INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE LAST TWO DAYS WHILE DRIVING HOME THE POWER ASSIST WENT OUT ON THE FREEWAY DRIVING HOME. STANDARD FREEWAY SPEED. HOT DAY 95 TO 100 DEGREES. THE FIRST DAY I REPLACED THE FUSE STEERING WORKED. TODAY IT WENT OUT AT THE EXACT PLACE ROUGHLY 20 MINUTES DRIVING. VERY FRIGHTENING ALTHOUGH I WAS ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF THE ROAD. TODAY. THE CAR SAT FOR 30 MINUTES AND TO MY SURPRISE IT STARTED WITH UP WITH POWER STEERING. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY MY YEAR WAS PART OF THE RECALL IN CANADA BUT NOT THE US. PEOPLES LIFE ARE AT STAKE AND THE BURDEN OF THIS REPAIR IR REPLACEMENT SHOULD FALL TO THE MANUFACTURE INCIDENT DATES THUS FAR 6/10/19 AND 6/11/19
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY HHR LT SEDAN. THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVING FINE UP UNTIL ABOUT A MONTH AGO, MAYBE A BIT LONGER. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX. 15 MPH, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND IT TOOK EVERYTHING I HAD TO TURN THE WHEEL. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, RESTARTED IT AND IT DROVE FINE FOR A DAY OR SO. NOW, IT IS BECOMING WORSE! I RAN A SHORT ERRAND YESTERDAY AND I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR NO LESS THAN 8 TIMES. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP HERE AND WAS TOLD IT WASN'T ON THE RECALL LIST. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CHARGE ME $130 AND HOUR JUST FOR DIAGNOSTIC WORK. I CAME VERY CLOSE TO HAVING AN ACCIDENT ONE EVENING WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I HAD NO PLACE TO PULL OVER AND HAD TO TURN INTO THE ONCOMING LANE OF TRAFFIC. THIS ISN'T JUST A COSMETIC OR TRIVIAL PROBLEM! SOMEONE COULD GET KILLED OR BADLY INJURED. CHEVY/GMC NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THIS PROBLEM AND FIX IT BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.
POWER STEERING GOES OUT. WARNING LIGHT INDICATES POWER STEERING. OCCURS WHILE FREEWAY OR CITY DRIVING AND WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. OCCURS FROM 0 TO 65 MPH. TO RESOLVE ISSUE YOU MUST TURN OFF THE ENGINE WAIT A FEW SECONDS THEN TURN IT BACK ON. ISSUE HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR THE LAST 3 TO FOUR MONTHS.
ELECTRIC STEERING KEEPS GOING OUT . WORKS 5 MINS THEN TURN THE CAR OFF TRY AGAIN WORLD 5 MINS AND GOES OUT AGAIN. SNATCHED US OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH. CAN'T TURN STEERING WHEEL
POWER STEERING ON MY VEHICLE WILL STOP WORKING AFTER 10 SECOND OF MY MOVING MY VEHICLE
POWER STEERING GOES OUT SECONDS AFTER THE WHEELS START ROLLING. IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO MANEUVER AFTER THAT. TURNS R CLOSE TO IMPOSSIBLE UNLESS YOU ARE GOING A DECENT SPEED. PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK OR NEUTRAL AND SHUTTING IT OFF THEN BACK ON AGAIN WILL RESET THE STEERING AND IT BUYS YOU A FEW SECOND OF EASY TURNING BEFORE U HEAR A CLICK NOSE UNDER THE DASH AND ASSISTANCE IS GONE. THIS IS A HAZARD TO THE PERSON DRIVING AND ANY VEHICLE OR PERSONS AROUND WHILE TURNING.
THE HHR IS IN MOTION AT RANDOM SPEEDS, TEMPERATURE, LOCATION, ETC. AND THE DIC LIGHT FOR "POWER STEERING" COMES ON. WE HAVE CHANGED THE APPROPRIATE FUSES (UNDER THE HOOD AND PASSENGER SIDE CENTER PANEL) AND STILL HAVE SAME RESULT-NO POWER STEERING. WE HAVE CHECKED THE PLUGS/CONNECTORS ON THE STEERING COLUMN HAVE BEEN CHECKED FOR ANY LOOSE CONNECTIONS OR BROKEN CONNECTORS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, BUT ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING INTO A CURVE AND IT SHUTS OFF. WE CHECKED THE WIRES UNDER THE HOOD AS WELL. WHILE WE HAVE POWER STEERING, THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY TOUCHY AND HARD TO DRIVE IN A SAFE MANNER. NOW, OUR LEFT TURN SIGNAL WILL SOMETIMES STAY ON AFTER THE TURN IS COMPLETE AND WON'T CLICK OFF. WE LOVE OUR CAR BUT THIS IS GETTING TO BE VERY DANGEROUS AS WE USE IT TO AS A FAMILY CAR WITH KIDS.
A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE HAS BEEN NOTICEABLE WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE. MECHANIC REPAIR SHOP STATES IT IS THE FUEL LINE AND RETURN WHICH HAVE RUSTED OUT. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH CHEVY HHR OWNERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHICH CAN LEAD TO DEATH IF A FIRE IGNITES. DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 100K MILES. RIDICULOUS!
SMELLED FUEL AND FOUND FUEL LEAKING ON DRIVERS SIDE REAR. TOOK TO MECHANIC AND WAS SHOWN THAT ALL FUEL LINES WERE RUSTED FROM THE GAS TANK TO THE ENGINE. CALLED CHEVROLET AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE AND MADE COMPLAINT THAT THIS IS A DANGERUOS PROBLEM FOR NOT ONLY FIRE BUT EXPLOSION. FOUND OTHER COMPLAINTS FOR THIS ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM
FUELLINE RUSTED OUT IN FRONT OF DRIVERS REAR WHEEL. FUEL LEAK.
THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT MAKING IT UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE MY 18 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING AND COULD NOT STEER OR CONTROL THE VEHICLE CAUSING HIM TO WRECK AND DENTED THE CAR UP AND BUSTED THE OIL PAN LOCKING THE MOTOR UP JUST BY LUCK HE WAS NOT INJURED WE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME AND IT HAS SAT HERE CAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW MOTOR I AM VERY UPSET WITH THIS WHOLE ORDEAL I'VE BEEN OUT A LOT OF MONEY AND HAVE NO VEHICLE NOW PLUS MY SON WAS VERY TRAUMATIZED OVER THE WHOLE MATTER I TRULY LOVED THIS CAR NOW IT'S JUST WASTING AWAY AND I'M OUT A LOT OF MONEYNOT TO MENTION HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDOWS ROLLING UP AND DOWN AND THE STEREO JUST QUIT WORKING AND THE BATTERIES I PUT IN IT KEPT GOING DEAD I'M TRULY UPSET OVER THIS
LEAKING OF WATER FROM WIPER CROWL TO FAN MOTOR OF HEATER AND HAS BURNT RESISTER TO HEATER BLOWER MOTOR. LEAK OF WATER WAS QUITE A BIT ON FLOOR BOARD. AFRAID IT WILL CAUSE ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION. LEAK OF WATER HAS HAPPENED DURING VEHICLE WAS PARKED OR IN MOTION.

FUEL LINE IS LEAKING BY THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND THE FUEL RETURN VAPOR LINE NEEDS REPLACED
THE CAR BEGAN HAVING DIFFICULTY STARTING AND WOULD REQUIRE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. UPON PARKING THE CAR AND GETTING OUT, I NOTICED A STRONG SMELL OF GAS THAT FADED VERY QUICKLY. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE TROUBLE STARTING CONTINUED AND THE GAS SMELL JUST GOT STRONGER AND STRONGER EVEN WHILE DRIVING. I PARKED THE CAR AND RETURNED AN HOUR LATER TO DISCOVER A WIDE PUDDLE OF FUEL DRIPPING FROM JUST IN FRONT OF THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING TO A LOT OF HHR CUSTOMERS REGARDLESS OF LOCATION OR EXPOSURE TO ICE MELT CHEMICALS.
POWER STEERING FAILS RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING, STEERING BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT AND COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS.. PULLING OVER AND TURNING THE CAR OFF RESTARTS THE STEERING, BUT IT FAILS AGAIN RANDOMLY VERY VERY DANGEROUS. WHY NO RECALL?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 114,000.
STARTED DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD POWER STEERING LIGHT AND BELLS CAME ON AND LOST STEERING. ALMOST CRASHED INTO THE DITCH . LUCKILY NOBODY WAS COMING TOWARDS US OR BEHIND US . DO NOT DARE TO DRIVE MY CAR NOW I HAVE A YOUNG CHILD.
RUSTED FUEL LINES ON DRIVER'S SIDE NEAR THE REAR. THIS IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW WITH CHEVY HHRS. I NOTICED A BAD FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS PARKED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THERE IS A SOLID "DRIP" FROM WHERE THE LINE HAS RUSTED OUT. IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE THERE IS A FIRE OR EXPLOSION AND SOMEBODY IS SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED.
FUEL LINE HAS MULTIPLE ISSUE OF LEAKING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE AT A FUEL STATION, A SMELL OF FUEL WAS DETECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED A LEAK IN THE FUEL LINE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 157,000.
TAKATA RECALL MY HORN DON'T WORK THE SERVICE AIRBAGS STAYS ON. THE STRUTS BACK HATCH DON'T OPEN CRUISE CONTROL DON'T WORK CHECKED ALL MY FUSES AND THEY ARE ALL GOOD
DRIVING AND PUSHED ON CLUTCH TO CHANGE GEARS , I HEARD A SNAP AND THE CLUTCH LOST ALL PRESSURE AND WENT TO THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION BY A MECHANIC , IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CLUTCH CYLINDER HAD PUNCHED THROUGH THE FIREWALL. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AND IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AND THIS CAUSED THE CAR TO TURN OFF. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
THIS COMPLAINT CONCERNS A 2007 CHEVROLET HHR LT WHICH WAS PURCHASED AS A NEW VEHICLE. IT IS 'ALWAYS GARAGED'. IT HAS 36,1XX ORIGINAL MILES. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO WE BEGAN TO NOTICE 'CHUNKS' OF RUST GATHERING UNDER THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. AN INSPECTION MADE BY SELF REVEALED EXTENSIVE RUST-OUT TO THE "REAR REINFORCEMENT BAR" (PART #10 IN THE ENCLOSED DIAGRAM). I CONTACTED "GM" VIA THEIR 'SOCIAL MEDIA CUSTOMER CARE CENTER', THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED THE ISSUE, AND WAS DIRECTED TO A LOCAL BUICK/GMC DEALERSHIP FOR AN EVALUATION, WITHIN HOURS I HEARD A NEGATIVE RESPONSE TO MY REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE. SUBSEQUENT ATTEMPTS BY SELF HAVE NOT GIVEN ME A SATISFACTORY EXPLANATION AS TO THE "WHY" OF THIS RUSTED PART. THIS VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN MAINTAINED TO A HIGH DEGREE. THE EXAMINER TOLD ME HE DID NOT OBSERVE ANY OTHER RUST ISSUES ON OR UNDER THIS VEHICLE. KEEP IN MIND THAT I AM NOT AN 'AUTOMOTIVE' ENGINEER; BUT- TO MY 'UNTRAINED EYE' PART OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE PART IS DEEPLY HIDDEN WITHIN THE REAR BUMPER COVER; AND THE DESIGN OF THE REAR BUMPER COVER IS SUCH THAT IT FOSTERS THE COLLECTION OF DEBRIS FROM THE ROAD ON IT'S HORIZONTAL SURFACES. THIS DEBRIS THEN IS IN SITU WITH THE METAL PARTS OF THE ACTUAL 'REAR BUMPER'. GIVEN TIME THE DEBRIS RETAINS MOISTURE WHICH 'APPARENTLY' THEN COVERS THE METAL PARTS. ...AND ONE GETS THE RESULTS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS. NONE OF THIS WOULD BE VISIBLE UNLESS A PERIODIC, CAREFUL EXAMINATION OF THE HIDDEN PARTS WERE TO BE MADE BY THE OWNER/OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE. A "POSSIBLE" MEASURE TO BE TAKEN WOULD BE FOR GENERAL MOTORS TO EDUCATE/INFORM OWNER/OPERATORS AS TO THE POTENTIAL FOR A PROBLEM. ANOTHER "POSSIBLE" SOLUTION, WERE THIS A VEHICLE STILL IN PRODUCTION (AND NOT YET ANOTHER GM 'ORPHAN' CAR) WOULD BE, OF COURSE, TO CORRECT THE APPARENT, ORIGINAL 'DESIGN DEFICIENCY'.
WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE INDICATOR CAME ON THE DASH INDICATING FAILURE. IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED THE POWER STEERING WILL WORK FINE FOR AWHILE BUT WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL AGAIN, USUALLY WITHIN 15-20 MIN. THIS STARTED AT 78,000MILES.
POWER STEERING
LEAKING FUEL LINE. SEVERAL REPAIRS DONE AND KEEPS LEAKING. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM RADIO CUTS BACK AND FORTH TO AUX, CONSTANTLY. ALL LIGHTS FOR THE BRAKES, SERVICE TRACTION, CHECK ENGINE. COME ON, GO OFF FOR A WHILE THEN COME BACK ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 37 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ABRUPTLY DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO ENGAGE IN TIME. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT TOE AND CHEST, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000. *TT *TR
POWER STEERING GOES OUT AFTER 2-3 MINUTES AFTER THE IGNITION IS TURN ON. WHEN CAR IS SHUT OFF AND BACK ON, PS WILL WORK AGAIN FOR ABOUT 2-3 MINUTES. AUXILIARY WIRE IS TIGHT NOT MOVABLE, ALSO FUSE IS NOT BLOWN.
I GOT INTO MY CAR WITH NO PROBLEM, WHEN IT WAS TIME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR I COULD NOT BECAUSE THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. I HAD TO LET THE WINDOW DOWN TO GET OUT.
LIKE MANY PTHERS, POWER STEERING INDICATOR ON DASH AND NO POWER STEERING. WORKS FOR FEW SECONDS WHEN CAR US RESTARTED THEN OUT AGAIN. HAVE REPLACED PUMP TWICE ALREADY .

WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND WENT TO CHANGE LANES AND LOST POWER STEERING. AFTER PULLING OVER AND TURNING THE CAR OFF IT WORKED AGAIN FOR LIKE FIVE MINUTES. I ALMOST GOT HIT ON THE SIDE OF THE CAR BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I CAN SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING IT.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING, SUDDENLY THERE IS A WARNING SOUND AND THE DASH SHOWS THE WORDS 'POWER STEERING'. I LOSE THE POWER STEERING AT THAT MOMENT. I ALSO FOUND THAT IF I STOP THE CAR AND RESTART, I GET THE POWER STEERING BACK, HOWEVER IT MIGHT NOT LAST LONG.
POWER STEERING GOING OUT ON THE HIGHWAY. PULLING OFF ROAD AND RESTARTING CAR TEMPORARILY FIXES ISSUE. CAN DRIVE AROUND TOWN FOR 45 MIN ATTEMPTING TO SEE IF IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN- IT DIDNT HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY TWO DAYS LATER.
TAKATA RECALL GAS LEAK ,CAR PARKED IN GARAGE STRONG SMELL OF GAS LOOK UNDER GAS LEAKING
GOOD DAY TO YOU. I OWN A RUST-COLORED 2007 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING HOME ONE AFTERNOON, (CAR WAS IN MOTION), THE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON IN THE WINDOW OF THE MESSAGE PANEL, AND IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING, I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I CONTACTED KOONS USED CARS LOCATED IN SILVER SPRING, MD (I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP) TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MY APPOINTMENT DATE, BUT WHEN I GOT THERE, A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE BY THE NAME OF "JD" TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO EITHER LEAVE MY CAR OR BRING IT BACK THE FOLLOWING WEEK BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO BUSY, WHICH THEY FAILED TO TELL ME BEFORE DRIVING 45 MINUTES TO GET THERE. THE FOLLOWING WEEK, I CONTACTED OURISMAN CHEVEROLET LOCATED IN MARLOW HEIGHTS, MD TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST $169.00 JUST TO LOOK AT IT. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, I VISITED THE DEALERSHIP AT WHICH TIME, I PURCHASED A 60A J-CASE FUSE, ONE OF THE MOST INEXPENSIVE THINGS THAT COULD POSSIBLY FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DIDN'T WORK. I AM GOING TO CONTACT SOME OTHER OFFICES TO SEE WHAT I CAN DO WITHOUT PAYING AN ARM AND A LEG. I HEARD ABOUT A POSSIBLE RECALL -- ANY TRUTH TO THIS? I NEED THIS CAR TO BE IN SAFE WORKING CONDITION. ****IT'S MY SCOOT-AROUND CAR!****
MY MUFFLER SYSTEM ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM. I'VE REPLACED THE REAR ONCE, FRONT ONCE & THE MIDDLE.

STEERING COLUMN RATTLE AND SEVERE SHAKE AT 18,000 MILES. MACHINED ROTORS AND REPLACED FRONT BRAKE PADS. REPLACED INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT, LOWER CONTROL ARMS, SWAY BAR BUSHINGS, STABILIZER LINKS AND OUTER TIE ROD ENDS PER RESEARCH AND RECOMMENDATIONS FROM DEALERSHIPS AND INDEPENDENT GM-TRAINED MECHANICS. RATTLE STILL NOT CLEARED, LATEST DEALER VISIT SAYS ONLY POSSIBLE FIX IS TO REPLACE STEERING COLUMN, ANOTHER $1000 REPAIR. CAR STILL RATTLES AT LOW SPEED OVER UNEVEN SURFACES - PROBLEM IS DOCUMENTED ONLINE EXTENSIVELY. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS THE DEALER SAID WERE WORN OUT AND DEFECTIVE THAT CAME OFF THE CAR WERE KEPT FOR INSPECTION AND FOUND TO NOT BE DEFECTIVE. GM HAS REDESIGNED ALL THESE PARTS KNOWING THEY ARE OFTEN DEFECTIVE AND SUED THE STEERING COLUMN SUPPLIER IN 2009, BUT STILL NO RECALL OTHER THAN THE STEERING COLUMN MOTOR. CALLED CHEVROLET TO OPEN A CASE AND THEIR ONLY RESPONSE WAS TO TAKE IT BACK TO A DEALER. LUDICROUS.
MY POWER STEERING KEEPS GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND ON HIGHWAY/FREEWAY. IT WILL DO IT AT LOW SPEED AND HIGH SPEEDS. IT WILL ALSO GO OUT WHILE TURNING OR NOT TURNING. WHEN IT GOES OUT IT IS WAY TO HARD TO TURN IF YOU ARE NOT MOVING AND HARD TO TURN EVEN WHILE YOUR MOVING. IT IS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BAKE ON TO RESET IT BUT CAN ONLY DOING WHILE PARKED AND IN A SAFE SPOT TO DO SO. AFTER I TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF TO RESET THE POWER STEERING IT WILL JUST GO BACK ON AFTER A SHORT TRIP. IT CONSTANTLY GOES ON. ONCE IT IS ON IT DOES NOT GET BETTER AGAIN. ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IT SAYS POWER STEERING PROBLEM WHEN IT GOES OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED TO OPEN. THE CONTACT HAD TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE WINDOW. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT PREVIOUSLY THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED TO OPEN, AND THE CONTACT STOPPED USING THE DOOR. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT SHE COULD INJURE HERSELF EXITING THROUGH THE WINDOWS AND, IF THE VEHICLE WERE TO LOSE POWER, THE WINDOWS WOULD FAIL TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED FERMAN CHEVROLET TARPON SPRINGS AT (727) 934-5789 (LOCATED AT 43520 US HWY 19 N, TARPON SPRINGS, FL 34689) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN AND THERE WOULD BE A FEE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000. *TT *TR
" TAKATA RECALL " MY DRIVERS SIDE DRIVER DOOR ( ON MY 2007 CHEVY HHR )DOES NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. I LOCKED IT CAME BACK TO OPEN IT, IT WOULD UNLOCK BUT NOT OPEN. I NOW HAVE TO CRAWL OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN THESE VEHICLES.
THE IGNITION KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH AND CAN'T BE REMOVED. THE SHIFTER IS ALSO LOCKED OUT AND I CAN'T LEAVE MY VEHICLE WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE HHR, COBALT AND IMPALA MODELS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET HHR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES DETACHED FROM THE DOORS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
DRIVING HOME AT NOTICED POWER STEERING DISPLAYED ON DASH. TOOK TO SHOP NEXT DAY THEY EXAMINED AND SAID THAT THE MOTOR IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. TWO WEEKS LATER HIT A SMALL BUMP AND CAME BACK ON AGAIN. NEXT MORNING WAS FINE. THIS HAS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. HAVE HAD SMALL ISSUE WITH NO COOLANT READING (HAD SENSOR AND THERMOSTAT REPLACED).
POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE TURNING AT A SIGNAL ON A CITY STREET. IT CONTINUED TO BE NON-OPERATIVE FOR THE REST OF THE DRIVE HOME (3 MORE TURNS). AFTER SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR A DAY, THE POWER STEERING BEGAN WORKING AGAIN.
DRIVING 45 MPH PRESSED THE BRAKES , VEHICLE STARTED ACCELERATING THEN I APPLIED EXCESSIVE FORCE ON THE BRAKES, FINALLY ENGINE STARTED TO REDUCE RPM'S NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, LUCKY THAT I AM A VERY EXPERIENCED DRIVER LOL TO OTHER DRIVERS
POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT FOR NO REASON. SHUT DOWN & RESTART CURES PROBLEM. MY 65 YEAR OLD WIFE DOES NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH GRANDCHILDREN ON BOARD.
