The car randomly shuts off when driving. It also has problems with accelerating when the AC system is turned on.
My car was recalled for problems with fuel system or something of that nature, I took it to get repaired not once but about 3 times and problem is still ongoing. When I press the gas, the car shoots all the way to the 3rd gear and gets stuck at about 27 miles which is very dangerous, especially when I’m on the freeway. It will also cut off in the middle of the road making me have to put my car in park and recrank the car, multiple people have almost ran dead into the back of my car. They basically told me it is no way to fix my car. Now, it has caused more problems. My car is now saying “engine power reduced” and “service brake assist” when I try to press the brakes, it’s literally almost impossible. I have to almost stand on the brake and it still does not stop all the way. My brakes are new btw, so it shouldn’t still have this error message. I’m basically driving a lemon. This car is not reliable at ALL. I have put so much money into this car and with it being a 2016, you would think it wouldn’t have all of these problems… the car just jerks when I’m driving and nobody can seem to fix it! Oh, and let me not forget about the fuse that blew in my USB ports causing me not to be able to use all the features of my vehicle. This car is a nightmare. Also, I believe that when there are recalls for safety issues like this, we should be notified but of course that’s asking for too much. I have only had this car since 2019. It was serviced on 4/28/21, 5/26/21, 6/6/21 and after that I literally gave up and just hope I don’t wreck out and die.
CODE U0164 :DATA COMMUNICATION WITH THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM HAS BEEN LOST OR INTERRUPTED. CODE U0155 : DATA COMMUNICATION WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SYSTEM HAS BEEN LOST OR INTERRUPTED. RECEIVED THESE CODES FROM ON STSR TOOK MY VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP NEXT DAY THEY SAID THEY FOUND NO ERRORS. BUT, I DON'T KNOW HOW NOW WHEN EVER I USE XM SIRIUS RADIO IT ALWAYS SAYS LOST CONNECTION/SIGNAL. ALSO, VEHICLE IS ALWAYS HOT LIKE THE HEATER IS ON WHEN IT'S NOT ON. HAS LOST IN ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS BEEN DOING THAT FOR THE LAST MONTH OR 2. ALSO THE DASHBOARD SEEMS TO NOT BE WORKING NO LIGHTS COME ON WHEN FLUIDS ARE NEEDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED RAPIDLY WITHOUT WARNING AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. UPON REMOVING PRESSURE FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AWAY FROM THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESTROYED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,400.
ON TWO OCCASIONS, DURING ACCELERATION, I EXPERIENCE A STUCK THROTTLE CONDITION ON MY 2016 CHEVY CRUISE. ONCE IN EARLY APRIL (REPORTED TO DEALER) ON A CITY STREET AND A SECOND TIME ON MAY 10TH, 2017 ON A FREEWAY ON RAMP. DURING THE FIRST INCIDENT I WAS ABLE HIT THE GAS PEDAL WITH MY FOOT AND IT RELEASED, DURING THE SECOND ACCELERATION INCIDENT, I TRIED TO UNSEAT THE PEDAL WITH MY FOOT TO NO AVAIL, I THEN PUSHED THE SHIFTER TO NEUTRAL AND THE ACCELERATOR DISLODGED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FISHER CHEVROLET ON MAY 10TH AND THEY ROAD TESTED THE CAR AND WERE UNABLE TO "VERIFY THE CONCERN." THE DEALER HAS SINCE CALLED ME AND STATED THAT THEY HAD CONTACTED GM ENGINEERING AND WERE TOLD THIS CONDITION COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. IT DID HAPPEN, ON TWO OCCASIONS. IN BOTH CASES I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE IN S SITUATION WHERE NO ONE WAS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. I'M GREATLY CONCERNED WITH THE VEHICLE'S CONDITION OF SAFETY. A STUCK THROTTLE IS A TERRIFYING AND SERIOUS SAFETY SITUATION. MY WIFE NOW REFUSES TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AND GM DENIES THE POSSIBILITY OF IT HAPPENING. "I'M OFFENDED BY THEIR RESPONSE. THEY WANT ME TO RETURN TO DEALERSHIP FOR MORE TESTING. AT THIS POINT, I AM EXTREMELY HESITANT TO BE TOLD "WE FIXED IT". I HAVE LOST ALL CONFIDENCE IN THE SAFETY OF THE CAR. I WANT GM TO BUY IT BACK!
