CAR NOTED POWER STEERING ON THE DASH. WENT TO ALL LOCAL MACHANICS FOR THEM TO SAY THAT IT'S A FUSE THAT NOONE CARRIES. EVERY SINCE I OWNED MY MALIBU IT HAS BEEN RANDOM THINGS THAT I AS A BUYER THINK CHEVY SHOULD HAVE FIXED. THE REAR TAIL LIGHT FOR EXAMPLE 6 OUT OF 10 MALIBU THIRD BRAKE LIGHT IS OUT WHY? IT'S A COSTLY FIX. BUT THIS WITH THE STEERING IS OUT OF THE BLUE AND LOOKS AS IF I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE LOOKING AT THESE YOUTUBE VIDEOS THEY ARE AN ISSUE.. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL ESC LIGHT COMES ON AND SAYS SERVICE THEN ESC OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. SEAT BELTS FAIL. SAFETY ISSUE. AND OUR WILL NOT START BECAUSE THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED FOR NO REASON. ALL OF THESE ARE CONSISTENT WITH SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS. GM SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR SELLING VEHICLES THAT FAIL. APPROXIMATELY 78,000 MILES. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL STEP UP AND CORRECT THESE PROBLEMS!!
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN POWER STEERING STARTED SHAKING LEFT TO RIGHT BUT THERE WERE NO WARNINGS ON THE DASH ABOUT POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONS. TIRES ARE NEW AND AT THE PROPER AIR SETTINGS.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT/BRAKE LIGHT STOPS WORKING RANDOMLY WITH BUMPY ROADS. IT GOES OUT AND WILL GO BACK ON USUALLY WITHIN THE NEXT FEW BUMPS, AND ITS NOT ALL THE TIME.
I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM CREST AUTO MALL AND 1 WEEK LATER THE SUSPENSIONS GETS MESSED UP AND THEN 1 MONTH LATER THE ENGINE BLOWS UP NOW MY CAR IS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY!
BRAKE LIGHTS CONSTANTLY STAY ON 24/7. SERVICE ESC,TRACITION, AND SVC TIRE MONITOR LIGHTS STAY ON DASH. INTERIOR LIGHTS DIM IN AND OUT IF THE WINDOW BUTTONS ARE PUSHED. PASSENGER DOOR GLITCHES SOMETIMES WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE NOR OUT. LOCKING UNLOCKING STILL NOTHING. ETC... ETC.. OIL CONSUMPTION!!! I'M LOSING 100$S OVERTIME CONSTANTLY HAVING TO PUT A QUART IN DUE TO LOSING A QUART IN A DAYS TIME LIKE MAKES NO SENSE
MY LOW BEAM LIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT. I HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS 4 TIMES NOW WITH OEM BULBS AND ALSO THE WIRING HARNESS. AT FIRST IT WAS THE DRIVER'S SIDE ONLY NOW IT'S BOTH.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE AND STAY ON WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT PRESSED. THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. THE CAR ROUTINELY DISPLAYS "SERVICE ESC" AND " SERVICE TRACTION" MESSAGES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HIS SON WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN HIS BRAKES LIGHT WERE ILLUMINATED WITH THE STABILITY LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (RON NORRIS BUICK GMC1350 S WASHINGTON AVE, TITUSVILLE, FL 32780) FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIRS. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A REPLACEMENT STABILITY CONTROL MODULE. HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THIS FAILURE. THE CONTACT'S DAD WAS REFERENCING THIS FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
BRAKE LIGHTS FLICKER WHILE DRIVING WHEN NOT PRESSING ON THE BRAKES. ECS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON AND THE CAR IS JERKING WHILE DRIVING.
HELLO, MY CAR IS HAVING THE ISSUES DESCRIBED IN RECALL NUMBER 13036, MY BRAKE LIGHTS TURN ON WHILE NOT PRESSING THE BRAKE AND SOMETIMES WHEN BRAKING DO NOT TURN ON AT ALL. MY VIN # SAYS THAT MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED HOWEVER MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING THE ISSUES DESCRIBED. THIS ALL HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS DRIVING.

THE CONTACT HAD TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO REMAIN IN PARK. IN ADDITION, THE POWER TRAC CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. O'CONNOR CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (199 RIVERSIDE DR, AUGUSTA, ME 04330) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 12V460000 (POWER TRAIN) AND 14E044000 (STEERING), BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.
ESC , TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON. THEN REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WORK OPPOSITE OF STANDARD BRAKE LIGHT DESIGN. THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TWO YEARS NOW. THE DEALERSHIP JUST PATCHES THE REPAIR. THE REPAIR ONLY LASTS A FEW WEEKS.
LOW BEAM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS DIM WHEN IT WORKS AND GOES OUT OFTEN. SOMETIMES IT COMES BACK ON OUT OF NOWHERE. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST 7 MONTHS. I'VE CHANGED MY BULB ABOUT 6 TIMES IN THAT TIME FRAME.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE SEAT BELT WAS SECURELY BUCKLED, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWED THAT THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT IN USE. PROGRESSIVE CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 8000 HILLS AND DALES RD NW, MASSILLON OH 44646, (330)833 8564 WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT VEHICLE OWNERS WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR COSTS NOT COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY OR RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,879.
I HAVE A 2010 AND REPEATEDLY HAVE ISSUES. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER AS IT COMPLETELY LOST POWER IN RUSH HOUR. CAR DASH SAID SERVICE ABS, POWER, SAVER MODE, TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE ESC AND THEN DIED. I TOOK TO SHOP AND THEY REPLACED THE PCM IS WHAT THEY TOLD ME. CAR HAS SINCE HAD LOSE OF POWER, SLUGGISH, DIES PERIODICALLY, AND NOW ALMOST 3 YEARS AFTER THOUSAND DOLLAR REPAIR NOT TO MENTION THE AIR BAG LIGHT THAT IS ON THAT THEY ARE TELLING ME WILL COST AT LEAST 1000 DOLLARS AS WELL TO REPAIR AS MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT IT IS A SAFTEY CONCERN. MY CAR DIED AGAIN WHILE COMING THROUGH A INTERSECTION AND THE P0341 HAS COME UP AND BEEN REPLACE3D FOUR TIMES SINCE FEBRUARY 2019. THIS CAR IS A DANGER AND I AM FORCED TO DRIVE IT WHEN IT RUNS AS I HAVE SO MUCH MONEY INVESTED I CANT AFFORD A NEW ONE. I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND JUST ABOUT EVERY SENSOR UNDER THE HOOD INCLUDING SPARK PLUGS AND BATTERY AND CAR IS STILL ACTING UP. WHY ARE THEY NOT HELPING US. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED. IT STALLS SUDDENLY AND WITH LITTLE TO NO WARNING. I AM TERRIFIED TO TRANSPORT MY KIDS IN THIS CAR. PLEASE HELP US'
DRIVING CAR, PRESSED ON GAS PEDAL, CAR WILL NOT MOVE, HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER, WAS INFORMED I NEEDED NEW TRANSMMISION, CAR ONLY HAD 69,000 MILES AND WARRANTY IS EXPIRED!!!!
I BUY A BULB EVERY OTHER WEEK OR MONTH FOR MY HEADLIGHTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE KEEPS GOING OUT
EVEN AFTER BRAKE LIGHT RECALL FROM 2014, I CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATING WHEN I'M NOT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND TURNING OFF WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM 'FIXED' SEVERAL TIMES NOW, AND IT KEEPS HAPPENING. MOST RECENTLY, IN JANUARY 2019, AND NOW 6 MONTHS LATER, IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. WHILE I'M DRIVING (AND NOT ALWAYS WHILE I'M BRAKING), THE SERVICE TRACTION, SERVICE ESC, ESC OFF WARNINGS COME ON MY INFO DISPLAY, AS WELL AS THE TRACTION CONTROL IMAGE. FROM THAT MOMENT ON, WHILE I'M DRIVING AND NOT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ALL ILLUMINATED. WHEN I LIGHTLY PRESS ON THE BRAKE, THE LIGHTS GO OFF, UNLESS I CONTINUE TO PRESS HARDER ON THE PEDAL, AND THEN THEY'LL COME ON AGAIN. THIS IS SUCH A HAZARD WHILE I'M DRIVING THAT I DON'T EVEN WANT TO GO ANYWHERE. WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING? IF THIS WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED WITH THE RECALL, IT ABSOLUTELY WASN'T. I'VE SEEN OTHER PEOPLE REPORT THE SAME ISSUE ON THE ONLINE FORUMS, SO I KNOW I'M NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED NOW! I WILL BE GOING BACK TO THE DEALER WHO DID THE REPAIR IN JANUARY TO GET THIS FIXED AGAIN, BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I SHOULD NEED TO. IT SHOULDN'T CONTINUE TO HAPPEN IF IT IS REALLY BEING FIXED. SOMETHING ELSE IS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE.
4 CYLINDER WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL..I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION AND PARKING .....ALSO THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CONSTANTLY STAYS ON
I WAS STOPPED,WENT TO ACCELERATE,AND SUDDEN HARD SHIFT AS IT ACCELERATED. AFTER A FEW MILES,LOST ALL GEARS AFTER 2ND GEAR.ON INTERSTATE AT TIME WHEN LOST GEARS & CLOSE TO GETTING INTO MAJOR ACCIDENT. TOOK IT TO ASC CERTIFIED MECHANIC TO LEARN THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED,WIRING FROM BATTERY TO STARTED BURNED UP,BATTERY FAILUREM ALTERNATOR FAILED, AND ECM FAILED AS WELL. REPAIR COST APPROX $4600.00. SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT & CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON ALSO & P0013 CODE. LOOKED UP VEH HISTORY, SHOWS RECALLS ON SOME OF THIS WERE SUPPOSEDLY PERFORMED, BUT HARD TO BELIEVE. 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION, SO GM WON'T HONOR.
DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR FAILED TO OPEN BACK IN AUGUST 2015, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOW NOT OPEN AS OF 5/30/19. SO AS OF RIGHT NOW, NEITHER FRONT DOOR WILL OPEN. PULLED INTO A PARKING GARAGE AND TRIED EXITING THRU THE PASSENGER SIDE ( LIKE I HAVE THE LAST 3+ YEARS) AND DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. HAD TO CLIMB OUT THRU THE BACKSEAT.
EVERYTIME I DRIVING I LOSE THE CONTROL OF THE WHEEL BECAUSE IT START TO SHAKE EVEN WHEN IS PARKING. THE WHEEL SHAKES A LOT VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING
CAR INTERMITTENTLY STALLS GOING HOME FROM WORK, AND AROUND TOWN. NEVER STALLS IN THE EARLY MORNING (DARK OUT). THE WARMER THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS THE MORE IT STALLS, WITH THE HOTTEST DAY SO FAR CAUSING THE CAR TO HAVE TO BE TOWED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT RESTART UNTIL THE NEXT DAY WHEN IT WAS COOLER OUT. MOST STALLS HAPPEN WITHIN 7 TO 15 MINUTES ON THE SECOND TRIP OF THE DAY (AROUND 2 PM), AND THE CAR HAS TO SIT FOR 20 SECONDS OR LONGER BEFORE IT WILL RESTART. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FOR THIS EVENT. THE ELECTRICAL POWER IS STILL ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE STALL IS QUIET AND PRESSING THE GAS PEDDLE ONLY SPEEDS UP HOW FAST IT STALLS. MOST OF THE STALLS HAPPEN AT 1500 RPM OR LESS, AND 45 MPH OR LESS. THE STALLS HAPPEN WHILE MOVING, ACCELERATING, SLOWING DOWN, WHILE STOPPED IN GEAR, AND STOPPED IN PARK. THE EVENT FEELS LIKE THE ENGINE POWER CUTS OUT WITH NO WARNING, AND THE RPM GAUGE AND CAR START SLOWING DOWN. IF THE CAR CAN COAST FOR 15 TO 20 SECONDS, IT HAS FIXED ITSELF AND STOPPED STALLING (AS LONG AS RPMS DID NOT DROP TOO FAR) ON A FEW OCCASIONS. CAR HAS BEEN TO DEALER 3 TIMES, AND IS GOING BACK AGAIN NEXT WEEK FOR SAME UNFIXED ISSUE. MOST DRIVING IS CITY DRIVING, AND IT HAS ONLY STALLED 2 TIMES WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS AROUND 55 MPH. CAR HAS STALLED 51 TIMES SINCE JANUARY OF THIS YEAR, WITH SOME ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS. IT IS STALLING MORE AND MORE THE WARMER IT GETS OUTSIDE. DEALER WORK DURING THIS TIME THAT DID NOT FIX ISSUE ARE, SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES, TIMING CHAIN AND COMPUTER, BATTERY, CLEANED THROTTLE BODY AND INJECTORS. DURING THE STALL EVENTS, MY LIVE SCANNER TOOL REPORTS BOTH O2 SENSORS GOT TO 0.00 VOLTS FROM START OF STALL TO END OF STALL. THE SHORT TERM FUEL TRIM GOES INTO THE 30 RANGE (LEAN), WHEN STALLING WHILE MOVING BUT NOT WHEN AT A STOP. NONE OF THIS LOGS ANY CODES IN THE COMPUTER. VERY SCARY, HAVING YOUR CAR STOP WITHOUT WARNING IN TRAFFIC.
I PURCHASED MY MALIBU FROM A FRIEND WHO BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW. HE TOLD ME THEY HAD THE RECALL FIXED. THE PROBLEM CAME BACK LAST YEAR, MARCH OF 2018, I CALLED GM THEY SAID THERE WASN'T A RECALL AND THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN FIXED. I SAID MAYBE SO BUT THE PROBLEM IS BACK. I WAS TOLD THE ONLY THING I COULD DO WAS TO TAKE IT TO A CHEVY DEALER AND HAVE THEM RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON IT, WHICH COSTS ABOUT $150 THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR. WHY WHEN WE KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS?! I TOOK IT TO A SHOP, JUNE 2018, WHERE THEY CHANGED THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH, I STILL HAD THE PROBLEM. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP WHERE THE POOR GUY WORKED ON IT FOR 3 HOURS, TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. HE FINALLY JUST CLEANED AND RE-GREASED THE PLUG AND IT HAS BEEN FINE UP UNTIL YESTERDAY, MAY 10,2019, AND MY PROBLEM IS BACK. ALSO, MY THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WORKS WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE IT.
THE DOOR LOCK GETS STUCK. THE DOORS WILL LOCK BY THEMSELVES. IF YOU ARE IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU WILL GET STUCK IN YOUR CAR FOR HOURS OR YOU WILL HAVE TO CRAWL THREW THE WINDOW TO GET OUT. YOU CAN USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, THE LOCK DOES SHOW IN THE "UPRIGHT" POSITION SHOWING THAT IT IS UNLOCKED, BUT THE LATCH IN THE DOOR DOES NOT UNHOOK. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT A HALF A DOZEN TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR, YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO HAPPEN EITHER MAKING THIS AWFUL SITUATION EVEN WORSE.
ENGINE GOES INTO REDUCED POWER MODE AFTER DASH TROUBLE LIGHTS SHOW, SERVICE ECU, TRACTION CONTROL ERRORS AND ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. SEVERE SAFETY THREAT WHEN IN REDUCED POWER MODE. P1682 CODE DEALER SAID IT WAS KNOCK SENSOR AND WIRING HARNESS, DID NOT RESOLVE. NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. THIS ALL HAPPENS WHILE EITHER DRIVING IT OR IDLE.
I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT. I KEEPS BURNING OUT. I HAVE REPLACED TWICE WITHIN A MONTH PERIOD. NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESS. PLEASE RECALL I'M TIRED OF TAKING THE WHOLE BUMPER OFF TO REPLACE A BULB.
THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD TWITCH THEN IT BECAME VERY HARD TO TURN WHILE IN MOTION. THE POWER STEERING AND ESC OFF LIGHTS CAME ON
BRAKE LIGHT CONSTANTLY FLUCTUATING WITHOUT THE BRAKE BEING PRESSED, VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME AND MY CHILD, HEADLIGHTS CONSTANTLY GOING OUT SPECIFICALLY THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, ALMOST GO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND PEOPLE THING I'M THE ONE PRESSING THE BRAKES, IT DOES THIS WHEN DRIVING OR WHEN IT PARKED, IF I TAP THE BRAKE IT'LL GO OFF FOR A FEW SECOND THEN COME RIGHT BACK ON. ALSO CAR KEEP THROWING A CODE SAYING IT'S RUNNING RICH EVEN THO I CAN LOCATE THE PROBLEM I BELIEVE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A SENSEOR OR WIRING OR THE FUEL INJECTOR, IF THERE ARE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE I WOULD LIE FOR THEM TO BE FIX ALL AT ONCE BECAUSE I HAVE TO USE THIS CARD DAILY FOR MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER AND I JUST WANT IT TO BE SAFE FOR MY CHILD AND I AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS IN THE ROAD.
STEERING WHEEL GETS STUCK WHEN VEHICLE IS ON. IT HAPPENED TWICE WHILE TRYING TO GET OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE.
THE ESC LIGHT COMES ON AND TELLS ME IT NEEDS SERVICED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN IF MY FOOT IS NOT ON THE BRAKE. IT ALSO HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE GEAR SHIFT WHEN TRYING TO PULL IT OUT OF PARK. THIS ALSO DISABLES MY CRUISE CONTROL. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS SOMETIMES AS SOON AS I START THE CAR OR AFTER DRIVING FOR A BIT. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR IN TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE SENSOR AND THAT WORKED FOR A WEEK THEN THE ESC LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAYED ON.

MY 2010 CHEVY MALIBU HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES INVOLVING MY HEADLIGHTS. I RECENTLY HAD THEM CHANGED TWICE AND NOW ABOUT A MONTH AND HALF LATER THEY ARE OUT AGAIN. EVERY NOW AND THEN I CAN TAP ON THEM AND THEY WILL COME ON. I JUST CHECKED THIS MORNING TO SEE IF THEY WORK AND NEITHER ONE OF THEM WILL TURN ON. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE AT NIGHT AT THIS POINT! I DO NOT WANT A TICKET AND HAVING MY BULBS REPLACED EVERY MONTH IS COSTLY. EVERYONE WANTS TO CHARGE 100+ TO CHANGE THE BULBS. IF I KNEW I WOULD BE HAVING THIS CONSTENT PROBLEM, I WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT A CHEVY!

I HAVE REPLACED MY PASSENGER HEADLIGHTS SEVERAL TIMES AND BLUB KEEPS BLOWING OUT. I AM TIRED OF REPLACING IT AND VERY COSTLY BECAUSE OF THE LABOR IT TAKES TO REPLACE IT. ALL OF SUDDEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING STALL AND LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE TO GET THE CAR OUT OF THE WAY. WHEN I TURNED IT OFF AND RESTARTED THE CAR IT DROVE NORMAL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.

MY STEERING IS LOCKING UP AND VIBRATING. IF TURNING THE STEERING AND KEY AT SAME TIME IT STARTS BACK WORKING.AND MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT. I'VE HAD THE WAITING HARNESS CHANGED AND IT STILL CONTINUE TO NOT WORK.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING ON MATCH 18, 2019. I WAS TURNING RIGHT ONTO BUSY 4 LANE CITY STREET FROM A PARKING LOT, SPEED < 5 MPH. COULD NOT TURN INTO RIGHT LANE, STRUGGLED TO SWING CAR INTO LEFT LANE W/O CROSSING MEDIAN. IT WAS NOT SIMPLY A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. I'VE DRIVEN OLD CARS THAT NEVER HAD POWER STEERING AND THIS WAS 10 TIMES MORE DIFFICULT TO STEER. I THINK I STRAINED A MUSCLE IN MY SHOULDER. TURNING DID NOT GET EASIER AS I ACCELERATED, EVENTUALLY TO ABT 40 MPH. STRUGGLED THROUGH 3 MORE HAIR RAISING TURNS (ALL TURNS MADE) BEFORE PARKING IT AT HOME. THE ESC/TCS INDICATOR CAME ON IN THE PARKING LOT AND STAYED ON. ERROR MSGS DISPLAYED WERE POWER STEERING, SERVICE ESC, SERVICE AIR BAG. I HEARD NO CHIMES. WE GAVE MY DAUGHTER THIS USED CAR IN 2015. SHE HAD COMPLAINED A COUPLE OF WEEKS PRIOR THAT STEERING SOMETIMES BECAME DIFFICULT. A SEARCH BY VIN SHOWS NO INCOMPLETE RECALLS. IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY USEFUL TO KNOW IF THIS CAR WAS PART OF A RECALL(S) AND THEN REPAIRED. IF IT WAS, IT WAS REPAIRED INCORRECTLY, NOT ALL PROBLEMS WERE RESOLVED, OR THE PARTS USED HAVE A SHORT LIFE SPAN. IF GM ISN'T COVERING THIS SITUATION, THAT'S A CRIME. ALSO, IF NOT COVERED BY GM I'LL TAKE IT TO OUR REGULAR MECHANIC SINCE HIS WORK IS MORE RELIABLE THAN THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP'S. IN 2012, WE WERE DRIVING ALONG AND ATTEMPTED TO BACK INTO A PARKING SPOT, WHEN THE CAR REFUSED TO REVERSE. IT STARTED GOING SLOWER THAN THE USUAL SPEED LIMIT, SO I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I PULLED OUT TO HEAD HOME, BUT THE CAR DIDN'T GET MUCH SPEED, NOR WOULD IT REVERSE AT ALL. I HAD IT TOWED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS BURNED OUT. I'D ONLY HAD THE CAR LESS THAN 30,000 MILES. CHEVROLET REPAIRED OR REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION. A YEAR LATER, I WAS PULLED OVER DUE TO THE TAIL LIGHTS NOT WORKING. 2016 THE CAR WOULDN'T PICK UP SPEED AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED AND THE TRANSMISSION HAD BURNED OUT AGAIN. WE GOT IT REBUILT A SECOND TIME AND NOW THE LIGHTS, WIPERS, DOOR LOCKS, AND WINDOWS AREN'T WORKING AGAIN EITHER. OBVIOUSLY THERE'S A MANUFACTURER ISSUE THAT NEEDS REVIEWING ON THIS YEAR MALIBU. *TR
ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING BUT THE BATTERY/ELECTRONICS WERE STILL ON. I SAFELY STOPPED THE CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CHECK ENGINE + ABS + TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I FINALLY HAD TO CALL A TOW COMPANY. NO MECHANIC KNOWS HOW TO FIX IT. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, MANY OWNERS OF THE SAME MAKE MODEL AND MODEL YEAR RANGE SUFFERED SIMILAR SITUATIONS. THE CAR STILL WON'T START TILL NOW.
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR MADE A HUM SOUND WHILE ACCELERATING WHEN I JUST GOT IN IT ON MY 2 MINUTE JOURNEY HOME. WHILE GOING STRAIGHT, THE CAR NO LONGER CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND STOPPED ON THE STREET. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR, THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND WOULD STILL NOT MOVE IN ANY GEAR.
BRAKE LAMP RECALL FOR THESE MODELS DO NOT WORK. I NOTICED THE ISSUE RECENTLY WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT AROUND 55 MPH AT NIGHT. MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON, WHILE MY FOOT IS OFF OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN I PLACE MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. THIS IS A SERIOUS DRIVING HAZARD. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO GET THE RECALL HANDLED, BUT NOTICED THIS MORNING, THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE STILL ILLUMINATING WHEN MY FOOT IS OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL.
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUSE BOX LOCATED IN THE TRUNK. MY CAR HAS COMPLETELY LOST ENGINE POWER WHILE DRIVING ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. FUEL PUMP, ALTERNATOR, AND BATTERY HAVE NEEDED REPLACED. THERE IS A SHORT IN OR NEAR THIS REAR FUSE BOX. FUEL PUMP RELAY HAS BEEN REPLACED, AND CONNECTIONS GREASED. TEMPORARILY FIXED, THEN A FEW DAYS LATER SHUTS OFF WHILE RUNNING. FROM RESEARCHING, THIS APPEARS TO BE EXTREMELY COMMON WITH THIS MODEL ACROSS MULTIPLE YEARS, WITH THE WIRE LEADING TO THE FUEL PUMP RELAY BURNING UP AND SHORTING. CLEARLY POOR WIRING. AT LEAST THREE TIMES MY CAR HAS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE IN MOTION WITH NO WARNING AT ALL. MULTIPLE CRANK/NO START SITUATIONS AS WELL. MY NEXT OPTION IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUSE BLOCK, BUT THAT WILL NOT FIX WIRING DESIGN. HAVE BEEN TOWED MULTIPLE TIMES IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.
