TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE. A PENNY FEEL BETWEEN THE CONSOLE AND THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER AND CAUSED A SHORT IN THE WIRING. THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE WIRING AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE WIRING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER SHOULD BE LOCATED IN A DIFFERENT POSITION IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE COULD HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
MY 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE WANTS TO SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THE SYSTEM IS RESETTING ITS SELF, CAUSING MY CAR TO STALL, THE ALTERNATOR GAUGE IS FLUCTUATING BACK AND FORTH. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR AN UNRELATED REPAIR WHEN THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE BRAKE BOOST VALVE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 04V045000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) BUT THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV. WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN ON A BUMPY ROAD, THE FRONT END CLUNKED AND SOUNDED AS IF IT WERE COMING APART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
I PURCHASED A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE IN MARCH 2010, HOWEVER SOON AFTER PURCHASE MY WATER PUMP HAD A LEAK WHICH THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY COULDN'T DO NOTHING ABOUT IT, A MONTH LATER WHEN I WENT TO BACK UP MY VEHICLE THE REVERSE DID NOT WORK MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE NO REVERSE I HAVE CONTACT CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AND THEY ACT LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT AND ALSO THE TRANSMISSION GAUGE INSIDE VEHICLE IS PASS THE LIMIT LINE OVER HEATING. *TR
PREMATURE FUEL PUMP FAILURE WITH NO ERROR CODE OR WARNING. OCCURRED ON A LOW TRAFFIC AREA HAVING NO COLLISION OR INJURIES. VEH IS 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV WITH 67 K MILES. TOTAL LOSS OF POWER CONTROLS. *TR
PASSLOCK SECURITY SYSTEM FAILURE - VEHICLE TRIES TO START THEN STOPS FIRING. PASSLOCK LIGHT COMES ON AND CANNOT START VEHICLE FOR 10 - 20 MINUTES. THIS HAS OCCURRED 7 TIMES IN 15 MONTHS BEGINNING AT 55K MILES. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALER REPAIRS ARE NOT PERMANENT. THESE REPAIRS RANGE FROM REPLACING IGNITION CYLINDERS TO SECURITY MODULES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65-75 MPH, THE CONTACT FELL ASLEEP. THE VEHICLE DRIFTED OFF THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A BRIDGE BARRIER. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BROKEN WRIST AND FACIAL LACERATIONS. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER WAS AIR-LIFTED TO THE HOSPITAL AND SUSTAINED A BROKEN RIGHT LEG AND SEVERE FACIAL INJURIES. THE REAR SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE SPINE. THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY WITH THE MASSIVE IMPACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE. HE STATED THAT THE PASSENGER REAR SEAT CAUGHT FIRE DUE TO THE SEAT WARMER THAT WAS ACTIVATED ON ITS OWN. HE SMELLED SMOKE AND THEN NOTICED THE FLAMES. HE WAS ABLE TO UNPLUG THE SEAT WARMER FROM UNDERNEATH THE SEAT; HOWEVER, THERE WERE DAMAGES TO THE SEAT, PILLOW AND A BLANKET. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD GIVE HIM A CALL; HOWEVER, HE HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE REPAIR FOR THE FAILURE IS COVERED PER THE WARRANTY. THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 107000.
DECEMBER 2009 WHILE DRIVING,,, THE HEATED SEATING COIL CAUGHT ON FIRE, BURNING THE SEAT FROM THE INSIDE OUT AND ALSO BURNING MY LEG. *TR
THE DRIVER SEAT HAS A SHORT IN IT. WHEN I PUSH THE FORWARD BUTTON ON THE SEAT, IT NOW GOES IN REVERSE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL ON THE VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE, INCLUDING THE SPEEDOMETER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT CADILLAC WOULD REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FOR FREE ON VEHICLES WITH LESS THAN 75,000 MILES. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW IF HIS VEHICLE FIT THE CRITERIA. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 88,100.
SPEEDOMETER, TACH AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGE DO NOT WORK ON 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE STEERING IN THE VEHICLE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK. SHE NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING WOULD LOCK UP, CAUSING HER TO WRESTLE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL TO PARK AND MOVE THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE GREAT EFFORT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED IN REFERENCE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V045000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). SHE WAS REFERRED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO REPAIR A FAILURE WITHIN THE STEERING GEAR BOX BEFORE THE RECALL REPAIR COULD BE PERFORMED. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $1,100. THE CONTACT ASKED IF SHE COULD GET A SECOND OPINION AT A REPAIR SHOP, BUT THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT TAKE THE OPINION OF ANOTHER MECHANIC INTO CONSIDERATION, IF THEY WERE NOT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. TWO OTHER ESCALADE OWNERS OF THE SAME YEAR WHO ARE NEIGHBORS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. SPEEDOMETER SPENDS AROUND AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE YOUR SPEED. *TR

WE HAVE A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE. A FEW WEEKS AGO THE RIGHT REAR SEAT WARMER CAUGHT ON FIRE. WE TOOK IT TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP AND THEY BAGGED IT WHILE IT WAS STILL SMOKING AND PUT OIT BACK IN CAR AND SPRAYED FREBREEZE IN THE CAR AND SENT US ON OUR WAY AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL. THEY DID NOT EVEN GIVE US SOMETHING STATING WE WERE THERE. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS HAVING IT FIXED AND LETTING OTHERS KNOW SO THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE.OUR DAUGHTER WAS ASLEEP ON TOP OF TWO PILLOWS LAYING ON THE SEAT.NOW EVERYTHING IS DRAGGING SUCH AS ALL THE WINDOWS. THE NEEDLE ON THE SPEEDOMETER OF MY 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE WILL STICK OR SLOWLY DROP DOWN TO 0 WHILE DRIVING. IT APPEARS TO ONLY HAPPEN AT NIGHT TIME WHILE THE LIGHTS ARE ON. *TR
2004 ESCALADE ESV; SPEEDOMETER AT ABOUT 70,000 MILES BEGAN TO GO HAYWIRE, SOMETIMES STICKING ON 0MPH OTHER TIMES ON 140MPH. AFTER A FEW DAYS OF THIS IT STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. I TOOK THE CAR INTO A DEALERSHIP FOR AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND TOLD THEM TO PLEASE LOOK AT THE SPEEDOMETER BECAUSE ITS NOT WORKING. THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT SAYING IT HAD MORE THAN 70,000 MI...THAT WAS 2008 AND IT HASN'T WORKED SINCE. I ESTIMATE MY SPEED BY THE TACHOMETER (NOT SAFE)...ORIGINAL BROKEN PART IS STILL INSTALLED...I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. *TR
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE AND MY SPEEDOMETER HAS QUIT WORKING IT STARTED MALFUNCTIONING/STICKING, NOT SHOWING CORRECT SPEED ON APPROXIMATELY FEBRUARY 27, 09 AS OF TODAY IT HAS QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER. WHEN I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (RED NOLAND CADILLAC) I WAS ADVISED THE COST TO REPAIR THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $370. AND BECAUSE I HAVE APROX 72,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE THE SPECIAL BULLETIN THAT WAS ISSUED BY GM HAS EXPIRED. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP IF THERE WERE ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THE SPECIAL BULLETIN SINCE I AM ONLY 2,000 MILES OVER THE THRESHOLD, I WAS TOLD THAT IF I WAS THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE THEY COULD HELP ME, BUT SINCE I AM NOT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. *TR
HAD MY ESCALADE ESV IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR SERVICE ON THE TRANSMISSION, AT 122,000 MY 3RD AND OVERDRIVE BAND BROKE LEAVING ME STRANDING IN GILROY CALIFORNIA, NOT A BAD PLACE REALLY NICE PEOPLE. WROTE A LETTER TO THE CHAIRMAN OF GM, RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM SOMEONE NAMED AMY, AND HERE IS THE DIALOGUE: I AM SORRY THIS HAPPEN WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING, NO WONDER GM IS LOSING MARKET SHARE. *TR
I STOPPED AT THE POST OFFICE WITH MY 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. I PUT THE ESCALADE IN PARK WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON IN A PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING WITH MY DAUGHTER IN IT. A LADY NEXT TO MY CAR SAID SHE HEARD THE VEHICLE MAKE A NOISE AND POPPED OUT OF PARK AND INTO REVERSE. THE ESCALADE WAS MAKING GRINDING NOISE FROM THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AS IT WAS BACKING UP. THE VEHICLE BACKED INTO A PARKED CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE STEPPER MOTOR FOR THE INSTRUMENT GAUGE CLUSTER DASHBOARD FAILED. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE SPEEDOMETER, FUEL GAUGE, AND TACHOMETER TO DISPLAY THE INCORRECT READINGS AND FAIL COMPLETELY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (HENDRICK AND CARREY CADILLAC, 101 TEAM HENDRICK WAY #101, CARY, NC 27511) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT MISSED THE SPECIAL ROLL OUT PROGRAM TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ 100 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IF HE WERE AT A STOP THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ 120 MPH. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS. THE SPEEDOMETER EVENTUALLY STOPPED REGISTERING ANY SPEED. TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT WOULD GO INTO GEAR WITH THE IGNITION BEING IN THE ACCESSORY POSITION WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS SON WAS IN THE VEHICLE THE KEY WAS ON ACCESSORY POSITION, AND THE CHILD PULLED THE GEAR SHIFT INTO REVERSE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STRIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE. WHEN HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT, THE REASON THAT YOU CAN PULL THE GEAR SHIFT IS IN CASE YOU NEED TO TOW THE VEHICLE, SO YOU CAN SET IT IN NEUTRAL. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE MAKING TURNS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL MADE A CLUNKING NOISE. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT HAS EXCESSIVE WEAR AND FILLED IT WITH GREASE.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE SEAT HEATER ELECTRICALLY SHOCKED THE PASSENGER RESULTING IN SECOND DEGREE BURNS TO THE BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHO REPLACED THE HEATING SYSTEM IN THE BACK SUPPORT OF THE SEAT.
DT: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE HAD A PUNCTURE IN THE TIRE, THE SIZE OF A PENCIL. THE SPEED THAT THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING WAS ABOUT 35 MPH. THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT ON THE TIRE. THE CONTACT HAD A GM REPRESENTATIVE LOOK AT THE TIRE. THE REPRESENTATIVE HAD PLENTY OF EXCUSES FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT DID NOT GET ANY INFORMATION THAT WAS SATISFACTORY. THE CONTACT WAS A SAFETY ENGINEER AND DEALT IN THE TIRE INDUSTRY. HE KNEW THAT THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. THE TREAD ON THE TIRE RIPPED ALL AROUND AND INTO THE RIM. THE VEHICLE WAS ON A SMOOTH DIRT ROAD. THE LOCATION WAS THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE.*AK
ON JULY 16TH, 2005; I WAS INVOLVED IN A LIFE CHANGING, SINGLE VEHICLE AUTO ACCIDENT. I STRUCK A HILL WITH THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WITH ENOUGH EXCESSIVE FORCE TO FLIP THIS CADILLAC ESCALADE HEAD FIRST. THE ESCALADE FLIPPED TWICE, IMPACTING THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND LANDING UP SIDE DOWN. ASTONISHINGLY, OUT OF THE FOUR AIR BAGS IN THIS VEHICLE, NOT ONE OF THEM DEPLOYED. I PURCHASED THIS 2004 ESCALADE BRAND NEW AND AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT IT ONLY HAD 15,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSS AND IT IS UTTERLY UNBELIEVABLE THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH THE RAVED REVIEWS, CONSUMER REPORTS INCLUDING SAFETY FEATURES, AND STYLISH BODY THAT THIS CADILLAC ESCALADE BECAME THE VEHICLE OF MY DREAMS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY CADILLAC EXPERIENCE. I DO NOT TRUST THIS VEHICLE ENOUGH TO GET INTO ANOTHER ONE. I KNOW THAT I AM ONLY HERE BECAUSE GOD DECIDED THE SPARE MY LIFE. AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THIS ACCIDENT I FREQUENTLY SUFFER SEVERE MIGRAINES, DIZZY SPELLS, BLURRED VISION, MEMORY LOSS, AND ANXIETY/PANIC ATTACKS ALL WHICH KEEP ME FROM SLEEPING. IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO COMMUTE FROM DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS AND WORK FOR FEAR OF ANOTHER ACCIDENT. THE NEXT WEEK I HAD SEVERE CHEST, SHOULDER AND LOWER BACK PAINS; ALL OF WHICH I AM BEING TREATED FOR ON A REGULAR BASIS. I ALSO SEEK TREATMENT FROM A NEUROLOGIST FOR THE HEAD INJURY. I BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAGS AND GM SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER INVESTIGATING THIS MATTER. *NM

I BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAGS AND GM SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER INVESTIGATING THIS MATTER. *NM
DT: THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE WAS HAVING AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED ALONG WITH THE RPMS, THE LEVERS WERE MISREADING THE INFORMATION. THE LIGHTS WERE BLINKING ON AND OFF AND BECAME VERY DIM AND YELLOWISH. THE BRIGHT LIGHTS WERE VERY DIM ALSO. THE INSTRUMENTS ON STEERING WHEEL WERE GETTING VERY WARM, AND THEY WERE NOT SUPPOSE TO, SPECIFICALLY STATED THE CONSUMER. THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM WAS HAVING PROBLEMS READING INFORMATION. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER HAS CALLED GM, AND THEY WILL NOT CALL THE CONSUMER BACK. THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AT THIS POINT. FIRST OCCURANCE: 3/05 NOTICED TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE LIGHT UP IN VEHICLE, WENT TO GAS STATION CHECKED ALL TIRES AND FILLED FRONT PASSENGER TIRE. ONE DAY LATER SAME TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT ON, WENT TO TIRE SHOP TO FIX FLAT TIRE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE RIM HAD THREE HAIR LINE CRACKS IN IT , TOOK RIM TO DEALER AND DEALER WOULD NOT REPLACE. SECOND OCCURANCE: 7/05 SAME THING HAPPENS BUT TO FRONT DRIVER SIDE RIM. THE VEHICLE HASN'T EVEN BEEN DRIVEN ENOUGH TO GET A FLAT TIRE LET ALONE A RIM WITH TWO HAIR LINE CRACKS IN IT. DEALER WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE RIMS, AND WON'T EVEN DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITY OF A DEFECT. I STILL HAVE BOTH THE RIMS. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME IN THIS MATTER. THANKS ANDREA BENSON

DT: PROBLEM WAS NOTICED IN 5/05 WHEN KEY WAS TURNED ON, NO LIGHT CAME ON REGARDING THE STABILITY CONTROL FUNCTION. WAS PUT ON DIAGNOSTICS, BUT NO ERROR CODE SHOWED. OWNER MANUAL STATED THE LIGHT WILL COME ON BRIEFLY WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THEN DISAPPEAR. IF THE LIGHT DOES NOT GO ON, THEN STABILITY CONTROL FUNCTION MAY NEED SERVICE. THE ENTIRE ELECTRIC SYSTEM FAILED IN APRIL, WHEN RADIO, AND OTHER ELECTRIC FUNCTIONS FAILED. ALSO, THE LOW PSI LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE TIRE WENT FLAT. THIS HAPPENED AFTER THE REPAIR OF ELECTRIC SYSTEM. TRANSMISSION FAILED, AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. SHOULD GIVE AN IDEA HIGH SPEED OTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING. 8-10 SECONDS FROM IMPACT, ONSTAR CAME ON AUTOMATICALLY, THEY RECD. EMERGENCY MESSAGE VIA SATELLITE, VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN A SERIOUS MVA AND AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. WE DIDN'T CALL ONSTAR THEY CALLED US. NEXT DAY WE CALLED ASKED HOW THEY KNEW WE WERE ACCIDENT. TOLD US DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY, THEY GET CERTAIN SIGNALS, WHICH OURS HAD ADVISED OF SERIOUSNESS & AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. UNBELIEVABLY, NONE OF OUR 4 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WE & HUNDREDS OF OUR FRIENDS ARE IN TOTAL DISBELIEF WHEN YOU SEE THE CONDITION VEIHICLE WAS LEFT IN & THAT 4 AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. WE WERE INJURED BUT BY GRACE OF GOD INJURIES WERE NOT LIFE THREATENING. HEAD,UPPERANDLOWERBACK,NECK,LEGS,SHOULDER,HIPSAND ARMS EXTREMLEY SORE. THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE 2 INJURIES. *JB *SC
1ST INCIDENT 1) I WAS GOING TO PARK IN A SPOT BETWEEN TWO BUILDING, ONLY LARGE ENOUGH FOR ONE VEHICLE. I CAME DOWN THE ROAD, WHICH HAS A DECLINE TO IT, AND TURNED RIGHT, INTO THE PARKING SPOT. DUE TO THE ROAD BEING 1 WAY, AND THE PARKING SPOT BEING TIGHT, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY INTO THE PARKING SPOT. I TURNED THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO BACK UP TO GO STRAIGHT INTO THE PARKING SPOT. I PRESSED THE BRAKE, SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. MEANWHILE, A LADY WALKED IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE ON THE SIDEWALK. 2) THE VEHICLE ROLLED FORWARD, EVEN THOUGH THE RPMS WERE AT APPROXIMATELY 2200 RPMS AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. I HIT THE BRAKE, BUT THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY HIT THE LADY. SHE WAS FORTUNATELY FINE, AND CONTINUED ON HER WAY. 3) I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY TOLD ME IT WAS WORKING WITHIN IN DESIGN PARAMETERS. THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THAT COULD BE DONE. I CALLED CADILLAC CUSTOMER CARE, AND INFORMED THEM OF THE PROBLEM. THEY ALSO SAID AT THE TIME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, AND CHALKED IT UP TO A FLUKE. 2ND INCIDENT 1) I PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AGAIN WITH A DECLINE. ABOUT 2 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS A CEMENT POST. I CAME OUT, STARTED THE TRUCK, PRESSED THE BRAKE, AND SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. 2). I PRESSED THE GAS, THE RPMS WERE OVER 2000 RPMS, AND THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN DID NOT REVERSE BUT RATHER ROLLED FORWARD INTO THE CEMENT POST, CRACKING MY FRONT BUMPER. AFTER THAT, THE REVERSE ENGAGED AND THE TRUCK STARTED REVERSING. 3). THE DEALERSHIP CURRENTLY HAS THE VEHICLE, AND IS TELLING ME TO COME PICK IT UP, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I ASKED WHAT IT WAS GOING TO TAKE BEFORE THEY DID SOMETHING, AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I HAVE CALLED CADILLAC CUSTOMER CARE AGAIN, LEFT 3 MESSAGES, AND STILL AHVE NOT HEARD BACK. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE LIABILITY OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT THIS POINT.
THE LEFT REAR WHEEL BEARING FAILED ON A NEW 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON AND THE A SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGE ON THE DASH. THERE WAS NO NOISE OR WARNING PRIOR. AFTER THE BEARING SEIZED, THE AXEL SNAPPED AND THE ONLY THING HOLDING THE WHEEL ON WAS THE BRAKE CALIPER. THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ENTIRE REAR AXEL, DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY. I HAVE HEARD OF WHEEL FAILURES ON CHEVROLET AVALANCHE TRUCK'S ALSO (SAME CHASSIS). MY CONCERN IS THAT THERE IS A COMPONENT PROBLEM WITH THE WHEEL BEARING ON THESE TRUCKS WHICH COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. *JB
THE HORN DOES NOT ALWAYS SOUND. THERE SEEMS TO BE A BAD CONNECTION IN THE HORN PAD AT THE STEERING WHEEL. IF THE HORN IS NOT USED FOR A WHILE, IT WILL NOT SOUND WHEN YOU NEED IT. BUT AFTER YOU GET IT TO WORK, IT WILL WORK EVERY TIME UNTIL YOU DON'T USE IT AGAIN FOR A WHILE.*AK
BAD LEASE ON 2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE CAR WAS DAMAGED AT PURCHASE AND WAS NOT TOLD AND WANTS A REIMBURSEMENT**CC THE CONSUMER AND HIS WIFE COMPLAINED OF THE POORLY DESIGNED LEATHER SEATS. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN THE NEXT WEEK. THERE WAS A PART ORDERED, AND REPLACED. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. GENERAL MOTORS STATED THAT THE AIRBAG WIRING HARNESS WOULD BE REPLACED BY THEM, HOWEVER NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. AS OF THIS DATE THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALERS AWAITING REPAIR. *NM
