TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHILE TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE SUSPENSION WOULD BECOME UNSTABLE AND THE CONTACT COULD HEAR A LOUD NOISE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V377000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.
WHILE PARTICIPATING AT TRACK DAY, SPONSORED BY PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA AT THUNDER HILL IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, MY INSTRUCTOR, WHILE DRIVING, EXPERIENCED BRAKE FADING. WHEN WE RETURNED TO PADDOCK, WE CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID. IT HAD BOILED OUT THROUGH THE CAP. WE ALSO EXPERIENCED AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OVER HEATING WARNING LIGHT. WHEN I RETURNED TO IDAHO, I TOOK THE CAR TO CHEVROLET OF TWIN FALLS. INVOICE # 532956. THEY CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION; BRAKES AND REPLACED THE BRAKE FLUID. THEN SENT ME ON MY WAY. THIS CAR IS SOLD AS AN PERFORMANCE CAR. FADING BRAKES, COULD EASILY CAUSE SEVER INJURY OR DEATH. *TR
The contact owns a 2014 Corvette Chevrolet. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle misfired and was not running properly. The information center became inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where the information center and plugs were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time and was diagnosed that metal shavings were in the oil pan and that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that while driving in his neighborhood, the stabilizer and engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the same dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 4,900.
TRANSMISSION GOT OVER HEATED 3 TIMES WHILE DRIVING LOCAL .. HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT 6 SPEED AUTO .. GOT TOWED TO THE DEALER TO FIND THE WHOLE TRANNY WAS SHOT WITH IN 24HRS OF BUYING CAR.. DEALER HAD CAR FOR THREE WEEKS TO INSTALL NEW TRANSMISSION . TRANNY IS STILL RUNNING HOT AROUND TOWN AT 235 TEMP ... STILL WORRIED .. *TR
AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN YOU HAVE THE WHEELS TURNED IN EITHER DIRECTION ALL THE WAY THE TIRES SEEM TO HOP HAPPENS REALLY BAD IN REVERSE. *TR
DRIVER SEAT ADJUSTMENT MALFUNCTION, SEAT CONTROLS DID NOT RETURN TO NORMAL POSITION TRAPPING THE DRIVER BETWEEN SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. SEATS WILL GO FORWARD BUT DO NOT RETURN OR MOVE BACK TO NORMAL POSITION. *TR
THERE ARE ALREADY A FEW REPORTS ON THE SKIPPING AND HOPPING AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN THE WHEELS ARE LOCKED ALL THE WAY LEFT OR RIGHT WHILE TURNING. I EXPERIENCED THIS ON DELIVERY AND HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR 9 MONTHS. SINCE THE COLD WEATHER HAS ARRIVED THE ISSUE HAS GOTTEN EVEN MORE SEVERE, LIKE THE FRONT END IS GOING TO FALL OFF. CHEVROLET WILL NOT ADMIT TO THIS PROBLEM/ISSUE BUT IT IS A GENERALLY KNOW ISSUE RELATED TO THE "ACKERMAN" EFFECT. MOTORTREND IDENTIFIED IT AND RESORTED TO SAYING THE 2014 CORVETTE IS NO PARKING LOT CAR. CHEVROLET STILL HAS NO COMMENT. HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THIS I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. IN MY OPINION CHEVROLET HAS A FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE THE BUYER AWARE. ALSO, IF YOU SEE SOME OF THE BLOGS ON CORVETTES IT IS ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED THERE. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER ABOUT IT AND THEY ARE CLUELESS. THEY GAVE ME AN EXPLANATION THAT DIDN'T HOLD WATER TO ME AND THEY EVEN DROVE THE CAR AND DUPLICATED THE MOVEMENT. I HAVE NOW ASKED FOR A FACE TO FACE WITH THE FACTORY REP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS FAILED INTERMITTENTLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODEM AND WIRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. PURCHASED 2014 CORVETTE- STINGRAY ON 1/21/14. ROCK HIT WINDSHIELD 2/20/14- CHIPPED GLASS. REPLACED GLASS VIA SAFELITE. SAFELITE DAMAGED SUPPORT SYSTEM BEHIND THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR WHICH CAUSED SIGNALS TO REFLECT ON DASHBOARD: "SERVICE THEFT ALARM" AND "TOP-NOT SECURED". CAR WAS AT DEALERSHIP FOR 8 DAYS WAITING FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS TO ARRIVE. 2 DAYS AFTER CAR WAS RELEASED IN WORKING CONDITION- ANOTHER ROCK HITS WINDSHIELD & CHIPS THE PASSENGER SIDE OF GLASS. IS THERE POSSIBLY A PROBLEM WITH THE ANGLE OF THE WINDSHIELD? IS THERE POSSIBLY A PROBLEM WITH THE QUALITY OF THE GLASS CHEVROLET HAS INSTALLED IN THE NEW STINGRAY? I HAVE HAD ROCKS HIT MY WINDSHIELD(S) OVER THE YEARS- I HAVE OWNED OVER 20 CARS- ( 13 PREVIOUS CORVETTES ) FROM WHAT I RECALL- I HAVE ONLY HAD TO HAVE 1 WINDSHIELD REPLACED PRIOR TO THIS NEW CAR. USUALLY - THESE ROCKS REFLECT OFF OF THE GLASS WITHOUT ANY DAMAGE. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN/ANGLE AND QUALITY TO THE WINDSHIELD THIS COULD POTENTIALLY BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE NEW STINGRAY-CORVETTE! *TR
WHEN STEERING IS TURNED ALL THE WAY IN EITHER DIRECTION, THE FRONT WHEELS SEEM TO HOP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTE STINGRAY. WHILE COASTING THE CONTACT STATED WHEN THE WHEELS WERE TURNED, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE EXHIBIT A HOPPING MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 380.
