POWER STEERING WAS LOST ON THE EXIT RAMP OF THE HIGHWAY. DIDN'T USE THE CAR FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, THE NEXT MORNING DROVE FOR 15 MINUTES AND NO LOSS OF POWER STEERING... UNTIL A COUPLE DAYS LATER. LIST POWER STEERING WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF DOWNTOWN TRAFFIC. HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY MORE REGULAR, NOW HAPPENING AT LEAST ONCE A DAY OR SEVERAL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES AS YOU TURN A CORNER OR TRY TO LANE CHANGE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU HAVE TO YANK THE WHEEL! YOU HAVE OTHER CHEVERLOT MODELS RECALLED FOR THIS, THE 2008 HHR NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS. NOT SAFE.
MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME. I REPLACED THE BRAKE POSITIONING SENSOR. IT IS UNDER MY IMPRESSION THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THIS. DOOR LATCH FAILURE WHILE MERGING ONTO FREEWAY. DOOR FLEW OPEN
ROUGH RIDE, HITS BUMPS HARD, MAKES NOISE
I WAS DRIVING AND MY VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN A YEAR THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE MOTOR THE FIRST TIME AND NOW THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN WHEN THE RECALL LETTER CLEARLY STATES IF ALL COMPONENTS NEED TO BE REPLACED INCLUDING THE STEERING COLUMN THAN THEY SHALL.
TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REBUILT WITH LESS THAN 100K MILES ON IT. THIS IS THE SAME TRANSMISSION THAT IS IN THE COLBALT, HHR, AND MALIBU. MY TRANSMISSION SHOP HAS A COLBALT AND MALIBU IN THE BAY WITH MY CAR, 10K LESS MILES THAN MINE, WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THE TRANSMISSION STARTS BY OVER REVING WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND 2ND TO 3RD. THERE IS NO CEL PRESENT. THEN THE CAR GETS A DRAG LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING A BRICK. TOOK CAR TO EAGLE TRANSMISSION (AFTER CHEVY HOUSE SAID FLUSH AND FILTER WOULD FIX THE ISSUE) AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. CHEVY REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER, ANY REVIEW OF ANY BOARD WILL SHOW THIS IS A HUGE ONGOING PROBLEM. MY MILAGE IS 98778
I KEEP HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY POWER STEERING GOING OUT AND IT'S GETTING MORE FREQUENT AS OF LATE. I DID SEE THAT RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR MODEL YEARS SURROUNDING MINE AND THE SAME YEAR IN OTHER VEHICLES MADE BY CHEVY. I ALSO SEE THAT I AM NOT ALONE AS OTHERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. I THINK CHEVY NEEDS TO LOOK AT THIS VEHICLE AGAIN AND CONSIDER DOING THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL THE 2008 CHEVY HHR POWER STEERING MOTOR AS WELL. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO ADDRESSED BECAUSE I HAVE HAD IT GO OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN AND NARROWLY MISSED A TREE TRYING TO TURN.
I STARTED SMELLING GAS INSIDE/OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE AFTER SHUTTING IT OFF. WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE THE EXHAUST SOUNDS ROUGH. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND FOUND THAT THE GAS LINES NEAR THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE ARE RUSTED AND HAVE ALSO DAMAGED MY EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHICH IS ALSO CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPUTTER WHEN ACCELERATING. BECAUSE THE PROBLEMS ARE DUE TO GM'S POOR JOB OF DESIGNING THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE THIS ISSUE SHOULD NOT BE THE VEHICLE OWNERS RESPONSIBILITY, IT SHOULD BE RECALLED.
OUR CAR HAD ENGINE TROUBLES WHERE IT KEPT SHIFTING BACK INTO NEUTRAL WHILE WE WERE TRYING TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN ON SIDE STREETS ON THE WAY HOME. WHILE DRIVING IT TO GET REPAIRED, THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING NOISE AND THE ENGINE BURST INTO FLAMES. THE FLAMES CONSUMED A LARGE PORTION OF THE CAR.
I AM ORIGINAL OWNER BOUGHT IN 2008. I HAVE 38080 MILES ON MY CAR AND HAVE TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK. AFTER FILLING MY TANK, I SMELLED GASOLINE FOR SEVERAL DAYS, WHEN MY GRANDSON WENT UNDERNEATH AND FELT THE TOP OF THE TANK AND FOUND IT LEAKING, FROM THE TOP CONNECTION. I AM HAVING IT REPLACED, @ SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS AND FEEL THIS IS A VERY UNUSUAL FOR AN 8 YEAR OLD CAR.
INTERMITTENT POWER STEERING FAILURES CAUSED BY OVERHEATING OR WORN ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR. POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL WHEN MID-TURN, AT NON-HIGHWAY SPEEDS, CAUSING STEERING TO REQUIRE MUCH MORE EFFORT TO WORK. VERY HIGH RISK FOR MID TURN COLLISIONS.

THERE ARE SEVERAL BLIND SPOTS IN THIS CAR MAKEING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE CARS ON THE SIDE OF YOU I HAVE BEEN ALMOST HIT 14 TIMES IN ONE DAY I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN ON CROSS WALK TO THE RIGHT SIDE THIS CAR IS SO DANGEROUS TO ME AND OTHERS THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE PULLED OF THE THE ROAD CAR WAS IN MOTION EACH TIME AND ON HIGHWAY AS WELL AS TOWN ROADS.
STEERING SHAFT U JOINT RUSTED AND BROKE IN DRIVE WAY

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V047000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
WHENEVER I AM DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL SUDDENLY LOCK UP FOR SEEMINGLY NO REASON. I CAN BE GO ANYWHERE FROM 35 MPH TO 70 MPH. IT'S CAUSED ME TO NEARLY GET INTO MULTIPLE WRECKS. I'M FORCED TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF THE CAR, AND TURN IT BACK ON AND THEN THE WHEEL IS PERFECTLY FINE AFTER. IT HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. I'M SCARED TO KEEP DRIVING THIS CAR BUT IT'S MY ONLY WAY TO WORK EVERY DAY. I HAVE NO CHOICE. MY CAR DEALERSHIP HAS SAID MANY HHR'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN THE PAST DUE TO POWER STEERING ISSUES. WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING, POWER STEERING FAILED, DASH INDICATOR CAME ON AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL WHILE IN THE INTERSECTION. LUCKILY SHE WAS ON A QUIET STREET WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE SAFELY, SHUT IT OFF, THEN RESTART. POWER STEERING WAS RESUMED AFTER RESTARTING. THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ANYTIME AND CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. RECALLS SHOW ON COBALT WHICH HAS SAME POWER STEERING FOR THIS MODEL YEAR, BUT NOT ON HHR. 2009 AND 2010 HHR HAVE RECALLS AS WELL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN, WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL TO REPAIR? MANY, MANY REPORTS ON THE INTERNET OF SAME PROBLEM.

BLEW OUT A TIRE,SPUN 180 DEGEES FACING ON COMING TRAFFIC,HEAD ON COLLISON WITH FORD PICK UP. HIGHWAY SPEED.AIR BAG DEPLOYED.MOTOR FOR DRIVERS SEAT APPARENTLY BROKE OFF AND DRIVERS SEAT SLID FORWARD ,PINNING DRIVERS LEGS BETWEEN SEAT AND BOTTOM OF DASH BOARD,RESULTING IN BREAKING BOTH FEMURS,RIGHT KNEE AND KNEE CAP WITH COMPOUND FEACTURES.SEAT MOTOR WAS FOUND IN FRONT FLOORBOARD , NEAR BRAKE PEDAL ,WITH PLASTIC MOUNTING EARS BROKEN OFF AND SCREWS STILL IN PLACE. SEAT APPEARS TO BE FURTHER FORWARD THAN SEAT ADJUSTMENT WOULD ALLOW.
WHEN I FIRST START MY CAR I CAN STEER AND THEN A POP NOISE HAPPENS AND POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND FUSE360 BLOWS AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING. IT IS WHEN STOPPED AND STEERING DOESNT MATTER WHICH..
THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR CAME OPEN WHILE DRIVING. THIS INCIDENT BEGAN WITH PASSENGER CHECKING BACK SEAT FOR AN ITEM. DOOR DIDN'T SOUND LIKE IT CLOSED ALL THE WHEN WHEN IT WAS SHUT. PASSENGER OPENED AND RECLOSED THE DOOR. AS I LEFT THAT LOCATION, I HEARD AIR BLOWING (OPEN WINDOW SOUND). CHECKING FOR AN OPEN WINDOW, I FOUND BACK SEAT PASSENGER DOOR OPEN. I PULLED OVER TO THE CURB AND TRIED TO SHUT THAT DOOR. IT WOULD NOT STAY SHUT. EVEN THE AAA AUTO CLUB ROADSIDE SERVICE WAS UNABLE TO GET THE DOOR TO STAY CLOSED. THAT LATCH WAS MOVABLE WITH FINGERS, NOT LIKE THE OTHERS, WHICH COULD NOT BE MOVED WITHOUT ACTUALLY USING SOMETHING TO ASSIST, I.E., SCREWDRIVER, DOOR HANDLE, ETC. TO GET HOME, AUTO CLUB USED A HEAVY RUBBER BUNGEE CORD FROM REAR SEAT PASSENGER HEADREST BEHIND THE DRIVER, THROUGH THE WINDOW ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR AND HOOKED ONTO THE LUGGAGE RACK ON THE TOP OF THE CAR.
STARTED SMELLING GAS SMELL WHEN WALKING UP TO VEHICLE AFTER SITTING...INCLUDING SMELL WITHIN THE CABIN. DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT RUSTED GAS LINES NEAR THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE AND SURE ENOUGH WHEN LOOKING THERE I COULD NOW SEE ON THE GROUND WHERE GAS WAS DRIPPING. THE LINES ARE PARTIALLY COVERED WITH WHAT SEEMS LIKE A HEAT SHIELD...YUP...MY GUESS WOULD BE BECAUSE THE HOT EXHAUST PIPE RUNS NEAR IT. THE HEAT SHIELD I BELIEVE SEEMS TO HOLD MOISTURE AGAINST THE LINES AND CONDENSATION AND I'M GUESSING IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE WHEN THE LINE IS NOW RUSTED THROUGH AND IS DRIPPING GAS NEAR THE EXHAUST PIPE. VERY POOR AND DANGEROUS DESIGN.

I CAN NEVER GET MY GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PARK WHEN IT'S COLD. I HAD THE ISSUE FIXED BUT IT STILL DOES IT. BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM,SINCE 2010

WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH THE OIL PUMP WENT WHICH THROUGH THE WHOLE ENGINE OFF BENT THE VALES WHICH CAUSED THE CHAIN TO SKIP OVER THE CAMS ALWAYS KEPT THE OIL CHANGED UP KEEP WAS ALWAYS GOOD ONLY 138.000 MILES NEVER BUY CHEVY AGAIN.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE CAR THE POWER STEELING LIGHT CAN ON AND THEN IT GOT HARDER TO TURN THE WHEEL.INKNOWN WHAT HAPPEN.THEN I WOULD PARK THE CAR AND CUT IT OFF AND THEN START DRIVING MORE AND THEN IT WOULD DO IT AGAIN.
SINCE2006 FUEL LINES CONTINUE TO ROT OUT SPRAYING FUEL ON EXHAUST

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTART AND IT RESUMED TO NORMAL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
I WAS DRIVING TO MY MOM'S HOME WHICH IS ABOUT A C4 MILES AWAY AND WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN THE STEERING GOT LOCK AND I COULD BARELY FINISH MAKE THE TURN AND I PARKED AND PUT MY EMERGENCY BLINKERS ON AND I TURND OFF THE CAR AND STARTED IT UP AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN GOING TO WORK MAKING A TURN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LINES WERE CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
WAS AT A STOP SIGN AND WENT TO CROSS THE HIGHWAY GOT HALFWAY ACROSS AND RELIED THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN LOOKED AT DASHBOARD AND EVERYTHING LOK NORMAL MADE IT ACROSS HIGHWAY SAFELY AND PULLED OVER ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE CAR PROCEEDED HOME TO FIND THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK WITH INTERIOR BUTTONS OR REMOTE THE REMOTE WILL TURN ON THE ALARM YOU CAN MANUALLY LOCK THE DOORS BUT YOU CAN'T LOCK THE HATCH UPDATE 9/15/15*CW
NO ONE CAN PINPOINT WHAT THE CAUSE IS, BUT MY POWER STEERING CUTS OFF SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPEN NUMEROUS TIMES. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND NOTED SEVERAL ARTICLES AND POSTINGS THAT DETAIL THE SAME PROBLEM WITH SIMILAR CARS IN THE HHR 2008. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. TREAD QUARTERS THINKS REPLACING ONE OF THE TIRES WOULD HELP, BUT IT HAS NOT. CHEVY NEEDS TO LOOK AT THIS ISSUE SINCE IT SEEMS MORE ELECTRICAL THAN ANYTHING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET HHR. WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FLASHED AND ALL OF THE SYSTEMS RESET. THE IGNITION HAD TO BE TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION AND BACK TO THE ON POSITION IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO START. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E021000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I COULD EASILY COMPLAIN ABOUT THE COOLING SYSTEM AS THIS COST ME ABOUT $1400 THIS MONTH DUE TO FIRST THE WATER PUMP GOING AND THEN A CHROME PIPE/HOSE THAT GOES ACROSS THE ENGINE ALSO RUSTING THROUGH...BUT BECAUSE I GUESS THAT WOULDN'T BE CONSIDERED A "DANGEROUS" ISSUE OTHER THAN POSSIBLY BEING STRANDED, THIS ENGINE RELATED COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO THE EXHAUST. THE CAR IS A 2008 AND TWICE THE EXHAUST "FLEX" HOSE WHICH IS JUST BEYOND THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND IN FRONT OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS HAS RUSTED AND DEVELOPED LEAKS. BECAUSE OF THE PROXIMITY OF THE PART CLOSE TO THE ENGINE, NOT ONLY DO THE EXHAUST FUMES RISE UP INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE LARGE DIESEL TRUCK. THE DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE ONLY THE FLEX HOSE AND WILL ONLY REPLACE THE ENTIRE PIPE BACK FROM THE MANIFOLD WHICH INCLUDES 2 CATALYTIC CONVERTERS FOR AROUND $2000. NOT ONLY IS THIS DANGEROUS FOR THE DRIVER/PASSENGER INHALING THE FUMES BUT IT'S ROBBERY TO THE CONSUMER AS THE CAR ISN'T EVEN WORTH THAT MUCH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TIGHT AND IT SHOOK AND VIBRATED. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN LEFT AND RIGHT AND WOULD REMAIN STRAIGHT. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER, RESTART IT, AND RESET THE COMPUTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,757.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD...I HEARD A DING AND THE "POWER STEERING" MESSAGE CAME UP ON THE DIC...IT WAS VERY HARD TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT....WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF....STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL.....BUT THE PROBLEM KEEPS COMING BACK AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND AT DIFFERENT TIMES..SOMETIMES IT MAY TAKE A DAY OR TWO BEFORE IT COMES BACK...BUT IT DOES COME BACK.....I'VE SEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY GOING 65 MPH & ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WENT ON &LOST POWER STEERING IMMEDIATELY! THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD ACCIDENT & WAS SCARY. IT WILL COST ME $500 OR MORE TO GET IT FIXED. ALSO, AT APPROX. 48,000 MILES THE BACK REAR DOOR LATCH BROKE & WOULD NOT OPEN, IT COST ME $125 TO REPLACE IT AS THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY TO FIX THIS. REAR PASSENGER DOOR OPENED AND HANDLE WOULD NOT LET PASSENGER OUT. I LOCKED AND UNLOCKED DOOR AND PASSENGER COULD MOVE HANDLE BUT NOT OPEN THE DOOR. I WENT TO THE DOOR AND TRIED TO OPEN AND THE EXTERIOR HANDLE WOULD NOT OPEN DOOR. TRIED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING WITH REMOTE, BUTTONS IN CAR AND MANUALLY TO NO AVAIL. I AM UNABLE TO GET GM OR MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP TO COMPLETE THE TWO OUTSTANDING SAFETY RECALLS IN A TIMELY MANOR. I'VE BEEN EXTREMELY PATIENT BUT THEY REFUSE TO ACCOMMODATE MY SIMPLE NEEDS. I'VE BEEN WORKING WITH CHEVY OF SOUTH ANCHORAGE (DEALERSHIP) SINCE 4/8/2015 ATTEMPTING TO SCHEDULE THE WORK FOR THE WEEKEND OR GET A LOANER CAR. THEY WERE UNABLE TO ACCOMMODATE MY NEEDS (A CAR WHILE MINE IS BEING REPAIRED OR A LOANER CAR). I CONTACTED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER ON 12/1/2016 AFTER REPEATEDLY BEING IGNORED OR LIED TO BY THE DEALERSHIP. FOR THE PAST THREE MONTH I'VE BEEN GETTING ABSOLUTELY NO HELP FROM CHEVROLET IN GETTING A APPOINTMENT FOR THE WEEKEND OR A LOANER CAR. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING THE CAR BUT HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET AND I WENT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN INTO MY DRIVEWAY. THAT IS WHEN IT FIRST STARTED ACTING UP. WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE STORE AND THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE DASH. I PULLED OVER AND MYSELF AND THE PASSENGER GOT OUT. THE NEXT SECOND OR TWO, FIRE STARTED ERUPTING FROM THE DASH. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED IMMEDIATELY. ABOUT 15 MINUTES PASSED AND THE CAR WAS TOTALLY ENGULFED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY CLAIMED IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE, AND THE CAR WAS TOTALED. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE HHR'S THAT HAD REMOTE START AND AUTOMATIC. THE WIRING HARNESS WAS THE BLAME. *TR
