ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2013, THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WARNING ME THAT WE HAD NO POWER STEERING FOR THE FIRST TIME. ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2013, WE AGAIN RECEIVED THE MESSAGE THAT WE HAD NO POWER STEERING. AND WE DID NOT HAVE POWER STEERING. YOU HAD TO TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND RESTART NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE WARNING LIGHT NOT TO COME ON. ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2013, MY INTENT WAS TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE MALIBU CHECKED OUT, WHEN MY WIFE CALLED ON HER WAY TO WORK AND SAID THAT SHE HAD TROUBLE STARTING THE MALIBU WITHOUT THE POWER STEERING WARNING, THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE STEERING AS SHE WAS DRIVING, AND WE SHOULD EXCHANGE VEHICLES AT A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THEY LOOKED AT THE ERROR CODE (DTC C0545), PRINTED ME A COPY OF THE TECHNICAL BULLETIN (09-02-36-001), AND RECOMMENDED THAT I TAKE THE MALIBU TO A DEALER. IT TOOK FIVE STARTS BEFORE THE MALIBU WOULD START ON THEIR PARKING LOT BEFORE THE POWER STEERING WARNING WENT OFF. AS I DROVE TO THE DEALER THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE, BUT THERE WAS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING. WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALER, I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND SET THE EMERGENCY BRAKE; WHEN I TOOK MY HANDS OFF THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS GOING LEFT AND RIGHT ON ITS OWN ? I CAN?T EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH. I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED (OR HAVE EVEN HEARD OF) A CAR?S STEERING WHEEL PERFORMING IN THIS MANNER BEFORE. IN ADDRESSING THE SITUATION WITH THE TECHNICIAN WRITING UP MY PROBLEM, WE DISCUSSED PAYMENT AND WARRANTY AND HE SAID HE WOULD CALL GM AND CALL ME BACK. HE CALLED ME BACK LATER AND SAID THAT GM WOULD PAY HALF THE REPAIR AND THAT MY COST EVENTUALLY WORKED OUT TO $497.66. *TR
AT FREEWAY SPEED THE CAR WANTS TO PULL TO LEFT WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT. STEERING WHEEL MAKES A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT. HARD TO STEER WHEN MOVING SLOWLY. LOOSE SLOPPY STEERING FEEL. THE DEALER IS REPLACING THE ENTIRE STEERING GEAR RACK. VERY COSTLY. *TR
THE DRIVE LINKAGE BUSHING KEEPS SEPARATING FROM THE BALL JOINT CAUSING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NOT TO WORK AT ALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, EVEN AFTER PURCHASING AND INSTALLING BRAND NEW WINDSHIELD WIPER BUSHINGS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AS THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,024.
BRAKE LIGHTS TURN ON WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT PRESSED, AND GOES OFF WHEN BRAKES ARE TOUCHED LIGHTLY; SHORTLY AFTER, THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME BACK ON WHEN PEDAL IS RELEASED. SEVERAL CARS HAVE COME CLOSE TO REAR-ENDING ME DUE TO THE BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE. TOOK TO CHEVROLET DEALER, THEY SAID THE WIRING HARNESS LOOKED GOOD, NO SERVICE PERFORMED ON IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE ESC WARNING LIGHT. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V15300 (STEERING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
I HAVE A GAS LEAK COMING FROM THE TOP OF MY GAS TANK. I NOTICED GM HAS HAD RECALLS FOR THIS ON CERTAIN VEHICLES BUT NOT FOR MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE(09 CHEVY MALIBU). I HAVE READ ONLINE AND SEVERAL OTHER 09 CHEVY MALIBU OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I CALLED THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALL AND CANNOT HELP ME. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND THE "SERVICE ESC / SERVICE TRACTION" CAME ON, ON MY 2009 CHEVY MALIBU. THERE WAS A SLIGHT ROUGHNESS ON THE ENGINE. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM WITHTHE VEHICLE AND WE PAID THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. IT HAS APPEARED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THAT BUT NOT OFTEN. I CALLED CHEVROLET ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I SAW A RECALL ( RECALL ID 103629) ON ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL FOR 2009 CHEVY MALIBU BUT THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED ON THE RECALL LIST. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND MY WIFE. I HAVE READ SEVERAL CONCERNS OF PEOPLE WHO OWN THIS VEHICLES AND WHAT HAPPENED WITH THEM. *TR
POWER STEERING IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. NO ASSIST OR LITTLE ASSIST. *TR
BRAKES LIGHTS ARE STAYING ON WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION AND BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. RELEASE BRAKE AND BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON. PRESS BRAKES AND BRAKE LIGHTS OFF. THE PROBLEM IS PERSISTANT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON INSPECTION, THERE WAS A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL SHOP WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT A CONNECTOR ABOVE THE FUEL TANK HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,822.
I BEGAN TO SMELL GAS AROUND MY CAR ONE DAY, NOTICED THE NEXT DAY THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL UNDER MY VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE FOR THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK WE FOUND THAT THERE IS A PLASTIC ADAPTER THAT PLUGS A FUEL LINE INTO THE FUEL PUMP THAT IS CRACKED AND BUBBLING GAS. *TR
I OWN A 2009 CHEVY MALIBU AND VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CHEVY SERVICE CENTER FOR FUEL SMELL ON THE EXTERIOR OF VEHICLE ON 09-2013. CHEVY SERVICE CENTER FOUND CAUSE FUEL PUMP MODULE CRACKED AND REPLACED FAULTY PART AT NO CHARGE AND STATED THAT IT WAS COVERED UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. NHTSA/GM RECALLED 40,000. 2007-2009 CHEVY COLBALTS AND OTHER TWIN VEHICLES IN 09-2012 FOR FAULTY FUEL PUMP MODULES THAT CRACK AND CAUSE FUEL LEAKS THAT HAS A POTENTIAL OF IGNITING A FIRE. I'M HERE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST GM AND MAKE THE PUBLIC AWARE OF OTHER VEHICLES IN THE GM FAMILY THAT ARE NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL AND ADVISING NHTSA TO FURTHER INVESTIGATE 2007-2009 CHEVY MALIBU. *TR

BRAKE LIGHTS MALFUNCTION. THANK GOD, I WAS DRIVING BEHIND MY WIFE AND HER MALIBU'S BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT ON WHEN SHE BRAKED. AND THEN TURNED ON WHEN SHE DIDN'T HAVE HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, AND HE SAID HE'S BEEN SEEING THAT ALOT LATELY. PLEASE RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE HAS MAJOR ACCIDENT! THANK YOU *TR
FOR SEVERAL MONTHS MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL EITHER LOCK (AND YOU CANNOT GET OUT OF THE CAR) OR, ONCE YOU ARE OUT, THE DOOR LOCK PREVENTS THE DOOR FROM CLOSING. THIS HAS OCCURRED ONLY WHEN STOPPED, AT THIS POINT.THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT AND GIVES NO WARNING. I AM ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL; WHEN OUTSIDE LIGHTING IS DIM, IT OFTEN WILL NOT COME ON IF SET IN AUTO MODE. BOTH HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO DEALER AND I AM TOLD THEY "CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM- BRING IT BACK WHEN IT IS OCCURRING!". BOTH ISSUES RAISE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERNS FOR ME. I CERTAINLY HOPE GM ISN'T WAITING FOR SOME OF US OR FAMILY MEMBERS TO BE KILLED BEFORE THEY ACT TO CORRECT THESE ISSUES. *TR
THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM I DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS COULD ALSO BE AFFECTED. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE THE LIGHT IN THE REAR WINDOW WOULD ACTUALLY GO COMPLETELY OFF. THE REPAIR IS DESCRIBED IN TSB 08-05-22-009C AND WAS COMPLETED. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE FIXED. HOWEVER IT APPEARS THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH EARLIER GENERAL MOTORS MODELS AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL RECURRING. CHEVROLET HAS NOT SEND ANY KIND OF NOTICE TO OWNERS ABOUT THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE COMPUTER CODE C0131 IS ACTIVATED WHEN THIS OCCURS. *TR
THE VEHICLE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS ARE COMING ON WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ME PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS APPLIED THE BRAKE LIGHTS TEMPORARY GOES OFF BEFORE COMING BACK ON. *JS
BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS NO INDICATOR WHEN OR HOW THIS IS HAPPENING. IT HAS AFFECTED THE CRUISE CONTROL OPTION AS WELL AS THE TRACTION CONTROL ON THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ALL MOTORISTS - UNSURE WHEN A CARE IS ACTUALLY STOPPING AND OR ACCELERATING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL COME ON FOR NO REASON AND THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING WILL ACTIVATE. IF YOU TAP THE BRAKES THE LIGHTS WILL GO OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS BUT THEN COME BACK ON. IF YOU APPLY THE BRAKES TO STOP THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND PEOPLE BEHIND YOU ARE CONFUSED. WE GET HONKED AT AND HAND GESTURES CONSTANTLY. WE REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND IT WAS RECALIBRATED AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. WE CHECKED THE FUSE AND PUT DIALETRIC GREASE ON IT AS SUGGESTED BY THE DEALER AND STILL THE BRAKE LIGHTS ACTIVATE WITHOUT TOUCHING THE PEDAL. GM NEEDS TO FIX THIS BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. *TR
BOTH KEYLESS REMOTES HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO MALFUNCTIONS WHEN TRYING TO LOCK OR UNLOCK VEHICLE. BOTH TRANSMITTERS HAD TO BE REPLACED ACCORDING TO DEALER? VEHICLE ONLY HAD 42,245 MILES AND PURCHASED NEW. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON FOR ESC/TRACTION CONTROL AND ALSO MY BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON ACCELERATOR, I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THE BRAKE LIGHT TURNED OFF, BUT WHEN I ACCELERATED AGAIN THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AFTER A FEW SECONDS. ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND I WAS UNABLE TO ENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN I TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTART IT, THE SERVICE LIGHT TURNS OFF BUT ONLY MOMENTARILY. IT EVENTUALLY COMES BACK ON. EXTREMELY IRRITATING, INCONVENIENT, AND DANGEROUS! *TR
THE MALIBU MY WIFE AND I OWN HAVE HAD PROBLEM WITH THE LEFT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK NOT BEING ACTUATED WHEN COMMANDED. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN THE DOOR WAS COMMANDED TO LOCK, IT WOULD STAY UNLOCKED. BUT MORE SERIOUSLY, IT WOULD STAY LOCKED WHEN COMMANDED TO UNLOCK. I TOOK IT TO NEUVILLE MOTORS IN WAUPACA, WI, A GM/CHEVY DEALER, TO HAVE IT FIXED. ACCORDING TO A SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP, DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR MALFUNCTIONS IN MALIBUS FROM THAT MODEL YEAR IS COMMON AND HE SEES MANY OF THEM COME IN WITH EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS MY CAR'S. I BELIEVE A DOOR STAYING LOCKED WHEN COMMANDED TO OPEN IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IF A RAPID EVACUATION OUT OF THE VEHICLE BECOMES NECESSARY. ALSO, IF THE VEHICLE ROLLS ON THE SIDE OF THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF MALFUNCTIONING DOOR, EVACUATING PASSENGERS OCCUPYING REAR SEATS CAN BE A CHALLENGE AS THE ONLY DOOR AVAILABLE MAY STAY LOCKED WHEN COMMANDED TO UNLOCK. I HAVE CONTACTED GM, BUT THEY INSISTED THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE AS THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND A RECALL WAS NOT ISSUED BY YOUR ADMINISTRATION. THE REFERENCE NUMBER OF MY COMPLAINT WITH GM IS [XXX]. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF CHILDREN/ELDERLY/PETS ARE OCCUPYING THE REAR SEAT, OR THE PASSENGER IN THE BACK SEAT BECOMES UNCONSCIOUS IN CASE OF A CRASH. 2009 MALIBU BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING THEN WHEN I PRESS MY BRAKES THE LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF NO ONE KNEW WHEN I WAS USING MY BRAKES. THIS WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION WHEN I WAS ON A MAJOR HWY/SPEED LIMIT 70 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN TRAFFIC WAS STOPPING. THE CARS BEHIND ME WERE COMING AT A HIGH SPEED, BUT LUCKILY THE CAR DIRECTLY BEHIND ME JUST SHORT OF CRASHING INTO MY REAR MISSED ME. . HE GOT OUT OF HIS CAR WHILE THE TRAFFIC WAS STOPPED AND APPROACHED ME TO LET ME KNOW I HAD NO BREAK LIGHTS AND HE ALSO NOTICED THAT PRIOR TO STOPPING MY BREAK LIGHTS WERE ON. IN THE MEANTIME I HAD WARNINGS POP UP ON MY CAR SERVICE TRACTION/ESC SERVICE. WELL OF COURSE, MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO A SHOP WHERE IT SHOWED A BREAK SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND SWITCH BRAKE NEEDED TO BE CALIBRATED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE BREAK SWITCH FAILED WHEN THEY PERFORMED BRAKE POSITION CALIBRATION. THE GENTLEMEN SAID THAT THE SWITCH COULD BE BAD EVEN THOU IT WAS A NEW ONE THAT WAS PURCHASED FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED IT AGAIN AND RE-CALIBRATED AND AFTERWARDS SAID EVERYTHING WORKS WELL. WITHIN TWO WEEKS THE PROBLEM WITH BREAKS ARE STILL THERE. THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WE HAVE WITH THE 2009 MALIBU. I?M JUST LUCKY I?M STILL ALIVE. WHAT UPSETS ME THE MOST IS THE PROBLEM IS THERE, BUT DEALERSHIPS WANT TO KEEP REPLACING PARTS AND CHARGING YOU $$$$ FOR SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! *JS

DRIVERS SEAT FRAME BROKE WHILE DRIVING. *TR
I HAVE A 2009 MALIBU, A LITTLE OVER 73000 MILES. 7/21/2013 WHILE IN PARK THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AND PULSING. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND IT STOPPED. I GOT ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AND PULSING AND SHIFTING. I HAVE TO KEEP 2 HANDS ON THE WHEEL AS NOT TO BE SHIFTED FROM LANES. I TAKE THE CAR WEDNESDAY TO A GM DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME IT WASN'T CALIBRATED AFTER AN ALIGNMENT, AND THEY CALIBRATED IT DONE AND ALIGNMENT AND ROTATED THE TIRES. I PAY $220 FOR THIS SERVICE AND LEAVE. I GET HOME WITH NO PROBLEMS. VERY NEXT MORNING THURSDAY, I START MY CAR AND IT STARTS THE SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN. IT SHAKES AND PULSES ALL THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP WHILE SHIFTING ME IN LANES. AFTER WAITING FOR AROUND AN HOUR AND A HALF, I AM TOLD THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING MOTOR IS OUT AND IT IS NEARLY $700. THIS IS $920 FOR A MOTOR IN A 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH 73000 MILES. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE CONSIDERING IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 2 HANDS ON THE VEHICLE AND PAYING VERY CLOSE ATTENTION YOU MAY END UP IN UP IN THE LANE BESIDE YOU. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND FOUND 100S OF COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS SAME PROBLEM. I AM AMAZED THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH GM. *TR
SEATS - FRONT DRIVER POWER SEAT, THERE IS A BRACKET OR BRACE THAT GOES ACROSS THE FRONT AND SUPPORTS THE SEAT, IT IS WELDED, THE WELD IS BROKEN, AFTER DOING FORUM AND GOOGLE SEARCHES THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR YEARS WITH THE BROKEN WELD, CAUSING THE SEAT TO BECOME UNSTABLE AND ALLOWED TO ROCK WHILE DRIVING. ENGINE - THE FRONT ENGINE OIL SEAL OR CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SEAL IS PRONE TO LEAKING, THERE IS SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR A 6 CYL MODEL, APPARENTLY THE 4CYL MODEL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE FIX IS TO HAVE THE SEAL REPLACED WITH AN UPDATED STYLE CONSTRUCTED WITH A BETTER SPRING AND SEAL WIPER. THIS CAN CAUSE A SUBSTANTIAL OIL LEAK, EVEN THOUGH THIS COULD NOT CAUSE (TO THE BEST I KNOW) A SERIOUS PROBLEM, IT DOES CAUSE OIL TO LEAK ALONG THE FRAME AND ONTO THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE AND POSSIBLY ONTO THE EXHAUST PIPING BEHIND THE ENGINE. IT ALSO CAUSE AN ENVIRONMENT ISSUE CAUSING MOTOR OIL TO LEAK ONTO THE GROUND. *TR

ESC OFF" WAS DISPLAYED ACROSS THE MESSAGE BOARD. THE ESC WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE ANOTHER PERSON WROTE ABOUT. I WAS DRIVING WHEN A CAR PULLED UP NEXT TO ME TO TELL ME THAT WHEN I BRAKE, MY BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T GO ON BUT WHEN I BEGIN TO DRIVE AGAIN, THEY GO ON. SUDDENLY THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, FRONT AND BACK, BEGAN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY.THE REMOTE KEY FOB DOES NOT WORK, AND THE MANUAL BUTTON TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOORS DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. THE LOCKS ONLY PARTIALLY LOCK, RESULTING IN THE DOORS BEING ABLE TO BE PARTIALLY PULLED OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. SOMETIMES THE TWO LOCKS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DO NOT LOCK AT ALL. HELLO, MY CAR'S SERVICE TRACTION AND SERVICE ESC LIGHT TURNS ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE BRAKE LIGHTS BEHAVE IN THE OPPOSITE WAY, I.E. THEY STAY ON DURING NORMAL DRIVING, TURN OFF WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND TURN BACK ON WHEN I RELEASE THE BRAKE. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK WHENEVER THIS HAPPENS. I DO NOT EXPERIENCE ANYTHING DIFFERENT WHILE DRIVING AND I BELIEVE THIS IS A SENSOR/CIRCUITRY ISSUE. I READ THROUGH THE FORUMS AND NEWS WEBSITES AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN A LOT OF CHEVY VEHICLES. THERE IS A TSB ON THIS ISSUE AND RECALLS FOR A FEW CARS. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AS IT MIGHT LEAD TO ACCIDENTS WHEN SOMEONE DRIVING BEHIND MY CAR SEES THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT TURNS OFF WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WOULD LIKE GM/CHEVROLET LO HELP ME OUT HERE AND FIX THIS ISSUE WITHOUT MAKING ME PAY FOR IT BUT THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED POSITIVELY. THE DEALERSHIP CHARGES $110 JUST FOR DOING SIMPLE DIAGNOSTICS. BUT THIS ISSUE IS SOMETHING PRETTY COMMON TO A LOT OF CHEVROLET CARS AND IS NOT A WEAR RELATED ISSUE. GM OR CHEVROLET SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX THE ISSUE. THINGS WORK FINE WHEN IT IS COLD. THIS IS DEFINITELY RELATED TO HEAT BECAUSE IN THE SPRING AND FALL THIS IS ONLY A PROBLEM WHEN THE SUN SHINES ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CAR. FURTHERMORE, IN THE SUMMER THE LOCK WILL OFTEN WORK AFTER RUNNING THE A/C FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO. I THINK THIS PROBLEM STARTED WHEN THE CAR WAS 3-4 YEARS OLD. WE CAN USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, AND IF WE USE THE REMOTE FOB FIRST, THE ALARM WON'T SOUND. JUST THE SAME, IT IS AGGRAVATING.
