FOUND HALF OF EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKEN AND CANNOT GET INSPECTED NOW. *TR
THE BATTERY IN MY ESCALADE HAD BEEN DYING ON ME FOR A WHILE. ONE DAY, MY GAUGES ALL STAYED STUCK AS IF I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I DROVE IT FOR A WHILE UNTIL I WAS TIRED OF JUMP-STARTING IT ALMOST EVERYDAY AND I FINALLY REPLACED THE BATTERY.THE GAUGES ALL STAYED THE SAME. A FEW DAYS WENT BY AND THE BATTERY STARTED TO DIE AGAIN. I REALIZED THAT THIS WAS MORE THAN JUST A BATTERY PROBLEM. I DROVE IT 5 MILES AWAY FROM MY PLACE ON THE FREEWAY AND AS I WAS COMING BACK HOME IT STARTED TO DECELERATE ALL ON IT'S OWN. IT MARKED "SYSTEM STABILITY DISABLED" AND WOULD NOT LET ME GO OVER 25 MPH. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE NOVEMBER AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS. I READ ABOUT A RECALL BUT THIS PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED SINCE 2002 WHEN THE RECALL NOTICE WAS SENT OUT. AS I HAVE READ THE DESCRIPTIONS ON WHAT PEOPLE'S PROBLEMS WITH THIS SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE WAS, I NOTICE THAT IT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY VEHICLE. (BCM RECALL 2002 #02066) . *TR
BOLTS ENDED UP COMING OUT OF MANIFOLD ON THEIR OWN THROUGH TIME. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. NOTHING WAS DONE PRIOR TO LIGHT COMING ON. I ACTUALLY CALLED GM TO SEE IF IT WAS A RECALL AND ALSO TO REPORT THE INCIDENT.... *TR
MANIFOLD STUDS ON DRIVER SIDE ARE BROKE!!! 03 ESCALADE 6.0. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH, THE VEHICLE ENGAGED INTO REDUCED ENGINE POWER MODE WHILE AND STALLED. THE FAILURE WAS A RECURRING ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF FOUR YEARS BUT THEY WERE NEVER ABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 200,000. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATER MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000.
BRIDEGESTONE DUELER TIRES BOUGHT ON 6/07/08 AT FIRESTONE IN TULSA. ON 9/02/08, LESS THAN 1500 MILES LATER, HAD VALVE STEM CRACK CAUSING FLAT TIRE. ON 11/02/08, ANOTHER 1500 MILES LATER, HAD A DIFFERENT TIRE GO FLAT CAUSED BY CRACKED VALVE STEM. FIRESTONE INSISTS THAT THIS IS COINCIDENTAL AND THAT NOBODY ELSE IS MAKING VALVE STEM COMPLAINTS. *TR
SMOKE BEGAN COMING OUT OF THE CUP HOLDER AREA. WHEN WE OPENED THE HOOD TO SEE WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM, THE FUSE BOX WAS ON FIRE AND SEVERAL FUSES WERE BURNED. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE WHERE IT STARTED BUT IT APPEARS TO HAVE STARTED IN THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER. *TR
ELECTRONIC CONTROL STABILITY SYSTEM HAS NOT WORKS SINCE VEHICLE WAS NEW. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEAL UNDER WARRANTY OVER 15 TIMES. UNABLE TO CORRECT PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED INACCURATE READINGS, WHICH PREVENTED HER FROM DETERMINING HOW FAST SHE WAS DRIVING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT SHE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL CLUSTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AT THAT TIME. ONE YEAR LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURER STATING THAT THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL CLUSTER WAS DEFECTIVE. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED 80,000 MILES. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE EXT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE LOADING HIS TAILGATE WITH 12 BAGS OF 40 POUND WOOD CHIPS, HE HEARD A POPPING SOUND . THE CONTACT THEN LOADED A 13 POUND BAG ONTO THE TAILGATE AND APPROXIMATELY 8 TO 10 BAGS FELL ONTO HIS LEFT LEG AND FOOT. HE SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURES TO HIS LEFT LEG AND FOOT, WHICH RESULTED IN THREE SURGERIES. THE TAILGATE CABLES WERE REPLACED PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT DUE TO RECALL NUMBER 04007 AND AGAIN AFTER THE INCIDENT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER HAS STOPPED WORKING. THE CADILLAC DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT SINCE HIS VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, IT WOULD COST $100 TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND $500 TO REPLACE THE SPEEDOMETER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOR THIS COMPONENT, HOWEVER, GENERAL MOTORS REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING. BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAS HAD NEAR CRASHES AND RECEIVED SPEEDING TICKETS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 105,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *UPDATED 12/12/07 *BF UPDATED 12/12/07.
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE 2003 CADILLAC DTS AT 35 MPH HE BEGAN TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THE SMOKE COMING FROM THE CREASE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT, THERE WERE NO FLAMES PRESENT. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND WAS ADVISED TO CALL CADILLAC'S CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. *AK
I PURCHASED A 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE ON 02/11/06. AT THE TIME IT HAD AROUND 64000 MILES ON IT. A FEW MONTHS LATER THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED JUMPING AROUND BUT IT WOULD GO BACK TO NORMAL. AFTER A WHILE IT WOULD STAY STUCK FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THEN GO BACK TO NORMAL. IN JULY 2007 IT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AT ALL WHEN WE WENT ON VACATION IN FLORIDA BUT WHILE WE WERE THERE IT STARTED WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN. IT WORKED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER THAT AND THEN IT STARTED STICKING AGAIN AND STAYED ON 120 MPH WHETHER IT WAS MOVING OR NOT. WE WERE TOLD THAT BECAUSE WE HAD OVER 70,000 MILES IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. WE RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT GM WOULD REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER UNDER 80,000 MILES BUT SINCE NOW WE HAVE 95,000 MILES AND THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WE WILL HAVE TO PAY THE EXPENSE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED WHICH WILL BE BETWEEN $500 OR $600. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS WIDESPREAD AND AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MILEAGE. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOMETHING DONE FOR OWNERS NO MATTER HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE VEHICLE. WE HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM ON ANOTHER AUTOMOBILE. IT IS CLEARLY A DEFECT WHICH SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY GM AT THEIR EXPENSE. *TR
STEERING/CROSS BAR/AXEL- BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 10 + TIMES. CAR STEERING GOES OUT. CAR MAKES CRACKLING NOISES WHILE TURNING. *NM
MY 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE EXT. WAS PARKED AT 10:30 DECEMBER 23. 2006 IN MY DRIVEWAY, ABOUT 9-9:15 ON DECEMBER 24, 2006 THE TRUCK IGNITED ITSELF ON FIRE. THE TRUCK IS SEVERELY BURNED AS WELL AS MY WIFE'S 2006 MERCEDES BENZ AS WELL AS MY PROPERTY. *JB
12/24/06 I HAD A CAR FIRE AT MY HOUSE, GENERAL MOTORS HAS BEEN JERKING ME AROUND FOR OVER A MONTH NOW REGARDING THERE LIABILITY FOR THE FIRE. 2/13/07 THEY ACCEPTED LIABILITY OF THE FIRE OVER THE PHONE TO ME. I FAXED TO THEM ALL THE DOCUMENTS THEY ASKED FOR. NOW TODAY 2/14/07 THEY ARE DENYING LIABILITY AS WELL AS THE SUPERVISOR DENYING IT WILL NOT SPEAK TO ME ABOUT THIS MATTER. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF A BIG COMPANY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE WORKING PUBLIC. *NM
2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE PARKED. THE FIRE DEPT RULED THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE AS ELECTRICAL FIRE. CONSUMER ALSO STATES THAT CADILLAC IS REFUSING TO ACCEPT LIABILITY. *MC *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE BACKING UP FROM A PARKING SPACE ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS AT 5 MPH, THE BOLT AND WHEEL ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TOWED AND LATER REPAIRED. THE FAILED PART AND THE REPAIR INVOICE WERE AVAILABLE.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, LIGHTNING STRUCK THE EXTERIOR ANTENNA FOR THE ON-STAR SYSTEM DISRUPTING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE EXT. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 TO 80 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE SERVICE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWELVE OCCASIONS AND REPLACED SIX TIMES UNDER THE WARRANTY. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST PURCHASED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS REPLACED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER DUE TO FAILURE. THE POWER STEERING HAD ALSO BEEN REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FUEL PUMP FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000. UPDATED 09/01/10. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED ALL THE FAILURES WERE ELECTRICAL RELATED. THE CONSUMER NO LONGER OWNS THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 09/14/10
CADILLAC MOTOR DIVISION BLEW OFF MY INQUIRY. 05/26/2006 22:06:32CIDENT DESCRIPTION: WHEN TURNING OFF IGNITION WITH 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE, AND TOUCHING EXTERIOR MIRROR BUTTON TO FOLD MIRRORS IN OR OUT, POWER SEAT AUTOMATICALLY MOVES DRIVER INTO STEERING WHEEL CRUSHING SAID VICTIM INTO STEERING WHEEL. REMOVING KEY DID NOT STOP. ONLY WAY TO RELEASE THIS A SECOND INCIDENT WAS TO OPEN THE CAR DOOR TO KILL THE POWER. CORRESPONDENCE FROM GENERAL MOTORS RESPONSE IS NO FURTHER ACTION. WHEN THIS HAPPENS A THIRD TIME, I WILL DELIVER SAID AUTOMOBILE TO THE CLOSEST CADILLAC DEALER AND REMOVE MY LICENSE PLATES. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST PURCHASED, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL OVERHEATED AND FAILED AS SOON AS HE DROVE FROM THE LOT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AT THE MANUFACTURER'S EXPENSE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND WITHOUT WARNING ON AT LEAST TWELVE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER ADVISED THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT HAS HAD NUMEROUS UNKNOWN REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE TO NO AVAIL. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 168,000. UPDATED 10/25/10 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT OUT, THE IGNITION SWITCH, FUEL PUMP AND POWER STEERING MOTOR FAILED. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION WAS ROUGH AND SHIFTING HARD. DT: THE ALUMINUM RIMS CORRODED, CAUSING THE TIRES TO DEFLATE. THERE WAS AIR LEAKING FROM AROUND THE VALVE STEMS. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3-4 TIMES. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS ON 8-8-05. THE TIRES HAVE NOT BEEN CHANGED, BUT THEY HAVE BEEN ROTATED. THERE WERE NO OTHER KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. . THE VEHICLE WAS LEASED. *AK
DT: CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A BRAKE PROBLEM. INTERMITTENTLY, WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH OR ABOVE AND IF NEEDED TO COME TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP IT WON'T STOP LIKE IT SHOULD. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY SAID BRAKE PADS WERE FINE, AND THEY DID NEED NOT TAKE APART THE ABS SYSTEM. ALSO, THEY CHECKED A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE, BUT IT DID NOT SHOW ANY CODES. CONSUMER'S VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. NOTICED THIS AROUND AUGUST 1, 2005. *AK
DT: THE CONSUMER STATED THE STEERING LOCKED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE POWER STEERING PUMP ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED MORE THAN ONCE. THIS WAS DONE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED. THIS SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS AGO CONSUMER NOTICED BRAKES WOULD SHOOK ON UNEVEN PAVEMENT WHILE ROAD WORK WAS DONE. THIS CAUSED A CRASH, VEHICLE RAN INTO A TREE. CONSUMER SUSTAINED A BROKEN HAND AND NOSE. CONSUMER'S HUSBAND SUSTAINED BROKEN RIBS AND HAD A KNOT ON HEAD, AND TORE LIGAMENTS IN HIS ARM. THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP. ALSO, INSURANCE COMPANY INSPECTED VEHICLE AND FOUND SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE POWER STEERING BOOSTER. THIS AFFECTED THE POWER STEERING AND THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM; THE BLACK BOX HAS NOT BEEN RETRIEVED FROM THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE HOOD WOULD NOT OPEN. A POLICE REPORT WAS ISSUED. *AK
STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO TURN PROPERLY WHEN APPLIED. DRIVER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT STEERING HOUSING SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
WAS EXITING THE HUTCHINSON RIVER PKWY, SOUTH IN PELHAM, NY. ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR! I WAS UNABLE TO STOP, HIT ANOTHER CAR IN THE REAR AND HAD TO STEER INTO A UTILITY POLE TO AVOID AN ACTIVE INTERSECTION.
VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO START, AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE BATTERY BECAUSE IT WAS CORRODED. THEN, VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM FOR A SECOND TIME, AND THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS DRAINED. FINALLY, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND LOST POWER WHILE ON THE ROAD. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR A THIRD TIME FOR REPAIRS.*AK....THIRD TIME DEALER REPAIRED FUEL PUMP. AFTER THIRD REPAIR TRADED VEHICLE. *AK
CADILLAC ESCALADE 2003 POWER STEERING FAILED WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AT SLOW SPEED. *BF THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BY FIXING DOING VARIOUS THINGS TO THE BRAKES. GM FINALLY ADMITTED THERE WAS NO FIX TO THE PROBLEM. *JB
THE HEAT FROM THE REAR SEAT CAUSED THE FABRIC TO BURN. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR CHECKUP AND RESULTS SHOWED THAT THERE WAS A SHORTAGE IN THE WIRING, WHICH CAUSED THE SEAT TO OVER HEAT. *NM
CHROME LINING OF WHEELS HAS BEEN PEELING FOR YEARS. WHEN FIRST APPEARED FACTORY REP FROM CADILLAC/GM INSPECTED CAR AND STATED ONLY COSMETIC (CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY). MY CONCERN WAS THAT IT WOULD EVENTUALLY GO INTO THE INTERFACE OF THE TIRE AND WHEEL. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO GM SEVERAL OCCASIONS. IT HAS. BEEN BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES WHERE IT HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED TO BE A PROBLEM AND THAT THEY HAD A FIX. THIS FIX WAS PERFORMED NUMEROUS TIMES AT DEALER AND OTHER TIRE DEALERS, MR TIRE AND GOODYEAR. ALL OF THE TIRE DEALERS HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUE RIGHT AWAY. DEALER WANTS $1000.00 PER WHEEL TO REPLACE PLUS LABOR. GM NOT INTERESTED IN ANY FINANCIAL HELP OR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, CASE # 71-1423629281 (JANUARY 13, 2015). THEY STATED THAT THEY "HAVE TO FOLLOW COMPANY GUIDELINES", THAT THE "ISSUE IS TRICKY BECAUSE I HAVE CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE PAST BUT THERE IS NO RECALL", "THE YEAR OF MY VEHICLE PRECLUDES ANY FIX", "OUR GUIDELINES ONLY COVER UP TO 8 YEARS" ...... PLEASE HELP. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A FIX THAT DOES NOT LAST (AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR), AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE LOSS OF STEERING AND AN EVENTUAL ACCIDENT. *TR
AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE WASHED AT A CAR WASH. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE WINDSHIELD HAD A ORANGE PEEL TINT. THIS CAUSED POOR VISIBILITY TO THE DRIVER. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE THE CONSUMER STATED THAT IT WOULD NOT START. *TC THE BATTERY SEEM TO BE WORKING BUT THE IGNITION CIRCUIT WAS INOPERABLE. THE MECHANIC INFORM THE DRIVER THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM RECURRED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB THE DEALER DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS DEFECTIVE AND CAUSED FEEDBACK ON THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND MADE IT SHUT DOWN BLOWING A FUSE. THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE VEHICLE AND IS NOW ON THE ROAD AGAIN. *TC
CONSUMER COMPLAINED AFTER REPLACING TWO FRONT TIRES AT A TIRE COMPANY THE LEFT SIDE TIRE HAD 1 BROKEN LUG AND TWO LOOSE LUGS. THE RIGHT SIDE TIRE HAD THREE BROKEN LUGS AND THREE LOOSE LUGS. *AK
AFTER APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR THE TRUCK STARTED RELEASING THE BRAKES ON ITS OWN WHILE DESCENDING A MOUNTAIN AND HAD TO REAPPLY TO ENGAGE FOR BRAKES TO WORK THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES SINCE WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK. ITS WAS INSPECTED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT AND NOTHING WAS EVER DONE . I WAS TOLD IT WAS NORMAL FOR THIS TO OCCUR AND NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRUCK. OTHER ISSUES ARE THE ELECTRICAL IN THE DASH HAS SHORTS AND SOMETIMES THE A/C DOES NOT WORK AND COMES ON BY ITSELF. THE GAUGES ,SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL GAUGE DO NOT WORK ANYMORE AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON . THIS TRUCK WAS PURCHASED WITH ZERO MILES ON IT AND PURCHASED FOR OVER $ 70,000 AND NOW ONLY HAS 103,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING TRANSMISSION BOOSTER FAILED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL. *AK
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED A SEVEN YEARS OLD CHILD WAS LEANING ON THE LEFT PASSENGER WINDOW, WITH HALF OF THE CHILD'S HEAD INSIDE AND THE OTHER HALF OUTSIDE, WHEN SUDDENLY THE WINDOW PULLED UP AND TRAPPED HEAD BETWEEN THE WINDOWS AND THE FRAME. THE POLICE AND PARAMEDIC APPEARED ON THE SCENE TO RELEASE THE CHILD OUT OF THE WINDOW. *AK WHEN PRESSURE WAS ON THE WINDOW THE CONTROLS NO LONGER FUNCTIONED. UPON PULLING OUT OF A CAR WASH THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE BY THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT MASTER CYLINDER BROKE IN HALF WHICH WAS CAUSED BY A FAILURE IN MOLDING OF THE METAL, PER THE DEALERSHIP. *AK

STABILIZATION EQUIPMENT MAKES VEHICLE LOOSE ALL POWER FOR 5-10 SECONDS, MAKES A HORRIBLE NOISE AND SLIDES DOWN THE HILL WITHOUT ANY WAY TO CONTROL VEHICLE. I HAVE TEST DRIVEN WITH DEALER ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS AFTER REPAIRS. DEALER ADVISES A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. GM SAYS THERE IS NO PROBLEM JUST WAIT FOR NEW COMPUTER SOFTWARE PROGRAM TO BE RELEASED. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN A COLLISION EACH TIME DRIVING THE VEHICLE GOING HOME DAILY. THERE EXISTS A DESIGN DEFECT IN THE 2003 CADILLAC ESCALADE THAT RESULTS IN REPEATED ACCIDENTAL ACTIVATION OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT HEATING SYSTEM, MOST CRITICALLY IN THE SUMMER, CREATING A CONSTANT BURN HAZARD. THE DRIVER'S WINDOW CONTROL BUTTON CANNOT BE ACTIVATED WITHOUT FREQUENT AND REPEATED ACCIDENTAL ACTIVATION OF THE SEAT HEATING SYSTEM BECAUSE THE HEATING BUTTONS PHYSICALLY BLOCK ACCESS TO THE WINDOW CONTROLS. TO LOWER THE WINDOW, ONE'S HAND MUST MAKE PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH THE SEAT HEATER ACTIVATION BUTTONS. FOR INSULIN DEPENDENT DIABETICS (SUCH AS MYSELF) AS WELL AS OTHERS WHO MAY HAVE A DEMINISHED ABILITY TO SENSE ABNORMAL HEATING, THIS PRESENTS AN EXTREMELY SERIOUS BURN HARZARD.
