RENTED A 2017 CHEVY IMPALA FOR A 10 DAY 3000 MILE ROAD TRIP.I DID THE DRIVING AND MY WIFE, 5' 1", SPENT THE TRIP IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. DUE TO THE EXTREME FORWARD POSITION OF THE HEADREST AND LACK OF HEADREST ADJUSTMENT SHE WAS MISERABLE THE WHOLE TRIP. I HAD BEEN PLANING ON BUYING THAT EXACT CAR, NOT NOW. I'LL BUY A USED CAR WITH HEADRESTS THAT MAKE SENSE, THE ONES ON THE NEW CARS DON'T.
HEADLIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT UP THE ROAD ON RIGHT SIDE, CANNOT SEE ROAD, CURBS OR PEDESTRIANS WHEN TURNING. PROJECTION SYSTEM, DEALER SAYS NOTHING WRONG, VERY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN. THEY NEED TO FIX PROJECTION SYSTEM TO COVER RIGHT SIDE OF VEHICLE. MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
SUN ROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING NORTHBOUND AT HIGHWAY SPEED (70 MPH) ON INTERSTATE 84 ENROUTE TO BUTTE, MT. IN RURAL IDAHO; 1766 MILES ON NEW 2017 IMPALA PREMIERE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATE 3:45 PM MDT. NO OTHER CARS AROUND, NO WHERE NEAR OVERPASS, SOUNDED LIKE GUNSHOT IN CAR. OUTSIDE AIR TEMP AROUND 75 DEGREES. NO EVIDENCE OF ANY ROCKS OR PROJECTILES. SOME GLASS CHARDS FOUND ON TRUNK. INTERNAL CLOTH COVER WAS CLOSED OR GLASS COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED DRIVER AND PASSENGER. GLASS CHARDS WERE CAPTURED AND RETAINED BY CLOTH COVER BUT FINE PIECES CAME THROUGH FINE MESH HOLES. TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER (BUTTE GM) AND WAS ADVISED THIS WAS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM AS NO SUCH OCCURANCES HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO DATE. HAVE CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AM AWAITING DISPOSITION.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH AT NIGHT, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AT A DISTANCE. THE FAILURE MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE MORE THAN FIVE FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ADJUSTED HIGHER; HOWEVER, THE LIGHTS STILL FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AT A DISTANCE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000.
2017. CHEVROLET IMPALA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A MALFUNCTION WITH PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE IS 4'11 AND WEIGHS 88 POUNDS. SHE USES A CUSHION TO MAINTAIN FRONT AND SIDE VISION WHILE SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE AIR BAG DOES NOT DETECT HER IN THE SEAT. THE DEALER ADVISED THERE IS NO MODIFICATION POSSIBLE. *JS
IN MOTION: UNKNOWN: WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE, SPEED 74 SET BY CRUISE CONTROL, THE CAR JERKED LIKE IT WAS GOING INTO PASSING MODE AND MADE A HORRIFIC SOUND. THE INTERSTATE WE WERE ON IN MISSISSIPPI WAS ON A FLAT ROAD. MY HUSBAND AND I THOUGHT THE REAR END HAD COME OUT OR IT WAS ABOUT TO BLOW UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVORLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXHAUST SMOKE SEEPED INTO THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE AIR VENTS. THE VEHICLE ALSO ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND EXTREME PRESSURE HAD TO BE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, COOLANT WAS LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROTOLO CHEVROLET (16666 S HIGHLAND AVE, FONTANA, CA 92336, (909) 333-6924), BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,312.
HEADLIGHTS SHINE ONLY HALFWAY UP THE WINDSHIELD AND COVER ONLY A FEW CAR LENGTHS AHEAD. NO VISIBI.ITY AT ALL TO THE SIDES. CANNOT SEE WHEN MAKING TURNS. VEHICLE WAS MOVING ON RURAL ROADS AND STATE HIGHWAY.
POOR FRONT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS LIGHT UP THE ROAD ONLY SHOWING THE BOTTOM 40% OF THE WINDSHIELD AND POOR LIGHTING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.THE TOP 60% OF THE WINDSHIELD AS YOU LOOK FORWARD IS DARK THE HEADLIGHTS ONLY SHOW 3 POSSIBLE 4 CAR LENGTHS IN FRONT OF THE CAR. AT 60 MPH YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE FARTHER THAN OVER 6 CAR LENGTHS AHEAD ON LOW BEAMS NOT 3 AND NOT OVER 1/2 YOUR VISIBILITY IN THE DARK VERY UNSAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2017 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL DETACHED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD NEAR A FARM. THE CONTACT CALLED ALAMO RENTAL CAR TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000. UPDATED 02/21/17*LJ
RENTED AN ALAMO RENTAL CAR AT THE DFW AIRPORT ON 12/23/16. . LEFT REAR WHEEL CAME OFF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON TEXAS HWY 36 CAUSING THE CAR TO LOOSE CONTROL AND SPIN OFF THE ROAD. *TR
BAD LIGHTING.
CLOSED THE DRIVER DOOR ON CAR, HEARD A WHAT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION FROM OVER HEAD. DISCOVERED THAT REAR SUNROOF PANEL HAD EXPLODED, GLASS PIECES HAD FALLEN ONTO SLIDING VISOR PANEL. HAD BEEN SITTING STATIONARY IN THE SUN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. WITHOUT QUESTION THEY SAID IT WAS A WARRANTY ITEM (CAR 2 MONTHS OLD). WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP PERSONNEL THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND EXPLODED PANEL THEY HAVE SEEN THIS WEEK ON A GM VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP, GLASS SHARDS FLEW OFF THE ROOF SCRATCHING THE REAR DECK PAINTED SURFACE.
THE FONTS ARE TOO SMALL ON ALL OF THE CONTROL SCREENS, THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN AND ON THE VARIOUS BUTTONS ON THE DASHBOARD. MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO TAKE THEIR EYES OFF THE ROAD FOR TOO LONG TO READ THE WRITING AND SYMBOLS. THERE IS PLENTY OF UNUSED BACKGROUND ON THE SCREENS AND BUTTONS WHERE THE FONTS COULD BE ENLARGED. OR, PERHAPS A FEATURE COULD BE DESIGNED WHERE THE DRIVER COULD INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE FONTS AS NEEDED.
