MY DRIVERS DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE FOR 3 DAYS ABOUT MAY 15TH-18TH. I TRIED ALL THE "TRICKS" AND NOTHING WORKED. I FINALLY AM ABLE TO OPEN IT BUT THE DOOR HAMDLE BROKE OFF SHORTLY AFTER. AND NOW TODAY 6/6/19 MY DRIVER DOOR WONT LATCH EVERY TIME I CLOSE IT EVEN AFTER DEGREASING ANE REGREASING THE LATCH. ALSO MY TORSION BARS AND STEERING BAR HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT THEY ONCE AGAIN HAVE COME LOOSE. THE DOORS HAPPEN IN PARK INNA DRIVEWAY AMD THE CAR SWAYING ISSUE I FEEL WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO SAFETY PRE-INSPECTION STICKER WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM DEL CHEVROLET (1644 LANCASTER AVE, PAOLI, PA 19301, (484) 324-4265). AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE FAILED INSPECTION. THE INSPECTION SHOP INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED REPLACEMENT, THE VEHICLE NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT, FOUR NEW TIRES, AND A NEW LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED ON MORE THAN ONCE OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V171000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, 14E021000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), AND 14V047000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
BETWEEN APPROX 45 AND 60 MPH VEHICLE SOUNDS AS IF DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. WILL STOP VIBRATING INTERMITTENTLY ABOVE 60 MPH. VIBRATION IS FELT FROM FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT SWAY. NO TROUBLE SHIFTING. BETWEEN 3 MECHANICS HAVE BEEN GIVEN 3 DIFFERENT ANSWERS: LOOSE BODY PART VIBRATING IN WIND, SUSPENSION, TRANSMISSION. HAD BALANCE AND ALIGNMENT CHECKED WITH NO ISSUES. CONTACTED GM DEALER TO CHECK RECALLS AND OTHER KNOWN ISSUES, NONE FOUND. NO PREVIOUS SYMPTOMS, VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY UNTIL 6/18. DO NOT CURRENTLY DRIVE VEHICLE OUT OF FEAR OF SOMETHING BREAKING OR FALLING APART. AM STILL TRYING TO GET DIAGNOSED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE WHEEL BEARING FAILED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO EMIT A LOUD NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TWO FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,998.
I TOOK MY 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT 1LT SEDAN TO THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM TODAY TO GET MY VEHICLE INSPECTED AS REQUIRED PER MY STATE. PRIOR TO TODAY, FOR ABOUT THE PAST WEEK OR SO, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WENT TO AUTOZONE AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ON IT SAYING A CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. REPLACED IT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT AWAY FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN CAME BACK ON. (REPLACED BOTH OF THE SENSORS TO BE SAFE) CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD TURN OFF FOR DAYS THEN RANDOMLY COME ON. WENT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED I NEEDED A NEW FRONT RIGHT STRUT SINCE MINE'S WAS LEAKING. CALLED UP A FEW OTHER MECHANICS AND THEY HAVE SAID THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH COBALTS. IF YOU GOOGLE "COBALT STRUT LEAKING", THERE ARE MANY RESULTS, YET NO RECALL. THIS ISN'T JUST COMMON IN MY VEHICLE'S MODEL YEAR BUT WITH ALL COBALTS. I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL SINCE THIS IS COMMON AMONG THIS MAKE/MODEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN OFF THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT HAD TO DISCONNECT THE RALLY FOR THE FUEL INJECTORS IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH LOCK CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT VEHICLE WOULD DRIFT FROM LEFT TO RIGHT WHEN DRIVING AT LEAST 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED FOR THE DRIFTING FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
WEARING OF REAR BRAKES. THIS INCLUDES DEEP SCORING OF THE ROTOR AND BRAKE PAD AS WELL AS LOUD GRINDING WHEN STOPPING. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE 100 MILES. I AM NOW AT 5K MILES AND HAVE SEEN A FEW CARS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. PADS AND ROTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED AND AN ALIGNMENT DONE. *TR
