THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY . THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW. I SAW TODAY ON THE NEWS THAT GM HAS RECALLED MANY VEHICLES FOR AIR BAG PROBLEMS HOWEVER, AFTER USING THIS SITE MY VEHICLE IS NOT SHOWING RECALLED. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
AIRBAG SYSTEM SERVICE IS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD HOWEVER ALL THE SENSORS WERE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES AS LONG AS IT SAYS SERVICE AIRBAGS THE SYSTEM IS NOT ACTIVE NOR WORKING SO A CRASH IS GUARANTEED TO KILL YOU AND THE SEATBELT RETRACTION SYSTEM IS ALSO AFFECTED IT EXTENDS FINE BUT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH IT WILL NOT LOCK EVEN UNDER HARD BRAKING THIS SAME PROBLEM EXISISTS SO IF IT WONT LOCK YOU WILL FEEL THE STEERING WHEEL ON YOUR FACE AND CHEST I HAVE MADE A CHEVY DEALER AWARE OF THIS BUT THEY SAID DONT WORRY THE SYSTEM WILL WORK FINE IGNORE THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY DRIVING THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MATTER SYSTEM HAS A FLAW IN IT AND GM WONT FIX IT
KNOW PROBLEM ON CONNECTORS TO AIR BAGS GIVES 2 CODES B0019-0D AND B0010-04 STATES THAT THIS KNOW PROBLEM CAN STOP DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAGS. UPON LOOKING PROBLEM UP THIS IS VERY COMMON ON THIS CAR AND THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS OF IT. THIS IS SAFETY AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY THEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.
TAKATA RECALL 4/11/2018 PURCHASED CAR. DEALER DID A SAFTEY INSPECTION ON THIS USED HHR .IN MY DRIVE HOME ON EXPRESSWAY AIR BAG LITE CAME ON @ 59 MILES DRIVEN AFTER THE PURCHASE. I CHECKED AND NOW SEE THERE ARE TONS OF ISSUED COMPLAINTS ON THE LT HHR MODEL. PLEASE RESPOND
FIRST MY AIRBAG SYSTEM STARTED COMING ON SAYING SERVICE AIRBAGS AND THE SENSORS ARE ALL NEW, SECOND THE SERVICE ESC COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY CAUSING VEHICLE TO SHIFT EXTREMELY HARD FROM 1ST GEAR (AUTOMATIC TRANNY) BRAKING SYSTEM WAS WORKING FINE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR NO BRAKES AND THE FLUID IS FULL AND THE SYSTEM WAS WORKING JUST FINE AFTER MAKING GM AWARE OF THIS THEIR RESPONSE TO IT ALL IS THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BUT THIS WAS AN ISSUE FROM DATE OF MFG AND GM REFUSES TO FIX OR CORRECT THE ONGOING ISSUES ALL OF THESE THINGS HAVE HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IF NHTSA CANT HELP WITH THIS ISSUE THEN I HAVE NO WHERE LEFT TO TURN EXCEPT EITHER TO A MORGUE OR A SCRAP YARD
THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2016 & WAS GAVE TO ME VIA MY GRANDPAS WILL AFTER HE PASSED AWAY IN JULY 2016. THE CAR NEVER RAN CORRECTLY & IT WAS PARKED FOR A TOTAL OF 9 MONTHS, WHILE GETTING WORKED ON IN THE MEANTIME. IVE PUT ALMOST 1000 INTO THIS CAR & REPLACED EVERY PART IT NEEDED. NOW THE CAR WONT START & SHOWS THE AIR BAG ICON IS ALWAYS ON WHILE THE CAR TELLS ME THAT MY ECS IS "OFF" & SERVICE ECS. I OWN THE VEHICLE & IT IS PAID OFF.
THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT DON'T KNOW IF IT'S A BAD FUSE OR SENSOR I WAS SITTING STILL WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON CAUSING THE AIRBAG NOT ABLE TO OPERATE. BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL IT DID HAVE ISSUES WITH THE WIRING STATING IT WAS CORRODED. IT COST A LOT OF MONEY TO HAVE THESE DEFECTS CORRECTED AND WAS TOLD NO SUCH RECALLS EXIST ON THE AIRBAG.
THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT KEPT APPEARING. IT WOULD BE ON FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN GO OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD APPEAR. THE LIGHT DESIGNATING SEAT BELT USE FOR THE PASSENGER WOULD NOT ISSUE A WARNING SOUND AND SOMETIMES WOULD NOT COME ON EVEN IF SOMEONE WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY TIME WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED ON. THIS HAS BEEN VERIFIED BY A CHEVY DEALER, BUT THEY SAY SINCE MY CAR IS NOT ONE OF THE VINS BEING RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THEY HAVE OFFERED ME A RECONCILIATION DEAL FOR A LESSER DOLLAR AMOUNT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CAUSING HER TO CRASH INTO A SECOND VEHICLE. THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDER 3 SAFETY RECALLS WITH GM. WHEN I CONTACTED GM TO INQUIRE ABOUT A POSSIBLE LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL IT CAN BE REPAIRED, I WAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIPS WERE AUTHORIZED TO PROVIDE LOANER VEHICLES. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY STATED THAT THEY WERE ONLY PROVIDING LOANER VEHICLES FOR THOSE WHOSE CARS WERE INOPERABLE. WHEN I CONTACTED GM FOR CLARIFICATION ON THIS, THEY STATED THAT LOANER VEHICLES ARE AVAILABLE FOR THOSE CARS UNDER SAFETY RECALLS, OF WHICH MY CAR IS INCLUDED, AND SENT ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP STILL REFUSES TO PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE AND GM IS NOT ASSISTING, JUST SENDING ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS CAR IS UNDER RECALLS IN WHICH THERE WERE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS INVOLVED. THERE IS NO WAY I AM DRIVING THIS CAR. CAN YOU HELP WITH THIS SITUATION? *TR

THE APPROXIMATE SPEED AT THE TIME OF FAILURE WAS 40 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. MY SEAT BELT CONTINUED TO GET STUCK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF MY HHR. (WHAT IF I WERE TO HAVE HAD A WRECK AND COULDN'T GET OUT?) TOOK VEHICLE INTO A DEALERSHIP MONDAY 4/29/2013 EVENING AROUND 5 TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING STUCK ETC. WITH THE BUCKLE ITSELF. SERVICE WRITER LOOKED AT IT AND MANAGED TO GET IT STUCK AND FROM THEN I COULD NOT GET THE BUCKLE UNBUCKLED SO THEREFORE I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE AROUND SITTING ON MY SEAT BELT. THE SERVICE WRITER DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE MECHANISM IN THE BUCKLE ITSELF CAUSING THE SEAT BELT TO GET STUCK. SINCE MY WARRANTY IS UP BECAUSE I AM OVER 14,000 MILES I AM HAVING TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THIS ITEM. THE CAR IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD HAS NEVER HAD A WRECK NOR HAVE I SPILLED ANYTHING OR DONE DAMAGE TO THIS BUCKLE. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT AND PAID FOR BY CHEVY. CARS FROM THE 60'S AND 70'S STILL HAVE THEIR ORIGINAL BUCKLES SO THEREFORE WHY AM I HAVING TO REPLACE ONE THAT IS 3 YEARS OLD?! I ALSO CALLED AROUND TO WRECKING YARDS TO POSSIBLY LOCATE THE PART AND COME TO FIND OUT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS ISSUE BECAUSE THE GUY AT THE SHOP KNEW EXACTLY THE PART I WAS LOOKING FOR AND WHICH SIDE I WAS LOOKING FOR AS SOON AS I SAID HHR. *TR
