MY ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL COMES ON REGULARLY ESPECIALLY WHEN I HIT SAND IN DRIVEWAY AND TIRE SPINS WHICH I EXPECT BUT AT OTHER TIMES THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WITHOUT ANY TIRE SPIN OR CONDITION THAT WOULD WARRANT THIS. TURNING FROM A STAND STILL IS ANOTHER TIME THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON WITHOUT ANY TIRE SPIN. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS CAR NOW AND I GOT A NEWER ONE. I AM WORRIED ABOUT HER SAFETY AS SHE IS AN OLDER LADY [XXX] AND IF BRAKES LOCKED UP OR STEERING SHE WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE SITUATION.
I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60MPH WHEN MY LIGHTS WENT OUT. I HAD TO PULL OVER, AND THEIR WAS A GOOD DEAL OF TRAFFIC. I DISCOVERED THAT MY BRIGHT LIGHTS WERE WORKING. I HAD THIS PROBLEM OFF AND ON FOR AWHILE. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. I GOT IT BACK AND CONTINUED HAVING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE AVOIDED DRIVING AT NIGHT WHICH LIMITS THE USE OF YOUR CAR. MOST PEOPLE WOULD CONSIDER THIS TO BE DANGEROUS AND DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE-DRIVING AND HAVING YOUR LIGHTS GO OUT IN TRAFFIC. *TR

I HAVE A 2006 CHEVROLET CORVETTE, WHILE DRIVING ALONG AT NIGHT ALL OF A SUDDEN THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO PULL OVER WITHOUT HITTING ANYONE OR BEING HIT. I FOUND THE PROBLEM TO BE THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ONLY. THE HIGH BEAM STILL WORK AND I WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME .I FOUND OUT ON PC THAT I WAS NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM AND LIKE OTHERS THEY WILL WORK AGAIN WHEN CAR IS COOLED DOWN. AFTER DRIVING HOME APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES FROM WORK WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WORKING, THEY QUIT WORKING AFTER PARKING FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, THE LIGHTS ON THE CAR WENT OUT. AFTER PULLING OFF THE ROAD TO A SERVICE STATION, I NOTICE ALL THE LIGHT WERE WORKING EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVE LIGHT. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE LIGHT ON AND OFF, CHECKING THE FUSES AND FINDING OUT THE HIGH BEAM WERE WORKING. I DROVE HOME WITH HIGH BEAMS. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID THE LIGHT WERE WORKING. THEN THAT EVENING, AGAIN THE LOW BEAM WHEN OUT WHILE DRIVING, I REALIZED THAT THEY WORK FOR ABOUT 30 TO 45 MINUTES BEFORE THE CUT OUT EVERY TIME. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND SPOKE WITH THEM. THEY HAVE SAID THAT THIS IS ON GOING ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF. FOR THEY KEEP FUSE BOXES FOR CORVETTES IN STOCK, MAKING A COMMENT THAT THEY DON'T KEEP FUSE BOXES IN STOCK FOR HIS TRUCK. I HAVE CHECK OUT A FEW FORUM AND FOUND OUT THAT HIS HAS BEEN A CONSISTENT ISSUES FOR THIS MODEL OF CORVETTES. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, AS YOU DEPEND ON THE DEPENDABILITY OF HAVING LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING. IF SOMEONE IS UNPREPARED WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THERE COULD BE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS A RESPONSIBILITY OF INDIVIDUALS TO ENSURE THAT THE VEHICLE IS SAFE AND IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY WHEN THERE A MULTIPLE RELATED ISSUES ABOUT THE SAME COMPLAINT. THE MANUFACTURE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT THE PRODUCT A SAFE AND RELIABLE PRODUCT FOR THE CONSUMER. DAILY, EACH TIME THE HEADLAMPS CAME ON THE LOW BEAM WOULD WORK THEN GO OUT. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP EXPLAINING THE RIGHT LOW BEAM GOES OUT MINUTES AFTER IT COMES ON DAILY AT DAWN OR DUSK BELOW IS WHAT THE LOCAL CHEVROLET INVOICE C46040 DATED FEBRUARY 25, 2014 STATES: CONCERN: CUSTOMER STATES THE RIGHT LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT IS INOP ADVISE CAUSE: RF LOW BEAM BULB INOP CORRECTION: REPLACE RF LOW BEAM BULB, ALL LIGHTS OPERATING AT THIS TIME PARTS: 000 025735604 BULB TECH: XXX I PAID $441.36 TO REPLACE A LOW BEAM HEADLAMP THAT GMC/CHEVROLET KNEW WAS CAUSING ISSUES SINCE MAY 2013 GMC/CHEVROLET HAS DONE NOTHING TO THIS DATE ABOUT ANNOUNCING A RECALL BUT ADMITS TO THE GOVERNMENT THAT THE INTERMITTENT HEADLIGHT FAILURE WAS DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE ENGINE BAY. AT THIS SAME TIME MY LOW JACK TRACKING DEVICE STARTED HAVING ISSUES AND LOW JACK REPAIRED THE ISSUE AT NO COST BUT CHEVROLET CHARGED ME FOR THEIR EVALUATION OF THE ISSUE AND SAID IT WAS NOT THE FAULT OF THE CAR. I DISAGREE. I FEEL VERY STRONGLY THAT THE ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE ENGINE BAY IS ALSO THE CULPRIT IN THIS SITUATION. I DRIVE COMMUTE THREE TIMES A WEEK ROUND TRIP 112 MILES, THE FIRST 30 ARE BEFORE DAWN AND THE LAST 56 ARE AT NIGHT. I WAS DRIVING WITH A FAULTY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT THAT COULD STOP WORKING AT ANY TIME AND PRESENTED A SAFETY RISK TO ME AND OTHER CARS. I HAVE CALLED GMC MULTIPLE TIMES ASKING FOR VERIFICATION OF THIS PARTICULAR RECALL AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NO RECALL. I FEEL THAT GMC/CHEVROLET MUST PROVIDE A RECALL TO PREVENT MORE CORVETTE DRIVERS FROM EXPERIENCING SITUATIONS LIKE MINE. *TR
