I bought a used car as is for $6700.00 and was told that the car was nothing wrong with it but within the first month 07/02/25 the car has been to 3 different shops and in the shop 5 different times all due to brake problems since I bought the car I have had to replace both front calipers and rotors brake pads wheel bearings and on the back both brake pads plus new tires and it's still not fixed the ABS traction and stability lights are on i could of caused a wreck I only drive it to the store with the money I had paid for the car putting it in a shop I shouldn't of had to do they sold me a dangerous car
I started my vehicle in the morning to let it warm up. I come back out to get myself and my son in the vehicle to go to work and take him to school. My dash upon entry had a check engine light on, and the message it displayed was "engine power reduced." I put my car into reverse, having no choice but to drive it and the traction control went out. My father in law pulled the code and it said something about the accelerator sensor. This is a known issue and recall in other models and I wanted to report it is also happening in my model.

REDUCED ENGINE POWER, STABILITRAC AND TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGES. WHILE DRIVING 2010 IMPALA .COMES ON WITHOUT WARNING CAR LOSES POWER DOWN TO 20 MPH I WAS DRIVING 55 MPH ON HIGHWAY PULLED OVER SHUT CAR OFF WAITED FEW MINUTES CAR RESTARTED THEN NOT 5 MINUTES LATER DID SAME THING ONLY THIS TIME ENGINE SHUT OFF WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF ROAD THANK GOODNESS CALLED GM THEY TOLD ME IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT WAS UNDER SPECIAL CONDITIONS .TAKE IT TO GM DEALER SO FEW DAYS LATER GOT IN IT TO TAKE TO DEALER ,NO LIGHTS ON DROVE FINE .DEALER TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK IF AND WHEN WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN WOW! READ THIS SAME ISSUE ON FORUMS GM SHOULD HAVE A RECALL ON THIS VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE .CALLED GM BACK AFTER GETTING HOME THEY MORE LESS TOLD ME YES IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL BUT IT ISN'T SO HAVE GOOD DAY THE COST IS ON YOU
CAR BEGAN SHOWING STABILITRAK SERVICE, TRACTION CONTROL SERVICE, REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 35, ALMOST CAUSING A MAJOR TRAFFIC ACCIDENT , PULLED TO SIDE OF INTERSTATE COMM CENTER SAYS INGNITION DISABLED CAR WONT DO ANYTHING WHEN KEY WAS TURNED . I THEN SAT APPROXIMATLEY 5 MINS CAR STARTS WITH NO CODES BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT . I CANNOT HAVE THIS HAPPENING MEANS I DRIVE 40 MILES TO WRK A DAY AND CANT AFFORD TO THROW PARTS AT THE PROBLEM AS ALL GM SERVICE CENTERS HSVE BEEN WITH NO SOLUTION
MY CHEVY IMPALA WHEN IN MOTION HAS SIGNALS FOR SERVICE STABILITRAC, THE CHECK ENGINE COMES ON AND THE A MESSAGE THAT SAYS REDUCED ENGINE POWER SHOWS UP. IT SEEMS LIKE ALOT OF IMPALA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE! THE STABILITACK GOES OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGTS STAYS ON BUT USUALLY GOES OFF, AND THEN A FEW DAYS LATER IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE NUMBER TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
ANTI LOCKING BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILTRAC ,SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. HAD ALL CHECKED, SAID IT WAS A RIGHT DRIVE WHEEL BEARING, REPLACED THE WHEEL BEARING. STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
DRIVING HOME ONE NIGHT AFTER JUST HAVING MY VEHICLE REPAIRED A FEW WEEKS EARLIER, WITHOUT WARNING, MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL. JUST BEFORE THE STALL IT WAS DRIVING COMPLETELY NORMAL WITH NO ISSUES AT ALL. SUDDENLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE MESSAGES OF SERVICE STABILTRACK, TRACTION CONTROL DISABLED, AND LOW ENGINE POWER. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS AN AFTERMARKET SENONDARY AIR CHECK VALVE THAT WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE. WITH THIS THEY GAVE ME THE FOLLOWING CODES; P0068, P0340, P0651, AND P2135. DUE TO ME JUST RECENTLY GETTING THIS PART REPLACED THIS PAST FEBRUARY I TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC THAT REPLACED IT. WHEN I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK IT WOULD NO LONGER EVEN START. THE MECHANIC THEN INFORMED ME THAT THE AIR VALVE WOULD NOT CAUSE THIS ISSUE AND THERE WAS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER. WHEN THAT WAS DONE I WAS TOLD A SECOND TIME THAT IT WAS THE AIR VALVE. I HAVE NOW COME OUT OF POCKET TWICE FOR TOWS THAT I CAN'T AFFORD. ALONG WITH PAYING FOR AN EXPENSIVE PART POSSIBLY TWICE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 50K MILES ON IT AND HAS NEVER GIVEN ME ANY ISSUES UNTIL THIS YEAR.
DRIVING 65MPH ON HIGHWAY WHEN "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND "SERVICE STABILITRAK" LIGHTS CAME ON AND ENGINE STARTED TO THROTTLE DOWN. HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PULL OVER ONTO LEFT SHOULDER WITH A SEMI CLOSE BEHIND. TURNED CAR OFF FOR 1 MINUTE AND RESTARTED AND THE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND "SERVICE STABILITRAK DISAPPEARED. HOW IS THIS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE REQUIRING A RECALL?
I WAS DRIVING AND MY DASH SAID SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL ENGINE SPEED REDUCED AND IT SLOWED DOWN BY IT SELF
ENGINE POWER DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY ON A TWO LANE HWY. TRAVELING AT 60 MPH. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED AND EXPERIENCED ROAD RAGE FROM DRIVER BEHIND ME. SCARY. I THEN NOTICED A SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING, AND ENGINE SPEED REDUCTION NOTICE. CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THIS WARNING WILL CLEAR ITSELF BUT CONTINUES TO OCCUR. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY CAN NOT IDENTIFY IT EVEN WHEN THE WARNING AND CONDITION IS ACTIVE. VEH. MILEAGE 126700.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE ROUTE, ALERTS APPEARED FOR "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" AND THEN "SERVICE STABILITRAK" FOLLOWED BY "ENGINE POWER REDUCED". THE ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF, WAITING A FEW MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING. THE MESSAGES STOPPED, BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. I DROVE A FEW MORE MILES AND APPROACHED THE ON-RAMP TO THE INTERSTATE. AS I ACCELERATED TO MERGE ONTO THE INTERSTATE, THE SAME ALERTS CAME BACK ON IN ADDITION TO "STARTING DISABLED, SERVICE THROTTLE". SHORTLY THEREAFTER, MY CAR BECAME COMPLETELY DISABLED AND SHUT DOWN AS I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE- THE ENGINE CUT OFF, NO POWER STEERING, NO ACCELERATION!! THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED AND THE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP AND SEEMS TO RUN FINE AT THE REPAIR SHOP. WORRIED WHEN AND WHERE IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE SUDDEN ACCELERATION CAUSED BY STICKY THROTTLE ACCIDENTS BEFORE RECEIVING ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION PEDAL SENSOR AND THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR RECALL NOTICES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, WHEN THE VEHICLE TOOK OFF LIKE A MISSILE. IT TRAVELED ACROSS THE STREET, JUMPED A CURB AND HIT A PARKED VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES. THE DEALER CLAIMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ACCELERATOR. HOWEVER, THE ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY A STICKY THROTTLE. WHEN THE SECOND ACCIDENT OCCURRED, THE CONSUMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO BACK THE VEHICLE UP, BUT INSTEAD IT ACCELERATED BACKWARDS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED MAKING A HIGH PITCH WHINING NOISE. THE CONSUMER QUICKLY APPLIED THE BRAKE. HOWEVER, IT NOT REDUCE THE SPEED. THE CONSUMER HIT AN OAK TREE, AND IN DOING SO, CAUSED THE TREE TO FALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND ACCIDENT, THE THROTTLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE ACCELERATOR WAS REPLACED. *JB
ON OR ABOUT MAY 17, 2015, I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM THE CHEVROLET DIVISION OF GENERAL MOTORS THAT MY VEHICLE "MAY HAVE A BROKEN SOLDER CONNECTION WITHIN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR. THIS CONDITION MAY RESULT IN REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND LOSS OF TRACTION CONTROL ASSIST." ACCORDING TO THEM, I WILL KNOW WHEN MY INFORMATION CENTER DISPLAYS THE WARNING AND THEN THEY WILL BE WILLING TO CORRECT THEIR POOR WORKMANSHIP, BUT NOT UNTIL THAT TIME. GM GOES ON TO INFORM ME THAT I MAY BE WITHOUT MY CAR FOR AN EXTENDED LENGTH OF TIME WHILE THEY ORDER PARTS AND DO REPAIRS. I DON'T SEE WHY I SHOULD BE THE ONE WHO WILL BE INCONVENIENCED FOR THEIR LACK OF PROPER WORKMANSHIP. FURTHERMORE, I FEEL THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE HERE ALSO. GM NEEDS TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT CAUSES NEEDLESS HARM TO SOMEONE.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE HWY GOING ABOUT 70-75 MPH WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME. THE ROAD CONDITION WAS NICE WITH NO SIGNS OF WATER ON THE HIGHWAY DURING THE HOURS OF 2 PM, GREAT SUNNY DAY. THE CAR JERKED ON ME LIKE THE THROTTLE WAS GOING DOWN. AFTERWARDS THE CAR JERKED AGAIN AND THE TRACTION LIGHT NOTIFICATION STARTED TO BEEP AND THE CAR IDLED DOWN AND I COULDN'T INCREASE MY SPEED. I CONTINUED ON THE HWY ASSUMING IT WOULD RECTIFY ITSELF BUT MY GIRL (WHO MAINLY DRIVES THE CAR), INFORMED ME IT'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR OVER THE PAST YEAR OFF AND ON PROBABLY ONCE EVERY OTHER MONTH. THAT THE WEATHER CONDITION DIDN'T MATTER IT WOULD POP UP AND SLOW DOWN AND SHE'D HAVE TO PULL OVER AND WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR TO TURN IT BACK ON TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE ABOUT HER DAY NORMALLY. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE BUT IT NEVER DID FIX ITSELF. I HAD TO FINALLY TAKE AN EXIT AND STOPPED AT A GAS STATION. MIGHT AS WELL TAKE A BREAK WHILE. AFTER ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES, I CRANKED THE CAR AND THE ISSUE SEEMED TO RESOLVE ITSELF AND I HAD NO FURTHER PROBLEMS THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE DAY. *TR
