THE CAR TAKES A UNEXPECTED HESITATION DURING ACCELERATION ON ROAD OR HIGHWAY AT ANY GIVEN TIME WHICH IS VERY SCARY
STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER HAPPENED AT A STOP LIGHT. VEHICLE WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC APPROACHING TRAFFIC LIGHT ON HIGHWAY EXIT RAMP. CAR THROTTLE BODY ISSUES ALREADY NOTED FOR OTHER CADILLAC SRX MODELS OF SAME YEAR BUT GM SAID OUR VIN WAS NOT COVERED. IT IS THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM LISTED IN THE GM SERICE BULLITIN # 14582A FROM OCTOBER 2015.
THIS WINTER IT WAS FREEZING, MY 2011 SRX CADILLAC DISPLAYED A "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" MESSAGE, AND I COULDN'T GO OVER ABOUT 5 MILES PER HOUR. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE CAR. AFTER A SHORT TIME, I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND HAD POWER BACK. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CADILLAC DEALERSHIP WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THEY SAID IT WAS MY THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. THE COST CAME TO $603. I WAS THE SECOND CAR OUT OF FOUR WITHIN A ONE WEEK TIME FRAME THAT HAD TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. CADILLAC DID A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM ON ITS OTHER VEHICLES BUT NOT THE SRX.
ON HIGHWAY GOING 75MPH SUDDENLY REDUCED POWER MODE & SERVICE STABILLITRAK MESSAGES. CAR IMMEDIATELY DOWNSHIFTED TO 45MPH WHICH COULD'VE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. TSB 14582A ' THROTTLE BODY ' REDUCED POWER MODE WHICH STATES 'THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE COVERS THE CONDITION DESCRIBED ABOVE FOR A PERIOD OF 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES (193,000 KM), WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST, FROM THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF OWNERSHIP' EXISTS, YET MY DEALER WILL NOT HONOR THE EXTENSION ON THE WARRANTY BECAUSE MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE TSB.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY DECELERATED TO 20 MPH. THE VEHICLE STABILITY ENGINE AND ENGINE POWER REDUCE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE ISSUE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TURNED ON AND OFF TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,892. EXPERIENCED SEVERAL INSTANCES OF VEHICLE BEING VERY HESITANT TO ACCELERATE WHICH IS DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO ENTER INTERSTATE TRAFFIC. BEING TOLD THAT THIS IS JUST A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE TYPE OF ENGINE IS NOT A GOOD OR PROFESSIONAL RESPONSE. NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CADILLAC. *TR
SOMETIMES WHEN ACCELERATING IT BOGS DOWN. DANGEROUS WHEN YOU NEED PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 5 TIMES. THEY CHECKED CODES. NEVER COULD GET IT TO REPEAT AT DEALERSHIPS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH AND AS THE ACCELERATOR WAS APPLIED, THERE WAS A SUDDEN REDUCTION IN SPEED BETWEEN 5 TO 10 MPH. THE VEHICLE THEN BEGAN TO LUNGE FORWARD VIOLENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX DIFFERENT TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING FURTHER INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
