My front passenger side brake keeps locking and overheating. I have replaced the calibers 2 times, my brake pads 2 times and the brake hose all in a period of 3 months. My back rear brake light also gets stuck and stays on after i put my car in park and turn off my car. In order for me to release it, I have to press down firmly on the brake pedal and or restart the car, drive around put it back in park and then press down firmly on the brake pedal for it to turn off. The back rear light staying on and the front passenger brakes overheating happen intermittently multiple times throughout the day or week with no particular pattern. When my front passenger brake overheats, it begins to smoke and shake/vibrate violently which causes me to have to pull the car over and wait about 15min for it to cool down before getting back on the road. No ABS lights, no Engine lights come on, only a message pops up on my dashboard that says "Breaks Overheating" and then it goes away on its own after 15minutes. I see that your website has a preliminary announcement but there should be a recall on this issue. on 9/9 I went to Radley Cadillac on 3421 Jeff Davis Hwy Fredericksburg VA 22401 for a diagnostic & they stated that my Brake Pedal Arm, EBC and BPMV need to be replaced b/c it keeps engaging & locking my front passenger brake. I also went to another repair shop for a 2nd opinion on 9/10 & paid another diag fee they stated the same thing, 4637 Mine Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 that the brake pedal arm will need to be replaced first as to they believe this is the underlying issue and the code C0161 was present. I was quoted over $2800 - $3500 to get this job done. Neither establishments mentioned this service announcement https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10141352-9999.pdf , i found this on my own by researching and googling this problem. I am asking that you deem this is a safety issue as to this involves braking and the safety of my vehicle. thank you.
My car shut down while driving. Unable to brake or steer. Very scary incident.

The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently decelerate with the stabilitrak warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle to resume normal driving. The contact then received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension). The dealer was notified of the failure and acknowledged the recall; however, the part for the recall repair was not available. The contact was then given the option to have a diagnostic test performed on the vehicle which she declined. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and offered to assist her with the failure. The contact was informed that she would receive a callback. The contact had yet to receive a callback from the manufacturer. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that there were electrical shortages on the dashboard, the smoke odor was detected while starting the vehicle, water was getting into the liftgate, all the warning lights were illuminated, and the vehicle would hydroplane when it rained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and another dealer, Herman Jenkins Motors Inc (2030 W Reelfoot Ave, Union City, TN 38261) on separate occasions for an unknown diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that all of the recalls for the vehicle were repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE STABILITRAK AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED, AS WELL AS OTHER LIGHTS. THE BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP.
The seal used in the headlight housing is of cheap quality. It rained yesterday and both the headlights of my car were filled with moisture. The car has never been in an accident not there are any dents or broken parts around the headlight housing that will cause this issue. The headlights stopped working and it became hazardous driving condition. This has been a common problem in this year and generation of SRX but my vehicle didn’t have any recalls but yet I’m facing this problem
ON THE INTERSTATE (I-74 IN INDIANA) TRAVELING AT 70MPH THE REAR TOE LINK BROKE. MY CAR SWAYED TERRIBLY BACK AND FORTH AND ALMOST SPUN OUT COMPLETELY. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO A REPAIR SHOP (NOT CADILLAC) RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY. THEY SAID THE REAR TOE LINK WAS BROKEN AND THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER CADILLAC SAID BACK IN 2015 (BEFORE I OWNED THE VEHICLE) THERE WAS A RECALL AND THE TOE LINKS WERE "ADJUSTED". CLEARLY THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER CARS EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO ME THIS COULD HAVE HAD DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES. THE CAR IS NOW IN THE SHOP (AT SOME RANDOM SHOP IN INDIANA) GETTING FIXED BUT CADILLAC HAS SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR COST. I DO NOT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION YET BUT WILL PROVIDE IT ONCE THE CAR IS FIXED.
When driving at night with my headlights on regular low beam, I can't see a [XXX] thing! It is beyond dangerous to drive with low beams on. Unfortunately it has resulted in me driving with my brights on causing oncoming motorists to deal with being vision impaired, making it another dangerous situation! This is completely ridiculous that Cadillac will not recall these headlamps. I am not able to afford the replacements and was totally unaware of this issue when I purchased this SUV last April. What a shame! I love the car, just hate that I can't see driving at night. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY HEADLIGHTS SINCE THE DAY IT FIRST RAINED AND I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE. NOW THE LIGHTS HAVE DIMMED ALL THE WAY DOWN AND FLICKER AS I DRIVE AT NIGHT CAN'T SEE ANYTHING. I HAVE REPLACED NUMEROUS BULBS AND FUSES TO NO AVAIL. THE SEATS ACT WEIRD WHEN YOU SET THEM FOR YOURSELF OR ANOTHER DRIVER. THE WIPERS BARLEY WORK ITS LIKE DRIVING TRYING TO KILL YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE.
Problem: My 2010 Cadillac SRX with 87,000 miles been having issues with downshifting , my vehicle would not shift to second or higher gear while driving and makes it very unsafe on the road. When this occurs I would try to pull over safely to park. My SRX would be drivable if shifted to park and then shift to drive or if i turn off the vehicle and re-start. I have been back and forth going to my mechanic( s). I was told possible TCM issues but no definite diagnosis. I have been reading a lot of 2010 SRX owners on Cadillac forums with exact similar issues and decided on making this official to report to NHTSA hoping it would open an investigation and figure out the defect on this type vehicle. My vehicle issue or problem started to become symptomatic around year 2021 and my SRX has around 63,000 miles on it. I keep up with the regular scheduled maintenance and upkeep, The SRX looks like new and would like to keep it longer as the rest of the vehicle is kept it's appearance and other parts well. I have reported this issue directly to the main contact number @Cadillac company and they told me my vehicle VIN is not included on the safety recall with shifting issues and offered me a $100.00 for repair coupon instead for future repairs. i have spent thousands of dollars fixing the unidentifiable issue whenever the engine light comes on and throws out a code but my downshifting problem continues.
THE REAR LIFT GATE OPENS RANDOMLY. PARKED IN THE GARAGE, IT OPENS. OUT SHOPPING PARKED IN A LOT AND RETURN TO CAR AND IT'S OPEN. PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, IT OPENS. IT HAPPENS WHENEVER AND WHEREVER. WHEN I NOTICE THE LIFT GATE HAS OPENED, I CLOSE IT AND CHECK IT 20 MINUTES LATER ONLY TO FIND IT OPEN AGAIN.
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that soon after start-up, the "service stabilitrak" warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. After the first warning message, a second warning message would state "service stabilitrak, reducing power," as the vehicle would begin to stall. The contact would restart the vehicle a few minutes after failure to resume normal driving. The contact then received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The dealer and the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 210,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP HAS WATER INSIDE. THIS CAUSES THE HEADLIGHT TO GO OFF COMPLETELY FOR A WHILE. IT'S AS IF A SHORT EXISTS. VISIBILITY IS BAD. GM CADILLAC SENT A LETTER RECENTLY THAT A DESIGN DEFECT EXISTS. IF THE PROBLEM OCCURRED IN MY VEHICLE, I CAN GET REIMBURSED. WELL, THE PROBLEM OCCURED ON THE RIGHT SIDE HEADLIGHT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. DEALERSHIP FIXED IT AND I HAD TO PAY. I RECENTLY RECEIVED A PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT FROM GM. AT THE TIME, THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE OTHER HEADLIGHT WAS NOT SO BAD. THEY DID NOT REPLACE, BUT I DID NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO REPLACE IT AT THE TIME. TODAY, I CALLED A CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT GM WILL NOT COVER IT BECAUSE IT HAD TO BE DONE BY SEPTEMBER 2020. HOWEVER, WHY WOULD THERE BE A LIMIT ON AN ADMITTED DESIGN DEFECT BY THE MANUFACTURER? IT IS A SAFETY DEFECT IN MY OPINION, AS I AM A NIGHT DRIVER IN THE RAINY PACIFIC NORTHWEST. ATTACHED ARE 2 PHOTOS. THE CLOUDY ONE IS THE LEFT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW (PHOTO IMG 3203) AND THE CLEAR ONE THAT WAS REPLACED IS ON THE RIGHT (IMG 3204).
EVERY TIME IT RAINS MOISTURE GET IN THE HEADLIGHTS AND THEY GO OUT UNTIL IT DRYS
BEFORE I PURCHASED THIS CAR I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THE DEALERSHIP IF IT HAD HEADLIGHT ISSUES GETTING MOISTURE IN AND THEN HID LIGHTS GOING OUT. I WAS TOLD NO THAT IT DID NOT. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THEY HAD IT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ONE MORE WEEK BECAUSE THEY WERE DOING A REPAIR ON THE IN-DASH ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM. I PICKED THE CAR UP DROVE IT HOME THAT EVENING AND NOTICED THE HEADLIGHTS WERE DIFFERENT COLORS. WITHIN ONE WEEK WE HAD SOME RAIN, THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY DURING THIS TIME AND WHEN IT WAS DRIVEN NEXT MY FRONT RIGHT HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. THEY ARE A HIGH LOW BEAM HID LIGHT WHICH CANNOT STAND MOISTURE. I LET THE DEALERSHIP KNOW THEY HAVE NOT GOTTEN BACK WITH ME AS TO FIXING THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE I TOLD THEM IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. AND I FEEL THAT I WAS MISLED WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED IT HAD I KNOWN AND I HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY BEEN PULLED OVER IN THE SAID VEHICLE TWICE WELL I HAVE BEEN AWAITING COMMUNICATION WITH THE DEALERSHIP, AS I HAVE EMAILED MY SALESPERSON WHY AND TOLD HIM WHAT I FOUND OUT FROM A DEALERSHIP HOW THE REPAIR PROCESS IS TO WORK. I WAS TOLD BY HIM PREVIOUSLY MY SALES GUY, THAT WE WOULD BOTH GATHER INFORMATION AND THAT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD COME UP WITH I PLAN TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. THE LIGHT WENT OUT MID-TO-LATE OCTOBER AND HERE IT IS DECEMBER 23RD AND I STILL HAVE NO HEADLIGHT.
MY CADILLAC WILL GO INTO DRIVE AND REVERSE BUT WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IT WON'T SHIFT THE RPMS STAY REAL HIGH IT WONT SHIFT RATHER SHOULD I SAY IN MY CADILLAC

HEADLIGHTS ARE BAD EVEN CHANGING THE BULBS QUITE A FEW TIMES. AND ASKED FROM A DEALERSHIP THEY WANT TO CHANGE THE HEADLIGHTS COMPLETELY AND REPAIR COULD COST OVER $1500 DOLLARS THAT IS A RIP OF ALREADY PAID HELL LOT A MONEY TO BUY THIS CAR
HEADLIGHTS ARE ALWAYS FULL OF MOISTURE/CONDENSATION ON THE INSIDE
HEADLIGHT ISSUE. GM SAID THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR WHAT I PAID TO GET MY HEADLIGHTS FIXED, BUT THEY APPEAR TO BE SCAMMING ME AND GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. NOT ABLE TO FIND SOMEONE TO HELP ME. NO WAY TO MAKE A COMPLAINT. PLEASE HELP ME.
THERE IS ALREADY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT REGARDING THE HEADLIGHTS FOGGING AND DIMMING WHILE DRIVING ON THIS MODEL VEHICLE. BOTH DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE LIGHTS FOG, WHICH CAUSES THE HEADLIGHTS TO BOTH DIM AND GO OUT CAUSING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF REPAIR. I HAVE NOW HAD TO HAVE MINE REPLACED TWICE DUE TO FOGGING IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF BEING STATIONARY, PARKED, INDOORS OR OUTDOORS, DRIVING OR NOT. HOWEVER, THE CLASS ACTION WAS ONLY SETTLED FOR MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA - CADILLAC HAS ADMITTED THERE IS A PROBLEM, BUT WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM IN OTHER STATES.
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would sway from side to side with the service engine warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that an abnormal grinding sound would emit from the axle. Additionally, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who replaced the driveshaft; however, the power steering failure persisted without warning. The contact then received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact then took the vehicle to a dealer where she was then referred to another dealer; however, the contact received no response from the second dealer. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Car shook bad and made it hard to make turns, I broke down on the side of the road and had to buy a new drive shaft
(1) REAR HATCH CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY, SENSOR SHORTED OUT DUE TO DESIGN FLAW ALLOWING WATER TO COME IN CONTACT WITH SENSOR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE.NO WAY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE REAR. NO SAFETY RELEASE. (2) HEADLIGHTS POOR DESIGN , CONDENSATION BEHIND FRONT HEADLIGHTS MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AT NIGHT. (3) SUNROOF DRAIN LINE TOO SHORT, DESIGN ISSUE. WATER COLLECTS FROM ROOF DRAIN AND LEAKS INTO PASSENGER FLOOR. WHEN THIS LINE BECOMES DISLODGED. DRAIN LINE IS ABOUT 2 INCHES TOO SHORT. CADILLAC KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT WILL DO NOTHING TO FIX IT. AGAIN ANOTHER $1000.00. THE FRONT DASH DASH NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO FIX THIS. CADILLAC IS AWARE OF ALL THESE ISSUES AND REFUSES TO MAKE CORRECTIONS, THESE ARE ALL COMMON PROBLEMS NOT JUST MY VEHICLE BUT EVERY OTHER SRX FROM 2010 TO 2015. I'VE BEEN TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASION AND ALL I'VE GOTTEN WAS IT WILL COST X AMOUNT OF DOLLARS TO FIX IT. THEY RECENTLY SENT OUT A REPAIR FORM FOR THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE , BUT REQUIRE YOU TO PAY UP FRONT AND HOPEFULLY YOU'LL GET YOUR MONEY REIMBURSED AFTER FILLING OUT MULTIPLE FORMS.
2010 CADILLAC SRX:VEHICLE IDLE ROUGH AND KILLING I GET A ENGINE SHUT OFF MESSAGE AND CODES P0017 POPS UP I TAKE TO DEALERSHIP AND I AM TOLD IT'S MY TIMING CHAIN THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACE VEHICLE IS STILL IN GREAT CONDITION I GOT AN OIL CHANGE THE DAY BEFORE INCIDENT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 4 YEARS AGO .I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT'S HAVING THIS PROBLEM A RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE ON TIMING CHAIN.IT WILL COST ME 2800 TO FIX VEHICLE IS STILL LIKE NEW BESIDES TIMING CHAIN
TLA* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED OUTSIDE OF THE GARAGE, WHEN HIS WIFE NOTICED A FLUID LEAK UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,695.*DT*JB*DT CONSUMER STATED ACCORDING TO THE CAMPAIGN IN 2010 VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED, REPLACEMENT OF FAULTY HOSE.*JB
CAR DOESN'T WANT TO START RIGHT AWAY. ALMOST LIKE IT ISN'T GETTING GAS RIGHT AWAY. HAVE TO PUSH GAS PEDAL TO GET IT TO "REV" UP. WILL IDLE FUNNY WHEN AT STOPS.
THERE IS MOISTURE COLLECTING IN THE HEADLAMPS AND HAS CAUSED THE DRIVER SIDE LOW/HIGH BEAM HID HEADLIGHT TO STOP WORKING.
MOISTURE IN BOTH HEADLIGHT PLASTIC ASSEMBLIES CAUSING THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS TO APPEAR VERY DIM, RESTRICTING NIGHT VISION. THE ONLY OPTION IS TO DRIVE WITH THE HI BEAMS ON ALL THE TIME OR NOT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE MOISTURE IS ALSO CAUSING THE BULBS TO GO OUT PREMATURELY.
PASSENGER HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS MOISTURE IN IT, WHICH BLOCKS THE LIGHT, AND HID LIGHT JUST FAILED. NOT A LIGHT BULB ISSUE, BUT OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS FAILING DUE TO MOISTURE. UNSAFE CONDITION, AND HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ARE NOTED ON THE NHTSA COMPLAINTS SITE AND ELSEWHERE.
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact's husband stated that over a year ago, the service rear axle message illuminated on the instrument panel while driving at various speeds. The contact's husband had then taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who reset the error code. Recently, the contact's husband stated that the same message returned, and the vehicle would rattle while driving over bumps in the road. The contact’s husband then received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension). The contact's husband called the dealer who informed him that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was unknown. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
I RARELY DRIVE AT NIGHT, BUT WHEN I DO THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I CANNOT SEE ANYTHING
WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 50 MPH THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER SIGNAL CAME ON AND IT STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND POWERED DOWN TO 18MPH AND WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER CAUSING ME TO ALMOST GET REAR ENDED, I HAD TOOK IN TO REPAIR SHOP RIGHT AWAY, THEY PUT IT ON THE SCANNER AND TOLD ME THAT I IT WAS A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE SO I GOT THAT FIXED THE NEXT DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN SO I TOOK IT BACK AND THEN THEY SAID THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE FIXED AND THEN THEY SAID TO LOOK AND SEE IF IT WAS A RECALLED ISSUE BECAUSE WITH ONLY 102,000 MILES I HAD RESEARCHED AND I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY SUV AND NO RECALLS, THE SHOP SAID ITS A BIG JOBS AND ITS GOING TO COST OVER 3,000 DOLLARS AND THE CAR IS ONLY WORTH 4500 AT THE PRESENT TIME, ALSO MY STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT STAYS ON THEY I HAD ALREADY GOT THAT FIXED ON AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF BUT NOW IT IS BACK ON THE SHOP SAID IT IS DUE TO THE POOR DESIGN ON CADILLAC'S PART FROM THE SMALL MAGNETIC RING THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE BEARING, I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ALSO AND I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND AGAIN NO RECALL, ALSO WHEN STARTING MY SUV ALL MY PANELS DON'T WORK AND IF I POWER DOWN MY WINDOWS IT IS VERY VERY SLOW TO COME BACK UP I HAVE TO SHUT MY CAR OFF AND RESTART IT FOR EVERYTHING TO WORK AGAIN , I HAD RESEARCHED THIS AND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS BUT AGAIN NO RECALL, ALSO THE FRONT HEAD LIGHT ARE CONSTANTLY FOGGING UP AGAIN BAD DESIGN ON CADILLAC I RESEARCHED THIS AND AGAIN A LOT OF COMPLAINT AS WELL, BUT NO RECALLS IT SEEM THAT THE 2010 CADILLAC SRX HAS A LOT OF DEFECT AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT ALSO THIS STUFF IS VERY DANGERS AND SAFETY ISSUES THAT ARE NOT BEING ADDRESSED AND SOMEBODY IS GOING TO END UP DEAD OR IS THAT WHAT CADILLAC WAITS FOR BEFORE RECALLING, IT COULD OF BEEN VERY BAD FOR ME IF I DID END UP GETTING REAR ENDED I WAS VERY LUCKY.
HEADLIGHT ON PASSANGER SIDE NOT WORKING CHANGED BULBS AND FUSES STILL THE LOW AND HIGHBEAMS ARE NOT WORKING.
Water gets into the headlight assembly causing the lights to dim and create a safety hazard, Caddilac knows of this problem but did not issue a recall only a reimbursement offer that has expired.
MY CAR WAS GOING 70 ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER SIGNAL CAME ON AND MY CAR JERKED AND STARTED POWERING DOWN. IT WAS A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. NOW MY CARS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WON'T WORK, AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WON'T WORK BECAUSE OF SMALL MAGNETS THAT HAD POOR DESIGN. MY CAR WINDOWS DON'T OPEN. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTS OF WHILE THE CAR IS DRIVING AND I CAN'T SEE MY STEERING PANEL AT ALL.
WHILE L WAS CROSSING THE RAILROAD TRACKS, THE DRIVER SEAT CAME OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND JOLTED ME FORWARDS, THANKFULLY L HAD MY SEAT BELT ON. THIS HAPPENED RIGHT BY THE WAFFLE HOUSE ON CHESTER ROAD ADJACENT TO BOJANGLES AND FOOD LION 1/10/2020. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING WHILE THE SEAT MOVES WITH EVERY TURN OR BUMP L DRIVE OVER ON THE ROAD. PLEASE ADVISE.
SOMETIMES TAKING OFF IN THE CAR IT MIGHT NOT SHIFT CAUSING THE THE CAR TO REV. YOU CAN PULL OVER AND STOP PUT THE CAR INTO PARK THEN BACK INTO DRIVE IT WILL SHIFT PROPERLY YOU JUST NEVER KNOW! VERY VERY DANGEROUS IN BIG INTERSECTIONS AND BUSY CITIES.
HEADLIGHT PROBLEM, I CHANGE THE HEADLIGTS 3 YEARS BACK AT THE DEALER BECAUSE OF WATER INSIDE THE UNITS. NOW 3 YEARS LATER I DRIVING IN COMPLETE DARKNESS THE INSIDE REFLECTOR IT SEEM TO BE FOG UP OR THE REFLECTOR IS NO GOOD . THIS IS A HAZARD I CAN NOT SEE NOT EVEN A FOOT A WAY FROM INSIDE CAR. IT SEEM LIKE I'M DRIVING WITH OUT LIGHT. IS A VERY SPENCIVE FIX.
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that there was water inside the headlamp housing. While driving at night, the headlights failed to produce adequate lighting; the hi-beam headlights was needed for safe nighttime driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THEN IT WOULD GO OFF, ON AGAIN, OFF AGAIN. THE CODE WAS P000017. THEY SAID THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE FIXED. THIS CAUSED A RECALL IN THE 2004-2009 SRXS AND YET I SEE THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME THING FOR THE 2010S AND NO RECALL. THERE ARE ONLY 113K MILES ON THIS CAR, THAT'S ABOUT 13K PER YEAR, MAINLY HIGHWAY MILES. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. CADILLAC DEALER WANTED TO CHARGE ME $3800 WHEN WITHOUT THIS ISSUE, THE CAR IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $4500. I TRULY THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AS IT SEEMS AROUND THIS MILEAGE, THIS ISSUE HAPPENS BASED ON RESEARCH THAT I DID.
WARNING LIGHT FOR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT DRIVER SIDE CAME ON WHEN I STARTED MY CAR. UPON CHECKING THE HEADLIGHT I SAW THE HEADLIGHT WAS OUT AND THERE WAS WATER ACCUMULATED ON THE LENS COVER. I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT THIS A VERY FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR AND THAT BOTH LENSES HAD WATER ACCUMULATION. I HAD TO REPLACE THE BULB, BALLAST, AND FIRING MECHANISM IN ORDER TO GET THE HEADLIGHT TO WORK, BUT THE ERROR MESSAGE IS STILL ON DASH. WHEN I CALLED CADILLAC, THEY TOLD ME THERE WERE NO OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND I WAS THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING DESPITE THE CADILLAC SRX DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHT CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS CHESTER STEELE V. GENERAL MOTORS, LLC CASE NO.2:17-04323, IN THE U.S. DISTRICT COURT FOR THE CENTRAL DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA. THE CAR IS ALWAYS GARAGED AT NIGHT - FOGGING OCCURS EVEN IF IT HAS NOT BEEN RAINING.
TOOK VEHICLE INTO GM CHEVY DEALER TODAY FOR TIRE ROTATION AND OIL/FILTER CHANGE. NO OTHER ISSUES. DOVE VEHICLE HOME AND NOTICED TWO LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD; ABS AND STABILITRAK. ALSO MESSAGE ON DIC INDICATING TO SERVICE ABS. NO ISSUES BEFORE DEALER SERVICE.
I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR FRIDAY ,FIRST I HAD A PROBLEM WITH WATER IN THE HEAD LIGHTS I CORRECTED THAT MY SELF ,NOW THE HEADLIGHTS ON DIM IS SO DIM IT'S DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT ,AT TIMES YOU CAN'T SEE THE WHITE STRIP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I'M 69 YEARS OLD IT MAKES DRIVING AT NIGHT VERY DIFFICULT ,PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT THANK YOU [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).' *PM
