ALL LIGHTING AND INSTRUMENTATION ON THE DASH WOULD GO OFF SUDDENLY FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, THEN THE GAUGES WOULD WORK AGAIN. THIS WOULD HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED OR CONDITION. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. HAVE NOT HAD THAT PROBLEM SINCE THEN . BUT I RECEIVED A KEY RECALL #14350. THE REKEYING HAS BEEN COMPLETED BUT NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO TELL ME IF THE RECALL WAS ON THE ORIGINAL SWITCH, OR REPLACEMENT SWITCH PUT IN 2011. IF THE REPLACEMENT SWITCH WAS A RECALL ALSO HOW DO I KNOW IF MY VEHICLE WAS CLASSIFIED UNDER THE CORRECT RECALL? *TR
APPROACHED INTERSECTION IN TURNING LANE TO MAKE LEFT TURN. UPON MAKING SUCH TURN, VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE AS FAST AS IT SHOULD. WAS TOLD SECOND DRIVER RAN RED LIGHT AND COLLIDED WITH MY VEHICLE IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I REMEMBER HEARING THE CRASH AND THE CAR SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL. BOTH AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY, AS I WAS FLOATING OVER THE GEAR SHIFT. WAS TOLD AT THE SCENE LEFT LEG WAS BROKEN AT THE ANKLE PER PARAMEDIC. RIGHT LEG WAS CONFIRMED BROKEN AT THE ANKLE AT THE HOSPITAL. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT, I HAD A BURN MARK THAT LASTED ALMOST SIX MONTHS. I SPENT 22 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL, I STARTED AS ORTHO-TRAUMA, WENT TO SURGERY THE NEXT DAY TO REPAIR MY LEFT LEG WITH 1 PLATE AND 8 SCREWS. THREE DAYS LATER, I HAD COMPLICATIONS FROM MY INJURIES. I WENT TO PULMONARY ICU (PICU). TWO DAYS AFTER BEING STABILIZED, I WENT BACK TO SURGERY TO REPAIR MY RIGHT LEG WITH 2 PLATES AND 10 SCREWS. IT TOOK 10 MONTHS TO BE ABLE TO WALK AGAIN, WITH A CANE AND A LIMP... RIGHT LEG IS NOTICEABLY SHORTER THAN MY LEFT IT TOOK A YEAR TO HAVE FEELING TO THE TOP OF MY RIGHT FOOT AT MY BIG TOE. I HAVE LOST MY NURSING CAREER DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO DO MY JOB. WALKING AND STANDING, LIFTING, BENDING OR PUSHING A MEDICINE CART FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME IS IMPOSSIBLE. I HAVE BEEN DECLARED DIS-ABLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND A HISSING SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE STEERING IMMEDIATELY BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. AFTER DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE REGAINED STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000. UPDATED 1/20/2012 *BF UPDATED 01/25/12
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT SMELLED GASOLINE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. HE ALSO HEARD A POPPING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO HEAR THE POPPING NOISE HOWEVER, WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE PROGRESSED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FUEL REGULATOR WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,455. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE COULD BARELY SEE AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING DUE TO POOR LIGHTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED VERY DIMLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE SMELLED A FUEL ODOR UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE. THE SMELL BECAME MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS TURNED ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED AN OCCASIONAL FUEL LEAK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS 07E021000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICES) OR 09E012000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
STEERING BECAME STIFF TO TURN WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN. UPON INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM, WE DISCOVERED THAT A THIN MOUNTING TAB ON THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER WHERE THE STEERING BOX WAS ATTACHED TO HAD RUSTED AWAY LEAVING THE STEERING BOX HANGING FREE. I HAVE SEEN MANY INTERNET COMPLAINTS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. *TR
MY CAR SEEMED TO BE RIDING ROUGH AND MY RADIATOR LIGHT CAME ON. TODAY I WENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE MECHANIC SAID I HAD AN "INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET LEAK." MY OIL IS LEAKING INTO MY COOLANT. HE TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL FROM GM FOR DEXCOOL. I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANY INFORMATION ON THIS BUT TO HAVE IT FIXED WILL BE VERY COSTLY. *TR
I OWN A 2001 CHEVY MALIBU LS 6 CYL. THIS YEAR HAS 670,000+ CARS RECALLED FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING AND THE EXACT SAME YEAR. YET BECAUSE MY VIN ISNT INCLUDED OR ENOUGH PEOPLE WITH MY VIN HAVE NOT REPORTED THE PROBLEM..I AM EXCLUDED FROM HAVING THEM FIX THIS FOR ME. MY TURN SIGNALS ARE NOT WORKING, THEY WILL NOT FLASH, CLICK OR GO ON AS OF RECENTLY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT GM DID RECALL FOR MY CAR YEAR AND TYPE, YET I AM EXCLUDED BECAUSE OF MY VIN, SO MY LIFE..DOES NOT MATTER? BECAUSE...MAYBE ONLY A FEW HUNDRED HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM? TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND VEERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED HER THAT THE RIGHT SIDE K-FRAME WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 77,000. UPDATED 09/21/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE HIT A POTHOLE, SHE LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE CRADLE, STEERING RACK AND INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS HAD TO BE REPLACED. UPDATED 09/27/11
I WOULD LIKE ALL THE RECALLS FOR THIS CON OF A CAR AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET IN ON ANY LAWSUIT AGAINST GM FOR THEIR DRUG DEALING BUSINESS ETHICS OR LACK OF THESE CARS ARE A DEATH TRAPWAITING TO STRIKE GET GM OUT OF BUSINESS AND BAIL OUT THE CONSUMER NOT THE GREEDY LIARS THAT SELL TRINKETS FOR 50K OR MORE GIVING US LESS THAN SAFE GARBAGE THEY CALL A CAR. CHEVY MALIBU, 2001. THE THEFT SYSTEM IS RIDICULOUS! I'M NOT TRYING TO STEAL MY OWN CAR, AND WOULD RATHER HAVE IT STOLEN THAN SIT IN A SCARY DARK PARKING LOT ALL ALONE WAITING FOR IT TO START BACK UP. ALSO, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM SUCKS. NOONE AROUND WHERE I LIVE EVEN DEALS WITH IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ALARM SYSTEM ACTIVATED AND SHUT OFF THE FUEL SYSTEM WITHOUT REASON. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME, HE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FIFTEEN MINUTES FOR THE ALARM SYSTEM TO DEACTIVE IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,200.
JUST BOUGHT 2001 CHEVY MALIBU, ITS LEAKING COOLANT AND THE ENGINE IS OVERHEATING TO THE POINT OF SMOKE. SO THE GASKET IS SHOT, I'VE TAKEN THIS CAR IN BEFORE OVER THIS PROBLEM BUT STILL SEEMS TO COME BACK TO THE CAR OVERHEATING AND SMOKE. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS ONE GUY TOLD ME TO JUST GET A NEW ENGINE, THE COOLANT DIAGNOSTIC DIDN'T HELP AND ALL OF MY COOLANT CAN'T SEEM TO STAY IN THERE IT JUST LEAKS AS SOON AS IT'S IN, SO NOW WHAT??? THERE SHOULD HAVE DEFINITELY BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS GM NEEDS TO FIX THIS CONSIDERING MY ENGINE WAS TESTED AND REFURBISHED BY CHEVY NO MORE THAN 8 MONTHS AGO AT THE DEALER. THIS CAR FINALLY STALLED OUT ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST KILLED ME, THERE IS NO DAMAGE OTHER THAN THE ONES I MENTIONED ABOVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD FAIL TO START SPORADICALLY, AS A RESULT OF THE ANTI-THEFT PASS LOCK SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE ANTI-THEFT PASS LOCK SYSTEM AND WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR, THE ENGINE TURNED BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE THEFT LIGHT IN THE DASH WOULD FLASH. I CALLED GM DEALER AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT MANY OF THE GM MODELS OF THESE YEARS HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM. HE SAID THERE WAS A FAULT IN THE IGNITION SWITCH WHERE THE THEFT SYSTEM WAS NOT RECOGNIZING THE KEY AS BEING THE CORRECT KEY FOR MY AUTOMOBILE. HE TOLD ME TO TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO THE ON POSITION FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES AND THE THEFT LIGHT WOULD GO OUT, AND THEN I COULD START THE CAR. HE SAID TO BRING IT IN AND THEY COULD REPAIR/REPLACE THE PROBLEM FOR AROUND $500 DOLLARS. AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND HAVING THE REPAIRS MADE, AGAIN WITHIN TWO YEARS, THE THEFT LIGHT IN THE DASH STARTED FLASHING AGAIN AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START UNTIL I LEFT IT SITTING WITH THE KEY/IGNITION IN THE ON POSITION FOR THE 10 MINUTES IT TAKES TO RESET THE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM. I THINK GM SHOULD HAVE TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. *TR

AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE TRAVELD INTO ANOTHER LANE AND CRACHED INTO A CURB. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AXLE WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED OCCASIONALLY THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AND THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE NO LONGER ILLUMINATING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT ACCEPTED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM PASSLOCK RANDOMLY ACTIVATES AND PREVENTS STARTING OF CAR -- MUST LEAVE KEY IN CAR FOR 10-15 MINUTES AND THEN IT STARTS. IT HAPPENED AGAIN. DID INTERNET SEARCH REGARDING MALIBU STARTING PROBLEMS AND SAW LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE BUT WHEN THE CARS ARE TAKEN IN THEY ARE TOLD THEY NEED IGNITION SWITCH OR SOME OTHER THING BUT AFTER REPLACEMENT STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. OTHER PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET EXPRESSED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I AGREE -- HAVING A CAR THAT MAY OR MAY NOT START AT ANY GIVEN TIME IS NOT SAFE. FOR EXAMPLE, WHAT IF ENGINES CUTS OFF OR IS TURNED OFF AND CAR NEEDS TO BE MOVED FOR AN EMERGENCY OR SAFETY REASON BUT WONT START FOR 10-15 MINUTES?! HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN 12 TIMES OVER THE 10 YEARS WE HAVE OWNED IT. LOST COUNT. BOUGHT IT NEW. *TR
I AM ON MY THIRD GOORYEAR VIVA 2 THAT WOBBLES AT 65 MPH AND HAS EVENTUAL KNOT OR BUBBLE AND FAILS. *TR
CAR OVER HEATED, TEMP GAUGE OVER NORMAL RANGE. ADDED TWO GALLONS OF ANTIFREEZE, STILL OVER HEATED, AND CHECKED FOR ANTIFREEZE IN THE OIL. ANTIFREEZE WAS PRESENT INDICATING A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. NO CORRECTIVE REPAIR HAS BEEN DONE YET>. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE KEYS. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000. UPDATED 11/24/14*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO HONOR THE RECALL REIMBURSEMENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE FAILURE REPEATED MANY TIMES AFTER THE INITIAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 180,766.
PASSLOCK SYSTEM ENGAGES RANDOMLY AND CAR WILL NOT START. THIS HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. WE OFTEN HIKE IN REMOTE AREAS W/OUT CELL SERVICE AND COULD DIE FROM EXPOSURE IF CAR DIDN'T START. YESTERDAY(01/15/2011) WE WENT TO DINNER AT 4PM AND COULD NOT LEAVE AFTER EATING!!! CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER TRYING EVERY 10-15 MINS. FOR 2 HOURS!! WAITED 2 MORE HOURS AND STILL NO START!! FINALLY GOT HOME AT 10AM 01/16/2011. THANK GOD WE WERE OUT TO DINNER AND NOT OUT IN THE WOODS AS IT WAS ABOUT 20 DEGREES HERE. *LN
I WENT OUTSIDE TO CRANK UP THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START. IT WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT START AND THE ANTI-THEFT LIGHT WOULD FLASH. RESEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR POSSIBLE CAUSES AND WAS ADVISED TO PUT THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO BYPASS THE THEFT SYSTEM. IT SEEMS AS IF THE THEFT SYSTEM KICKS IN AND KILLS THE CAR SO THAT IT WILL NOT START. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I AM ALWAYS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO START AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF IT BEING IN THE ON POSITION, BUT THERE IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE WITH THE WIRING AS THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THESE CARS. *TR

I CALLED THE GM DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR 20 MIN WHILE LEAVING THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION. IT WORKED. BUT WHEN I CHECKED THE INTERNET (HTTP://WWW.CAR-FORUMS.COM/S9/T1545.HTML) AND FOUND THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON. FOR EXAMPLE, 1) I HAVE FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE PASSLOCK ANTI THEFT SYSTEM DEFECTS. PLEASE TAKE 5 MINUTES TO FILE A COMPLAINT TO THE NHTS ABOUT THIS MATTER. OUR CHEVY 2001 MALIBU HAS A DEFECTIVE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM THAT MANY OTHER COMPLAIN ABOUT ALSO. IT DISABLES THE CAR AT THE MOST IN OPPORTUNE TIMES THAT CAN BE LIFE THREATENING IN SOME INSTANCES. GM SHOULD RECALL THIS AND THEY HAVE NOT. *TR
ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM PASSLOCK RANDOMLY ACTIVATES AND PREVENTS STARTING OF CAR -- MUST LEAVE KEY IN CAR FOR 10-15 MINUTES AND THEN IT STARTS. FIGURED OUT IT WAS NOT THE BATTERY BECAUSE HAD JUST GOTTEN A NEW ONE WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. DID INTERNET SEARCH REGARDING MALIBU STARTING PROBLEMS AND SAW LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE BUT WHEN THE CARS ARE TAKEN IN THEY ARE TOLD THEY NEED IGNITION SWITCH OR SOME OTHER THING BUT AFTER REPLACEMENT STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. OTHER PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET EXPRESSED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I AGREE -- HAVING A CAR THAT MAY OR MAY NOT START AT ANY GIVEN TIME IS NOT SAFE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

SUMMARY: BY LETTER DATED AUGUST 27, 2003, GM NOTIFIED THE AGENCY THAT IT IS CONDUCTING A VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL (NHTSA RECALL NO. 03V327) INVOLVING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR (MY) 2000-2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU, OLDSMOBILE ALERO, AND PONTIAC GRAND AM. GM'S RECALL COVERS 670,740 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BEGINNING FEBRUARY 1, 2000 THROUGH MAY 1, 2001 (ALERO AND GRAND AM) AND FEBRUARY 1, 2000 THROUGH MAY 31, 2001 (MALIBU). GM REPORTS THAT TURN SIGNAL FAILURE IS DUE TO SOLDER JOINT CRACKING IN THE HAZARD SWITCH, AND HAS IDENTIFIED RAPID TEMPERATURE TRANSITIONS OF THE HAZARD SWITCH AND THE SOLDERING PROCESS AS THE CAUSE OF CRACKING. CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN STEERING HARD TO THE RIGHT AND MADE CLUNKING NOISES WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED. DISCOVERED THAT THE LEFT SIDE MOUNTING BOLT OF THE STEERING RACK RIPPED THROUGH THE RUSTED OUT FRAME CRADLE, LEAVING THE RACK ATTACHED BY ONLY ONE BOLT. THIS ALLOWS THE RACK TO PIVOT UPWARDS INSTEAD OF PROPERLY STEERING THE VEHICLE. THE RIGHT HAND MOUNT IS ALSO VERY RUSTED AND IS NEARING FAILURE. CAR HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME, SINCE THE ENTIRE FRONT FRAME WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. *TR

RECALL ON EMERGENCY FLASHER DONE UNDER RECALL. CONTACTED CHEVROLET C.S. AND THEY CONFIRMED RECALL DONE,PART REPLACED. WITHIN THE LAST YEAR THE FLASHER WILL START CLICKING WITHOUT BEING ENGAGED. NEITHER THE EMERGENCY FLASHER OR TURN SIGNAL FLASH ON AND OFF,BUT THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR MAKES THE CLICKING NOISE. THIS INTERMITTENT SOUND HAS NO PATTERN,AND LASTS FOR VARIOUS LENGTHS OF TIME,AGAIN WITH NO INPUT FROM THE TURN SIGNAL STALK OR EMERGENCY BUTTON BEING PUSHED. IT CAN BE SILENCED BY PUSHING IN ON THE EMERGENCY BUTTON PARTIALLY UNTIL THE CLICKING NOISE STOPS. *TR
