILLUMINATING AS NORMAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED OFTEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,560.
MY LENS COVERING IS DISCOLORING AND HAS BECOME CLOUDED OVER. THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION UNDER WARRANTY. HE SAID THIS IS NOT COVERED. HOW CAN THIS BE WHEN NOW THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY LESS EFFECTIVE THROUGH THIS CLOUDY LENS. OTHER CADILLAC OWNERS IN THE DEALER HEAR MY CONVERSATION AND THEY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAD THE LENS REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $350. A BLIND EYE SEEMS TO BE A TRUE SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM. *TR
THE HEATED/COOLED SEATS STOPPED WORKING. LATER THEY STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THIS CYCLE OF WORKING/NOT WORKING CONTINUED FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN THEY QUIT COMPLETELY. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE FOR SOLUTIONS, I FOUND THAT THE DTS, BUICK LUCERNE, AND A FEW OTHER GM VEHICLES HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE WIRING CONNECTOR UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT OVERHEATS AND MELTS CAUSING A POOR CONNECTION RESULTING IN THE HEAT/COOL SETTINGS TO MALFUNCTION AND NOT WORK. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD! GM IS CHARGING PEOPLE AROUND $1000 TO DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM WHEN IT'S THEIR OWN FAULTY ENGINEERING. THERE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL ON ALL THE VEHICLES WITH THIS PARTICULAR TYPE OF CLIMATE CONTROLLED HEATED/COOLED SEATS AND SHOULD BE NO CHARGE FOR THE REPAIR. IF I COULD SEND PICTURES I WOULD LET YOU SEE THE MELTED AND BURNED WIRING CONNECTOR IN MY CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FURTHER, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT WHEN THE ENGINE RPMS REACHED 1500. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ENGINEERED TO OPERATE IN THAT MANNER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,300. THE CONSUMER STATED HE CAME TO A PASSING LANE ABOUT 1/4 MILE LONG AND PULLED OUT TO PASS. THE SHIFTER LEVER WAS IN "3" ON THE STEEP HILL. HE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO ADVANCE INTO 2ND GEAR, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DOWN SHIFT OR ACCELERATE. HE PULLED THE SHIFTER LEVER INTO 2ND . BUT THE TRANSMISSION STILL DID NOT DOWN SHIFT OR ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. AFTER AN EXAMINATION, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE TRANSMISSION WAS DESIGNED TO NOT SHIFT DOWN ABOVE 1500 RPM. IN CONTRAST, THE OWNER'S MANUAL WARNED NOT TO DOWN SHIFT INTO 2ND ABOVE 65 MPH BECAUSE IT MAY DAMAGE THE TRANSMISSION. UPDATED 11/17/11
9-02-2010 DRIVING 70 MILES PER HOUR ON I-75 N, 1. CRUISE SUDDENLY CUTS OFF. 2. CAR SLOWS TO 4-5 MILES PER HOUR. 3. SPEED ODOMETER CUTS OFF 4. ALL SAFETY LIGHTS COME ON 5. NO BRAKES 6. 2007 CADILLAC DTS WITH LEVELING REAR STRUTS HAVE A SERIOUS ISSUE IN WIRING TO THE REAR SUSPENSION. THOSE OPERATING IN HEAVY ROAD SALT ENVIRONMENT ARE EXPERIENCING WIRING FAILURES IN QUICK DISCONNECT TERMINALS. WHERE WIRES ARE INSERTED INTO CONNECTOR PINS SCOP UP SALT AGAINST UNPROTECTED COPPER WIRE . THIS RESULTS IN COMPLETE DISCONNECTION DUE TO CHRONIC CORROSION. THUS THE COMPUTER DISPLAYS A TROUBLE MESSAGE IN THE MAIN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER "SERVICE SUSPENSION." THIS WIRING DISCONNECT/OPEN DISABLES THE AIR RIDE FEATURE IN THE REAR STRUTS. THE WIRING INVOLVED RESIDES UNDER THE FLOOR PAN AND IS UNPROTECTED FROM THE ELEMENTS. THESE WIRE FAILURES CAN RESULT IN STEERING/HANDLING DIFFICULTIES DUE TO REAR SEAT AND TRUNK HEAVY LOADS. FIX WOULD BE TO REQUIRE POTTING COMPOUND IN ALL GALLYS WHERE WIRES ENTER MALE PINS AND FEMALE RECEIVER CONNECTIONS. POTTING COMPOUND WOULD CREATE A WATERPROOF EXCLUSION TO KEEP OUT THE DAMAGING ELEMENTS. MY VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A GM CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED CAR THAT ORIGINATED IN THE BOSTON MASS AREA. *TR
HEADLAMPS WOULD FLICKER AND GO OUT INTERMEADLY THEN THE OTHER NIGHT THEY DID THIS AND BOTH WENT OUT I WAS DRIVING ON A DARK ROAD AND COULD HAVE HAD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT ALOT OF DTS OWNER HAVE ALSO REPORTED THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THE LEFT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO CORROSION. APPROXIMATELY A MONTH LATER THE RIGHT HEADLAMP HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR THE SAME REASON. I HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY HAVE LEARNED THAT CADILLAC PUT OUT A BULLETIN, DOCUMENT ID #08014A, THAT ADDRESSES THE PROBLEM WITH CORROSION IN THE HEADLIGHTS. IF THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED OUT AT NIGHT, IN THE RAIN, CLEARLY IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
2007 CADILLAC DTS. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE TIRES *TGW IN JUNE 2010 THE LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT. IT HAPPENED AT A LOW SPEED, SO THERE WAS NO DANGER OF AN ACCIDENT. THE TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN AUGUST 2010, THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WENT FLAT AND THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRE HAD DISINTEGRATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN NOVEMBER 2010, WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 75 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE TIRE HAD DISINTEGRATED. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL TOURING CONTACT AC TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THERE WAS A REPEATED THUMPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TREAD WAS WARPED AND THERE WAS A LUMP IN THE TIRE. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE DOT NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
WHEN AT IDLE SPEED THE ENGINE SUDDENLY ACCELERATE TO A HIGH SPEED. I WAS SURPRISED AND PLACED THE CAR IN REVERSE. I SHOT BACKWARDS, WHERE AS I SHIFTED TO DRIVE. I HIT A SOLID OBJECT AND THE CAR WAS HEAVILY DAMAGED. I COULD NOT HOLD THE CAR WITH THE BRAKES. I TOTALLY PANICKED. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A VEHICLE FAILED TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY, ENTERED INTO TRAFFIC, AND THEN CRASHED INTO THE LEFT SIDE OF HER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE STOPPED WHEN IT CRASHED INTO A WALL. THE DRIVERS FRONTAL AND SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE ON-STAR SYSTEM DID NOT ACTIVATE. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY, AND THAT THE AIR BAGS WILL ONLY DEPLOY IF THE SENSOR WAS IMPACTED. THEY ADDED THAT THE ON-STAR SYSTEM ACTIVATES ONLY WHEN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY. SHE RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BODY AND A DISLOCATED DISC. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 50,000. THE POLICE INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKES AND THE ROTORS, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 106,000. THE CONSUMER STATED EVER SINCE HE DROVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE LOT, THERE WAS AN OCCASIONAL SHAKING WHEN DRIVING DOWNHILL WHEN HE APPLIED THE BRAKES. IT OCCURRED CONSISTENTLY AT CERTAIN PARTS OF DOWN GRADES, BUT IT DID NOT ALWAYS OCCUR IN ALL DOWN HILL SITUATIONS. IN TRAFFIC..TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME, APPLIED BRAKES AND DID NOT HAVE ANY.,.STEPPED ON GAS AND HAD NO RESPONSE..SWERVED TO AVOID CRASH..DRIFTED INTO A PARKING LOT AND CAR CAME TO A STOP AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES STARTED CAR AND SLOWLY DROVE HOME. 2007 CADILLAC DTS STOPPED IN MIDTRAFFIC. AFTER A FEW MINUTES WAS ABLE TO RESTART, BUT IT WOULD ONLY GO 2 - 3 MPH. LET IT SIT FOR AWHILE, THEN IT RESTARTED. DROVE TO DEALER, FOUND NOTHING WRONG, HOWEVER, THEY RESET SOMETHING IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THEY WERE NOT FORTHCOMING WITH INFORMATION! SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED! WE HAVE A SEVERE VIBRATION IN OUR 2007 CADILLAC DTS THAT STARTS AT 55MPH AND ALSO REPEATS ITSELF AS WE COME TO A STOP. THINK THIS VIBRATION IS ALWAYS THERE, BUT WE FEEL IT AT THESE TIMES. THIS VIBRATION WAS SO SEVERE THAT ON ONE OCCASION WE WERE COMING DOWN A MOUNTAIN SIDE IN VIRGINIA WHEN IT BECAME SO VIOLENT WE BARELY WERE ABLE TO BRING THE CAR UNDER CONTROL AND BRING IT TO A STOP. THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH DTS GENERAL MOTORS ADVISED US THAT THEIR ENGINEERS ARE VERY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH DTS AND ARE WORKING ON THE PROBLEM, BUT HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT HOW TO REPAIR.. WE HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THEY HAVE ASKED .. REALIGNMENT, NEW PADS, NEW ROTARS, FOUR NEW TIRES ..THEY ARE QUITE FRANK THAT THE PROBLEM EXISTS, HAVE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS, NO ANSWERS, AND THERE WILL BE NO RECALL AS THEIR PLAN IS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM BY ATTRITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE BRACKET AND PULLEY BROKE, AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 5,200.

THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WERE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS. NEITHER WERE EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BROKEN NECK AND SHOULDER DAMAGE. THERE IS ALSO A 4.5 INCH GAP THAT CAUSES THE SUN TO HINDER HER VISION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT A REPAIR COULD NOT BE MADE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT FASHION. THE VISOR HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,100 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.

AT 4000 MILES ,HAD VIBRATION, ROTORS WERE RUSTY AND OUT OF ROUND, REFINISHED ROTORS, THEN;A WEEK LATER ,VIBRATED WHEN APPLY BRAKES,LUG NUTS LOOSE,TIRES OUT OF BAL.- DEALER HAD LUG NUTS TIGHTENED AND ,FORCE BAL.TIRES. AT 5513 MILES STILL A VIBRATION;- DEALER PUT ON NEW TIRES, 6 MONTHS LATER MADE A NOISE, FELT LOOSE IN FRONT , TOOK TO DEALER THEY REMOVED AND REPLACED R.AXLE BRAKES VIBRATING AGAIN 5 MONTHS LATER. CALLED COMPANY TOOK CAR TO ANOTHER DEALER; TURNED ROTORS & ROTATED TIRES,STILL A VIBRATION,REPLACED FRONT ROTORS, 3MONTHS LATER HAD F.ROTORS REFINISHED & REMACHINED R. ROTORS LESS THAN 500 MILES,VIBRATION AGAIN SO BAD NOW STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT OF CAR SHAKES. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR ,BRAKES MAY GIVE AWAY,COULD INJURE SOMEONE OR A PART MAY COME OFF CAR.
