ON THURSDAY OCTOBER 9TH, 2014 I WAS DRIVING EAST ON RT 70. IT BEGAN TO RAIN HEAVILY AT APPROXIMATELY 4:50PM AND I ATTEMPTED TO USE THE BRAKES ON MY VEHICLE. THE BRAKES WERE SUDDENLY VERY STIFF. I DIDN'T THINK THEY WERE WORKING. I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND IMMEDIATELY PUT ON MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND TRIED TO MOVE TO THE MIDDLE LANE, TO THE RIGHT LANE SO I COULD GO TO THE SHOULDER. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO SWITCH THE LANES, THE POWER STEERING WASN'T WORKING. I MANAGED TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL SLIGHTLY SO THAT I COULD SWITCH LANES. THERE WAS ONCOMING TRAFFIC BEFORE AN AVAILABLE SHOULDER SO I TRIED TO SPEED UP. I WAS UNABLE TO INCREASE MY SPEED. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN NATURALLY BUT I WASN'T ABLE TO COMPLETELY STOP UNTIL I GOT TO THE SHOULDER AND PUSHED EXTREMELY HARD ON THE BREAKS AND HELD DOWN ON THE BREAK FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THE RADIO WAS STILL WORKING AND THE HEATER WAS BLOWING COLD AIR. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE WORKING AGAIN BY TURNING THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION AND TURNING THE IGNITION BACK ON. I THINK MY VEHICLE'S ENGINE TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAVE ONSTAR ON THE VEHICLE AND IMMEDIATELY PUSHED THE BUTTON WHEN I WAS UNABLE TO BREAK PROPERLY WITH MY VEHICLE. THE LADY I SPOKE WITH SAID THAT SHE WAS SEEING SOME PROBLEM WITH MY BREAKS BUT I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP THE SAME DAY AND THEY FOUND NO CODES FOR MY VEHICLE. THE NEXT DAY THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY FIXED THE IGNITION RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND THAT MIGHT HAVE FIXED THE ISSUE. ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS BEFORE THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED, I HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE AND BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIFYING AND I'M JUST GLAD THAT I WASN'T KILLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER SHUTTING OFF AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
WANTED TO CHANGE OIL; HAD SMELLED GASOLINE FROM TIME TO TIME; CLOSER INSPECTION SHOWED LEAK AT FUEL TANK AREA. COULD NOT DRIVE DUE TO RISK OF INJURY TO FAMILY, INCLUDING TWO-YEAR-OLD CHILD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY FAILED TO TURN IN THE IGNITION, PREVENTING THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V047000 (AIR BAGS , ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V171000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). BOTH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PIG TAIL AND THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. 2 HOURS LATER, GOT A CALL THAT THE MODULE HARNESS HAD TO BE REPLACED ALSO BECAUSE THE CONNECTION IT MADE TO THE FUEL PUMP HAD BURNED OUT AND FUSED ITSELF TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE SERVICE TECH STATED THIS WAS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE EXPOSED ELECTRICAL CONNECTION INSIDE THE FUEL TANK HAD MELTED, AND IF WE HAD BEEN LOW ON FUEL, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A FIRE. *TR
I HAVE A DISTINCT FUEL ODOR AFTER DRIVING COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR. ALSO THE CAR IS DIFFICULT TO START. IT TAKES AT LEAST THREE TRIES BEFORE THE ENGINE TURNS OVER. I AM VERY MUCH AFRAID OF A FIRE STARTING. *TR I WAS TOLD IT IS THE FUEL PUMP. THE RECALL SHOULD BE FOR ALL 2009 COBALT NOT JUST A SELECT FEW. I BELIEVE GM IS TRYING TO PULL ANOTHER FAST ONE.

THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER WAS UNCERTAIN WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
VEHICLE HAS SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT ON, LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON, HAS BEEN DOING THIS AT ALL SPEEDS, BUT NEVER STAYS ON FOR MORE THAN A MINUTE. CAR HAD THIS LIGHT ON WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM A DODGE DEALER IN DEC.2011, AND THEY SAID THAT THEY REPAIRED IT, BUT IT WAS NOT REPORTED IN DETAIL TO GM WARRANTY SERVICE, SO THEY LIED. NOW CAR NEEDS AIR BAG REPAIRS, NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY, AND IT WILL COST OVER $900.00, AND CAR ONLY HAS 88,464 MILES ON IT. THIS WAS TOLD TO ME BY A CHEVROLET DEALER WHO IS DOING THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL FOR MY CAR. I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY, AS I'M STILL MAKING CAR LOAN PAYMENTS FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS. I THINK THIS IS AWFUL, AIR BAGS AND SENSORS SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 88,464 MILES. MY 1997 SATURN NEVER HAD AIR BAG PROBLEMS, AND IT RAN UNTIL 297,336 MILES. AWFUL, TOO EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR!!!!!, NO ASSISTANCE WITH PAYING FOR AIRBAG REPAIR, AND CAN'T SELL CAR UNLESS IT IS REPAIRED. THE DODGE DEALER WHO SOLD ME THE CAR SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE, AS THEY DID WORK TO GET THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT OFF, WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM THEM. THEY HID THE INFORMATION FROM ME, WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR. AIR BAGS DO NOT NEED ONGOING SERVICE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LUG NUTS ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE SEPARATED WHEN THE WHEELS WERE BEING REPLACED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPAIRED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE LUG NUT, BUT THEY CONTINUED TO DETACH ON THE OTHER WHEELS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,507.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWN A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS FAILURES. THE RACK AND PINION HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE WINDOW MOTORS WERE REPLACED SIX TIMES, AND THE IGNITION WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE FAILURES WERE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A RECALL REGARDING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE RECALL, WHICH INCLUDED NEW IGNITION KEYS. SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR, THE KEY PAD FOR THE DOORS NO LONGER WERE ABLE TO CONTROL THE DOOR LOCKS. THE VEHICLE ALSO BEGAN TO EMIT A BURNING RUBBER ODOR FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. ADDITIONALLY, THE STARTER KEY WAS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE FROM THE IGNITION OCCASIONALLY WITHOUT HAVING THE STEERING WHEEL IN A SPECIFIC POSITION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SOMETIMES THE ENGINE AND ALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WOULD FAIL TO START; HOWEVER, ONLY THE TAIL LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE'S MICRO SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING AND WOULD NOT RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE BEGAN VIBRATING AND THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD WHINING NOISE COMING FROM THE UNDERCARRIAGE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER AFTER KEEPING THE VEHICLE PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES. IN ADDITION, ONCE THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS ACTIVATED TO LEVEL THREE OR HIGHER, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE MASTER CYLINDER ON THE BRAKES WAS FAULTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000. THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH A NEW SET OF KEYS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED. THE CHECK ENGINE AND SERVICE TRACTION INDICATORS ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED ON MY 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT, BUT THE IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS AFTER HAVING THE RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED. THERE'S THE POSSIBILITY THAT A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC STILL EXISTS IF THERE ARE CASES SIMILAR TO MINE. THE VEHICLE IGNITION WAS INADVERTENTLY SWITCHED TO THE "OFF" POSITION WHILE I WAS GETTING ONTO A HIGHWAY. I WAS SHIFTING MY HIPS TO ADJUST MY SEATING POSITION, AND MY KNEE BUMPED INTO MY KEYCHAIN AND CAUSED THE IGNITION TO SWITCH TO THE "OFF" POSITION. I LOST SPEED CONTROL AND POWER STEERING, BUT I WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY, SHIFT INTO "PARK", AND RE-START THE VEHICLE. THIS EVENT HAPPENED WITHIN 48 HOURS OF ME HAVING THE RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED AT A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. *TR
I HAVE A FUEL PUMP LEAK ON MY 09 CHEVY COBALT. ACCORDING TO RECORDS, GM ISSUED A RECALL ON 9/19/2012 DUE TO ISSUES WITH THE PLASTIC COVERING ON THE FUEL PUMP CRACKING. THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED TO OWNER'S WHO PURCHASED REGISTERED THEIR VEHICLE IN VARIOUS STATES, INCLUDING FLORIDA (OR UNDER SPECIAL COVERAGE # 12191 OTHER STATES MAY QUALIFY), HOWEVER, I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THIS RECALL, DESPITE GM'S LEGAL OBLIGATION TO NOTIFY ALL CUSTOMERS WHO QUALIFY. MY CAR WAS REGISTERED IN FLORIDA PRIOR TO THE RECALL ISSUE DATE AND THEREFORE SHOULD QUALIFY. MY CAR HAS BEEN ISSUING THE SMELL OF GASOLINE OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS AND A DIAGNOSTIC TEST FROM A REPUTABLE MECHANIC HAS SHOWN THAT THE PUMP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO DIFFICULTY IGNITING THE ENGINE/STARTING THE VEHICLE. GM REFUSES TO REPLACE THE PART FOR ME, THOUGH I FEEL AS AN OWNER OF A 2009 CHEVY COBALT I SHOULD BE COVERED FOR THIS RECALLED PART. *TR

I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF A NOISE ON DRIVER SIDE NEAR TIRE DURING LOW SPEED WHILE GOING OVER A BUMP. DEALER STATED THE STEERING COLUMN WAS BAD. REPLACED THE PART AT A TOTAL COST OF $874.62. THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE STEERING COLUMN LOWER BEARING THAT IS FAILING ON THE NHTSA WEB SITE, WITH SOME INDICATING THEY HAD TO REPLACE THIS PART MULTIPLE TIMES. I FEEL THE PART IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE THE STEERING TO SEIZE AND THE OPERATOR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY TOOK MY COMPLIANT OVER THE PHONE, BUT THEY MOST LIKELY WILL NOT REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPAIRS UNLESS THEY DETERMINE THE PART IS DEFECTIVE. I WANT THIS TO FURTHER INVESTIGATED BECAUSE I FEAR THE NEW PART CAN FAIL AT ANY TIME CAUSING A CRASH AND A POTENTIAL FATALITY. *TR
GETTING INTO CAR AFTER WORK, NOTICED GASOLINE SMELL, GOT OUT OF CAR WALKED AROUND AND LOOKED UNDER CAR, DID NOT SEE ANY VISIBLE LEAKS ON GROUND. SMELL HAD NOT BEEN NOTICEABLE ALL OF THE TIME AND IS NOW WORSE, CAN ALSO SMELL INSIDE CAR AS WELL AS OUTSIDE. TO THIS DAY STILL NOT SEEING ANY LEAKS UNDER CAR HAVE BEEN PARKING OVER CARDBOARD LARGER THAN THE CAR HAVE ALSO CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOT SEEING ANYTHING. TODAY BECAME SICK FROM THE STRENGTH OF GASOLINE TO THE POINT OF VOMITING. AFTER READING TONIGHT THAT OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR INCIDENTS, FEEL IT IS NECESSARY TO REPORT THIS ISSUE AS I DO LIVE IN A VERY HOT AND HUMID LOCATION THAT IS NOT PART OF THE LISTED STATES THAT CHEVROLET IS ALLOWING FOR THIS RECALL, THAT IS UNJUST. LOOKS LIKE CHEVROLET NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE BEFORE PEOPLE START DYING FOR SOMETHING THEY ARE CLEARLY AWARE OF, AGAIN! *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E021000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH), BUT THE FAILURE SOON RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V073000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SPECIFIC DATE AS TO WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE), HOWEVER THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
I HAD A VERY BAD GAS LEAK. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY CAR WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL THEY HAD ON THE SAME PROBLEM DUE TO MY VIN NUMBER. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED WITH APPROX. 43,000 MILES IN 2010, AND PAID FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT DIDN'T TEST ALL FUNCTIONS OF POWER WINDOWS, ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WORKED . I WAS UNAWARE OF THIS FOR MONTHS BECAUSE I SELDOM HAVE OTHERS IN MY CAR. ON JULY 18TH 2014,THE DRIVERS WINDOW WOULD NOT WORK. I HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT THE OTHER WINDOWS, BUT THOUGH I MIGHT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH SAFETY LOCKS .I HAD ALREADY CALLED ABOUT THE RECALL THAT I SAW ON TV, AND WAS TOLD THAT PART WAS NOT AT DEALERS, AND WOULD BE CALLED WHEN THEY GOT THE PARTS. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CHARGED FOR ANY REPAIRS TO WINDOWS AS MY EXTRA WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. I THOUGHT WARRANTY WAS FOR 90,000 MILES, I DID TALK TO MANAGER, AND TOLD HIM I HAD C/O NUMEROUS TIMES ABOUT THE 3 NON WORKING WINDOWS.AT THE SAME TIME DRIVERS WINDOW QUIT, THE LIGHT ON ODOMETER QUIT WORKING.I DID HAVE CAR TO JUMP, AND KEEP RUNNING AFTER TURNING OFF CAR, THEY DID FIX WITH IGNITION KIT. CONTINUED TO CALL TO SEE IF RECALLED PART WAS IN AND WAS TOLD I COULD PAY FOR EXAM ON WINDOWS ON WINDOWS AT THE SAME TIME. *TR

I LOOKED UP ONLINE AND THE RECALL FOR THIS CAR, REGARDING THE SAME RECALL FOR OTHER CARS OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL, ISN'T INCLUDED. THE GAS LEAK IS VERY CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IN THIS CAR. WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET, MY CAR STARTED SHAKING & MY ENGINE, OIL & TRACTION SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE ENGINE SERVICE POWER DETECTOR CAME ON MY DASHBOARD. I HAD TO MISS WORK & CALLED THE DEALERSHIP & INFORMED THE MECHANIC OF THE PROBLEM. HE ASKED ME TO DRIVE IT IN. I INFORMED HIM THAT I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING ON THE STREETS OR THE HIGHWAY. THE MECHANIC OFFERED FOR ME TO USE THEIR TOWING COMPANY BUT THEY CHARGE. I INFORMED THEM THAT I HAVE TOWING SERVICE. THE CAR WAS TOWED THAT DAY & ON FRIDAY, I RECEIVED A CALL; WHILE I WAS AT WORK FROM THE MECHANIC STATING THAT THEY CHECKED THE CAR OUT & THE FRONT THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A SENSOR BEING FAULTY. THE COST OF REPAIRS WOULD BE $575. I JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR ON 4/19/14 FROM JIM TRENARY IN O'FALLON MO & 3 WEEKS LATER, I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILING. THE DEALERSHIP DID PAY FOR THAT EXPENSE BUT NOT THIS ONE BECAUSE THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. I FEEL LIKE THEY ARE TRYING TO GET OVER ON ME BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN & DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT CARS. I CALLED TO SEE IF THEY COULD TRY TO FIX IT FOR LESS BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER FOR THE SENSOR TO BE PUT IN. BETWEEN APPROX 45 AND 60 MPH VEHICLE SOUNDS AS IF DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. WILL STOP VIBRATING INTERMITTENTLY ABOVE 60 MPH. VIBRATION IS FELT FROM FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT SWAY. NO TROUBLE SHIFTING. BETWEEN 3 MECHANICS HAVE BEEN GIVEN 3 DIFFERENT ANSWERS: LOOSE BODY PART VIBRATING IN WIND, SUSPENSION, TRANSMISSION. I COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION WHEN THE IGNITION WAS NOT ON THE "OFF" POSITION. I TOOK THE CAR TO CARMAX AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A RECALL FROM CHEVROLET. CHEVROLET FIXED IT, BUT YEARS AFTER THE FACT CHEVROLET CONTACTED ME AGAIN SAYING THAT THE PARTS THAT THEY REPLACED WERE USED PARTS THAT I NEED IT TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER. I CALLED AGAIN MY CLOSEST CHEVROLET ( VAN CHEVROLET KCMO) DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS NEED TO BE ORDER AND THAT IT MAY TAKE UP TO 2 MONTHS. MEANWHILE NOW THERE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM IN THE CAR THE THEFT LOCK SYSTEM GOT TURN ON BY ITSELF. MY CAR DOES NOT WANT TO START NORMALLY. I WAS GOING UP A HILL TO GO TO WORK TO PICK UP MY PAYCHECK THAT DAY. I PUSHED ON THE GAS PEDAL I WAS ONLY GOING 10 OR 15 MPH WHEN THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. IT LOST ALL POWER AND I FREAKED OUT; BECAUSE IT HAPPENED SO FAST THAT IT SCARED ME HALF TO DEATH. THANK GOD THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND I HAD TO RESTART THE CAR. THEN I PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE AND DROVE UP THE HILL. I WAS SO SCARED AND FRIGHTENED THAT IT SCARED HALF TO DEATH. I AM STILL SCARED AND FREAKED OUT TO DRIVE THE CAR. EVERYTIME I DRIVE IT I AM SO NERVOUS. I JUST WANT THE IGNITION SWITCH FIXED. I JUST WANT IT FIXED. THE CAR DEALER IN OWN TOLD ME THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART TO FIX IT YET. THEY TOLD ME I HAVE TO DRIVE IT AND IT WON'T BE READY FOR ANOTHER MONTH OR SO. THAT DOES NOT HELP THE SITUATION AT ALL. GM DEALER WAS CONTACTED WITH RECALL INFORMATION ON THIS VEHICLE IN LAST WEEK OF MAY 2014. WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE PART WOULD BE ORDERED, WE WOULD BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST, AND THEN CALLED WHEN THE REPAIR WAS SCHEDULED. TWO MONTHS HAVE NOW PASSED WITH NO IDEA FROM THE DEALER WHEN PARTS WILL ARRIVE OR WHEN THIS SAFETY ISSUE WILL BE CORRECTED. I FEEL LIKE I AM SITTING ON A TICKING TIME BOMB EVERY TIME I DRIVE THIS CAR AND THAT GM ISN'T REALLY THAT CONCERNED WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE. WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO ME IS THAT THIS IS MY DAUGHTER'S CAR AND MY SAFETY WITH THIS VEHICLE IS NOT NEAR AS IMPORTANT AT THAT OF ONE I LOVE VERY DEARLY.
