JUST INFORMED BY MY DEALERSHIP WHILE WORKING ON RECALL , THAT MY HEADLIGHTS ARE DEFECTIVE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 2400.00. IF NOT DONE MY CAR WILL NOT PAST INSPECTION DUE FEB 2022
We have had an ongoing problem with our headlights dimming and getting worse and worse. The dealers tell us there's nothing they can do to test the headlight. They can sure tell if they drive it at night. It's so unsafe to drive at night that when we do we must use our high beams and in doing so, oncoming traffic flash their lights at us. It's so bad, I am afraid to drive and night and now won't and will only allow my husband too. This headlight issue has been an ongoing problem with Cadillac where they issued a recall, but for some reason didn't include the 2016 models in that recall. A case advisor offered us $500 towards the $2,000 repair and stated if there ever is a recall they would refund us what we paid. This is unacceptable. They know there's a problem and they don't take responsibility.
The low beam lights on our 2016 Cadillac SRX are extremely dim and very dangerous to drive at night. This is a know issue and there have been numerous class action Law suits regarding the issue. P.lease help to make my wife's commute to work safer Thanks
At night, headlights do not come on. Only daytime running lights come on. You cannot see properly without headlights.
After purchasing our 2016 Cadillac SRX we began to notice the head lites were becoming dimmer over time and now to a point that we are unable to drive at nite and need to put high beams on if subjected to nite driving .This creates a blinding hazard for oncoming vehicles. After several attempts of replacing bulbs to improve condition of lites I began to investigate and found that there is a recall for other year models of Cadillac SRX but 2016 is not included. This issue is widespread and undoubtedly will cause accidents and possibly death to motorist. Cadilac is aware of this issue and has yet to recall these vehicles to repair obvious and known issues.
Headlights are too dim. Known issue in this car.
2016 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A SAFETY FLAW WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT SYSTEM. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO HAVE THE HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY REPLACED. *JS
HEADLIGHTS: It is available for inspection upon request. There have been no accident so far, however you cannot drive at night due to low beam of headlights are so very dim that it is an absolute hazard to be out on the road and deal with oncoming vehicles because you cant see. When asking a dealer representative about my headlight issue, he stated it would cost around $1500, as these were very expensive headlights and would take several days to get them in. Another person told me it would only last a few days, if replaced and then the same issue would occur. It seemed to be dimming all of a sudden, happened on the way home from church 1 month ago, as my husband and I were returning home. They both are still very dim and I think for the price we paid for our New Vehicle in 2017, we should not be having this conversation. Cadillac dealership told us it would cost $1500 for headlights. No warning lamps or messages occurred.
These headlights have turn so dim its dangerous to drive at night. Its the lens inside that s deteriorating and nothing to do with the bulb. The dealer wants around 1500 to replace. This is a common problem with this vehicle. Cadillac offered only 50% of the repair but when i took it back to the dealer for service I got the run around again even though I had a reference number. Many people will not spend this large amount and it should be recalled. At night I must use the high beams to be safe but that annoys and is not safe to other drivers.

Additionally, the contact stated that the tires had become damaged prematurely. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
I was driving in the rain with the front windshield wipers on and when I attempted to adjust the speed with the lever on the steering wheel column the front wipers stopped working roughly 1/2 the way up on the windshield. It was raining, and I was not able to see the road in front of me. I managed to pull into a retail parking lot and waited for the rain to subside before continuing to drive the vehicle. The wipers do not work even after restarting the vehicle multiple times. I checked the fuse that that is not the problem. I have an appointment to get the wipers checked out and repaired at a GM dealership in 3 days (earliest appointment). There were no warnings or other indicators of a problem with the wipers.
the low beam headlights are dangerously defeative on all srx models. something needs to be done before more people die in crashes at night with these vehicals
Headlights The normal beam headlights are extremely dim, unable to operate the vehicle on the roadway at night. I had the bulbs replaced at an expense of $300 for parts and labor, which did not rectify the issue. The beams remain extremely dim, which is due to the faulty headlight assembly. GM has never acknowledge this issue after 1000's of complaints. GM did refund some owners of SRX 2010-2015 models for replacing the headlight assemblies, but failed to provide any resolution for owners of the 2016 - present models. If the vehicle must be operated at night, the only way to safety proceed is with the high beams, which doesn't provide for a safe environment for the other vehicles on the roadway. This must be addressed by GM, as people are risking their lives and the lives of others on the roadway. There were no prior warnings or indications of headlight failure. I first noticed this issue in 2021 and have been attempting to resolve it with GM since. GM comes across as it is not their problem and that I should get my headlights replaced at my own expense. What they don't understand is the replacement will be the same faulty make/model of the headlight assemblies I have today.
On Sept 26 2021 I was driving my car when I noticed it began jumpy and would hesitate at high speeds then when coming to a stop. After coming to a stop my car seemed it was stalling out while sitting at the stop light. Proceeded to go and my car didn't want to go into 1st-3rd gears. I just got this car 5 months ago It is very concerning when I need to make a sudden acceleration and cannot. I am highly concerned my car has a recall that never was issued to fix this dangerous problem.
2016 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BROKEN SUSPENSION TOE LINK. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK FAILED CAUSING THE DRIVER TO CROSSOVER SIDEWAYS INTO THE MEDIAN. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE TOWING AND REPAIRS AFTER BEING NOTIFIED OF A SAFETY RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE.
Purchased a 2016 Cadillac SRX a few years ago as a used car. Noticed that the headlights were extremely dim. Brought it to a Cadillac dealership and asked them to investigate it. They mentioned that they had thought there was a recall at some point regarding the lights for these cars, but it may have expired. I checked with General Motors, and they did not find a recall for these headlights for the specific vehicle make/model. The dealership told me that I could have the lights replaced, but it would cost around $200 per light. Driving this vehicle at night poses a risk and a safety hazard for me as the driver, as I cannot see the road as well as I should be able to. I often have to drive with my bright lights on to see properly. This is a real concern of mine and wanted to ask if there is anything that your organization can do to assist me with the issue. Thank you.
Headlights are very dim and I cannot see at night. Cadillac refused to provide financial assistance.
My vehicle is only 5 years old and the Cadillac Cue Screen has failed. After reading online that it has almost 100% failure rate, it is not part a recall. It is not just the SRX, it is all models of Cadillac and yet GM has done nothing to solve the issue with the replacement screens. After two failed lawsuits against GM, why is the government not stepping in and protecting the consumer for this failed part. $1500.00 for a replacement with only a two year warranty, says that they anticipate it to fail again.
headlamps are very dim unable to see clearly at night and when raining
I am concerned with the lack of visibility that my low-beams provide. I live in a semi-rural area, where the streets are not well-lit, there are no curbs, and people walk along the edge of the street after dark. I contacted both Cadillac AND my dealer, and they both told me that it’s possible that the deal has eroded and caused dimming. I was told there was a class action suit that addressed this issue, but it expired before I purchased my car, and I was NOT made aware of it. I believe that Cadillac and Flow Cadillac of Greensboro are responsible, and I would like this remedied as soon as possible. I’m 66 years old, limited income, are am paying dearly for a car that I’m scared to drive at night. I did not realize this last fall/winter, as my nephew was borrowing my car, while his was in the shop (I drove my friends Lexus for the winter). Prior to owning this 2016 SRX, I had a 2007 Buick Rendezvous, with MUCH BETTER VISIBILITY AT NIGHT, and have a difficult time believing the the technology has regressed and Cadillac will not stand behind their product. Please help me. I don’t know what to do. They told me to replace the headlight system would be about $3400.
The headlights are very dim causing safety driving issues at night. I first noticed driving at night returning from a trip to Arkansas driving on poorly lit highways

Extremely dim low beam headlights. I can’t see to drive it at night on the low beams. The high beams still work, but blind oncoming traffic. This puts me and other drivers at risk. It is available for inspection. This issue started 6 months ago. This seems to be a serious problem with several years of this make and model.

The headlights are very dim. i cannot see at night without using my bright lights. This a safety issues because I cannot see and other cars cannot see me. On 12-28-21 I took the car to Jim Hudson dealership. The diagnose was both headlights are very dim. Reflective silver coating within headlamp assemblies has faded. Will require 2 new assemblies. This is my second 2016 SRX and I had the exact same problem with the headlights. I believe this is a manufacturer issue.
Went to work came out and my radio screen was shattered. I called local dealer and they said this was common for radio screens. Why hadn't things been change so screens don't shatter when no one is around??? This car is only 4 years old.
The headlights are not bright enough they've never been bright enough it's almost like you don't have any headlights at night time if it's dark out. I even change them out once and it's like there wasn't enough power to them to make them bright. I have not very good Vision at night and I can't even really drive the car at night unless it's in the city. A couple of people I have told me they had the same problem with the headlights and even the guy at the auto place told me that his wife had the same car and he changed her headlights and it was still bad so he changed them back and that's exactly what I did. Hardly usable at all at night I wish there was something they could do or find out if there is a flaw in the design because everyone I've talked to that has this year and type of car says the same exact thing and no one has given me any resolution on what they did they just lived with it. I love the car 100% in every other way but the headlights are a incredible Factor for night driving and since I do live somewhat in the country I always have to take the other vehicle at night time.
Regular headlights are too dim to be seen at night and it’s verry dangerous to drive at night even after replaceing the a brighter light also happends on Cadillac ats from 2018
HEADLIGHTS WHEN ON DIM DO NOT LIGHT UP THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT UNLESS YOU DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON WHICH OF COURSE INFURIATES ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IF YOU LOOK ON THE INTERNET, YOU WILL FIND THAT MOST CADILLAC SRX FROM 2010 THROUGH 2016 HAVE THIS PROBLEM, YET NO RECALL. WHY?
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that the headlights failed to properly illuminate the roadway while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the fog covering the headlights could not be removed and that the vehicle was not covered under recall. The dealer informed the contact that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
4 Mar 2021 passenger side front wheel bearing failed while returning home from anniversary trip with 37,733 miles on our SRX. Dealer stated that SRX was out of warranty due to time after purchase. 5 July 2021 passenger side rear wheel bearing failed while returning home from family trip with 40,003 miles on our SRX. Called Cadillac Customer Care and received a case number. Immediately received an email stating that she was my customer advocate and would get back to me within 3 working days (email is attached). NO ONE has ever contacted me. I have contacted CCC on four different occasions with a promise every time that someone would get back to me within 48-72 hours. NO RESPONSE. I have not been discourteous to any of the Customer Care personnel and therefore, have no idea of why they do not respond to me, even if it was a DENIAL. I get the impression that this problem may be greater than they want to acknowledge and they are hoping that I will just go away. I will not, this is more about principal at this point than money. Can you provide me guidance on what to do next, or can you assist in obtaining a response to my case?
MY HEAD LIGHTS DON'T WORK GOOD AT ALL AND I HAVE GOT STOPPED BY POLICE SEVERAL TIMES AN GOT A TICKET FOR BRIGHT LIGHTING AND STOPPED FOR DRIVING WITH NO LIGHTS ON WHEN I HAD DEM ON BUT THE POLICE COULDN'T EVEN TELL I HAD ANY ON AND I HAVE CALLED CADILLAC ON MANY OCCASIONS AND ALL THEY SAY IS THEY CAN'T FIX THEM UNDER A RECALL THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY 3000 TO $3500 TO HAVE THEM FIXED, SAID THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY NOT JUST LIGHTS AND I THINK THIS IS VERY MUCH A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN I CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT WITH LIGHTS ON DIM AND I AM TIRED OF GETTING TICKETS FOR THE LIGHTS BEING ON BRIGHT SND WHEN YOU PAY OVER $45 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A VEHICLE YOU WOULD THINK CADILLAC WOULD FIX IT AND IT WOULD BE THERE RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR IT
GRADUAL DIMMING OF HEADLIGHT LOW BEAMS OVER TIME, MAKING THEM COMPLETELY USELESS & UNSAFE AT NIGHT. MUST DRIVE USING HIGH BEAMS AT ALL TIMES. SAFETY HAZARD. (SAME ISSUE AS GM 2010-15 MODEL LITIGATION). REQUIRED TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY $2200. CONTACTED GM, WHO CONFIRMED THERE IS NOT YET A RECALL OR LAWSUIT TO REIMBURSE FOR 2016 OR LATER MODEL REPAIRS FOR THE SAME KNOWN HEADLIGHT FAILURE AS EARLIER MODELS.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE FRONT END COLLISION. I WAS IN MOTION TRAVELING AT A FAIRLY HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE. I REAR ENDED A TRUCK AFTER SOMEONE STOPPED SUDDENLY IN FRONT OF THE TRUCH. NONE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. I FLEW INTO THE DASHBOARD AND STEERING WHEEL AND SINCE THERE WERE NO AIRBAGS HIT MY ARMS, CHEST, AND KNEE. I AM SEVERELY BRUISED AND MY ARM AND WRIST MAY HAVE DAMAGE.
STANDARD HEADLIGHTS NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO SEE AT NIGHT. NEED TO USE HIGH BEAMS
The headlights are extremely dim cannot drive the vehicle at night. If I do use at night I have to use the high beams. Seems to be a know problem with Cadillac SRX. I was told by dealer they would have to replace both headlight assemblies to fix this problem at a cost of over 2000 dollars.
THE LOW BEAMS ON MY 2016 CADILLAC ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND UNSAFE FOR NIGHT DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. IT IS A LUXURY MODEL WITH NO FOG LIGHTS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE THE CORRECTED BY GM/CADILLAC AND NOT THE OWNER. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND IS CAUSING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH MANY SRX OWNERS. PREVIOUS YEARS ARE COVERED BY A RECALL, FOR SOME REASON THIS IS NOT.
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at night, the headlights were very dim. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
THERE HAS BEEN A GRADUAL DIMMING OF THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT AT TIMES THEY ARE OF NO VALUE. THIS HAS CREATED A SERIOUS SITUATION, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT IN THE RAIN. IT CREATES CRITICAL PERIODS WHEN I MUST USE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS IN TRAFFIC JUST TO SEE THE ROADWAY. THIS APPEARS TO BE A CONTIUING ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AS I HAVE READ ABOUT SIMILAR DEFECTS AND POSSIBLE REMEIDIES.
MY CAR IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM.
I bought this car in 2020 and my first night of being out at night I COULD NOT SEE 2 feet in front of me. I was darn near ran off the road. Supposed all recalls were done on my car--NOT!!!!!!This is serious stuff and I'm seeing on a Cadillac forum all the outcries and the extreme costs people are paying. PLEASE PLEASE Do something-ALSO BE SURE SO CALLED RECALLS ARE DONE!!!!
THERE HAS BEEN A GRADUAL DECREASE IN THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE LOW BEAMS ON THIS VEHICLE. MY WIFE IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER OF IT AND DOESN'T DRIVE IT TOO MUCH AT NIGHT, BUT I WAS DRIVING IT RECENTLY AND NOTICED HOW POOR THE LIGHTING IS AT NIGHT, IN PARTICULAR ON WET ROADS. IT IS TO THE POINT THAT VISIBILITY IS NOT THAT FAR IN FRONT. IF A PERSON OR ANIMAL WAS ON THE ROAD, IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE SEEN UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS ALMOST UPON IT. HIGH BEAMS ARE NOT A PROBLEM. THERE IS NO PARTICULAR MOMENT THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED - IT'S BEEN OVER TIME. FROM INTERNET RESEARCH, THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH SRX'S.
