PLEASE READ THIS COMPLAINT ALONG WITH COMPLAINT #103413322. I WAS BACKING OUT OF A FRIEND'S DRIVEWAY AND THE CAR VEERED OFF THE CONCRETE AND HIT A FIRE HYDRANT. I FIXED THE DRIVER'S REAR DAMAGE OUT OF MY OWN POCKET AT A COST OF $553.45 TO AVOID ANOTHER INSURANCE RATE HIKE. THE ACCIDENT MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE COMPLAINT NUMBER RAISED MY INSURANCE $64.00 PER MONTH AND I DID NOT WANT IT RAISED AGAIN OR CANCELLED. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2009 CHEVY COBALT BECAUSE IF ONE WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE AT A SPEED OF UNDER 10 MPH. THE STEERING IS NOT CONTROLLABLE. I MENTIONED THIS TO ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL WHERE I OBTAINED THE CAR AND THEY SAID THEY WERE TOLD EITHER BY GM OR THE RNTERPRISE CORP. THAT THE CARS DID NOT NEED TO BE FIXED AND COULD BE RENTED AS IS. *TR
WITH JUST OVER FIVE THOUSAND MILES ON THE CAR THE REAR BRAKE PADS ARE GRINDING. THE OF THE REAR ROTORS HAS DEEP GROOVES. WHEN IT IS WET ITS EXTREMELY HARD TO STOP. I ALMOST HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME WHEN I WAS ON AN EXIT RAMP BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T STOP. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2009 CHEVY COBALT WITHIN THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILED RESULTING IN A FAIRLY HORRIFIC CRASH, WITH THE CAR COMING TO REST ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AGAINST SOME TREES. I SUFFERED A HEAD INJURY AND THANK GOD MY SON WAS NOT HURT ALTHOUGH WE HAVE BOTH BEEN SUFFERING FROM HEADACHES SINCE THE ACCIDENT. WERE IT NOT FOR THE SMALL TREES LINING THE ROAD THE CAR WOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO ROLL POSSIBLY KILLING US BOTH SINCE NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS TOTALED AND I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE VIN#. *TR
I BOUGHT A NEW 2009 COBALT SS TURBO ON APRIL 15TH 2009, ABOUT 8 MONTHS LATER MY REAR BRAKES HAD GROOVES IN THE ROTORS AND MY LEFT REAR CALIPER WAS STICKING. THIS CAUSED VERY POOR BRAKING PERFORMANCE. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE LEFT REAR CALIPER, NEW REAR PADS AND THEY MACHINED THE ROTORS. I HAVE HAVE SINCE HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK INTO MY DEALER DUE TO A RING OF RUST BUILDING UP ON THE LEFT REAR ROTOR. I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THE REAR BRAKES ON THESE CARS HAVE DEFECTIVE PARTS FROM THE FACTORY. THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF OTHER 2008-2010 COBALT SS OWNERS HAVING THESE ISSUES.
REAR BRAKES ON 2009 COBALT SS T/C ONLY 1500 MILES ON THE CAR AND REAR ROTORS ARE ABSOLUTELY TRASHED. OUTSIDE PAD LOOKS GOOD INSIDE PAD IS DOWN TO THE MEDAL. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT SS SEDAN. THE CAR HAS BARELY BROKEN 10K MILES. THE BRAKES ARE WEARING ABNORMALLY FAST. I AM VERY GENTLE WITH THEM ALWAYS, AND THEY ARE VERY WORN ALREADY. PULLING UP TO STOP SIGNS OR TRAFFIC LIGHTS IS RIDICULOUS. THE SCREECHING FROM THE BRAKES IS LOUD. I HAVE NEVER HAD BRAKES GO OUT THIS EARLY ON ANY OF MY OTHER VEHICLES. *TR
THE NIGHT OF FEB. 12 2010 STARTED OUT FINE UNTIL....I STARTED MY LITTLE COBALT AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS MAKING SOME SORT OF BUZZING NOISE EVERY TIME I TURNED THE WHEEL. DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL I STARTED DRIVING. THE CAR HAS ALWAYS HAD VERY BAD TORQUE STEER, BUT THIS WAS WORSE THAN USUAL. THE CAR MADE A ABRUPT LEFT TURN, AFTER GOING OVER A SHALLOW PUDDLE. IF THIS IS WHAT I'M BUYING FOR $14000, I WANT A MORE SAFE CAR. SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A SUBARU. : ) *TR

MAKING LEFT TURN. WHEEL TURNED ABOUT 45 DEGREES AND STUCK. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, I COULD TURN WHEEL FREELY. WHEEL OFTEN SLIPS LEFT OR RIGHT FOR NO APPARENT REASON, AS THOUGH IT NEEDS AN ALIGNMENT. ONLY THREE MONTHS AND 3,000 MILES OLD. *TR
I OWN A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT AND HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A SIGNIFICANT RUMBLE WHEN THE CAR IS WARM AND IN GEAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH MY PERSONAL MECHANIC HAS BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I COMPLAINED TO GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY REFUSE TO HANDLE THE CASE. THEIR ONLY RESPONSE IS TO SUGGEST THAT I TRADE THE CAR IN FOR A FORD AND CONTACT MY ATTORNEY. *TR
HAD TO REPLACE REAR BRAKES ON 2009 COBALT SS AFTER ~ 12000 MILES. ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. MADE VERY NOTICEABLE SCREECHING AND GRINDING SOUNDS. BRAKE PERFORMANCE HAD DECREASED VERY MUCH EVEN BEFORE THEY WERE REPLACED, DECREASE IN PERFORMANCE OF BRAKES AT ABOUT ~7000-8000 MILES. *TR
I OWN A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT . AFTER HAVING DRIVEN THROUGH A WATER PUDDLE THAT WAS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR I APPLIED THE BRAKES FOR A STOP SIGN. I COULD NOT HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL IN MY HANDS. THE CAR MADE AN IMMEDIATE LEFT TURN.I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. IT WAS LIKE THE STEERING HAD A LIFE OF ITS OWN.I KNEW I WENT THROUGH A WATER PUDDLE AND WAS PREPARED TO COUNTERSTEER BECAUSE OF WET BRAKES ON ONLY ONE SIDE OF THE CAR BUT WHAT THE POWER STEERING DID ON ITS OWN, WHICH I COULDN'T OVERIDE ,WAS UNACCEPTABLE STEERING RIPPED OUT OF MY HANDS AND THE CAR MADE A HARD LEFT.I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH A FEDERAL GUARANTEE. I BELIEVE THIS CAR HAS STEERING PROBLEMS.THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE COBALT STEERING. THE ELECTRIC STEERING HAS AN APPARENTLY SHORT LIFE SPAN AND IT IS SUBJECT TO FAILURE AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT AND IS UNSAFE. *TR
2009 CHEVY COBALT LS, THE ODOMETER REGISTERS 1 MILE, SLIGHTLY BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY DRIVE 1 MILE. I FOUND THIS USING MILE MARKERS ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER SEEING MAJOR DIFFERENCES FROM OLDER VEHICLES WITH ANALOG ODOMETERS AS I TRIED TO MEASURE MILES I'D HIT MY STOP WATCH RUNNING ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THIS MAKES THE WARRANTY EXPIRE I GUESS 3-4% SOONER THAN IT SHOULD AND COULD QUITE POSSIBLE !@#$%'. OVER THE CONSUMER WHOSE NOT GETTING WHAT THEY PAID FOR. I WOULDN'T CALL THIS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT A SNEAKY WAY TO SCREW THEIR CUSTOMER OVER. I JUST SPOKE TO GM TODAY ABOUT IT BUT DOUBT ANYTHING WILL BE DONE TO RESOLVE THIS. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 17,000 MILES ON IT WHICH IS REALLY MORE LIKE 16,500 OR A LITTLE BIT UNDER AND IF SOMETHING HAPPENS JUST AFTER THE MILEAGE FOR WARRANTY PURPOSES, THAT'S !@#$%'. OVER YOUR CUSTOMER. I KNOW THIS IS GOING ON AT LEAST IN MY COBALT AND I FIND IT INTERESTING TO HEAR TODAY THERE ARE CASES OF POWER STEERING ISSUES. I HAVE YET TO EXPERIENCE THAT THUS FAR BUT WILL COMPLAIN AGAIN IS THAT COMES UP. GM IS !@#$%'. IT'S CUSTOMERS OVER!! *TR
MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE AND THEN MY POWER STEERING WAS GONE COMPLETELY.. THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME AND THE SECOND TIME MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON ME AFTER THE DEALERSHIP PUT A NEW POWER STEERING COLUMN ON IT. THE SECOND TIME MY TWO YEAR OLD SON WAS WITH ME AND IT WAS DARK ON OUR WAY HOME FOR THE DAY. LUCKILY I GOT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS TIME I HAD MY POWER STEERING MOTOR REPLACED. VERY IRRITATED WITH THIS CAR. MY TRUST IS GONE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATES THAT THE DOOR HANDLE BROKE. THE MUFFLER FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE GEAR SHIFT WAS BROKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE GEAR SHIFT WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO FIFTH GEAR. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. ON FEBRUARY 17, 2010, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN PULLING TO THE LEFT WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR THE DRIVER TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER OFFERED THE CONTACT $13,500 FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED BY THE DEALER FOR ONE MONTH AND ONE WEEK. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 7000.
WELL, I PUT IN A COMPLAINT A WHILE AGO ABOUT THE REAR ROTORS WEARING FAIRLY QUICK. NOW THE ROTORS NEED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. THE INSIDE PART OF THE ROTOR IS EXTREMELY DAMAGED AND NOW BRAKING DISTANCE IS NEARLY 1.5 TIMES GREATER THAN BEFORE. ITS DANGEROUS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED AS SHE WAS DRIVING AT 35 MPH SHE LOST CONTROL OF HER STEERING AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP ON HER. THE CONTACT STATED SHE HIT THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE DID A 360 AND SHE CRASHED INTO A GUARD RAIL. THERE WAS $9,000 IN DAMAGES DONE TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAS CUTS AND BRUISES TO HER NECK. THERE IS A POLICE REPORT IF NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO A SALVAGE CENTER AND IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN CALLED. I HAVE A 2009 CHEVY COBALT SS WITH EXCESSIVE REAR BRAKE WEAR ON THE ROTOR AND PADS. THE FRONT BRAKES SHOW NORMAL WEAR, BUT THE REAR ROTORS HAVE MAJOR GROOVES IN THE INNER SURFACE. *TR
I HAVE A 2009 CHEVY COBALT SS. AT APPROX. 4000 MILES THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER DUE TO THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS DEEPLY GROOVED. THE DEALER TURNED THE ROTORS AND REINSTALLED THE BRAKES. AT APPROX. 7000 MILES THE ROTORS ARE STARTING TO GROVE AGAIN. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS AFTER A LENGTHY CONVERSATION WITH ALOT OF RELUCTANCE. THE DEALER STATES AND HAS A BULLETIN FOR GMC THAT NOISE AND SQUEAL ARE TYPICAL WITH A HIGH PERFORMANCE BRAKE SYSTEM. PLEASE NOTE IT'S NOT THE SQUEAL THAT CONCERNS ME IT'S THE DEEP GROOVING OF THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS. ALTHOUGH IT HASN'T TURNED INTO A SAFETY PROBLEM YET IT IS A CONCERN. I HOPE YOU WILL INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT BECOMES ANOTHER TOYOTA AND PEOPLE ARE HURT OR POSSIBLY KILLED BE CAUSE OF PREMATURELY GROOVING AND WEARING OF THE REAR BRAKES ON THIS CAR. *TR
I HAVE A 2009 CHEVY COBALT SS THAT WAS PURCHASED NEW IN JULY 2009. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 8000 MILES ON IT. MY CONCERN, LIKE MANY OTHER COBALT OWNERS, IS THE PREMATURE WEARING OF THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS. I NOTICED THE REAR BRAKES STARTING TO WEAR OUT AROUND 5000 MILES. THE REAR ROTORS HAVE DEEP GOUGES IN THE FACE OF THE ROTOR. THEY ARE NOW STARTING TO SQUEAL WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THIS APPEARS TO BE SEVERE, PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE FRONT BRAKES SHOULD BE DOING MOST OF THE STOPPING. *TR
1) DAILY DRIVING, 90 PERCENT HIGHWAY, 10% CITY. NO ABNORMAL DRIVING LEADING TO SITUATION. 2) VERY PITTED AND WORN REAR DISC ROTORS, LOUD AND BECOMING DANGEROUS. 3) NEW ROTORS, AFTERMARKET, NEW PADS, AFTERMARKET. *TR

REAR BRAKE PADS ARE NO GOOD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE 15XXX MILES AND I AM A VERY GOOD DRIVER AND NEVER HAVE ABUSE THE CAR. IT IS BEING REPLACED UNDER GM WARRANTY GM STATED THAT ALL COBALTS SS FROM 08-09 HAVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
REAR BRAKES ARE GROOVED, GRINDING, AND SQUEAKING. DO NOT STOP THE CAR WELL. *TR
8K MILES, DRIVEN NORMALLY, 90% FREEWAY. REAR BRAKES SCORED AND GRINDING SINCE 6000K MILES. PARKING BRAKE DOES NOT LIKE TO LET GO WHEN LEFT FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR. AWAITING RESPONSE FROM SHOP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR BRAKES WOULD SQUEAK WHEN APPLIED WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD VIBRATE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE REAR ROTORS WERE WARPED AND THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES AND WAS REPAIRED TWICE BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WAS 36,000.
BRAKES FAILED, SLID IN THE SNOW AND HIT THE PASSENGER REAR RIM AGAINST THE CURB. THIS EVEN LEAD TO THE RIM BEING REPLACED, ALONG WITH THE AXLE. AFTER THE CAR WAS FIXED, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS LOOKED OVER TOO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY MANUFACTURER'S DEFAULTS. THEN I WAS TOLD THEY COULD DO NOTHING FOR ME BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAD A 12 MONTH/12,000 MI. WARRANTY, AND MY CAR WAS 17 MONTHS OLD AND HAD 19,200 MI., SO I HAD TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH GENERAL MOTORS. I THEN REPLACED THE ROTORS AND PADS AROUND THE ENTIRE CAR, OUT OF POCKET. *TR

2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO STEERING COLUMN PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED PART OF THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED 4 TIMES, SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2009. THE PROBLEM WAS ORIGINALLY NOTICED AS A RATTLE IN THE DASHBOARD AREA IN DECEMBER 2009. THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED. A SIMILAR NOISE RETURNED IN OCTOBER 2010, WHERE THE STEERING RACK AND PINION INPUT BEARING WAS REPLACED, AND ON MARCH 30, 2011, THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED AGAIN. IN FEBRUARY 2014, THE RATTLE RETURNED FOR THE 4TH TIME AND THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED. ON NOVEMBER 2, 2011 THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE OLD SWITCH HAD COMPLETELY APART INSIDE THE STEERING COLUMN. *JB
EXTREME REAR BRAKE PAD WEAR AND DAMAGED REAR BRAKE ROTORS AFTER ONLY 3,500 MILES. 2009 COBALT SS SEDAN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 35 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. SUDDENLY, SMOKE EXPELLED FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO INSPECT UNDERNEATH THE HOOD AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THERE WERE NO PERSONAL INJURIES. THE CAUSE OF FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000. UPDATED 03/01/10 *BF UPDATED 09/07/10*JB
REAR BRAKES HAVE WORN OUT WAY PRE-MATURELY ON MY NEW 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT SS TURBO. MY REAR ROTOR IS ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE AND RUSTED OVER. IT GRINDS, AND SQUEALS REALLY BAD, AND I JUST HIT 25K MILES. *TR
POWER STEERING ON MY 08 COBALT SHUTS DOWN AND IT LOCKS UP EVEN WHEN IM DRIVING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND ONE TIME ON A TURN IT LOCKED UP AND I ALMOST GOT INTO A ACCIDENT. *TR
TL*THE DRIVER OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE DRIVER NOTICED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILED WHENEVER THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DISABLED AND THE DRIVER EXPERIENCED EXTREME DIFFICULTY WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL. THE FAILURE EVENTUALLY CORRECTED ITSELF AFTER DRIVING. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS ENGINEERED THAT WAY TO SAVE FUEL AND IT WAS CHANGED FROM A HYDRAULIC STEERING WHEEL FOR THAT PURPOSE. SHE WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO "FIX" FOR THE PROBLEM SINCE THERE WAS NOTHING TO REPAIR. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND IT WAS REINFORCED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO PERFORM THAT WAY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,933. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 27830.
THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT LIGHT STAY ON ALL THE TIME EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE IT MAY GO OFF BUT IT COMES BACK ON

NOTICED MULTIPLE TIMES THAT MY PARKING BRAKE SEEMED TO "HANG UP" WHEN RELEASED. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG . I AM AT APPROX 10,500 MILES NOW AND HAVE NO PARKING BRAKE TO HOLD MY CAR. WE PURCHASED A 2009 CHEVY COBALT FOR OUR SON WHO IS JUST LEARNING TO DRIVE. WHILE PRACTICING PARALLEL PARKING AND THE 3 POINT TURN THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE. WE TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER WHO SAID THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT COULD OCCUR (AND THERE WAS A BULLETIN ISSUED BY GM) BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING IS RUN BY COMPUTER AND IT COULD OVERHEAT WHICH COULD HAPPEN WHEN PRACTICING PARALLEL PARKING. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX IT. I DO NOT FIND THIS AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION SINCE MY SON IS A FIRST TIME DRIVER AND HAS NOT EVEN TAKEN HIS DRIVING TEST YET. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY OPTIONS AVAILABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH WHEN BRAKING THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP WITHOUT WARNING. SHE THEN PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL AND NOT A BIG DEAL AND IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN TO BRING IT IN TO THE DEALER. THIS FAILURE HAS OCCURRED ONE TIME. THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPAIRS DONE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12000.

CHEVY COBALT 2009. TWO INCIDENTS INVOLVING THE SAME MODEL BUT DIFFERENT CARS. BOTH RENTED FROM ENTERPRISE. DON'T KNOW WHAT CATEGORY TO PUT THE COMPLAINT IN. STEERING? BRAKING? OR SOMETHING ELSE? THIS MODEL HANDLES TERRIBLY ON WET PAVEMENT. DOESN'T BRAKE WELL ON WET PAVEMENT, AND TIRES SPIN WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. INCIDENT 1. CHANGING LANES ON I270 MD. GOING ABOUT 50 MPH. AND SLOWED DOWN TO MOVE ONE LANE TO THE RIGHT. GOING FROM A LESS USED WETTER LANE TO LANE TO THE RIGHT, WHICH WASN'T QUITE AS WET. CAR SPUN OUT TWICE AND HIT THE JERSEY WALL TWICE. THEN I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. FAIRLY HEAVY TRAFFIC, AND NO OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED, THANK GOD. STATE POLICE WERE ON THE SHOULDER FOR TRAFFIC GOING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION ACROSS FROM ME BUT DID NOT COME TO THE CAR. INCIDENT 2. RENTED ANOTHER OF THE SAME MODEL. WHENEVER THE STREET WAS WET, THE CAR DID NOT BRAKE WELL. SEEMED TO BE VERY SHORT PERIODS OF NOT BRAKING. WHEN SLOWLY STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, THE WHEELS SPUN AND THEN TOOK HOLD. COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN ANOTHER SITUATION FOR SPINNING OUT. ENTERPRISE SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS. INSURANCE COMPANY RAISED MY RATES FROM $103 TO $167 PER MONTH! *TR

2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. CONSUMER EXPRESS DISCONTENT REGARDING RECALL REPAIRS. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE BARELY WANTED TO MOVE. SHE APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN IT ACCELERATED QUICKLY AND THE ENGINE REVVED EXTREMELY HIGH. THE CONSUMER HIT A PARKED VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER DIDN'T BELIEVE THE RECALL WAS PROPERLY FIXED. *JB
2009 CHEVY COBALT SS 4DOOR CAR HAS ONLY BEEN PUT UNDER STANDARD DRIVING CONDITIONS CITY/HIGHWAY AND BEFORE 20000 MILES THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS WERE GROVED AND WARPED BEYOND REPAIR AND THE INSIDE REAR BRAKE PAD WAS DOWN TO METAL. THE OUTSIDE PAD STILL HAD OVER 70% LIFE LEFT ON IT BUT WAS GROVING THE ROTOR ALSO. FRONT BRAKES ARE FINE WITH NO ISSUES.
I HAVE A 2009 COBALT SS AND THE REAR BRAKES ARE ALREADY FAILING AFTER A COUPLE THOUSAND MILES OF USE ON THE VEHICLE. GM NEEDS TO REPLACE THESE REAR BRAKES WITH A BETTER QUALITY PRODUCT. *TR

SHIFTING I THREW THE GEARS QUICKLY TO GET UP TO SPEED OF TRAFFIC. THE SHIFT LINKAGE BREAKS AND CAR IS EITHER STUCK IN GEAR OR NEUTRAL WITH NO ACCELERATION CAUSING TRAFFIC TO BREAK HEAVY OR ACCIDENT BEHIND VEHICLE. REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY WITH SIMILAR PARTS BUT STILL SAME PLASTIC ENDS AND CLIPS SHOULD ME METAL ON DRIVE LINE PARTS. *TR
