WHEN I AM COMING FROM A STOP AND BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE AT MODERATE RATE BETWEEN 5-25 MILES MY CAR JERKS VERY HARD. THE FEELING IS SOMETIMES TO THE POINT IT FEELS AS IF I HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER CAR. THE FEELING IS VERY FORCEFUL AND IT FEELS AS IF IT BEGINS IN UNDER THE REAR SEATS AND THE REAR TIRES. IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES MAYBE ONCE OR TWICE A DAY AND OTHER TIMES EVERYTIME I PRESS THE GAS UPON COMING OUT OF A COMPLETE STOP AND SOMETIMES IT DOES THIS FORCEFUL JERK/THUMP/SHRUG CONSECUTIVELY AS I COME OUT OF THE COMPLETE STOP AND THEN AS I ACCELERATE A LITTLE MORE. HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO CERTIFIED GM SERVICE CENTERS ON 3 OCCASIONS AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM. AND AFTER THE LAST VISIT THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I AM CONCERNED AS WHAT TO DO. AND THE PROBLEM IS PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE. IT HAPPENS DAILY AND ON MOST OCCASIONS EVERYTIME I STOP. *TR
THE TIRES ARE WEARING TERRIBLY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A ALIGNMENT OR SUSPENSION PROBLEM BECAUSE THE TIRES WEAR ON THE INSIDE . THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN ACCIDENT IN THIS CAR. THE REAR TIRES SEEM TO BE THE ISSUE. ABOUT A YEAR AND 1/2 AGO, I BOUGHT VERY EXPENSIVE 80,000 MILE TIRES TOP OF THE LINE UNKNOWINGLY THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT. THE TIRES WERE COMPLETELY TRASHED- THE WIRES WERE STICKING OUT OF THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE WHEN I BROUGHT THEM INTO MY TIRE DEALERSHIP. THE MANAGER THERE TOLD ME TO CHECK ON A POSSIBLE RECALL BECAUSE HE SEES THIS HAPPENING WITH ALL THE 2007 CHEVY IMPALAS THAT HE WORKS ON. I AM AFRAID THAT IT COULD CAUSE A ACCIDENT OR WORSE..... *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE VEHICLE HAS GOODYEAR INTEGRITY, SIZE 175/70R13 TIRES. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH IN THE SNOW, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLIDE. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED IN WET AND ICY CONDITIONS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT SPECIFY THE REASON. THE DOT NUMBER, VIN, ENGINE SIZE, AND NUMBER OF CYLINDERS WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 25,000.
REAR ALIGNMENT NOT WITHIN SPECS FROM FACTORY, CAUSED REAR TIRES TO WEAR OUT PREMATURELY. FRONT DISK BRAKE ROTORS AND BRAKES UNREPAIRABLE AT 11,000 MILES. CHEVROLET WOULD NOT COVER REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY. *TR

I OWN A 2007 CHEVY IMPALA THAT WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE STEERING WHEEL SHUDDERS. THIS HAPPENS AFTER MODERATE TO HEAVY BRAKING OR DURING DOWN-HILL BRAKING. THE DRIVER GETS A SENSE OF LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND TENDS TO REDUCE BRAKING WHICH MAY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. *TR
COMPLAINT: REAR WHEELS LINKAGE WAS DESIGNED SO THAT THE "CAMBER" CANNOT BE ADJUSTED. THE REAR TIRES WEAR AGRESSFULLY ON THE INBOARD EDGES TO A POINT THAT THEY ARE BALD WHILE THE OUTSIDE, WHICH IS VISIBLE, APPEARS TO BE GOOD. THE REAR TIRES BECOME UNSAFE, WITH A WEAR RATE THAT ONLY LAST ABOUT 15,000 MILES. I AM ON MY 5TH SET OF TIRES WITH THE CAR MILEAGE AT 66,000. GM WAS AWARE OF THIS CONDITION IN 2008, BUT THEY ISSUED A TSB (08032A) TO CORRECT ONLY "POLICE CARS" AND DID NOT REPAIR OR LET OTHER PRIVATE CUSTOMERS KNOW ABOUT THIS. MY CAR SERIAL NUMBER IS LISTED UNDER THE ONES ON THE TSB. THIS CONDITION ALSO CREATES A PROBLEM WHEN OPERATING THE CAR IN WET AND SLIPPERY ROADS, SINCE THE REAR TRACKING IS NOT THE SAME AS THE FRONT TIRES. THE CAR TENDS TO WHIP FROM SIDE TO SIDE, AN OPERATORS CAN LOOSE CONTROL. THE PARTS USED BY GM ARE THE SAME AS ON POLICE VEHICLES AS PERSONAL CARS. THEY CLAIMED A PROBLEM, BUT FOR SOME REASON DENY ANY ISSUES ON A PERSONAL CAR! GM DEALERS REFUSE TO EVEN SPLIT THE COST, AND GM WILL NOT CORRECT MY ISSUE.
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY IMPALA. IT IS USED AS A POLICE CAR FOR MY LOCAL COUNTY. SINCE GETTING THE CAR IN MAY OF 2007, THE STEERING WHEEL HAS LOCKED 4 TIMES WHILE TURNING A CORNER. THE CAR HAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING VS. HYDRAULIC LIKE MOST CARS. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT, I NEARLY STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER. THE WHEEL LOCKS ANYWHERE FROM 2-4 SECONDS, THEN IT FINALLY RELEASES. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STATED THEY HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO THIS ON SOME OF CHEVY'S OTHER MODELS WITH ELECTRIC STEERING. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT THIS WEEK TO GET THE PROBLEM LOOKED AT. HOWEVER I FEEL THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER, AND APPARENTLY IT IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. *TR
WE HAVE TWO CHEVY IMPALAS AND BOTH HAVE LESS THEN 25,000 MILES. THEY BOTH HAD ALIGNMENTS, BOTH WENT THROUGH TWO SETS OF TIRES, BOTH WENT THROUGH TWO SETS OF BRAKES AND ROTORS AND ONE ALREADY NEEDED A BATTERY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHENEVER THE CONTACT APPLIES THE BRAKES WHILE DRIVING DOWNHILL, SHE HEARS A THUMPING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 29,000. GOODYEAR INTEGRITY 225/60R16 TIRE GOT FLAT TIRE FROM SMALL PLASTIC DEBRIS. WHEN TIRE WAS REPAIRED IT WAS POINTED OUT THE TIRE IS OVER HALF WORN AT JUST BARELY 9,000 MILES. TIRE IF KEPT ON VEHICLE WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT BEFORE 17,000 MILES. ALSO TIRE HANDLES POORLY IN ALL CONDITIONS. VERY LOOSE HANDLING AND EXCESSIVE TIRE NOISE ON CORNERS EVEN AT SLOW SPEEDS. *TR
2007 CHEVY IMPALA ABSOLUTELY SUCKS ON ANY AMOUNT OF SNOW. REAR END FISHTAILS LEFT AND RIGHT AS IF IT HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND UNSAFE!! *TR
(1) MY WIFE PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AT OUR CHURCH AND APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP. (2) THE CAR CONTINUED ON ROLLING OVER A CONCRETE BARRIER AND KNOCKING DOWN AN ORNAMENTAL IRON FENCE SURROUNDING THE PARKING LOT AND CONTINUING OUT INTO THE STREET WHERE IT FINALLY STOPPED. IN ADDITION TO THE DAMAGE TO THE FENCE, THERE WAS CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR. (3) CAUSE OF FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED. ON ONE OR TWO PREVIOUS OCCASIONS, WHEN PULLING THE CAR INTO OUR GARAGE I HAVE HAD THE CAR STALL AND THEN SURGE FORWARD. CAR IS BEING TAKEN TO A BODY SHOP TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE. *TR
WHEN BUYING THE CAR NOTICE THAT THE DRIVER SEAT HEATER WOULD GO OFF AFTER A SHORT TIME ON THE ROAD AND WOULD SLIGHTLY WARM UP AND WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. ACTS LIKE THERE IS A SHORT SOME WHERE. THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT, SO I ENDED UP BUYING THE CAR. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO THE DEALER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY CAME TO A DECISION TO REPLACE THE PART THAT IS UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT. (THIS WAS AFTER WE HAD TO TALK TO THE SERVICE MANAGER). THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM ITS DOING THE SAME THING. HAVE NOT TOOK THE CAR BACK IN AS OF YET BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL LIKE GETTING THE RUN AROUND AGAIN BECAUSE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT A WIRING PROBLEM. DID SEND IN THEIR SERVICE SATISFACTION CARD WITH THE COMMENTS THAT IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. AS OF TODAY I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A RESPONSE TO THIS CARD. ITS BEEN AT LEAST A MONTH SINCE MAILING THE CARD. *TR
WHEN IT RAINS THE FRONT WHEEL WELLS ARE EXTREMELY LOUD. IT OCCURRED EVERYTIME IT RAINS ONCE THE TIRES WERE WORN DOWN. I WENT BACK TO THE PURCHASE PLACE AND HAD THEIR MECHANICS LOOK AT IT AND THEN I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC NEITHER OF WHICH FOUND ANYTHING. I HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES AFTER 6 MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE AND THE REAR TIRES 3 MONTHS LATER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE DEALER TURNED THE ROTORS TWO TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WILL BE NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND ON-BOARD COMPUTER ISSUES STARTED OCCURRING: TIRE MONITOR SYSTEM (TPMS) IN-OP. WARNINGS RANDOMLY APPEARING IN DASH: CHECK TIRE MONITOR SYSTEM. CHECK LEFT/RIGHT REAR TIRE PRESSURE. TPMS DID NOT WARN OF A FLAT TIRE EVEN THOUGH A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF AIR WAS LOST. INCREASING NO. OF ISSUES WITH ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: KEYLESS ENTRY FAILS. CHECK AIRBAG WARNING APPEARS. CHECK A/C WARNING IN DASH. AMBIENT TEMPERATURE GAUGE ERRATIC. COMPASS SHOWING N (OR NE/NW BUT ALWAYS INCORRECT HEADING). CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT RESUME AT TIMES OR SET INCORRECT SPEED (A FEW M/H HIGHER OR LOWER). SPEED HAS INCREASED ON ITS OWN. ONCE, I NOTICED THE SPEED AT OVER 80M/H WHEN I HAD SET THE CRUISE CONTROL AT 70. DASH DISPLAYING WARNINGS QUICKLY AND YELLOW WARNING LIGHTS FLASH BRIEFLY, WHICH IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING AND WARNINGS CANNOT BE READ. TPMS LIGHT COMES ON ROUTINELY AFTER DRIVING FOR 1-3 HOURS. WARNINGS MAY FLASH AT ANY TIME. TOOK THE VEHICLE IN SIX TIMES AT THE REQUEST OF GM. SOME PARTS WERE REPLACED BUT ELECTRICAL ISSUES KEEP INCREASING AND ORIGINAL ISSUES CANNOT BE FIXED. KEYLESS ENTRY WORKING FOR NOW, AFTER COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED TWICE. E-BRAKE DID NOT WORK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THOUGH PROMISED BY DELIVERY, CAR HAD TO BE TAKEN IN FIVE TIMES FOR E-BRAKE TO WORK MODESTLY. I AM NOT IN POSSESSION OF ANY OLD PARTS AS REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA LTZ 17K I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. I WAS ABOUT TO EXIT AND I HEARD A LOUD POP AND GLASS FELL ALL OVER ME. I LOOKED AND SAW ABOUT A 2 FOOT HOLE IN MY SUNROOF (THE SHADE WAS OPEN). I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND CALLED THE POLICE. I WAS NOT NEAR AN OVERPASS, IT WAS NIGHT, NO CARS WERE AROUND. I DID NOT FIND AN OBJECT AROUND THE CAR OR IN THE CAR. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL DETERMINED THAT IT WAS NOT AN ASSAULT (SOMETHING WAS NOT THROWN AT THE CAR). I CALLED GM AND THEY REFERRED ME TO MY DEALER. I DROPPED THE CAR OFF TODAY BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS VERY DOUBTFUL IT WOULD BE COVERED. HE KEPT INSISTING IT WAS A ROCK. THE STRANGE SIGNS THOUGH ARE THAT MY SUNROOF EXPLODED OUTWARD. THE GLASS IS CLEAR BUBBLED OUTWARD AND THE SHARDS STICK UP OUT OF THE CAR. I TOOK PICTURES OF THIS. I RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY (ALTHOUGH NOT MY VEHICLE) BEFORE. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THEY WOULD FIND THE IMPACT POINT AND SHOW ME WHEN THEY DID (HE ACTUALLY ASSUMED IT WAS A ROCK BEFORE EVEN LOOKING) BUT HE COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE OUTWARD GLASS PATTERN (EXCEPT TO SAY CRAZY THINGS HAPPEN WITH GLASS). HE LATER ADMITTED THAT HE HAD SEEN THIS BEFORE BUT NEVER ON AN IMPALA ONLY ON A CORVETTE AND THAT WAS A DEFECT. HE SAID IF THIS WAS A DEFECT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REPORTED. I TOLD HIM I WAS GOING TO REPORT THIS TO THE NHTSA BUT HE TOLD ME THAT GM WOULD DO THAT. AT THIS POINT THEY ARE INVESTIGATING ALTHOUGH HE SAID HE WAS VERY DOUBTFUL THAT ANYONE FROM GM WOULD COME OUT AND THAT I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO GO THROUGH MY INSURANCE. HE SAID IT IS COVERED IN FLORIDA WITH NO DEDUCTIBLE. LOOKED INTO THAT AND IT IS NOT TRUE, SUNROOFS ARE NOT COVERED. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT. THIS CAR IS ONLY A YEAR OLD. THE VIOLENT WAY THIS SHATTERED WITH NO ONE AROUND AND THE ACTUAL BOWING OUT OF THE GLASS AND ALL THE GLASS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR IS PRETTY STRONG PROOF. I HAD A FEW CUTS, BUT HAD I NOT BEEN MORE ALERT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. THE GEAR WAS PLACED IN PARK AT THE TIME. HER ARM WAS TANGLED IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND SHE WAS KNOCKED TO THE GROUND AND DRAGGED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE FINALLY CAME TO A STOP IN THE STREET. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES AND SCRAPES ON HER RIGHT FOOT AS WELL AS HER LEFT KNEE DOWN TO HER ANKLE. HER HIPS AND BACK ARE STILL HURTING FROM BEING KNOCKED DOWN. SHE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 9,942.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES WOULD SQUEAK VERY LOUDLY WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE LUBRICATED AND SHOULD BE FINE. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER PLACED AIR INTO THE TIRE AND THE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED; THEREFORE, IT WAS REPLACED AND RECALIBRATED. THE CONTACT THEN BEGAN TO HEAR A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BRACKET FOR THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD MALFUNCTIONED AND WAS REPAIRED. THE LATCH MECHANISM ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR MALFUNCTIONED AND CAUSED THE DOOR TO SHAKE RAPIDLY WHILE IN MOTION. THE DEALER REPLACED THE DOOR LATCH. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, HE SUDDENLY DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AVOID A CRASH ON THE INTERSTATE. THE DRIVER'S SEAT BRACKET SNAPPED AND THREW THE CONTACT BACKWARDS INTO THE REAR SEAT. THE PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE GRABBED THE STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID A CRASH. THE CONTACT WAS COMPLETELY DISPLACED FROM THE NORMAL DRIVING POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT MADE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN AGAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,932.
FRONT ROTORS ARE WARPED AT 22,000 MILES ON THE CAR. IT APPEARS THAT THE ROTORS ARE EITHER UNDERSIZE, MADE OF POOR STEEL, AND OR IMPORTED FROM CHINA. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE ROTORS TO HAVE FAILED AND BE RESURFACED. AS A MECHANIC THIS CONDITION CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE UNDER HIGHWAY SPEED BRAKING TO A STOP. MY WIFE THOUGHT IT WAS THE ROAD BUT INSTEAD IT WAS A ROTOR SHIMMY. I THOUGHT THE CAR WAS GOING TO SHIMMY APART AND BRAKE STEERING TIE ROD LINKS AT THE TIME IT HAPPENED. THERE WAS NO WAY I WAS GOING TO LET UP ON THE BRAKE OR I WOULD HAVE HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. INSTEAD I RODE OUT THE VIOLENT SHIMMY AND GRINDING SOUNDS COMING FROM THE FRONT END. THE CONCERN I HAVE IS THAT OTHER PEOPLE WOULD NOT IDENTIFY THE SHIMMY FOR WHAT IT IS LIKE MY WIFE DID AND THINK IT WAS THE ROAD. I FEEL THAT IF THE ROAD WAS WET I WOULD HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. *TR

WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF LEASING A 07 IMPALA, THERE HAS BEEN THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY TIRE HAS LOST ALL AIR PRESSURE WHILE PARKED WITHIN HOURS. 1ST INSTANCE: BETWEEN 10 A.M. AND 1 P.M. THE TIRE LOST AIR TO WHERE THE RIM WAS TOUCHING THE GROUND. 2ND INSTANCE: LOST 1/2 OF AIR OVERNIGHT - AGAIN THE RIM TOUCHED THE GROUND. I HAD PEP BOYS AND THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I AM LEASING THE VEHICLE EXAMINE THE TIRE AND BOTH SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TIRE AND IT WAS PROBABLY SOMEONE LETTING THE AIR OUT OF THE TIRE. THIRD INSTANCE: I LEFT MY VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT AND WOKE UP TO THE RIM TOUCHING THE GROUND. THIS RULED OUT SOMEONE LETTING THE AIR OUT OF THE TIRE. I AGAIN TOOK IT TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP WHO I AM LEASING THROUGH, AND ONCE AGAIN, I WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TIRE. *TR

THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT APPEARS ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR REPAIR AND THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE ON TWO OCCASIONS AFTER THE SERVICE WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTACT IS AWARE OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. WE PURCHASED OUR 2007 CHEVY IMPALA BRAND NEW JANUARY 07. SINCE THEN WITHIN A YEAR WE HAVE ALREADY REPLACED 2 TIRES THAT WERE BARE ON THE OUTSIDE PART OF THE TIRE. THE TIRE MONITOR SERVICE ALWAYS POPS ON THE DISPLAY SAYING TIRE PRESSURE OFF ALMOST DAILY. WE'VE TAKEN IT BACK TO OUR CHEVY DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR THEM TO CHECK. THEY HAVE RE-SET THIS MONITORING THING SEVERAL TIMES, RE-ALIGNED THE CAR, REPLACED 2 TIRES (AT OUR EXPENSE). RIGHT AFTER THIS LAST TIME WE TOOK IT IN, THE NEXT DAY THE WARNING POPPED UP SAYING RIGHT REAR TIRE PRESSURE WAS AT 58!, I THOUGHT MY TIRE WAS GOING TO BLOW UP. PARKED IT TO GO INTO BUSINESS, WITHIN ABOUT 20 MIN CAME OUT AND STARTED AND TIRE WAS NORMAL? SEVERAL TIMES THE LIGHT FLASHES "TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM SERVICE SOON" IT RIDES VERY BUMPY EVEN AFTER REPLACING BAD TIRES AND RE-ALIGNING. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR IN OVER AND OVER AND STILL NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. I'M SORRY BUT THIS IS ONE OUT OF SEVERAL GM VEHICLES WE'VE HAD, AND GM IS TERRIBLE AT TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS WHEN IT COMES TO PROBLEMS. THIS CAR HAS 34,000 MILES ON IT, WARRANTY ENDING SOON, WE ARE NOW TRYING TO GET RID OF IT BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS ALREADY WITH THE TIRES, ETC. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR AND CONSTANTLY THE TIRE MONITOR FLASHES PRETTY MUCH EVERY DAY, THEN SHUT IT OFF, SOMETIMES IT GOES OFF, SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. 2007 IMPALA LS PURCHASED MAY 31,2007, DEFECTIVE STEERING WHEEL SHAFT REPLACED AT 4573 MILES ON OCT 1, 2007. BINDING NOISE NOTED, CLUNKING SOUND ON BUMPS AND TURNS LEFT OR RIGHT. SAME CONDITIONS ARE APPEARING AGAIN JUNE 16, 2008 AT 9500 MILES. NO FAILURE HOWEVER SUSPECT IF IGNORED SHAFT COULD FAIL CAUSING CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF VEHICLE STEERING. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HWY AT ABOUT 70-75 MILES PER HOUR WHEN I TRIED TO MISS AN OBJECT IN THE ROAD MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND I SPUN TO THE RIGHT RESULTING IN MY CAR HITTING THE GUARD RAIL AND SPINNING BACK ACROSS THE HWY TO HIT THE MEDIAN WALL. MY PASSENGER WAS INJURED B/C HIS SEATBEALT DID NOT RESTRAIN HIM AND NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO THE CAR IT IS STILL IN POST ACCIDENT CONDITION. *TR
ONLY THE INSIDE 1 INCH OF BOTH REAR TIRE WEAR OUT AFTER 15,000 MILES DOWN TO THE CORDS. GENERAL MOTORS HAS REPLACED TWO SETS OF TIRES FOR ME BUT THE SECOND I HIT 36,000 MILE WARRANTY THEY REFUSE TO HELP ME ANYMORE. THERE IS A PROGRAM BULLETIN FROM GENERAL MOTORS ON THIS DEFECT (BULLETIN NUMBER 08032) FOR THE POLICE PACKAGE VEHICLES ONLY. I LOOKED UP THE DEFECTIVE PART NUMBERS (10329689 & 10329691 -ROD & REAR SPINDLES) AND THEY ARE THE SAME PART WHETHER THEY GO ON POLICE VEHICLES OR THE COMMON CONSUMER VEHICLE. DEFECTIVE IS DEFECTIVE. I HAVE ARGUED WITH GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY REFUSE TO HELP THE COMMON PEOPLE WHO BUY THE MAJORITY OF THEIR IMPALA VEHICLES. NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY CAN'T LINE UP THE REAR END TO STOP THE WEAR. SOMEONE IS GOING TO BLOW A REAR TIRE AND HAVE A FATAL CRASH! *TR
E BRAKE HAS NEVER WORKED, IN FORWARD OR REVERSE. ON AN ONCLINE, THE E BRAKE DOES NOT WORK, EITHER FACING UPHILL, OR DOWNHILL, IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL, IT NEVER HAS.
HEADLIGHTS AND DASHLIGHTS FLICKERING ON AND OFF. CHEVROLET TRYING TO BUY ME OFF WITH AN CHECK FOR $564 AND TO TELL ME THAT THEY ARE SORRY AND THEY VALUE ME AS A CUSTOMER. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN. FOUR DAYS LATER, THE NOISE RETURNED AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIE RODS. ONE MONTH LATER, THE NOISE OCCURRED FOR THE THIRD TIME AND THE STEERING GEAR MECHANISM WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE FOR THE FOURTH TIME. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE. SHE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER TOOK A REPORT AND INVESTIGATED THE BRAIN BOX. THE INVESTIGATION CONCLUDED THAT THE AIR BAG ACTED PROPERLY BY NOT DEPLOYING, BUT NO FURTHER EXPLANATION WAS PROVIDED. I OWE A CHEVY IMPALA 2007 AND I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CAR MUFFLER, IT WAS MAKING A NOISE. ON TAKING IT TO THE SERVICE SHOP, I WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AND THE PROBABLE REASON IS THE SALT HAS CAUSED THE DAMAGE. THE CAR HAS RUN 69 K MILES. I ENDED UP CHANGING THE MUFFLER. *KB
STEERING ISSUE WITH 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHEN MAKING TURNS, I CAN HEAR AND FEEL A CLUNKING NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 700 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER IS SUPPOSED TO REPLACE THE STEERING SHAFT WHEN THE PART IS AVAILABLE. I WENT TO THE DEALER TWICE WITH THIS CONCERN. THE FIRST TIME, THEY JUST LUBED THE STEERING SHAFT. THAT DID NOT HELP THE PROBLEM AT ALL. TWO DAYS LATER I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THAT IS WHEN THEY SAID THEY WILL REPLACE THE SHAFT. *TR
REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER FAILED AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN 48 HOURS. DOORS AND/OR TRUNK CANNOT BE OPENED WITH REMOTE CONTROL. THE PANIC ALARM BUTTON IS ALSO INOPERATIVE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. GM DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME THAT A TSB HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM. *JB
I JUST DROVE A NEW CHEVY IMPALA LT (2007). WHILE PARKING I EVER SO LIGHTLY TOUCHED THE CAR BEHIND ME. THE REAR BUMPER HAS AN IMMENSE DEFLATION!! REPAIRING WILL BE COSTLY. DONT KNOW IF THIS JUNK CAN BE HAMMERED OUT AS OLDER CARS. REPLACEMENT MAY BE NEEDED. THE" BUMPE"R IS WORTHLESS, COMPLETELY. ITS PURPOSE WAS TO ACCEPT BUMPS. OLDER CARS DID THIS EASILY.... THIS IS UNREASONABLE

THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR AXLE THAT WAS AFFECTING THE TIRES. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
I CANNOT SEE THE RECENTLY-POPULAR CLEAR TURN-SIGNAL LENS' WITH COLORED BULBS NEARLY AS WELL AS COLORED LENS. THIS HAS OFTEN CAUSED ME NEAR MISSES AS BOTH A DRIVER AND A PEDESTRIAN. MANY FANCY AFTER-MARKET LENS' ARE THE WORST, ESPECIALLY WHEN SUNLIGHT HITS THEM DIRECTLY. I BELIEVE MORE STUDY SHOULD BE DONE ON THE SAFETY OF THESE. *JB

SHE NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER, BUT THEY HAVE YET TO RESPOND. THE DEALER FROM WHERE SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE STATED THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THEREFORE, SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $89 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE DIAGNOSTIC WAS NOT PERFORMED. THE SPEED AND POWERTRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 37,000.

CONSISTENT SMELL OF GASOLING VAPOR FROM WHEN THE CAR WA FIRST PURCHASED. CAR PARKED IN A MULTUI CAR GARAGE, NEIGHBOR CALLED FIRE MARSHALL, DUE TO SEVERE GASOLINE SMELL. I TOOK THE CAR INTO WEST CHEVROLET, MAIN ST WOODBURY CT. LEFT CAR OVERNIGHT. SERVICE MANAGER CALLED TO TELL THE ME THE GAS TANK WAS IMPROPERLY MOLDED DURING CAR MANUFACTURER, AND THE TANK WAS LEAKING FUMES AND POSSIBLY GASOLINE THE WHOLE TIME I WAS DRIVING THE CAR DURING THE THREE MONTHS I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. THE GAS TANK WAS REPLACED. I RECIEVED NO COMPENSATION FOR THE POTENTIAL DANGER OF A LEAKING GAS TANK. *TR

HE NOTICED A BULGE IN THE SIDEWALL OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. THE FRONT TWO TIRES WERE REPLACED AND THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE WAS USED AS A SPARE. TWO WEEKS LATER, THE SPARE HAD A BULGE IN THE SIDEWALL. THE DOT NUMBER AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 5,807 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
