THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PHILLIPS CHEVROLET (1730 TORRENCE AVE, LANSING, IL), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO LIMITED STAFFING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND THE FUSES WERE CHECKED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,519.
FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW S 'SERVICE AIRBAG' LIGHT HAS BEEN ON, NO ONE WHO TESTS IT CAN SEE WHAT THE ISSUE IS. WHEN ANYONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE DASH TURNS OFF, ALL LIGHTS ON IT, STEREO, ALL GAUGES CEASE TO FUNCTION AS WELL AS THE A/C. HAS BEEN TAKEN TO NUMEROUS DEALERSHIPS & SHOPS WITH NO CONCLUSION BESIDES THAT 'IT'S AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE' THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED. I NOTICE MANY PEOPLE HAVE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ISSUES WITH THIS MAKE & MODEL WHEN I SEARCHED FOR A RECALL, ASTONISHING THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE & VINS EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM AREN'T ON THE RECALL LISTS. THE AIRBAGS IN THE CAR ARE FINE ACCORDING TO MECHANICS, NO REASON THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT SHOULD APPEAR & INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING THAT I CANT HAVE A PASSENGER IN MY VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY DURING ARIZONA SUMMER WEATHER, NOT TO MENTION THE DANGER POSED BY NO GAUGES BEING VISIBLE
CAR STARTS EVER NOW AND THAN. IT WON'T START ALL THE TIME AND BREAKS DOWN ALL THE ELECTRICAL IN THE CAR HAS PROBLEMS IF THE CAR STARTS IT WILL SHUT OFF AND THE STEERING LOCKS UP WHICH COULD KILL ME OR SOMEONE ELSE THE BREAKS WON'T WORK WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE LIGHTS SHUT OFF RADIO SHUTS OFF NOTHING ELECTRICAL WORKS I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR. NOT SURE WHAT IT IS AND THE DEALER ISN'T SURE WHAT IT IS
CAR RADIO TURNS TO BLACK ALONG WITH DASHBOARD CLUSTER DISPLAY, STEERING MAY OR MAY NOT WORK DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY OF THE COMPUTER RESTART. IN SEVERE RESTARTS THE RADIO IS NEITHER ON NOR ARE ANY CLIMATE CONTROL OPTIONS. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO OCCUR DURING LOW ACCELERATION OR AT IDLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU ECO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING, THE BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE ENGINE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BOB BELL CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 1 KANE ST, BALTIMORE, MD 21224; WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 10 MPH, THE BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS THE NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-521-7300. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE NUMBER 8-3240086194 WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY CHEVROLET 2013 MALIBU LTZ MY STABILTRACK LIGHT AND SERVICE POWER STEERING PUMP LIGHT CAME ON MY DASH IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS ANY WHERE FROM ZERO TO THIRTY MILES PER HOUR THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY LOSE ENGINE POWER AND WILL STALL BUT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WILL STAY ON BUT THE HEAD LIGHTS GO OUT AND THE POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT MAKING THE VEHICLE HARD TO TURN. THE CAR DIES JUST ABOUT EVERY TIME I AM EITHER ACCELERATING FROM 0 MPH TO ANY LOW SPEED UNLESS I SLAM ON THE GAS PEDAL. IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC IM RESTARTING MY MALIBU EVERY 3 SECONDS AFTER IT DIES. IT'S IS SO DANGEROUS IF I HAVE TO TURN AND THEIR IS ONCOMING TRAFFIC CAUSE THE CAR COULD JUST DIE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TURN AND BE SMASHED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS HAPPENS ON THE STREET ON THE HIGHWAY ANYWHERE IM DRIVING . CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY HELD IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND SAID IT WAS A OIL PUMP SOLENOID VALVE BEING STUCK. AS SOON AS I DROVE OFF THE LOT I DIDNT EVEN GET AROUND THE CORNER AND THE CAR DIED AT A LOW SPEED AND THE STABILITY LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE POWER STEERI MY PUMP AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. VEHICLE HAS TO BEEN TAKEN IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR FAILURE ALSO. CAR FAILURES HAVE BEEN COMMON SINCE THE DATE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE
SOON AS MY CAR HIT 47000 MIKES IT STARTED LOOSING POWER. I WOULD BE DRIVING AND THE RADIO GOES OFF AND THEN I LOOSE POWER STEERING FOR A BRIEF TIME. NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. HAS DONE THUS AT LEAST 12 TIMES!
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT (EVERYTHING BLINKED OFF FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THEN BACK ON) PULLING THE CAR TO THE LEFT SUDDENLY AND MY CAR WENT INTO THE MEDIAN AND HIT A TREE. WHEN THE POWER CAR CAME BACK ON IT SAID SERVICE POWER STEERING AND THEN SERVICE STABILI TRAC. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE.

THE RADIO/NAVIGATION IN MY VEHICLE RANDOMLY TURNS OFF. I BEGAN A SEARCH ON THE WEB TO SEE IF THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE ONLY TO FIND THAT THIS IS A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE AND IT COULD LEAD TO MORE DANGEROUS PROBLEMS, YET CHEVY WON'T RECALL IT AND THE NHTSA DOESN'T SEEM TO WANT TO GET INVOLVED. THE CLOCK WASN'T APPEARING ON THE SCREEN. THE CLOCK THEN READ 23:32 BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY 7:45 P.M. IS IT GOING TO TAKE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY FOR ATTENTION? THE VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS WHEN I START IT AND WHILE I'M DRIVING. NOT ALL OF THE MENU ITEMS REAPPEAR ON THE TOUCH SCREEN AFTER THE PROBLEM STARTS. SO FAR, I HAVE NOT HAD ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES, BUT THIS IS SCARY, AND I WILL FILE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IF THINGS GET WORSE.
FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT FEMALE RECEIVER BUCKLE WILL NOT LATCH THE MALE PORTION OF THE SEATBELT. THIS WAS FIRST NOTED WHEN MY GRANDSON WAS TRYING TO PUT ON THE SEATBELT. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT THE TIME. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES EVER SINCE.
MY NAME IS [XXX] I BOUGHT A 2013 CHEVY MALIBU THREE WEEKS AGO. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING HEADACHE, WEAK , DIZZINESS AND NAUSEOUS . I HAVE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND THEY CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. I WANTED TO KNOW OF THERE IS ANY RECALL FOR THE MANIFOLD EXHAUST, CATALYTIC CONVERTER,OR ALL EXHAUST SYSTEM,BUT SOMETHING MOST BE WRONG DEALER DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING,AND STILL HAVE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A TURN AND THE STEERING LOST POWER. THE SERVICE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AT: GEORGE MATICK CHEVROLET, 313-531-7100, WHERE A MULTI POINT INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED AND THE POWER STEERING MODULE WAS ALSO REPROGRAMMED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE SAME DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS RECOMMENDED BUT NOT COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,060.
WHILE GETTING ON THE EXPRESSWAY THE CAR CUT OFF ON THE RAMP WHILE GOING 24MPH. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN ON HAZARD LIGHTS, NOTHING AT ALL WOULD WORK. I COULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE CAR. I COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY EITHER. I HAD TO WAIT APPROXIMATELY 3 MINS FOR THE CAR TO LIGHT UP AND THEN I COULD RESTART THE CAR. ON THE WAY HOME ON THE RAMP ON THE EXPRESSWAY THE CAR LOST POWER STEERING AND JERKED TO THE LEFT. THE ENIGINE DID NOT STOP THIS TIME. IN THIS CASE FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO INJURIES.
7/31/17 MY CAR WOULDNT START DASHBOARD SAID SERVICE BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM-ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE BATTERY (WHICH WAS AT 83%) MY FATHER JUMPED MY CAR THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO TURN BUT IT STARTED AND WITHIN 5 MILES THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP (8/1/17-AT THIS TIME I ALSO OPENED A CASE WITH GM DUE TO AN OPEN RECALL THAT MY VIN DIDNT FIT BUT ISSUE WAS VERY SIMILAR) AFTER 4 DAYS OF WAITING (8/4/17) THEY SAID IT WAS JUST MY BATTERY-THEY REPLACED MY BATTERY AND 8/5/17 2 DAYS AFTER PICKING MY CAR UP MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND TODAY IS THE SOONEST THEY COULD DO A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC ON MY CAR SO I WILL BE DROPPING IT OFF..FYI I CALLED GM 08/03/17 TO ASK THAT THEY TOW MY CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP SINCE THE ONE I PAID TO HAVE IT TOWED TO WAS TAKING SO LONG TO GET TO IT AND WAS TOLD BY A SENIOR ADVISOR, ALEETHA, THAT THEY RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER ON 08/01/17 STATING THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS THE ISSUE AND THEY WERENT GOING TO COVER IT I ADVISED THAT I HAD JUST SPOKEN WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT THEY HADNT EVEN TAKEN A LOOK AT MY CAR NEEDS TO SAY ALEETHA TOLD ME I WASNT CAR SAVVY ENOUGH TO KNOW WHETHER THE LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS AFFECTING MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM (I HAD MY LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACED 11/2016) AND THERE WAS NOTHING SHE COULD DO I ASKED THAT WE DO A CONFERENCE CALL WITH THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER AND SHE STATED SHE WOULD CALL ME RIGHT BACK WITH HER ON THE PHONE AND I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HER. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEVER CONTACTED GM WITH THAT INFORMATION BECAUSE MY CAR STILL HADNT BEEN LOOKED AT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-3108717924. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY AND THAT THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,900.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HAWK CHEVROLET OF JOLIET (2001 W JEFFERSON ST, JOLIET, IL 60435) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAM SHAFT SOLENOID FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL BACK. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000.
PURCHASED THIS 2013 MALIBU LT IN AUGUST OF 2016. AFTER ABOUT A MONTH, I STARTED EXPERIENCING POWER FAILURE AND POWER STEERING LOSS WHILE DRIVING. ON SOME OCCASIONS, THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND POWER FAILURE IS TRIGGERED BY ENGAGING THE TURN SIGNAL. SEARCHED YOUTUBE AND DISCOVERED THAT DOZENS OF OTHER 2013 MALIBU OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. THE SCARY PART OF THIS ISSUE IS THAT THE CAR STALLS OUT COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT ANY GIVEN SPEED. AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT AS WELL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES SINCE ABOUT A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE AUGUST 2016; THE LAST EXPERIENCE WAS ON THIS PAST FRIDAY, JULY 7, 2017.THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I HAVE ALREADY EXPERIENCED TWO NEAR-MISS ACCIDENTS. I'VE READ SEVERAL POSTS OF OTHERS WHO HAVE SPENT MONEY ON DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIRS ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THE PROBLEM REOCCURS. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO WASTE ON FRUITLESS REPAIRS AS I'M STILL PAYING A NOTE PLUS FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE ON THIS VEHICLE. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY COMPLAINTS THAT IT WILL TAKE FOR SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM, BUT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE IN A HURRY.
WE PD 3000 DOWN ON A CHEVY MALIBU FROM NIMNICHT CHEVROLET 1550 CASSATT AVE JACKSONVILLE FLA 32210 ON JULY 5 IT WAS PARKED FOR THREE DAYS WHEN WE BOUGHT I BECAUSE I BECAME VERY SICK. JULY 8 MY HUSBAND WENT TO GO TO THE STORE HE GOT TO THE STORE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON HE TOOK IT RIGHT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT IT A WEEK SAID IT WAS FIXED WE WENT TO GET IT DROVE IT HOME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WE TOOK IT RIGHT BACK ASKED FOR THE MANAGER TOLD THEM WE WANTED OUR MONEY BACK THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T WE ASKED FOR ANOTHER CAR THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T THEY PROMISED IT WOULD BE FIXED SO IT STAYED THERE AGAIN THEY CALLED US AGAIN PROMISED IT WAS FIXED LIKE A NEW ONE .WELL THIS WAS AUG THE 1ST NOW THEY CALL US TELL US ITS FIXED FOR SURE THIS TIME. WE DROVE IT HOME AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN!!!!! THIS HAS BEEN SO STRESSFUL ME AND MY HUSBAND ARE DISABLED HE JUST HAD KNEE SURGERY. ITS BOUT TO MAKE ME HAVE A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE UNTIL SOMEONE PROVIDED JUMPER CABLES TO JUMPSTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SMOKE ODOR EMITTING FROM THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V173000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). MY VEHICLE WAS NOT STARTING. STARTED AFTER A JUMP. THE NEXT DAY I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT START AFTER A JUMP. I TESTED THE BATTERY, IT WAS GOOD. I TESTED THE ALTERNATOR, IT WAS GOOD. I GOT THE BATTERY CHARGED AND THE VEHICLE STARTED THAT DAY AND THE NEXT DAY. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON THE ISSUE, I FOUND A RECALL ON 2013 CHEVY MALIBU ECO CARS FOR LOSS OF BATTERY CHARGE DUE TO A MALFUNCTIONING GCM. THE RECALL DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH MY VEHICLE DOWN TO THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT COMING ON, WHICH IT DID. HOWEVER, AFTER SEARCHING FOR RECALLS USING MY VIN THERE WEREN'T ANY OPEN. I CHECKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AND THAT RECALL HAD NOT BEEN SERVICED ON MY VEHICLE. I FEEL THAT THAT RECALL SHOULD BE OPEN ON MY VEHICLE.
I WAS TURNING FROM A PRIVATE DRIVE AND COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WAS IN A 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU LS TRAVELLING AT APPROXIMATELY 15MPH, THE OTHER DRIVER IN A 2010 HONDA ACCORD TRAVELLING AT APPROXIMATELY 45-55MPH. THE COLLISION WAS BETWEEN MY FRONT LEFT AND HIS FRONT RIGHT, NO PASSENGERS. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED FROM EITHER VEHICLE, AND AS MINE DID NOT DEPLOY, I RECEIVED A CONCUSSION WHEN THE BACK OF MY HEAD BROKE THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS PART OF TAKATA, AS I CANNOT FIND THE MANUFACTURER OF MY CAR'S AIRBAGS. CHEVROLET PROVIDED NO INFORMATION AS TO THE MANUFACTURER OR WHY AT LEAST THE CURTAIN AIRBAG WOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED TO PREVENT CONCUSSION.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY AT AROUND 50 MPH I WENT TO SLOW DOWN AND REALIZED I HAD LOST MY BRAKES.I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BY DOWNSHIFTING THE AUTOMATIC AND APPLYING A HUGE AMOUNT OF FORCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH 50,000 MILES ON IT THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD COMPLETELY LOST THE BRAKE BOOSTER
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR THE RADIO PANEL, AIR CONDITIONING, CONTROL PANEL AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT. WHEN DRIVING OVER 45 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE WILL NOT STOP. HOWEVER, WHEN DRIVING 45 MPH OR BELOW ON CITY STREETS, THE CAR WILL SHUT COMPLETELY OFF AND I WILL HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR. EVERYTHING GOES COMPLETE OFF. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. THE CAR HAS HAD THIS ISSUE WHILE IN TRAFFIC AND I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND. FORTUNATELY, WE WERE PULLING OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT AND THE IMPACT WAS NOT ENOUGH TO CAUSE AN INJURY. I HAVE RESEARCHED ON YOUTUBE AND ONLINE AND THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER CONSUMERS WITH THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER COMES ON BUT IT DOES SAY SERVICE POWER STEERING AND SERVICE STABILI TRAK. SOMETIMES WHEN THE CAR IS NOT MOVING (PARKED) IT WILL ALSO CUT OFF. ONCE, I WENT TO START THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START AND IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO REMOVE THE KEY. I TRIED MAKING SURE THE CAR WAS IN PARK (WHICH I KNEW IT WAS BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR HOURS) BUT NOTHING WOULD MOVE. I ALMOST HAD IT TOWED AND THEN OUT THE BLUE EVERYTHING POPPED ON. CHEVROLET ADVISED THAT THEY "THINK" IT COULD BE THE BATTERY CABLES AND THE FUSE BOX BUT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THIS WILL FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALREADY PAID 167.00 FOR THEM TO "TIGHTEN" THE CABLES AND TELL ME WHAT THEY "THINK" MAY BE THE ISSUE. I ALSO HAVE VIDEO OF THE CAR WHILE HAVING THIS ISSUE BUT IT IS NOT IN THE FORMAT ALLOWED FOR UPLOAD. THE LAST TIME IT HAD THIS ISSUE WAS TODAY 07/28/2017.
SINCE WE BOUGHT THIS CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON EVERY FEW MONTHS. THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REBUILT TO FIX "A STUCK CYLINDER" AND THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN AND IT SEEMS THAT THE CAR HAS NO PICK UP WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PUSHED. IT SEEMS TO HESITATE. THIS IS THE WORST CARE I HAVE EVER OWNED.

I HAD FOUR RECALLS DONE ON 3/17/17 AT EMERSON CHEVY IN AUBURN, ME. 15176, 12212, 13142, AND 13342. CAR HAD BEEN TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHEN IT DIED ON SIDE OF ROAD. THEN ABOUT TWO MONTHS LATER, IT DIES ON SIDE OF ROAD AGAIN (BATTERY NOT CHARGING AGAIN!!). PAID OVER $1,000 TO GOODWIN CHEVROLET IN OXFORD, ME TO SUPPOSEDLY FIX IT. ON 6/1/17, MY DAUGHTER WENT OFF THE ROAD WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN (BATTERY DRAIN, STEERING FAILS, ETC. LUCKILY SHE WAS NOT GOING VERY FAST AND WENT INTO A FIELD. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOME ONE GETS KILLED!
GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED. 464.00 AT PAUL MASSE CHEVROLET IN EAST PROVIDENCE RI. THE INDICATOR CAME ON TELLING ME TO SHIFT IN PARK WHEN IT WAS ALREADY IN PARK. FAULTY MANUFACTURING IN THE PART.

HENDRICKS CHEVROLET OF NORTH CAROLINA DIAGNOSED THAT THE GENERATOR IN THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED, BUT THE DEALER DISCOVERED THAT THE GENERATOR CONTROL MODULE WAS ALSO FAULTY. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER STATED THAT A REPAIR WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE IN 2012. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED PRODUCT SAFETY NUMBER: 12238, WHICH PROVIDED COVERAGE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE GENERATOR; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IT HAD EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,812.

HEATER WILL COME ON FULL BLAST, ON IT'S OWN, AFTER STARTING CAR WHILE PARKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN 3 TIMES AND THE HEATER WASN'T EVEN TURNED ON! I HAVE TO TURN HEATER OFF MANUALLY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY BATTERY SINCE IT WASN'T CHANGED IN AWHILE SO I HAVE THE BATTERY REPLACED. THE CAR WAS FINE NOW TWO MONTHS LATER IT DID IT ALL OVER AGAIN.. I'M GETTING READY TO TURN AND AGAIN EVERYTHING SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING THEN CUTS BACK ON. I'M VERY FRUSTRATED I PAY A CAR NOTE AND INSURANCE AND I DON'T HAVE MONEY TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED.. THERE ARE SOOOO MANY COMPLAINTS I JUST WISH IT WOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED. THE BRAKE BOOSTER GAVE OUT WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT. I WAS ABLE TO STOP BUT IT WAS DIFFICULT AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME CON AND ENGINE HAD A ROUGH IDLE. HAD TO TOW CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND VERIFIED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THERE IS NOT A RECALL OR WARRANTIED SO $800.00 LATER IT WILL BE SAFE BUT BUT I WILL BE SET BACK. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ON 2014 MODELS. GOOD FOR THOSE OWNERS.
THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS MODEL BUT IT DID NOT INCLUDE MY CAR'S VIN FOR SOME REASON. I HAVE HAD DEALERSHIP REPAIR THE PROBLEM TWICE, ONCE WHILE STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND THEN RECENTLY DUE TO AIRBAG HARNESS WIRING SHEARING OFF. THE DEALERSHIP REPAIRED THE WIRING AND CHARGED ME THE DEDUCTIBLE UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT ADVISED THE ISSUE COULD HAPPEN AGAIN DUE TO FAULTY DESIGN ENGINEERING. THE ISSUE HAPPENS APPARENTLY WHILE RAISING AND LOWERING THE DRIVER SEAT. THE WIRING HARNESS CAN EASILY GET CAUGHT IN THE GEAR MECHANISM.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY OPEN RECALLS AND RECOMMENDED TAKING THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED FOR THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER'S FOR MORE DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS ABOUT 106,000.
THE HEAT AND AIR STOPPED WORKING ENTIRELY, CAUSING THE DEFROST TO ALSO FAIL, CREATING A VISIBILITY HAZARD. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I DISCOVERED THAT MANY 2013 AND 2014 MALIBUS WERE RECALLED DUE TO THIS EXACT ISSUE BUT MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN THE RECALL DATES. THE PROBLEM IS THE SAME BUT MY CAR ISN'T COVERED IN THE RECALL.

ON TOP OF THAT TOOK CAR TO DEALER SHIP AND THEY DIDN'T HANDLE ISSUE UNTIL MY SECOND VISIT TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY I HAD TO PAY 100$ AND FIND OUT MY STABILITY SERVICE LIGHT, AND LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ARE ON DUE TO A REAR BEARING HUB BEING BROKE AND THE SENSOR NOT BEING ABLE TO DETECT SPEED CAUSING MY RPM TO BE AS THE TECHNICIAN CALLED IT DRIVE ERRATIC AND TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING UNTIL 4-6,000 RPMS. ALSO NEEDS A FUEL INJECTION, AND THEY MENTION A FRONT TURN SIGNAL BEING OUT WHICH I NEVER HAD ANY INDICATION OR KNOWLEDGE OF MY HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. ALSO, BEGAN TALKING TO CHEVROLET AS I WAS ON THEIR SIGHT AND SEEN RECALLS WHICH I HADN'T BEEN NOTIFIED AND WONDER IF SOME ISSUES THAT ARE OCCURRING ARE FROM PREVIOUS RECALLS THAT WERE BELIEVED TO HAVE NOT AFFECTED ME? IS THAT POSSIBLE? I AM A FULL TIME STUDENT, IN DEBT WITH LOANS AND CAR PAYMENTS AS I DON'T GET ANY SUPPORT FROM FAMILY. THE STEERING ISSUE OCCURRED VERY BADLY AND SUDDENLY ON 3/13/2017. STABILITRAC SERVICE WARNING LIGHT ABS AND TRACTION LIGHTS HAVE BEEN ON SINCE FEBRUARY 15 WENT TO DEALERSHIP ON 20TH THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK WHEN I MENTIONED IT, THE ISSUE WASN'T LOOKED AT OR EVEN NOTED JUST MAY NEED 2 FRONT TIRES. CURRENTLY AT 75,259 MILES I GOT THE CAR IN 2015 WITH ABOUT 45,000 MILES. DO HAVE DOCUMENTS FROM THE TWO VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ONE VISIT FROM ANOTHER MECHANIC. ALSO DIDN'T REALIZE A RECALL OR ISSUE HAS OCCURED WITH A SOLENOID AS MY ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND AFTER TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC SHOP VERSUS THE DEALERSHIP I PAID 400$ AND FOUND OUT THAT WAS RECALLED AT ONE POINT PRIOR TO ME OWNING THE VEHICLE.
