TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE DRIVING 20 TO 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT A HIGH SPEED. THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,200. MY AIRBAG NEVER DEPLOYED DURING A FRONT END COLLISION. MY CAR CONTINUES TO GET STUCK IN PARK. THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH DOES NOT WORK. THE AC CONTINUOUS TO MAKE A TICKING SOUND AND STILL DOES NOT WORK AFTER REPLACING A VALVE FOR A LEAK AND REPLACING THE COMPRESSOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED A READING OF 25 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER BECAUSE THE CONTACT REFUSED TO DRIVE IT HOME. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION, THE DEALER STATED THAT FAILURE CODES FOR THE FUEL TANK AND EVAP HOSE APPEARED DURING A DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE CODES WERE RESET. APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR LATER THE FAILURE RECURRED. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO COVER THE REPAIR EXPENSES BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,665 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,194.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN SPEED FOR MILES AS PRESSURE WAS REMOVED FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED APPROXIMATELY FIFTY TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY, THE RPMS WOULD FLUCTUATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD JERKS FORWARD ERRATICALLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DISCOVERED THAT WHILE THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN NEUTRAL, THE TIRES WOULD CONTINUE TO SPIN EXCESSIVELY ON WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. UPDATED 6/8/11 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE CASE WAS CLOSED. 06/13/11
I BOUGHT THE CHEVY AVEO OFF THE LOT BRAND NEW. CAR IS RUNNING OK. BUT THE AIR BAG LIGHT STARTED TURNING ON AND OFF AT FIRST AROUND THE APRIL 2009. THEN IT COMPLETELY STAYS ON, THIS HAPPENED SOME TIME LATER THE SAME YEAR, I CAN'T REMEMBER WHEN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE LIGHT SHOULD NOT STAY ON, THAT INDICATES THAT ALL THE AIRBAGS ARE DISABLED. I ASKED IF THEY WOULD FIX IT, AS THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY MAJOR CRASH. HE SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO FIX THE AIRBAGS AT MY COST. I RECENTLY LEARNED THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE AVEO. CHEVROLET INSTALLED COUNTERFEIT AIRBAGS OR ITS CONNECTORS. I BELIEVE CHEVY SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OF IGNORING IT. *TR
HAVE NOW REPLACED FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS TWICE ON MY AVEO. *TR
DURING HOT WETHER OR WHEN THE HEATER IS ON, THE CAR RADIO WONT OPERATE. *TR
WE PURCHASED A NEW 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO FROM DEVOE CHEVROLET IN ALEXANDRIA, INDIANA, ON 4-12-2007. FROM THE BEGINNING, THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIR BAG HAS ONLY WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO DEVOE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THEY COULD NEVER DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, OR FIND ANYTHING WRONG. YET, THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED. THEY DID REPLACE THE SEAT, CHECKED THE SEAT WITH WEIGHTS, ETC., BUT IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. FINALLY, WHEN THE AIR BAG WAS NOT WORKING WITH ME (TERESA SHUMAN) SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, WE TOOK IT TO DEVOE, AND RUSTY (THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER) SAW THAT THE AIR BAG WAS NOT WORKING WITH ME SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THEY AGAIN TRIED TO CHECK THINGS OUT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO WHILE WE WERE THERE, BUT FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THEY DID FINALLY FIND AN OLDER BULLETIN FROM GM THAT SAID THE AIR BAG IN THE AVEO SOMETIMES DID NOT WORK FOR THE PASSENGER IF SOMEONE LEANED BACK A LOT (I WASN'T), OR IF THEIR BOTTOM DIDN'T FIT THE SEAT CORRECTLY. DEVOE HAS NO IDEA WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. WE CALLED STEPHANIE (GM REP AT 1-866-790-5700, EXT 21936, CASE #71-692588437). STEPHANIE TOLD MY HUSBAND CRAIG THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT GM CAN DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. WE DO NOT FIND THIS ACCEPTABLE AT ALL!!!! AND, THE AIR BAG HAS NOT JUST MALFUNCTIONED WITH ME, BUT ALSO MALFUNCTIONED WITH SOME OF OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. WE WERE NOT TOLD, WHEN WE PURCHASED THE CAR, THAT THE AIR BAG WOULD MAYBE NOT WORK, OR WOULD ONLY WORK INTERMITTENTLY, IF A PERSON'S BOTTOM DID NOT FIT THE SEAT CORRECTLY. THE AIR BAG HAS MALFUNCTIONED FOR OVERWEIGHT, UNDER WEIGHT, AND NORMAL WEIGHT PEOPLE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY IN A CAR AS SMALL AS THE AVEO!!! WE CANNOT BELIEVE THAT GM MORE OR LESS TOLD US TO LIVE WITH THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP US . AND, IT'S IMPORTANT THAT PEOPLE WHO HAVE PURCHASED AN AVEO, OR ARE THINKING ABOUT PURCHASING AN AVEO, KNOW THAT THE PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG MAY NOT WORK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH SHE STRUCK A LARGE BUMP IN THE ROAD. AS A CONSEQUENCE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE RIM HAD BECOME BENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE WHEEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46000.
I BOUGHT MY AVEO NEW. AT ONLY 6,000 MILES THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AND 5,000 MILES LATER THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED AND I CRASHED--THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. GM WOULD FIXED THE BRAKE BOOSTER BUT NOT THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR! AT 13,000 MILES THE BRAKE DRUMS NEEDED TO BE RE-SURFACED, THE BRAKE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE CUT, AND I HAD TO GET NEW BRAKE PADS--AGAIN GM WOULD NOT FIX IT AND MADE ME PAY FOR IT. AT 16,000 MILES THE AIR BAG SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER FAILED. AT 18,000 MILES THE GAS GAUGE FAILED AND THE SHIFTER GOT STUCK IN PARK, AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD WORK ON AND OFF. AT 20,000 MILES THE ALL FOUR TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AROUND THIS TIME, GAS MILEAGE DIPPED TO ABOUT 19-21MPG, BUT GM COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY. AT 30,000 MILES I HAD TO GET NEW ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS--AGAIN I HAD TO PAY FOR IT EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE WEARING OUT PREMATURELY. AT 35,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SHIFT HARD SO GM RECOMMENDED I CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AT A COST $450 BECAUSE THE FLUID HAS A SPECIAL ADDITIVE THAT IS SHIPPED FROM KOREA! AT 44,000 MILES THE ENGINE DIED--MORE LIKE BLEW UP. GM SAID THAT IT IS MY FAULT FOR LETTING IT RUN TOO HOT, THOUGH I HAD NO WARNING FROM ANY GAUGES, LIGHTS, ECT... AGAIN I HAD TO FIX IT EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. AT 48,000 MILES THE A/C NEEDED TO BE OVERHAULED--I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. AT 52,000 MILES I HIT A DEER AND AGAIN THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY JUNKED IT. ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT IN MY MIND THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. GM SHOULD BE SUED FOR THIS CAR. THEY DO NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY AT ALL. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS TREATED ME WITH DISRESPECT. A COUPLE OF DEALERS REFUSED TO EVEN ACCEPT MY CAR FOR REPAIR. THE CAR IS VERY SCARY TO DRIVE AND NOT SAFE AT ALL. WITH ALL THE MONEY I SPENT FIXING THE CAR PLUS MY CAR PAYMENT EACH MONTH, I COULD HAVE EASILY PURCHASED A BMW INSTEAD. GM IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST FOLKS TO DEAL WITH. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY OR SUPPORT ANYTHING FROM GM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND WOBBLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE FRONTAL SHOCKS, ROTORS AND STRUTS WERE CAUSING THE FAILURE AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE RIMS WERE ALSO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,800.
AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN FRONT END CRASH OF 40 MPH. *TR
OUR CHEVY AVEO ONCE AGAIN WAS BROKEN THREE TIMES IN ONE MONTH THE CLUTCH STUCK IN PARK MODE UNABLE TO GO INTO DRIVE MODE CHEVY AVEO WAS EARLIER WITH CLUTCH STUCK ON JUNE 15, 2008, JULY 15, 2008 AND JULY 21, 2008. CHEVY AVEO FAILED TO RESPOND TO RECALL THE CHEVY AVEO AS THIS IS A SERIOUS HAZARD TO MY FAMILY. COUPLE OF OBSERVATIONS: CHEVY AVEO HAD A FULL TANK WHEN IT WAS DELIVERED ON 7/21/2008 AT 14889 MILES. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CHEVY AVEO ON 7/23/08 IT SHOWED AN 1/8 FUEL WAS USED DURING THIS SERVICE SHOWING MILEAGE AT 14962. GAS BEING EXPENSIVE AT THIS TIME I WAS WONDERING WHETHER IT WAS TEST DRIVEN FOR 75 MILES? SECONDLY, TEAM CHEVROLET INVOICE STATES " CUSTOMER STATES THE KEY WOULD COME OUT OF THE IGNITION? I NEVER STATED THIS AT ANY TIME. THE PURPOSE WHY THE CHEVY AVEO WAS SENT BACK TO THE SERVICE CENTER WAS BECAUSE THE CLUTCH SHIFT WAS STUCK ONCE AGAIN IN PARKING MODE AND WOULD NOT MOVE BACK TO DRIVE MODE. THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE KEY AT ANY GIVEN TIME, IGNITION KEY HAD FREE MOVEMENT. THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE. *TR UPDATED 07/24/08
BACK IN MAY OF 2008 I PICKED MY SON UP FROM SCHOOL, I SMELLED A SMELLED LIKE ANTIFREEZE. I STOPPED AT THE STORE BUT I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS MY CAR. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER, WHEN WE WENT TO CHURCH, I SMELLED THE SAME SMELL, BEING WE WERE THE ONLY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT, I KNEW THEN IT HAD TO BE MY CAR. WE PUT WATER IN IT AND WAITED UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING TO TAKE TO THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED THE CAR FROM. THEY SAID IT APPEARED THAT I HAD HIT SOMETHING AND THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR WAS DAMAGED HOWEVER I KEPT SAYING I DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING AND THEY TOLD ME TO TRY TO TURN IT IN TO MY INSURANCE AND SEE IT THEY WOULD COVER IT. ONE MAN EVEN WALKED ME TO THE CAR AND SAID IF I NEEDED HELP THAT "HELP ME OUT". THAT AFTERNOON I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY TELLING THEM EXACTLY WHAT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT I HAD TO HAVE HIT SOMETHING BUT I DIDN'T REMEMBER HITTING ANYTHING WOULD THEY COVER IT. IN THE END THE INSURANCE COMPANY COVERED THE REPAIR OF THE RADIATOR PLUS 5 DAYS OF RENTAL CAR. WHEN WE WENT TO HAVE THE REPAIR DONE ON THE RADIATOR, WE ASKED FOR THE OLD RADIATOR BACK. MY HUSBAND TOOK IT BACK TO HIS SHOP AND DID A PRESSURE TEST ON IT. THE HOLE WAS ACTUALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF IT NOT IN THE BOTTOM AND YOU COULD SEE WHERE THE FAN SHROUD LINED UP WHERE THE RADIATOR MOUNTS TO IT AND IT HAD RUBBED A HOLE IN IT CAUSING THIS WHOLE PROBLEM. EVEN THOUGH THE INSURANCE COVERED THIS, I STILL THOUGHT RETRIBUTION NEEDED TO BE MADE BECAUSE PERHAPS THIS WAS A LEMON CAR OR EITHER A RECALL NEEDED TO BE DONE. THIS HAPPENED AT 23,000 MILES APPROXIMATELY. THEN THE FOLLOWING MONTH THE SAME FAN SHROUD RUBBED A HOLE IN THE AIR CONDITION LINE AND WE WERE WITHOUT AIR ABOUT 2,000 MILES LATER AND THE DEALERSHIP TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS AND COVERED THIS UNDER THE WARRANTY. IT REALLY DIDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. I HAVE CALLED GMAC AND THEY HAVE SAID THE DEALERSHIP ARE THEIR EYES AND EARS AND WE HAVE GIVEN THEM THE OLD RADIATOR BACK SO THEY COULD SEE WHAT WE SAW . *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SHE MENTIONED THAT SHE HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY FOUR TIMES BECAUSE THE REPAIR ONLY LASTED FOR 25,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO ONLY OFFERED TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,900 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000. UPDATED 03/15/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED FOUR TIMES. UPDATED 04/29/11
THE ANTENNA MODULE HAS WENT OUT 2 TIMES. WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU CANNOT PLAY THE RADIO DUE TO MAJOR STATIC WHEN YOU TURN ON THE REAR DEFROSTER. *TR
BOTH HEADLIGHTS ON THE LOW BEAM SETTING FAILED TO WORK. HIGH BEAMS WORKED AS THEY SHOULD. FUSES, HEADLIGHT SWITCH, PARKING BRAKE SWITCH, AND RELAYS CHECKED OUT OK. THE ASSUMPTION IS THAT A VOLTAGE SPIKE BURNED OUT THE LOW SIDE OF THE BULBS AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT BLOWING ANY FUSES. THIS WAS DISCOVERED DURING THE DAY RATHER THAN AT NIGHT. *TR
BEARING AND HUB ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED ON LEFT SIDE AND ALSO THE ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVERS FRONT SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
SOMETIMES WHEN IT IS WINDY,OR WHEN A SEMI COMES FROM OPPOSITE DIRECTION, THE CAR WILL SORT OF JERK & GET A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE. HAVE TOLD THE DEALER WHERE WE GOT THE CAR TWICE NOW & THEY SAID IT IS JUST A NOISE FROM THE AERODYNAMICS . I HAVE ASKED ANOTHER PERSON IF THEY HAD THIS WITH THEIR AVEO & THEY SAID NO. THIS HAS HAPPENED A LOT FOR THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS. THERE WERE TIMES IN BOTH 2007 & 2008. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE FRONT END OF HIS VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND THE RADIATOR IS SHAPED LIKE A "V". THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THREE OCCUPANTS WERE INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE OTHER DRIVER CONFIRMED THAT SHE STOPPED THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING DUE TO THE WEATHER AND POOR VISIBILITY. THE CONTACT HAS PHOTOS AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 12,200.
SOMETIMES WHEN IT IS WINDY SPECIALLY ON THE BRIDGES OR HIGHWAY,OR WHEN A SEMI COMES FROM OPPOSITE DIRECTION, THE CAR WILL SORT OF JERK & GET A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE AND THE FORCE WILL MAKE THE CAR TO BE VERY UNSTABLE WHILE DRIVING LIKE IF THE CAR WOULD BE PULLED BY A GREAT FORCE, I TOLD THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND EVEN SHOWED THEM A VIDEO RECORDING I DID WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THEY NEVER DID ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS VEHICLE HAS BECOME A GREAT RISK FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AND IM SCARED OF EVEN GOING ON TRIPS WITH THIS CAR. *TR
ACCIDENT/ REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE IN MY 2007 CHEVY AVEO 5. $3,200 DAMAGE TO MY CAR AND AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
PASSENGER AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT REMAINS OFF WITH 140 + LB ADULT IN PASSENGER SEAT. VEHICLE HAS 2,400 MILES. DEAL CAN NOT DUPLICATE - SAYS "IS NORMAL IN COLD WEATHER" AND TO "MOVE AROUND ON THE SEAT" TO ACTIVE. RESTARTING THE CAR CORRECTS THE PROBLEM. *TR
12/30/07I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK,THE BATTERY LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT STAYED ON WHILE DRIVING, THEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED TO LOSE POWER,ALL OF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WENT OFF,THE RADIO AND HEATER WENT OFF,THE HEADLIGHTS DIMMED. I WENT INTO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY, THEY HAD IT UNTIL THE 1/3/08"COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM".WE PICKED UP THE CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP, AND DROVE IT HOME. THAT NIGHT,THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN, BUT THE CAR DIED AND WOULD NOT START. WE HAD IT TOWED. THEY SAID THAT IT STARTED FOR THEM THE NEXT DAY, AND THEY "COULD NOT DUPLICATE" THE PROBLEM, IT HAD A LOW BATTERY, THEY CHARGED THE BATTERY. ON THE 17TH THE CAR HAD THE LOW BATTERY LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT ON AGAIN WHILE DRIVING, SO WE WERE DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT ON THE WAY, IT HAD THE SAME "SYMPTOMS" AND DIED,IT WAS TOWED. THEY SAID"COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM". ALL THEY DID WAS "DRIVE IT 15 MILES ONE DAY" THEN "6 MILES ANOTHER". ON 1/29 (DAYTIME), THE CAR DIED AGAIN, WITH THE SAME "SYMPTOMS" LEADING UP TO IT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM COME AND LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID ON SITE "SOMETHING LOOKS LOOSE",SO THEY HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE CAR THE NEXT DAY THE ONLY THING THEY DID WAS REPLACE THE BATTERY. I GOT INTO MY CAR AND TURNED IT ON, AND THE BRAKE AND BATTERY LIGHT STAYED ON EVEN WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED. ON DECEMBER 8, 2007 I TOOK THE 2007 CHEVY AVEO INTO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THE CAR WOULD ACT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL. THE DEALER HAD MY VEHICLE 11 DAYS AND REPLACED 3 GASKETS, 2 VALVES 4 SEALS AND CHANGED THE FLUIDS, VEHICLE WAS AT 13,143 MILES. OCCASIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SWITCH GEARS AND THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. THE HEADLIGHTS TURN ON AND OFF WITHOUT THE VEHICLE TURNED ON. THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS NO LONGER WORK AND THE CONTACT HAS TO USE HER KEY TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. AFTER LOCKING THE DOORS, THEY SOMETIMES DO NOT OPEN FROM WITHIN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT CARRIES A HAMMER IN THE VEHICLE IN CASE SHE HAS TO BREAK THE WINDOWS TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,080 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56. UPDATED 5/30/08 *CN THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ON, THE TRUNK LID WOULD POP OPEN WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WOULD OPEN AS WELL, THE TRANSMISSION HAD A STRANGE ROARING SOUND AND IT WAS ALSO HARD TO UPSHIFT AND DOWNSHIFT, THE ODOMETER WOULD JUMP FORWARD ON ITS OWN WHEN IT WAS PARKED AND THEN RESTARTED, THE HORN WOULD BLOW ON ITS OWN WHEN NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE MAKING A TURN BETWEEN 5-10 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS AND CHECKED THE AIR PRESSURE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY PERFORMED AN UNKNOWN REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE GRINDING NOISE WOULD RETURN IN A FEW MONTHS BECAUSE THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL. THE CONTACT NOTICED OIL LEAKING ONTO THE GROUND. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE OIL PUMP GASKET WAS LEAKING AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE GASKET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,751 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
