TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE "POWER STEERING FAULT" MESSAGE DISPLAYED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING, MAKING IT HARD TO STEER. THE PROBLEM STARTED INTERMITTENTLY NOW IT JUST HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. I DID NOT SEE MY VIN NUMBER ON THE LIST. FROM THE LOOKS OF IT, IT LOOKS LIKE A LOT MORE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. ALSO WHEN I'M STOPPED THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES ON IT'S OWN.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2008 MALIBU WHEN POWER STEERING AND SERVICE ESC LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH. SHE LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND HAD TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY. WHEN SHE TURNED OFF HER CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON EVERYTHING WORKED NORMAL. FIVE MINUTES LATER THIS SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN OFTEN NOW BUT THE LIGHTS ARE ALL OFF WHEN WE TAKE IT TO GET IT SCANNED. THIS PROBLEM WAS INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS OF THIS VEHICLE BUT OURS WAS NOT INCLUDED FOR SOME REASON.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON POWER STEERING. I TOOK TO CHEVY DEALER. THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT. ALITTLE BETTER LATER IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN SO I CALLED CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID RECALL TIME WAS UP THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. NOW MY POWER STEERING IS COMPLETELY OUT. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD FIX IT AND MAKE IT RIGHT. *TR
ENGINE POWER FAILURE AND TRACTION CONTROL TURNS OFF, THE CARS POWER IMMEDIATELY REDUCES POWER AND SPEED WITHOUT NOTICE, CAR STALLS OUT. IT IS VERY RANDOM WITHOUT WARNING/NOTICE; QUITE DANGEROUS- IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND TURNED BACK ON IT RETURNS TO NORMAL ONLY FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.
BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING ON WHILE CAR IS IN PARKED AND WHILE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF
IGNITION SWITCH (RELATED TO THE KEY) FAILS INTERMITTENTLY CAUSING VEHICLE TO EITHER NOT START OR QUIT RUNNING WHILE DRIVING.
VEHICLE MAKES POPPING NOSIE WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 143,000.
IN 2014 A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING WAS DONE BULLETIN 14117A, I HAD IT FIXED IN 2017 AND NOW THE POWER STEERING IS GOING OUT AGAIN CODE CO545! THE POWER STEERING LOCKS UP WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PARKED RANDOMLY! CAUSING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER! OBVIOUSLY IF THIS IS HAPPENING TO MY CAR AGAIN I AM SURE IT IS HAPPENING TO OTHERS! THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!
CAR HAS 145,XXX ON ODOMETER WITH A SHAKING STEERING WHEEL, POWER STEERING CONSISTENTLY GOES OUT SHORTLY AFTER STEERING WHEEL BEGINS TO SHAKE CAUSING HIGHER RISK FOR CRASH WHICH IS UNSAFE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. EVERY-TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHEREVER I AM (CITY STREET, HIGHWAY). I HAVE TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD/HIGHWAY TO RESTART MY CAR TO TRY TO "BUY" SOME TIME FOR POWER STEERING AND THEN IT WILL GO OUT AGAIN. THE FIRST TIME MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT WAS WHILE I WAS IN AN INTERSECTION MAKING A LEFT TURN AND NEARLY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, REDUCED ENGINE POWER SIGNAGE, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. DRIVING HOME ON SECONDARY STREET. FIXED WITH NEW SENSOR FOR THROTTLE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR. 2 WEEKS LATER, SAME LIGHTS ON DASH WHEN STARTED IN THE MORNING.
FRONT LOW BEAM LIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT REPLACED LOW BEAM BULBS 3 TIMES IN 6 MONTHS AND REPLACED HARNESSES ONCE AND LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS CONTINUES TO GO OUT. BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN CAR IS STARTED AND CONTINUES TO STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. 3RD BRAKE LIGHT DOESN'T WORK ALL THE TIME. IT LIGHTS UP BRIGHT SOMETIME, DIM SOMETIME, AND OTHER TIMES IT DON'T WORK AT ALL.
AT APPROX. 140K MILES, THE EPS MODULE FAILED AND CAUSED THE POWER STEERING TO FAIL AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY CHANGED TO MANUAL STEERING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE WARNING CHIME ALERTED ME TO THE EPS MODULE FAILURE. AFTER GETTING TO A SAFE AREA AND TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, THE EPS RESUMED WORKING FOR A BREIF PERIOD, ONLY TO FAIL AGAIN THE SAME WAY. THIS OCCURED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS UNTIL EVEN TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN DID NOTHING. THE EPS JUST WILL NOT ENGAGE NOW AT ALL. GM ISSUED A RECALL FOR OTHER 2008 MALIBU'S FOR THIS EXACTFAILURE BUT MY VIN IS NOT LISTED. I HAVE HEARD/READ ABOUT THIS EXACT ISSUE FROM MANY OTHER 2008 MALIBU OWNERS.
DRIVING DOWNTOWN DES MOINES MY MESSAGE CENTER STARTED DINGING, THE MESSAGE OUTPUT WAS: "POWER STEERING" THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN MOVING ON ITS OWN BACK & FORTH, JERKING AND GRINDING. AT ONE POINT JERKED OUT OF MY HAND. IT BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTINUE. I PULLED INTO A CONVIENCE STORE, BOUGHT POWER STEERING FLUID AND STARTED THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING SEEMED NORMAL. THE CAR WAS NOT LOW ON FLUIDS, I DIDN'T TRAVEL FAR BEFORE IT HAPPENED AGAIN. BY THE TIME I MADE IT HOME MY RIBS WERE HURTING FROM TRYING TO MANAUVER THE CAR HOME. THIS MALFUNCTION IS THE EPS SYSTEM AND RECALLS OF THE 2008 BEGAN IN 2014. MY VIN# WASN'T INCLUDED ON THE LIST. HOWEVER, MY CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. AT ONE POINT MY STEERING WHEEL JERKED SO HARD IT YANKED STEERING WHEEL AWAY FROM MY GRIP AND I CAME CLOSE TO HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE ABOVE OCCASION, I WOULD BE STOPPED AT A SIGNAL LIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL GRINDED JERKED BACK AND FOURTH AND UNFETTERED.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILURE. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE MESSAGE CENTER BEEPED AND GAVE MESSAGE POWER STEERING AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED JERKING OUT OF CONTROL AND COULD HARDLY STEER. SEVERAL TIMES AFTER RESTARTING STEERING WOULD WORK FOR AWHILE. THERE ARE RECALLS ON OTHER 2008 BUT I WAS TOLD MINE HAD A SPECIAL WARRANTY THAT RAN OUT. I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT THE CAR AND IT ISN'T RIGHT THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $1500 TO FIX THIS DEFECT. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOUR STEERING WHEEL JERKS OUT OF YOUR HAND AND MOVES ON ITS OWN.
POWER STEERING GOES OUT THEN COMES BACK SOMETIMES WHEN I TURN IT OFF THEN BACK ON.
ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. WHEN STARTING THE CAR, THE WORDS 'POWER STEERING' COMES ON THE MESSAGE BOARD ALONG WITH A YELL ILLUMINATED TRIANGLE LIGHT AND AN 'ESC' LIGHT AND THE CARS STEERING WILL NOT CONTROL. CAR WILL SHIFT BUT STEERING CANNOT BE CONTROLLED. WILL ALSO HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING. STEERING WILL LOCK UNTIL CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED!
2008 CHEVY MALIBU LIGHTS WILL COME ON BUT ENGINE WON'T CRANK. WE WHERE IN THE HIGHWAY AND TRYING TO JUMP A CAR AND IT JUST TURNED OFF AND WON'T START AT ALL.
THE SERVICE TRACTION LIGHT, ESC OFF, & SERVICE ESC LIGHTS HAVE ALL COME ON IN THE DIC. SOMETIMES ENGINE SLOWS & JERKS WHIE DRIVING. I HAD MY DRIVERS SIDE FRONT AXLE AND WHEEL BEARING FIXED A MONTH AGO. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THESE LIGHTS ARE ON.
CARS PURCHASED ON OCTOBER 31ST 2018 THE CAR CAN I PASS INSPECTION WITH NO ONE TO DMV THEY GAVE US A CALL BACK SAYING THE CAR WAS TOTALED IN THE SALVAGE CAR DECLARED IN 2016 THE CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SOLD FOR $2,700 WHEN CONTACTED DEALER HE REFUSED TO GIVE US OUR MONEY AND HE SAID ONLY I CAN GET ANOTHER CAR IF I PAY YOUR CAR NOTES AT THIS TIME WOULD JUST LIKE FOR MY MONEY TO BE REFUNDED THE VEHICLE CANNOT PASS INSPECTION AND IS UNSAFE TO BE DRIVEN ON THE STREET I WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK HE'S PUTTING MY LIFE IN DANGER
THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING HAS WENT OUT ON MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN. IT ALSO WOULD COME BACK ON AND WHILE I AM DRIVING IT WILL SUDDENLY GO OUT AS WELL. IT HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY HAPPENING.
IGNITION HEATS UP AND WILL NOT START UNTIL COOLS OFF

THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED A POWER STEERING FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CHECK FOR RECALLS. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
POWER STEERING ALL OF A SUDDEN ISN'T WORKING. ENGINE LIGHT AND POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING, AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT FELT A STRONG VIBRATION COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE STEERING WHEEL FREQUENTLY SEIZED. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON TO RESET THE COMPUTER. IN ADDITION, THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14E044000 (STEERING) AND 14V153000 (STEERING). THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE AS LISTED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGNS. OCEAN CITY CHEVROLET (2366 OCEAN HWY W, SHALLOTTE, NC 28459, (910) 364-9917) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES, BUT DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS TO PROVIDE FURTHER TECHNICAL INFORMATION CONCERNING THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES AND RECOMMENDATIONS. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THE FAILURES NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER TO RECEIVE REPAIRS FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES TO DETERMINE THEIR GUIDELINES TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT. REPLACED THE BULBS A FEW TIMES BUT STILL KEEP GOING OUT EVERY FEW WEEKS. IT IS HARD TO KNOW HOW AND WHEN IT GOES OUT. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH THIS PROBLEM THAT CAN HAPPEN AT NIGHT MIDDLE OF ROAD. IT IS ALSO EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND COSTLY TO REPLACE BULB EACH TIME.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK LET OFF THE PEDAL CAUSE OF TRAFFIC AND CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. PRESSING BRAKE BARELY GOT IT TO STOP. I AVOIDED A CRASH THAT DAY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND IT DOESNT GIVE ANY WARNING NOR OBD CODES
TAKATA RECALL: TIMING CHAIN AND CRANKSHAFT ISSUE. CAR STARTED TO LOSE SPEED ALL OF A SUDDEN AND THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO START THE CAR, IT WOULDN'T START AT ALL. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO FIND OUT THAT MY TIMING CHAIN IS LOSE AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR PIECE WAS MISSING OR BROKEN
MY BCM I HAS TERRIBLE WIRING CONNECTION AND THE WAY I BOUGHT IT SOMEONE RAN A NEW WIRE TO THE THIRD COIL BECAUSE THE BAD CONNECT IS CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO TURN ON AND IS SHORTING OUT ALL MY EMISSIONS PARTS SUCH AS MAF SENSOR, O2S, EVAP PURGE SOLENOID AND MY CAR IS RUNNING LIKE CRAP AND A MECHANIC SAID HE HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE ON THE SAME VECHILE AS MINE
HIGHBEAM HEADLIGHTS DID NOT COME RATHER CAR IS STARTED OR NOT.
MY PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT KEEP GOING OUT. MY MECHANIC HAS CHECKED EVERYTHING BULB, WIRE HARNESS WIRES EVERYTHING POSSIBLE. I HAVE USED AFTERMARKET AND GM BRAND PARTS AND HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. THE LIGHT WOULD SOMETIMES COME ON WHEN HITTING A BUMP BUT NOW NOTHING. I CAN NO LONGER DEPEND ON MY VEHICLE FOR NIGHT DRIVING. THE LIGHT WOULD ALSO COME ON AFTER A FEW SECONDS AFTER STARTING.
PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT. CHANGED BULBS, WIRE ASSEMBLIES. PROBLEM STILL OCCURS.
FUEL LEAKS/IGNITION FIRE; TOOK VEHICLE TO CHEVY DEALER TO HAVE RECALL ITEMS FIXED AND INFORM THEM THE FUEL LEAK PROBLEM WITH REGARDS TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN #13E-043 AND THE ARTICLE OF 10/01/12 SITING THAT GM WAS RECALLING 41,000 CARS SOLD IN WARM WEATHER STATES INCLUDING CA, BECAUSE OF DEFECTIVE PLASTIC PART MIGHT CAUSE "FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE MAY RESULT IN A FIRE." GM TOLD NHTSA THAT IT BEGAN INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM IN 2011 AFTER A DEALER REPORTED FUEL LEAKING AND THAT IT WOULD NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL MODULE FREE OF CHARGE INCLUDING THOSE WHO LIVE OUTSIDE THE STATES AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. THE OFFER IS VALID FOR 10YRS OR 120,000 MILESFROM THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD, GM SPOKESMAN ALAN ADLER TOLD THE ASSOCIATED PRESS. CHEVY SUPERSTITION SPRINGS, MESA, AZ WILL NOT HONOR THIS AND WANTS TO CHARGE ME $900 TO REPAIR THEIR MANUFACTURE DEFECT. PLEASE HELP!! I HAVE A CHILD AND FAMILY MEMBERS I TRANSPORT IN VEHICLE WITH POTENTIAL HAZARD OF IGNITING A FIRE WHILE DRIVING.

THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, AND THE VEHICLE SEIZED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-4540543149. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
STRONG GAS SMELL FROM REAR OF VEHICLE (INTERIOR/EXTERIOR). LEAK CONFIRMED FROM FUEL PUMP WHEN IN MOTION. ALSO, VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATED, USUALLY AFTER VEHICLE SITS FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.
I BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT . THOUGHT IS WAS THE BULB THAT DIDNT WORK. I THEN REPLACED THE CONNECTION AND I WORKED FOR A 4 MONTHS NOW IT'S THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN.
RED AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON ALSO SERVICE AIR BAG MESSAGE IS ON. THIS IS ON WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE MOVING. NO ISSUES TO THE VEHICLE THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TO OCCUR.
TAKATA RECALL, MY 08 MALIBU WILL NOT START AFTER DRIVING NO MATTER HOW LONG. I'VE BEEN STRANDED MULTIPLE TIMES. I BOUGHT A NEW STARTER, RELAY SWITCH, IGNITION, SWITCH, AND PAID FOR MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. EVERY MECHANIC SENDS ME TO THE DEALER SHIP AND SAYS THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM BUT BELIEVE IT'S THE ECM. I'M TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND PRAYING THIS DOESN'T COST ME ANOTHER CAR!
SHIFTER GET STIF AND HARD TO SHIFT WHEN WARM
ESC ALWAYS TURNING OFF. BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATING RANDOMLY AND NOT WORKING RANDOMLY WHEN IN MOTION. CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGING IF ESC LIGHT COMES ON WHEN CONTROL
I WENT TO THE WALKING TRACK WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD SON TO TAKE OUR DOG FOR A WALK. IT WAS HOT THAT DAY SO WE WAITED UNTIL EVENING TO GO. WHEN WE WERE DONE, I POPPED THE TRUNK TO PUT HIS BIKE AWAY AND UNLOCKED THE DOOR, WENT TO START THE CAR AND THE ANTI-THEFT WARNING LIGHT CAME ON (THE ICON OF THE CAR WITH A LOCK ON IT), AND MY CAR WOULD NOT START. GOT MY OWNERS MANUAL OUT, BUT IT WAS OF NO HELP, SO I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM. MOST PEOPLE WHO HAD THIS ISSUE SAID TO PUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION AND TURN IT TO THE ACC POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES, THEN TAKE THE KEYS OUT AND TRY TO START THE CAR AGAIN AND IT SHOULD START. WELL THAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME, AND I GUESS I HAD TRIED TOO MANY TIMES TO START IT, SO THEN IT WENT COMPLETELY DEAD AND WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING. SO THERE I SIT, 10 O'CLOCK AT NIGHT WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD AND OUR CHIHUAHUA, IN AN EMPTY PARKING LOT WITH NO STORES OR BUSINESS CLOSE BY THAT WERE OPEN. NOT TO MENTION MY DOG WAS PANTING BECAUSE IT WAS STILL MUGGY OUTSIDE FROM BEING 90 DEGREES THAT AFTERNOON. I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK, WHO THANKFULLY CAME WITHIN THE HOUR TO HELP ME. I TOLD HIM THE PROBLEM AND HE SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE SOME KIND OF SENSOR ISSUE. SO HE JUMPED MY CAR OFF SINCE I HAD DRAINED THE BATTERY TRYING TO DISABLE THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM, AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. BY THE TIME WE GOT HOME, THOUGH, IT WAS 11:30 AT NIGHT. ANYTHING COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO US THAT LATE AT NIGHT, IN AN EMPTY PARKING LOT, WITH NO WHERE TO WALK TO. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE MALIBUS, AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMETHING TRAGIC HAPPENS AND THEN CHEVROLET FACED WITH A LAWSUIT. I WILL BE TAKING MY CAR TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER TOMORROW, AND FINDING OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS FOR CERTAIN, BUT I'M QUITE SURE IT IS THE PASSLOCK SENSOR IN THE IGNITION THAT HAS FAILED, WHICH OTHER OWNERS HAVE FACED AS WELL.
ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STARTED COMING ON AND I WOULD HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF TO RESET IT AFTER THAT I WAS NOTIFIED THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WOULD TURN OFF WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES PRETTY MUCH WORKING IN REVERSE NOW AT THE MOMENT IT IS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME AND IT IS MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE FOR ME AND MY CHILD TO DRIVE IN. ALSO WHEN I AM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR WILL SHIFT FROM FIFTH GEAR DOWN TO 4TH GEAR AND I WOULD HAVE TO SWITCH TO THE MANUAL SHIFT MODE TO SHIFT CORRECTLY DUE TO THE CAR NOT SHIFTING CORRECT.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AIRBAG ISSUES, I HAVE HAD MY HEADLIGHTS CHECKED THREE TIMES AND THEY KEEP GOING COMPLETELY OUT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS THE STEERING IS ALWAYS SHAKY ITS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH MY CAR
MY TAIL LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING, THEY RANDOMLY WENT OUT HOWEVER BRAKES BLINKER ECT ALL STILL WORK MULTIPLE FORUMS SAY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE JUST GOOGLE IT. THEY WENT OUT AT NIGHT IN A CANYON, I COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY HURT HAD AN OFFICER NOT NOTICED.

BRAKE LIGHTS RANDOMLY ILLUMINATE! WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATING. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR A WHILE NOW.
Interior electrical system right left passenger door will not lock, front speakers stop working and signal handle does not work will not turn on when engaged handle to turn left or right. Temperature gages stop working dial stays on C.. causing air conditioner to blow out warm air never get cool.
CLUNK, KNOCK AND RATTLING SOUND FROM INTERMEDIATE SHAFT AND STEERING RACK AND PINION. THE CLUNKING AND KNOCKING SOUND HAPPENS AT SLOW SPEEDS (PARKING LOTS, DRIVEWAY AND CITY DRIVING) AND AT 70-75 M.P.H. (HIGHWAY SPEEDS) IT STARTS TO RATTLE IN THE STEERING RACK THEN MAKES THE ENTIRE CAR START TO VIBRATE.
