TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC XTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TOUCH PAD ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FITZGERALD CADILLAC ANNAPOLIS (34 HUDSON ST, ANNAPOLIS, MD 21401, (301) 261-8246) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TOUCH SCREEN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000. *TT*JB
REAR SUSPENSION COMPLETELY LOWERED TO THE GROUND WHILE RUNNING. DEALERSHIP STARTED THIS WAS DUE TO A BURNT LEVELING SYSTEM. AT THE SAME TIME, THE CUE SYSTEM DISCONNECTED TO WORK AS IT SHOULD. VEHICLE HAS 68K MILES. AFTER FIXED, NOW THE GETS STUCK IN THE UP POSITION OFTEN. DEALER THEN REPLACE THE FRONT STRUT SINCE THEY CLAIMED THIS WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE. VEHICLE STILL WITH THE SAME ISSUES EVENT AFTER SEVERAL VISITS TO THE DEALER TO RE-LEVEL THE VEHICLE.
BATTERY ISSUES. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY STATED VEHICLE NEEDED NEW BATTERY SINCE I DONT DRIVE IT LONG DISTANCE. BATTERY REPLACED AT NO CHARGE. 6 MONTHS LATER SAME ISSUE. CAR WONT START BATTERY DEAD. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER WHO STATED THAT SINCE I ONLY DRIVE IT ABOUT 10 MILES A DAY THE VEHICLE DRAINS THE BATTERY BECAUSE OF ALL THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. THIS IS A ISSUE I BELIEVE CADILLAC IS AWATE OF AND NNEDS TO FIX. OR WHEN SELLING THE VEHICLE SHOULD OF TOLD ME IF I DONT DRIVE LONG DISTANCE THEN I SHOULD BE THE CAR OR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WONT WORK. MY OTHER ISSUE IS THAT ONCE THE CAR IS OFF IF SOMETHING IS DRAININGBTHE BATTERY IT CAN CAUSE A FIRE.
RADIO, NAVIGATION, CD, ANY MEDIA CONNECTION: CANNOT ACCESS ANYTHING EXCEPT THE 5 SAVED STATIONS CAN BE ACCESSED BY THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. POWER WINDOWS: ON TWO OCCASIONS WE FOUND ALL FOUR WINDOWS DOWN AND THE CAR WAS LOCKED. FIRST TIME, WHEN WE RETURNED TO OUR VEHICLE IN A WALMART PARKING LOT. SECOND TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND LOCKED IN OUR CARPORT.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HWY, MY REAR SUSPENSION LOST ALL AIR AND DROPPED FULLY CAUSING A VERY BUMPY RIDE AND UNSAFE HANDLING. VEHICLE SHOWED A LEVELING FAULT ON THE DASH. LATER THAT DAY IT WAS WORKING NORMALLY AGAIN. WHILE IT IS UNKOWN WHAT CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN I BELIEVE THE AIR COMPRESSOR THAT INFLATES THE REAR SUSPENSION FAILED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC XTS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED AND CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO SEIZE. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION. AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING. HAPPENED TWICE AND TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER. SERVICE DEPT TOLD THE CONSUMER THE ENGINE WAS CRACKED CAUSING ENGINE TO MISFIRE CAUSING STEERING TO LOCK UP. CONSUMER TOOK IT TO THE PUTMAN CHEVROLET CADILLAC WAS RUNNING WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. THEY REPLACED A CRACKED BOOT THAT RAN FROM THE AIR FILTER HOUSING TO THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS RESULTED IN THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINING OFF AFTER THEY CLEARED THE CODE AND THE STALLING PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED.*JB
ABS, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COME ON WHEN DRIVING. FRONT CAMERA ERROR, SIDE DETECTION OFF COMES ON SEEMS TO REALLY BE AFFECTED BY COLD TEMPS. GLASS OVER CONTROL STATION ALSO HAS HAIRLINE CRACKS ALL THE WAY AROUND THAT OCCURRED DURING OR -DEGREE WEATHER THIS WINTER UNSURE OF DATE
RADIO TOUCH SCREEN NOT WORKING,(NAVIGATION, CLOCK, HARD TO GET RADIO TO WORK, CAN'T GET TO NAVIGATION, CAN'T SET CLOCK, OR USE EITHER ICON ON TOUCH SCREEN)
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE OCTOBER 20TH 2017 AND WITHIN 2 WEEKS THE SERVICE DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO DEALER WAS TOLD WAS OLD CODE AND ERASED A FEW DAYS LATER SAME MESSAGE CAME ON WAS TOLD DASH WAS CLEARED AND GM CASE FILED. A FEW DAYS LATER LIGHT CAME ON FOR 3RD TIME. DEALER TOYED US AROUND ABOUT FIXING IT BUT FINALLY SUPPOSEDLY DID WITH NEW SENSORS IN SEAT. SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN HAVING MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH MY ABS SYSTEM AND KEY FOB. KEY FOB BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD ABS SENSOR WAS SUPPOSEDLY BROKE AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRENTEE AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX THE ISSUE FOR ME. I AM VERY AFFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IT SITS PARKED IN MY YARD AND I PAID OVER 20K FOR IT. I FEEL I HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BECAUSE I HAVE A DISABILITY WITH MY SPEECH. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION ABOUT KEY FOB AND ABS I CAN SEND IF NEEDED. THE CAR WAS DRIVING WHEN THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON WENT OFF AND TRACTION CONTROL CAME ON THEN OFF THEN BACK ON. THE KEY FOB WOULDNT WORK WHEN TRYING TO TURN CAR OFF BECAUSE IT HAS PUSH BUTTON THE FOB CONTROLLS STARTING IT AND TURNING IT OFF.
CODE; 6001 CPA CUE SCREEN DOES NOT RESPOND TO TOUCH. I TOOK A LOOK ON SOCIAL MEDIA, AND THIS TURNS OUT TO BE A VERY COMMON OCCURANCE WITH THE CADILLAC! I FEEL GENERAL MOTORS KNEW ABOUT THIS MALFUNCTION AND A RECALL NEEDS TO OCCUR ASAP. ALSO THE CUSTOMERS THAT PAID TO HAVE ISSUE FIXED,SHOULD BE REIMBURSED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! ISSUE HAPPENED WHILE VEHICLE WAS MOVING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC XTS WITH VOGUE CUSTOM BUILT TIRES, SIZE: 245/40/20 (NA). WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS CUT. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE OTHER TIRES AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRES ALSO HAD CUTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRACTION APPEARED TO BE SEPARATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT TIRE SHOP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SIDEWALLS WERE SEPARATING AND ALL FOUR TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING NEW TIRES TO BE DELIVERED TO THE TIRE SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT THE ORIGINAL TIRES. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER FROM WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED (VANDERGRIFF CHEVROLET, 1200 W INTERSTATE 20, ARLINGTON, TX 76017 (682) 323-2486) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ORIGINAL OWNER INSTALLED THE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE WHEN THE VEHICLE MILEAGE WAS 20. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING AT INTERSTATE SPEED -( 70 MPH) ABOUT 4 PM WHEN A LOUD EXPLOSION OCCURRED IN THE REAR PART OF THE CAR. IT CAUSED THE CAR TO SWERVE AND DROP ABOUT 6 INCHES. I ALMOST HITTING AN 18 WHEELER AND THERE WAS ANOTHER 18 WHEELER BEHIND ME. OTHER CARS AROUND ME STARTED TO BLOW THEIR HORNS IN ALARM. I CAREFULLY SLOWED THE CAR WHILE, PUTTING ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS, AND MOVED TO THE RIGHT LANE ATTEMPTING TO FIND AN EMERGENCY PARKING PLACE. I FELT I NEEDED TO ASSESS THE DAMAGES. THERE WAS NO PLACE TO STOP! I WAS FORCED TO DRIVE @ A MILE TO AN EXIT RAMP WHERE I COULD SAFELY STOP AND CALL THE CADILLAC SERVICE DEPT. THE SERVICE TECH RECOMMENDED I DRIVE IT TO THE NEAREST DEALER (AUSTIN TX - 35 MILES AWAY) OR LIMP 60 MILES TO SAN ANTONIO WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND HAVE IT SERVICED). MY WIFE IS NOT WELL AND I SELECTED SAN ANTONIO FOR MEDICAL REASONS. THE DASH WARNING INDICATOR STATED, "LEVELING DEVICE SERVICE NEEDED." SAN ANTONIO'S CADILLAC SERVICE MGR.STATED TWO PROBLEMS NEEDED REPAIRING: 1) BOTH AIR BLATHERS EXPLODED AND 2) THE LEVELING AIR COMPRESSOR NEEDED REPLACING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS CAR WAS SEEN BY THIS DEALERSHIP FOR LEVELING PROBLEMS. THIS WAS A VERY SERIOUS EXPERIENCE FOR ME, A COMBAT VETERAN AND SENIOR CITIZENS NEAR AGE 80 . MY WIFE AND I COULD HAVE CAUSED A VERY BAD ACCIDENT IN THE MIDDLE OF HEAVY COMMUTER TRAFFIC ON I-35 IN AUSTIN TX IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN AUTO DRIVING ACCIDENT IN MY LIFE. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS FREIGHTING AND I AM RELIVING THE DRAMA OF HOW BAD IT COULD HAVE BEEN FOR THE TWO OF US. I NO LONGER TRUST THE CAR AND FEEL I MAY BE FORCED TO TRADE EARLY EVEN THOUGH I JUST PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 85K OR JULY 2020 WHICH EVER OCCURS FIRST.. SUNROOF SEAL HAS DETACHED FROM PRESS FITTING WITH SUNROOF AND LEAKS WATER WHILE DRIVING DURING RAIN. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THIS ISSUE CREATES EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE IN THE CABIN.
THE SUSPENSION IS HORRIBLE - EVERY LITTLE BUMP IN THE ROAD THE CAR MAKES A LOAD NOISE - LIKE THE SUSPENSION IS GONE. THIS IS A 2013 AND THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING. I HAVE A 2008 CTS AND NEVER HAD A SUSPENSION ISSUE AND THAT CAR HAVE OVER 160,000 MILES. THIS SEEMS LIKE A DEFECT BECAUSE I WAS READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN MAY 2016 AND IT IS GETTING WORSE. I CAN'T BE A SPECIFIC DATE BUT THE PROBLEM IS ONGOING. I DON'T THINK THE CONSUMER HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET THIS FIX.
INTERMITTENTLY MY ELECTRONIC PANEL WILL SHUT DOWN AND NO ELECTRONIC FUNCTIONS WILL OPERATE. TYPICALLY THEY WILL RETURN POWER IN ABOUT AN HOUR OR LESS. THERE HAS BEEN A TIME IN THE LAST 15 DAYS THAT THE POWER DID NOT RETURN AND I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. TURNS OUT THAT RESULTED IN A FUSE REPLACEMENT FOR $125. THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS WILL RANDOMLY COME ON AND THE DEALER WOULD NOT COVER IT UNTIL I CALLED GM HEADQUARTERS AND THEY GOT THE DEALER TO COVER IT UNDER A NOTICE ISSUED FOR THE VEHICLES OF MY TYPE BUT NOT MY VIN NUMBER. MY BRAKES SQUEAK FREQUENTLY BUT THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT IS NORMAL BUT WILL NOT TELL ME IF THE RECALL HAD BEEN FIXED FOR THAT ITEM. MY BRAKE LIGHTS AND FLASHERS WILL COME ON WHEN I AM DRIVING, STARTING THE CAR OR PARK THE CARE AND LEAVE IT FOR SOME TIME. THIS HAPPENS LIKE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTDOWN, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, IN ALL SEASONS, DURING ALL TIMES OF THE DAY OR NIGHT, AFTER EXTENDED OR SHORT DURATION TRIPS. THERE IS NOTING I HAVE FOUND TO HELP ME PREDICT THE OCCURRENCES AND LATELY I DON'T DRIVE IT FOR FEAR OF BEING STRANDED UNLESS I AM ALONE. SINCE THE DEALER CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO REPAIR IT AND WANT ME TO PAY $600 TO HAVE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE REPLACED IN HOPES THAT WILL CLEAR UP THE PROBLEMS.
WHILE DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH SUNROOF GLASS SUDDENLY EXPLODED OUT OF NOWHERE, GLASS SHATTERED AND SPREAD ALL THROUGHOUT MY CAR DROPPING ONTO MYSELF MY WIFE AND MY CHILDREN. THERE WAS A LOUD BOOM FROM THE GLASS SHATTERING WHICH WAS VERY STARTLING WHILE DRIVING. MAJOR CONCERN IS THAT THERE COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT FROM LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE WEATHER WAS CLOUDY AND TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 60 DEGREES. NO DEBRIS PRESENT, THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR TO THE SIDE OF ME. I WAS NOT GOING UNDER AN UNDERPASS. FROM THE STARTLING NOISE THERE COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED ME OR MY FAMILY HARM OR DEATH. I BELIEVE THESE SUNROOFS NEED ANOTHER LOOK.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED IN 2/2017, GREAT CAR, UNTIL IT STARTS ACTING UP, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SPEED OR DISTANCE YOU ARE GOING, ALL THE LIGHTS START FLASHING AND LOSES SPEED TILL IT COMPLETELY STOPS AND WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. YOU UNPLUG THE BATTERY AND TAKE ALL THE FUSES OUT, PLUG BATTERY BACK IN AND INSERT ALL FUSES AND IT WILL RESTART. IT WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED ANYWHERE, AFTER A WEEK OF PURCHASE, TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP, THEY SUPPOSEDLY WORKED ON IT, ONLY HAD 30 DAYS OF WARRANTY, A FEW MONTHS LATER STARTED AGAIN AND WILL RANDOMLY DO IT. IT IS NOT A RELIABLE CAR AND DANGEROUS, I HAVE DROVE IT HERE IN CITY LIMITS ONLY, I DO NOT TRUST IT TO LEAVE TOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC XTS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN ON ITS OWN AND THE TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ARMEN CADILLAC IN PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA, 610-272-5545, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE BATTERY CONTROL MODULE. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR MONTHS LATER AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REMINDED THE TECHNICIAN THAT THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED FOUR MONTHS AGO. THE TECHNICIAN INSISTED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED AS SOON AS THE CONTACT DROVE BACK HOME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD BE FOLLOWED-UP WITH BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.
FRONT PASSENGER SIDE STRUT IS FROZEN, VERY HORRIBLE RIDE AND WHENEVER I RUN OVER THE SLIGHTEST BUMP IN THE ROAD, IT SOUNDS LIKE THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE CAR IS GOING TO FALL OUT. DEALER SAID IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTEE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC XTS. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ABNORMAL ODOR AND OBSERVED SMOKE COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT WAS ALERTED BY ANOTHER DRIVER THAT THERE WERE FLAMES UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL DUE TO SMOKE INHALATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,000.

DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE PLACE WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE ANCHORS IN THE FRAME OF THE CAR. CAR WAS PARKED AND NOT IN MOTION. I WENT TO BUCKLE MY SEAT BELT, AND IT FELL APART. NO KNOWN RECALL FOR THIS ITEM. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. CONCERNED FOR OTHER XTS OWNERS' SAFETY. DEALER IS REPLACING SEAT BELT (AFTER A $100 DEDUCTIBLE).
CAR LOST ENGINE POWER, POWER STEERING, POWER BREAKS AND ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTION EXCEPT FOR HAZARD LIGHTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 7 TIMES AND I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR TWO REPAIRS. I HAVE TO CRUISE TO A STOP AND RESTART THE VEHICLE.
CADILLAC XTS LIMOUSINE WITH 2,800 MILES. WHEN DRIVING A KNOCKING NOISE CAN BE HEARD COMING FROM SOMEWHERE IN FRONT END. THE NOISE IS MORE NOTICEABLE MAKING TURNS, HITTING THE SMALLEST BUMPS IN THE ROAD, AND VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN EASING OVER A TRAIN TRACK AT 2MPH.
I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET GOING 40 MPH AND THE REAR SUSPENSION DROPPED WITHOUT WARNING RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
REAR SUSPENSION FAILED DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY AT APPROX 60 MPH. REAR END OF VEHICLE WAS LOWERED TO THE POINT WHERE THE TIRE WAS RUBBING ON UNDERCARRIAGE. CAR WAS VERY UNSTABLE AND BOUNCING UP AND DOWN VIOLENTLY. MESSAGE ON DASHBOARD STATED "SERVICE LEVELING SYSTEM". COULD NOT TOW THE CAR REAR WAS TOO LOW TO THE GROUND.
REAR END OF THE CAR DROPPED TO THE GROUND WHILE DRIVING ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. MECHANIC SAID THE REAR AIR COMPRESSOR FAILED, AND ONE OF THE AIRBAGS BURST. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED, IT WAS NOT DRIVE ABLE.
WHEN THE CAR IS ON IDLE EITHER IN PARK OR DRIVE, WITH THE BARAKE ON THE ENGINE VIBRATES. THIS OCCURRED WITH THE AC OFF. I HAVE 32K MILES AND I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER IN VENICE FL AND THE SERVICE REP DIDNT EVEN ALLOW IT TO GO TO THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN. MY 2013 XTS WITH 23,000 MILES JUST STOPPED. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE SOME VENT SCREEN HAD A TEAR IN IT. THE AIR BLEW ON THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A 3 LANE ROAD. EVERYONE PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS THERE WAS NO WARNING IT JUST SHUTTLE DOWN.

THE EXPERIENCE WITH ARMEN WAS, WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE WORST CAR EXPERIENCE IN MY 40+ YEARS OF DRIVING. FIRST OFF, MY 2013 XTS PLATINUM HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT IT. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT A YEAR I HAD A SEVERE SHIMMY AND VIBRATION IN THE WHEELS THAT SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME. TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD ALL 4 WHEELS WERE DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, TED ROBINSON WENT TO BAT FOR ME AND GOT THEM REPLACED ($3400) BY CADILLAC. FLASH FORWARD ANOTHER YEAR, SEVERE SHIMMY SAME ISSUE-4 MORE BAD WHEELS. I WAS TOLD THAT POTHOLES WERE BAD THIS YEAR. IN 40 YEARS OF DRIVING I'VE NEVER DAMAGED A SINGLE WHEEL IN MY LIFE. TED WAS ABLE TO GET CADILLAC TO COVER HALF THE COST OF THE WHEELS WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE. I THEN CALLED THE OWNER WHO CALLED ME BACK 3 DAYS LATER AND TELLS ME THAT'S ALL THEY CAN DO AND DEMANDS THE LOANER CAR BACK IMMEDIATELY. RECALL NOW THAT MY CAR ISN'T FINISHED AND THEY ARE STILL DEMANDING THE CAR BACK. ARMEN BECAME AGGRESSIVE WITH ME ON THE PHONE AND I HUNG UP. JUST BEFORE I DID HE SAID THEY WOULD COME TO ME AND GET THE CAR. AT THIS POINT I FELT THREATENED AND ACTED UNDER DURESS. I TOLD TED TO FIX THE WHEELS SO I COULD GET THE CAR AN GO. TODAY I GET A CALL THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO BALANCE THE TIRES AND NEEDED TO REPLACE ALL FOUR AND FOR THE HECK OF IT I NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT TOO. ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE THE DIRECT RESULT OF FAULTY, UNSAFE WHEELS. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT THEY WERE NO HELP AT ALL. NO ONE WILL ADDRESS THE FACT THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE. THEY TOOK THE POSITION THAT I MUST BE THE ONE TO DETERMINE THAT. RIGHT NOW I AM SITTING HERE WAITING FOR A CALL THAT THE REPAIRS ARE DONE. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THE CAR IS UNSAFE AND THEY KNOW THAT. MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A NEW 2013 CADILLAC XTS A YEAR AGO AND HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE VOGUE TIRES AND RIMS THAT CAME WITH THE CAR. THE TIRES ARE VOGUE M&S 245/40R20 99VXL AND WE BELIEVE THEY ARE A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. A FEW MONTHS AGO THE FRONT TIRES HAD A MAJOR VIBRATION ISSUE SO I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND HAD IT CHECKED OUT. THE DEALER STATED THAT I HAD A BAD TIRE AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO BUY ANOTHER ONE WHICH I PAID $100.00 FOR. THE RIMS STARTED TO PEEL AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RIMS ARE NOT UNDER A WARRANTY. AFTER THAT, A FEW DAYS AGO THE CAR STARTED TO VIBRATE AGAIN IN THE FRONT SO I TOOK THE CARE IN FOR SERVICE. THE DEALER HAD A TECHNICIAN AND I TO PERFORM A ROAD TEST AND THE CAR COMMENCE TO VIBRATE IN THE FRONT AT A HIGHWAY SPEED OF 65MPH AS VERIFIED BY THE TECH. AFTER A FEW HOURS THE DEALER STATED THAT DUE TO THE LOW PROFILE OF THE TIE THIS ISSUE WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. THE TECH SHOWED ME THAT NOW I HAVE A BENT RIM IN THE FRONT AND AGAIN HE STATED THAT DUE TO THIS TYPE OF RIM AND TIRE THIS ISSUE WILL CONTINUE. THEY (THE DEALER) PERFORMED A ROAD FORCE BALANCE OF THE BENT RIM AND PLACED THE RIM ON THE DRIVER REAR. THE DEALER PERFORMED AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE ALIGNMENT WHICH I PAID FOR) AND FOUND OUT THAT DUE TO THE BENT RIM THE TOE WAS OUT AND HAD TO BE CORRECTED. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DEALER STATING THAT DUE TO THE TYPE OF LOW PROFILE TIRES AND RIMS WHICH CAME WITH THE CAR THAT THIS ISSUE WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN UNTIL ALL THE RIMS ARE BENT AND THAT I WOULD HALF TO BUY NEW RIMS. WE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS CAR BUT ARE NOW WORRIED THAT WE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING IT IF THE TIRES AND RIMS ARE NOT GOOD FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR. IN LIGHT OF THE RECENT GM'S RECALL FOR FAULTY IGNITION SWITCHES, THESE CAR HAVE A PROBLEM TOO! IT IS WAY TO EASY TO ACCIDENTALLY SHUT THE CAR OFF BY TOUCHING THE STOP START BUTTON ON THE DASH. WE DID THIS AT A STOP LIGHT AND HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND STEP ON THE BRAKE TO RESTART IT. I LATER TESTED WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING AT 35 MPH IF THE STOP/START BUTTON WAS HIT. THE CAR SHUT OFF AND THERE WERE NO POWER BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. I IMAGINE THE AIR BAGS WOULDN'T WORK EITHER. TO RESTART THE CAR, IT NEEDS TO BE IN PARK OR NEUTRAL WITH THE BREAK APPLIED. IF THIS HAPPENS AT FREEWAY SPEEDS IN TRAFFIC, THE CAR WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT POWER STEERING. PEOPLE MIGHT WIND UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD STOPPED TOO. WHILE TRAVELING IN PARKING LOT, ANOTHER CAR PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME. AS I TRIED TO BRAKE TO AVOID A COLLISION, I NOTICED IT WAS TAKING AN INORDINATE AMOUNT OF BRAKE PRESSURE TO SLOW DOWN VEHICLE. LOOKED AT TACHOMETER AND RPM'S WERE OVER 4000 IN DRIVE AND NOT LOSING SPEED. APPLIED BRAKE PRESSURE WITH BOTH FEET ATTEMPTING TO SLOW VEHICLE DOWN. HAD TO SLAM VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TAP ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES TO RETURN ENGINE TO IDLE RPM'S. TOOK VEHICLE TO CADILLAC DEALER WHO ADVISED COMPUTER SAID NOTHING OCCURRED. THIS SAFETY DEFECT OCCURRED AGAIN IN APRIL 2014 WITH SAME RESULTS. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A COMPUTER MONITOR ON VEHICLE AFTER SECOND INCIDENT, WHICH HAS SINCE BEEN REMOVED. CADILLAC HAS BEEN SENT TWO LETTERS REGARDING THIS INCIDENT AND HAS TAKEN NO ACTION EXCEPT TO ADVISE THEM IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WILL NOT ACTIVATE. SHE WEIGHS 115 LBS, IS 5'1". SHE SITS ON 3 INCH MEMORY FOAM CUSHION FOR BACK FOR EIGHT YEARS, NO STRUCTURE, ONLY FOAM. IN EIGHT YEARS SHE HAS USED CUSHION, WE HAVE OWNED 5 CARS AND HAVE RENTED OVER 40 CARS AND SHE HAS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ACTIVATION. CADILLAC SAYS THE SYSTEM IS OK. I ASKED TO TRY ON ANOTHER XTS AND IT STILL DID NOT ACTIVATE. THIS IS A DESIGN PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THAT SOME CUSHIONS MIGHT INTERFERE WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM, BUT THIS THIN CUSHION DOES NOT. I SHOULD SAY IT WORKS IN CORVETTES AND WORKED IN THE LOANER 2013 CTS CADILLAC. THE SEAT IN THE XTS IS A NEW DESIGN AND I BELIEVE IT IS DEFECTIVE. THE SEAT IS NOT FLAT AND REQUIRES A MUCH HEAVIER PERSON TO ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG. I BELIEVE THIS IS UNSAFE. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT MANY OLDER PEOPLE, SUCH AS WOULD PURCHASE A CADILLAC, DO USE CUSHIONS AND WILL EITHER NOT BE AWARE OF OR WILL IGNORE THE FACT THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK. I RETURNED MY CADILLAC (AND LOST $14,000) AS I HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN MY WIFE OR THE CAR. I PURCHASED A LEXUS LS460 AND THE AIRBAG WORKED PERFECTLY WITH HER CUSHION. *TR
