The Generator control module failed on the vehicle causing the battery to lose charge and then the car to shut down. When looking for the part online I came across a bulletin 13142c which talked about the same exact issue that I faced. according to the bulletin the gcm was to have been replaced, however when searching the service history at the Chevy dealer there was a note that the gcm had been inspected, but never replaced. I am looking into this matter to see if I can be reimbursed for the costs of the labor and parts related to the gcm. On a side note this failure did come directly after the car was in a accident where the driverside front end of the car was damaged. The technicians said that the gcm failure had no relationship to the accident.
I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR ON MARCH 16, 2019, AFTER SEVERAL DAYS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, DEALERSHIP CLEANED THE INJECTORS AND 2 DAYS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN...NOW THEY SAY IT NEEDS NEW INJECTORS, BUT THE CAR ONLY HAS 79,000 MILES ON IT...
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND APPARENTLY THE VAPOR CANISTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 49K MILES. CRAPPY CHEVY CARS. NOT HAPPY.
3/20 I WAS GOING 35 WHEN IT LOST POWER AND BRAKE.ONSTAR TOWED TO DEALER 4 DAYS LATER WAS TOLD IT WAS TRACTION CONTROL AND FIXED. 4/29 GOING 50 AND LOST POWER, AND BRAKED TO 28 MPH. ONSTAR AGAIN TOWED TO DEALER HAS SAT THERE FOR 24 DAYS AND COUNTING WITH NO RESOLUTION FROM GM. THIS IS A 2013 CHEVY MALIBU.I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING TO HAVE IT DECLARED A LEMON. *TR
THE FUEL MILEAGE IS VERY INCONSISTENT. IT CAN RANGE FROM AN AVERAGE OF 20 TO 28 AND HAS BEEN AS LOW AS 18 AND AS HIGH AS 29. BEFORE YOU DISMISS THIS COMPLAINT AS DRIVING CONDITIONS OR ROUT-THIS CAR TRAVELS THE SAME 8 MILE ROUT 4 DAYS A WEEK TO WORK AND NOT MUCH MORE THAN THAT IN AN AVERAGE MONTH. IT HAS BEEN ON HIGHWAY TRIPS AND NOT GOTTEN OVER 29 MPG. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS DUEL TO THE FUEL MIXTURE THAT I WAS PURCHASING. I HAVE TRIED EVERY BRAND OF GAS IN THE TOWN I LIVE IN AND IT DOES NOT HAVE A NOTICEABLE EFFECT ON THIS PROBLEM. DOES NOT ACHIEVE THE ADVERTISED MILEAGE. *TR
