AT LOW SPEEDS IN A SHARP TURN AND/OR ON BUMPY ROADS AND SOMETIMES DURING BREAKING AT HIGH SPEED, I NOTICE A RATTLE IN THE STEERING COLUMN. I TOLD THE DEALER THAT I THOUGHT MY FRONT ROTORS MAY BE WORN BUT THEY CHECKED OUT OK. I THINK ITS THE ELECTRIC STEERING COLUMN BOX WITH A WORN NYLON BUSHING THE SAME AS THE G6 STEERING PROBLEMS. BECAUSE MY MILEAGE WENT OVER 36000 AND THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT INITIALLY DIAGNOSED AS A STEERING PROBLEM AND NOT BEING A POWER TRAIN PROBLEM, CHEVY INDICATED THAT ITS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. MY PARENTS HAVE AN 07 HHR THAT IS HAVING OVERHEATING ISSUES IN THEIR POWER-STEERING, ALONG WITH THE BACK LASHING IN THE COLUMN CAUSED BY, I THINK, THE NYLON BUSHING GOING BAD. *TR
EXPERIENCED SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHEN ENTERING FREEWAY ONRAMP. WARNING CHIMES SOUNDED, DASH MESSAGE READS TRAC CONTROL. ROAD CONDITIONS BARE AND DRY. CODE C0280. DEALER REPLACED YAW RATE SENSOR. *TR
SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE AS A RENTAL RETURN, THERE HAVE BEEN REPEATED INCIDENTS WHERE THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) ACTIVATES WHILE TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON DRY PAVEMENT AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15 AND 30 MPH. THE VEHICLE BRIEFLY LOSES STEERING AND PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHILE BRAKE IS INVOLUNTARILY ACTIVATED. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING, THE CAR CONTINUES NORMALLY. FORTUNATELY, THIS HAS NOT YET CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALER HAS VARIOUSLY ATTRIBUTED THE PROBLEM TO MISMATCHED TIRES (REPLACED WITH ALL NEW), BAD HUBS (BOTH REPLACED), BAD SPEED SENSORS (REPLACED), BAD ALIGNMENT (FIXED) AND A WRONGLY CALIBRATED STEERING POSITION SENSOR (RE-CALIBRATED). THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TOWED, REPAIRED REPEATEDLY, AND THE PROBLEM IS BACK AGAIN. THIS NEEDS TO BE ELEVATED TO A RECALL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE THE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 40-45 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ON THE SIDE AND FRONT. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ONE PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP BUT DUE TO THE CRASH, THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER SHUT DOWN AND THE KEY COULD NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,500.
I HAD ANOTHER CAR PULL PARTIALLY OUT OF A DRIVEWAY INTO THE PATH OF MY 2010 HHR LT AND THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND THE OTHER VEHICLE TO STOP . THERE WAS ANOTHER CAR IN THE OTHER LANE TRAVELING TOWARDS ME BUT THERE WAS ENOUGH SPACE WHERE I COULD GET AROUND THE CAR THAT PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND BE OUT OF THE WAY OF THE CAR IN THE OTHER LANE, BUT WHEN I TURNED THE WHEEL RAPIDLY TO THE LEFT AND TRIED TO SPEED UP THE STABILITY CONTROL CAME ON AND WOULD NOT ALLOW MY 2010 HHR TO GAIN SPEED ALMOST RESULTING IN A HEAD ON WRECK. *TR
WENT TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND IT WOULD NOT SHUT OFF REMOVED FUSES TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY REPLACED THE SWITCH AND IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. *TR
THREE WEEKS AGO MY 2007 CHEVY HHR BEGAN NOT SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. IT TAKES AT LEAST 10 MINUTES EACH TIME I GET IN MY CAR TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING. NOW THE ONLY WAY I GET IT OUT OF PARK IS TO TURN TO KEY FORWARD AND PRESS ON THE BRAKE AND PUSH IN THE BUTTON ON THE SHIFTER. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES IT WILL FINALLY GO INTO GEAR. I NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND IF SO MANY PEOPLE ARE DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUE WHY ISN'T THERE ANY HELP OUT THERE FROM THE MANUFACTURER OR A RECALL TO FIX THIS? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET HHR LT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD FAIL TO START INTERMITTENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD SLIP GEARS WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE EXACT CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,998 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,572.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BEGAN TO FLUCTUATE ABNORMALLY AS THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO JUMP WHILE SHIFTING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE SPORADIC FAILURE FOUR TIMES WHERE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE, LUBRICATED THE HIGH SPEED LAND MODULAR CONNECTORS AND REPLACED THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE, ALL TO NO AVAIL. THE FOURTH VISIT TO THE DEALER, PER THE MANUFACTURER, THE DEALER WAS ADVISED NOT TO PERFORM ANY FURTHER REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT BECAUSE THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 277 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,345.
CHEVY HHR VEHICLE. DANGEROUS WINDOW DEFECT. WINDOWS IMPLODE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. SHODDY WORKMANSHIP ON THE WINDOW SEALS. WERE TRAVELING IN PORTLAND DOWN HIGHWAY 05 WHEN THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW JUST IMPLODED FOR NO REASON. GLASS WAS THROWN ALL OVER THE CAR. IF THERE HAD BEEN A PASSENGER SITTING THERE THEY COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT OR BLINDED BY FLYING GLASS. THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED UNTIL THIS PROBLEM WITH THE WINDOWS IS FIXED. *TR
LOST TIRE PRESSURE IN ONE TIRE (RIGHT REAR) IN BRAND NEW VEHICLE AFTER 100 MILES DRIVING DUE TO IMPROPERLY INSTALLED AIR VALVE WITH TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM SENSOR ATTACHED TO TIRE AIR VALVE. TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM ALERTED DRIVER TO A SUDDEN LOSS OF PRESSURE. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO A TIRE REPAIR SHOP AFTER CHANGING TO SPARE TIRE. TIRE REPAIR PERSON FOUND NO LEAKS IN TIRE, AND UPON DIS-MOUNTING THE TIRE DISCOVERED THE TIRE AIR VALVE WAS NOT PROPERLY SEATED. AFTER PROPERLY INSTALLING THE AIR VALVE AND REMOUNTING THE WHEEL ON THE VEHICLE, THE TIRE HAD NO FURTHER LEAKAGE UNTIL THE END OF THE RENTAL WHEN WE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE RENTAL AGENCY, AT 2600 MILES. VEHICLE IS A RENTAL VEHICLE; ONE OF MANY IDENTICAL RECENTLY DELIVERED TO RENTAL CAR AGENCY. COMPLAINANT WAS A RENTER, NOT THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE MANUAL IDENTIFIES THE VEHICLE AS A 2011 MODEL YEAR VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET HHR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE WITH REDUCED POWER. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 40 MPH WITH THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING 45 MPH AND UP, THERE WAS A VERY HIGH NOISE LEVEL IN THE INTERIOR CABIN. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO EXHIBIT THE NOISE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,300.
I WAS TURNING LEFT AT A DUEL LEFT TURN LANES, I WAS ON THE OUT SIDE, AS I TURNED AND ACCELERATED TO 35 THE BIG RED TRUCK ON THE INSIDE LANE CAME INTO MY LANE OF TRAVEL. AS I SAW THIS BIG RED TRUCK GOING ACROSS MY HOOD I TRIED TO STOP AND DOWN SHIFT WHEN THE LEFT FRONT TIRE SKIDDED AND THE CAR JERKED TO THE LEFT AND THE CAR AND TRUCK MET. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE LIGHTS SUDDENLY ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT AN ELECTRONIC PROBLEM CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 550. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 470.
CONSUMER IS UNHAPPY WITH GENERAL MOTORS. *GR THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE DID NOT COME EQUIPPED WITH A SPARE TIRE, JACK OR LUG WRENCH. THE CONSUMER STATED HE SPECIFICALLY ASKED ABOUT THE SPARE TIRE AND THE SALESMAN STATED ONE WAS PROVIDED. THE CONSUMER STATED HE DID NOT PERSONALLY CHECK AT THE TIME. TWO TO THREE WEEKS LATER AFTER THE PURCHASE, THE CONSUMER WANTED TO CHECK THE PRESSURE IN THE SPARE TIRE ONLY TO DISCOVER THERE WAS NO SPARE TIRE IN THE SPARE TIRE STORAGE AREA. INSTEAD, HE FOUND A TIRE SEALANT AND INFLATOR KIT. *JB
