WHILE DRIVING 36 MPH GOING AROUND CURB, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO RESPOND AND REMAINED IN THE SAME POSITION. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO VEER TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND RESULTED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE MANUFACTURER OF GMC SENT AN ENGINEER TO SEE THE VEHICLE AND DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING. GMC DENIED THE REPORT ISSUED BY THE TECHNICIAN ON THIS ACCIDENT. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS. *JB
MY 2003 CHEVY BLAZER HAS HAD A FAULTY FUEL GAUGE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. IT WAS TAKEN INTO MORAN CHEVROLET IN CLINTON TOWNSHIP MI ONCE FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER FIXED. SERVICE REP INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY A BAD VEHICLE GROUND. PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS TO THIS DAY. THE ONLY WAY I CAN AVOID RUNNING OUT OF GAS IS TO RESET THE TRIP ODOMETER EVERY TIME I FILL-UP. *TR
GENERAL MOTORS HAS BEEN PUTTING DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON MOST OF THEIR VEHICLES THAT ARE TOO BRIGHT. THESE LIGHTS ARE SO BRIGHT THAT ONE TENDS TO TURN ONE'S HEAD AWAY OR SHIELD THE EYES WHEN APPROACHED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THESE LIGHTS CAN CAUSE DISTRACTION SERIOUS ENOUGH TO MAKE A PERSON IGNORE SITUATIONS THAT CAN BE DANGEROUS. THE EXTRA GLARE FROM THESE LIGHTS CAUSES EXTRA EFFORT TO BE PUT INTO THE DRIVING OF A VEHICLE.ALSO OF IMPORTANCE IS THE SUBJECT OF THE UNNECESSARY USE OF FOG LIGHTS. MOST OF THESE LIGHTS ARE SO BRIGHT THAT THEY CAUSE MOMENTARY BLINDNESS IF VIEWED DIRECTLY DURING NIGHTTIME DRIVING.*AK
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING, BUT WILL RESTART WHEN KEY WAS TURNED IN THE IGNITION. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED 5 TIMES IN WHICH A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED, NO FAILURE CODE FOUND. THEN, DEALERSHIP REMOVED THE AUTOMATIC STARTER SYSTEM, AND THE VEHICLE ONLY STALLED ONCE. A YEAR LATER, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE COMPUTER CHIP, BUT THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. *AK
I OWN A NEW 2003 CHEVROLET BLAZER... IT IS ONLY 7 MONTHS OLD WITH ONLY 7,300 MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING HOME TONIGHT AND HEARD A " CLICKING NOISE" WHICH SOUNDED LIKE THE TURN SIGNALS WERE ON... THEY WEREN'T... WHEN I PULLED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND TURNED THE BLAZER OFF (KEY SWITCH IN LOCK POSITION) STEERING WHEEL LOCKED IN POSITION, MY BLAZER WAS STILL RUNNING ! MY HEADLIGHTS WERE OFF, MY INSIDE LIGHTS WERE OFF, ALL PANEL LIGHTS WERE OFF, SO MY HUSBAND TURNED THE INSIDE PANEL LIGHTS, SWITCH THE BLAZER TURNED OFF... SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG WITH THIS... THE WHOLE SYSTEM WAS LIKE IT WENT NUTS... I HAVE WAITED A FEW HOURS AND SINCE WENT BACK OUT THERE AND TRIED IT AGAIN... SAME THING HAPPENED... AND IT ALL HAPPENED OUT OF NO WHERE... THE BLAZER HAS DRIVEN FINE... NO PROBLEMS WITH IT AT ALL SINCE PURCHASE, BUT NOW THERE IS ALSO A CLICKING NOISE THAT CAN BE HEARD UNDER THE HOOD WHEN BLAZER IS RUNNING (SITTING STILL). *LA
HEAT ACTUATOR DEFECTIVE, HAD TO BE REPLACED-CONSTANT WARM AIR BLOWS ON FEET WITHOUT ANYTHING ON. MOON-ROOF IMPROPERLY ASSEMBLED AT FACTORY-WATER POURS INTO MY TRUCK. REAR LIFT GATE SEAL DEFECTIVE-LEAKING, REAR SIDE SMALL TRIANGULAR WINDOW SEALS-DEFECTIVE-LEAKING; SEAMS ON ROOF OF TRUCK LEAKING-FOUND A HOLE IN ROOF WHERE MORE WATER WAS SEEPING IN. *LA
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND FLIPPED OVER. NEITHER OF THE FRONTAL OR SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT THE REAR AXLE HAD BROKE WHICH CAUSED THE LOSS OF CONTROL. *NLM
THE HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE CONSUMER COULD NOT DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE TRYING TO AVOID HITTING A PEDESTRIAN VEHICLE WENT OF THE ROAD AND HIT A TREE. UPON IMPACT, FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. VEHICLE COULD NO LONGER BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE TO THE FRONT END. *AK
CONSUMER HAD EXPERIENCED LOUD THUMPING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN TRANSMISSION GOT STUCK IN ONE GEAR FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. ALSO, FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WHEN GAS WAS IN THE TANK IT COULD REGISTER FULL ONE MINUTE AND HALF FULL THE NEXT MINUTE WITHOUT MOVING THE VEHICLE. MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
PURCHASED NEW 2003 CHEVROLET BLAZER WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION ON 08/08/2003. I DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR ON 08/09/2003, BUT DROVE IT AGAIN ON 08/10/2002. TWICE ON 08/08/2003, AND FOUR TIMES ON 08/10/2003, WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP, I EXPERIENCED A SIGNIFICANT FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRS THE USE AND SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. IN FIRST GEAR, WITH NO WARNING, EITHER VISIBLE, AUDIBLE, OR TACTILE, THE TRANSMISSION VIOLENTLY THROWS THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER OUT OF FIRST GEAR, BRINGING THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY INTO NEUTRAL. I HAVE PUT ABOUT 100 MILES ON THE CAR IN TOTAL SINCE I PURCHASED IT, AND THIS HAS HAPPENED SIX TIMES. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY, I HAVE AVOIDED BEING STRUCK, BUT IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. I WILL BE IN TOUCH WITH THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS IT IS OPEN TO SEEK WARRANTY REPAIRS. *NLM
2003 CHEVROLET BLAZER SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED.*MR THE CONSUMER HAS HAD TWO INCIDENTS WHERE THE VEHICLES CRUISE CONTROL HAS MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE RECORDS OF VEHICLES THAT HAS HAD THE ABOVE MENTIONED PROBLEMS, SO THEY CAN BE INVESTIGATED ON. *CB

WHILE DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES PEDAL GO ALL THE WAY DOWN AND TOOK LONGER TO STOP. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE, AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *AK
I HAVE A 02 BLAZER AND I BELIEVE THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. AFTER I HAVE GONE ONLY ABOUT 40 MILES ON A FULL TANK OF GAS THE GAUGE SHOWS ? FULL. CAN THAT BE CORRECT? IN THE OWNER?S MANUAL IT STATES THAT I AM TO HAVE AN 18-GALLON FUEL TANK. WITH AN AVERAGE OF 20 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY IT SHOULD GO TO ? TANK AT ABOUT 90 MILES.
TWO EMPLOYEES WERE INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THEY WERE THE ONES THAT STRUCK A STOPPED CAR AT 50 MPH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY....IS THIS A PROBLEM. IS THIS A POSSIBLE RECALL SITUATION. WHO DO I CONTACT ABOUT THIS A CHEVROLET??? DOES YOUR AGENCY GET INVOLVED. *NLM
AS THE OWNER OF A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER, COUP (VIN: [XXX]) I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO CONTINUE PURCHASING CHEVROLET VEHICLES IN THE FUTURE. HOWEVER, A RECENT EXPERIENCE HAS MADE ME HESITANT IN THIS REGARD. *AK WHEN I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT MY GAS GAUGE WAS GIVING QUESTIONABLE READINGS AND I HAD NO IDEA AS TO THE AMOUNT OF FUEL STILL REMAINING IN THE TANK I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANICS AT SELMAN CHEVROLET IN ORANGE. IT WAS, INDEED, DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE SENSOR WAS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY, BUT MUCH TO MY CHAGRIN I LEARNED THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THIS INCLUDES THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I PURCHASED FROM GLENDALE NISSAN (MEMBER # [XXX]) OBVIOUSLY I WAS SURPRISED THAT AN ITEM SO VITAL TO SAFETY IS NOT COVERED. I CAN UNDERSTAND IF IT WERE AN ITEM REQUIRING REPLACEMENT AFTER SO MANY MILES, BUT THAT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE CASE. I DRIVE IN HEAVY FREEWAY TRAFFIC EVERY DAY, MANY TIMES WITH MY 4 YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER, AND SHOULD I RUN OUT OF GAS THE RESULTS WOULD BE DISASTROUS IF NOT DEADLY. IN SUCH A CASE WHO WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE IF THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS DUE TO A FAULTY READING OF THE GAUGE? ARE YOU AWARE THAT THIS ITEM MALFUNCTIONS AND IF SO SHOULD IT NOT BE CONSIDERED AS A CAUSE FOR RECALL OR AT THE VERY LEAST REPLACED AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER? I HAVE A NUMBER OF CONCERNS, ONE OF WHICH IS WHETHER OR NOT YOU AUTHORIZE THE SALE OF A WARRANTY (I PURCHASED THIS AS A PRE-OWNED VEHICLE WITH APPROXIMATELY 25,000 MILES ON IT FROM A REPUTABLE DEALER) ON YOUR VEHICLE THAT HAS SUCH LIMITED COVERAGE AS THE ONE THAT I PURCHASED? ALSO IF I WERE TO HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW, WOULD THIS ITEM STILL BE COVERED UNDER THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY? ELECTRIC SUN ROOF IMPROPERLY INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY, WATER POURED IN LEAVING AN INCH OF WATER ON MY FLOOR BOARDS AND CARGO AREA. ALSO, WENT INTO SPEAKERS AND HEADLINER SOAKED AND DRIPPING. DEALER REROUTED DRAIN TUBES, MORE LEAKS OCCURED AND DEALER CLAIMS CANNOT FIND LEAK AND SENT VEHICLE BACK TO ME. WITHIN 12 HOURS OF RECEIVING VEHICLE, WOULDN'T START--DEALER REPLACED IGNITION SWITCH. HEATER BLOWER INTERMITTENTLY STOPS, DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM-NO FIX. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH , VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND IT FELT LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL GEAR. VEHICLE ALMOST GOT HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. A SENSOR IN ENGINE CAUSED TRANSMISSION TO GO OUT OF DRIVE GEAR. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT 40 MPH, CONSUMER STATES ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING IN FRONT CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP. CONSUMER REAR ENDED THAT VEHICLE, AND NONE OF CONSUMER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. PH
AFTER FUELING UP GASOLINE SPLASHED OUTSIDE OF THE TANK WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER REPLACED TANK BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. *AK *NLM

2003 CHEVY BLAZER DOOR SAFETY ISSUES. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE PROPERLY OR WILL COME OPEN WHILE DRIVING. HE STATES THAT HE HAS HAD THE PINS AND BUSHINGS REPLACED. *KB
CONSUMER STATED WHILE TRAVELING 45 MPH OR OVER ON WET PAVEMENT VEHICLE LOST CONTROL, AND TRAVELED OFF THE ROAD. REAR HATCH GLASS EXPLODED , BUT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT ANY TIME. *AK
WHEN IT RAINED WATER SEEPED INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE AND FLOODED IT. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE RUBBERS AROUND THE DOORS, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. CONSUMER INDICATED THAT WATER WAS COMING INTO THE VEHICLE FROM SOMEWHERE UNDER THE DASHBOARD.*AK
THE WAS A SENSOR ON THE DASH WHICH CONTROLLED THE HEADLIGHTS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER A TREE OR IN THE GARAGE, THE HEADLIGHTS WENT DIM. THE DEALER STATED THERE WAS A CODE TO OVER RIDE THE SYSTEM. THE DEALERS HAD NO ACCESS TO THE CODE. *JB THE SENSOR ON THE DASH TURNED DOWN THE DASH LIGHTS WHICH MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO READ THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. AT DUSK THE HIGH BEAMS CAME ON WITHOUT THE DRIVER'S KNOWLEDGE. THE CONSUMER IS LOOKING FOR THE CODE THAT WILL ALLOW THE LIGHT TO OPERATE MANUALLY. *NM
