MY ABS HAS BEEN ACTING UP, I.E. ENGAGING WHEN IT SHOULDN'T. TONIGHT, I WAS FORCED TO COME TO A FAST STOP AND PUSHED THE BRAKE IN. THE ABS ENGAGED, BUT THEN STOPPED AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, THEREFORE I HAD NO BRAKES. I REAR-ENDED ANOTHER CAR WITH A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL DRIVING. SHE ENDED UP BEING TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. I AM CURIOUS TO KNOW IF THERE ARE OTHER CASES SUCH AS THIS, INCLUDING BRAKE FAILURE AND ABS PROBLEMS. MY VEHICLE IS A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. I HAVE 106,000 MILES ON IT AND HAVE HAD MINUTE BRAKING ISSUES FOR THE PAST YEAR OR SO. I HOPE THAT IS THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT IT CAN BE ADDRESSED. THAT WAY NO MORE SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD GIRLS GET HURT, AND NO MORE 26 YEAR OLD MALES (MYSELF) HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM OR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS DUE TO THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. AS FAR AS THE QUESTION ABOUT OEM, IF THAT MEANS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT, THEN NO, ALL MY EQUIPMENT CAME ON THE VEHICLE WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND NOTHING HAS BEEN ALTERED IN ANY WAY.*AK
WHILE DRIVING, THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ABS INADVERTENTLY ENGAGED. THIS CAUSED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE WHEN BRAKING. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED,BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.*AK JUST BEFORE THE END OF A STOP ANTILOCK KICKS IN EXTENDING STOPING DISTANCE. THE PROBLEM IS WORSE WHEN STOPPING FROM TRAVELING IN REVERSE. GM DID NOT PUT ENOUGH GREESE IN ANTILOCK BRAKES SO THEY RUSTED. *TC
THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR BRAKE INSPECTION, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ROTORS WERE COMPLETELY RUSTED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS TOLD THAT WARRANTY EXPIRED, AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. ALSO, THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 37,000 MILES SINCE THE BRAKES WERE SERVICED, AND THE ROTORS WERE COMPLETELY DESTROYED. *AK THE BRAKE PADS WERE WORN AND THE FRONT WERE SEVERELY BLACKENED. THE POWER BRAKES AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED. *SC
ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATE DURING NORMAL STOP AND GO DRIVING. THIS HAS RESULTED IN NUMEROUS NEAR COLLISIONS. DEFECT REPORTED TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ON 5-24-05.
LTR. REQUEST A MANDATORY RECALL FOR THE ABS SENSOR MALFUNCTION ON A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO TRUCK, ABS SENSOR FAILS DUE TO A DESIGN PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER STATED THE FRONT ROTORS WERE OUT OF ROUND AT 50,000 MILES DUE TO THE USE OF INFERIOR REPROCESSED STEEL. *JB *SC
2000 CHEVY SILVERADO Z-71, 4WD, V-8 EXTENDED CAB 31,000 MILES. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED ON JUNE 24, 2004. IN SEPTEMBER, 2004 I NOTICED THAT THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD ACTIVATE AS I SLOWED (< 10 MPH) TO A STOP. THIS ISSUE BEGAN INTERMITTANTLY BUT WORSENED AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. BY JAN, 2005, THE ABS WOULD ACTIVATE EVERY TIME I APPLIED THE BRAKES AT SLOW SPEEDS (< 10 MPH). NO TROUBLE LIGHTS CAME ON. I DID NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENTS WITH THIS ISSUE BUT HAD ONE VERY CLOSE CALL IN A PARKING LOT. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED M TO INVESTIGATE AND FIX THE PROBLEM. IN LATE JANUARY, I HAD A GM DEALER INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE AND THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE LEFT FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY. GIVEN THE HIGH PRICE THE DEALER WAS GOING TO CHARGE FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART AND THE LABOR, I ELECTED TO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY FROM A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE (AUTOZONE). I REPLACED THE LEFT FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY PER THE VEHICLE'S SERVICE MANUAL DIRECTIONS. AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. THE HUB I REMOVED WAS HEAVILY CORRODED WITH SIGNS THAT THE SEAL ON THE INBOARD SIDE OF THE HUB WAS CORRODED WITH A PORTION OF THE EXCLUDER LIPS MISSING. I STILL HAVE THE HUB ASSEMBLY THAT WAS REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE AND WOULD BE GLAD TO PROVIDE IT FOR TEARDOWN INSPECTION. IN ADDITION, I AM A DEGREED MECHANICAL ENGINEER THAT WORKS FOR A LEADING AXLE AND DRIVESHAFT MANUFACTURER AND WOULD BE GLAD TO DISCUSS THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FURTHER. I BELIEVE THAT SEAL FAILED AND THIS ALLOWED DEBRIS / CORROSION TO ENTER THE HUB ASSEMBLY WHICH THEN SUBSEQUENTLY CAUSED A SIGNAL INTERUPTION BETWEEN THE TONE WHEE AND SPEED SENSOR. THUS, THE ABS SYSTEM BELIEVED THAT THE LEFT FRONT HUB WAS NOT ROTATING AND CAUSED THE ABS SYSTEM TO ACTIVATE. MY ISSUE IS VERY MUCH LIKE THE ISSUE DESCRIBED IN THE MAY 27, 2005 ISSUE OF THE DETROIT FREE PESS TITLED "GM TRUCK OWNERS INSIST BRAKES ARE A PROBLEM".
THE STRAPS ON MY BABY'S CAR SEAT DO NOT TIGHTEN EASILY. REPEATED TIGHTENING OF THE STRAPS LED TO PLASTIC FATIGUE ON THE PIECE THAT CONNECTS TO THE STRAPS. WE HAD TWO OF THESE CAR SEATS WITH MY FIRST CHILD. WITH THE FIRST ONE, DOREL JUVENILE GROUP SOLD ME ANOTHER CAR SEAT AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE. WITH THE SECOND CAR SEAT TO EXPERIENCE THIS TROUBLE, DOREL TOLD ME THAT THEY HADN'T RECEIVED ANY OTHER CLAIMS OF THIS PROBLEM. NOW WITH MY SECOND CHILD, WE MOSTLY HAD TROUBLE WITH THE CAR SEAT WHEN IT WAS IN THE REAR FACING POSITION. DOREL SHOULD AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN OF THE CAR SEAT THAT LEADS TO PLASTIC FATIGUE. THIS CAR SEAT IS THE COMFORT RIDE MODEL NO. 22-400-BRD. THERE WASN'T A BOX TO CHECK FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR SEAT. THIS WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. *SC
WHILE DRIVING,A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR AND THE VEHICLE SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND PULLED OVER. PASSENGER'S SIDE RIGHT FRONT TIRE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE, CAUSING DAMAGE TO UNDER CARRIAGE AND THE DOOR. FIRESTONE STEELTEX RADIAL, LT245/75R16, DOT VN11B1C. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE, AND WILL CONTACT FIRESTONE. *AK
TAILGATE LATCHING MECHANISM SOMETIMES FAILS. TAILGATE WILL FALL OPEN WHEN DRIVING. MY DOG ALMOST FELL OUT GOING DOWN THE ROAD BECAUSE THE TAILGATE FELL OPEN. I ALSO LOST A PARTIAL LOAD OF WOOD OUT THE BACK WHEN THE TAILGATE FELL OPEN.*AK
ABS BRAKE MALFUNCTION, VEHICLE HARD TO STOP AT LOW SPEED. *NM
DT: THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEMS AS STATED IN RECALL 05V379000 CONCERNING THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. HE SAID THE RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE HIS STATE. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HE BEGINS TO SLOW DOWN, THE BRAKES BEGIN TO PUMP AND TAKE CONTROL AND THEN RETURN TO NORMAL BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, WHICH GREATLY INCREASE STOPPING DISTANCE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH LEFT RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED, CAUSING THE TIRE TO BLOW OUT, FIRESTONE WILDERNESS, SIZEUNKNOWN, DOT: UNKNOWN. *AK
WHILE WORKING ON MY PROPERTY, I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL IN MY BACKYARD WHEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE I WAS PASSING THROUGH THE GATE OF MY FENCE ON MY PROPERTY CAUSING ME TO IMPACT THE GATE CORNER POST. BECAUSE I WAS IN A TURN EXITING THROUGH THE FENCE, I SUSTAINED A SUBSTANTIAL DENT TO THE LEFT SIDE OF MY TRUCK BED AND TO THE RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR. I JACKED THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK, THE STEERING WHEEL MOVED FREELY, NO DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. I CALLED THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS A GMC DEALER, THEY INDICATED THAT I PROBABLY HAD A POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURE. I BROUGHT IT IN AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE PUMP HAD FAILED. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE PUMP AND FLUSH THE SYSTEM, AND HAD THE DRIVE BELTS REPLACED WHILE THEY WERE WORKING IN THE AREA. ALSO HAD THE DENT ON THE LEFT SIDE REPAIRED BUT DID NOT REPAIR THE DENT ON THE RH SIDE DUE TO THE COST TO DO BOTH SIDES.*AK
ALL GAUGES ERRATIC FUNCTION. NEVER KNOW WHEN I RUN OUT OF FUEL. ONLY CAN REACTIVE FUEL READING, SOME OF THE TIME IS TO BE ON THE ROAD, TAKE FOOT OFF OF ACCELERATOR, DROP INTO NEUTRAL AND DROP IT BACK INTO DRIVE; FUEL GAUGE MAY READ FOR A WHILE. HAZARD WARNING SWITCH WILL NOT CANCEL TO THE HOME POSITION AND IF IT DOES CANCEL THE RELAY KEEPS CLICKING. TURN SIGNAL REMAINS UNAFFECTED FOR SIGNALING A TURN. *TR
I WAS BACKING UP TRUCK WHEN POWER STERING FAILED , CAUSING TRUCK TO STRIKE PARKED CAR. POWERSTERING PUMP DRIVESHAFT BROKE OFF INSIDE OF PUMP . I HAD TO HAVE THE PUMP REPLACED . *AK .
RUBBING AND METALLIC NOISE COMING FROM BACK OF TRUCK. LOUDER NOICSE AND VIBRATION. ALL 3 U-JOINTS AND CENTER SUPPORT BEARING REPLACED.
THE BRAKES CONTINUED TO FAIL SO I PROCEEDED TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPLACED. THEN THE ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM BEGAN TO FAIL ON A REGULAR BASIS. I HAD THAT SYSTEM CLEANED, THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, SO I HAD THE WHEEL BEARINGS AND SENSORS REPLACED. THAT SOLVED MY PROBLEMS. *JB
WHILE APPLYING BRAKES FROM A LOW SPEED ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGED. AS RESULT, VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL, ALMOST COLLIDING INTO A BUILDING. *AK
LOCKS WILL LOCK WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO UNLOCK FROM THE OUTSIDE WITH A KEY IT WILL NOT UNLOCK. *AK DOOR LOCK WOULD NOT UNLOCK FROM THE INSIDE NOR THE OUTSIDE WITH KEY, HAND, OR ELECTRICAL. *TC
CONSUMER STATED GAS GAUGE WAS DEFECTIVE. IT INDICATED MORE GAS THAN WHAT WAS ACTUALLY IN THE TANK. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY WERE ASKING $348.00 FOR REPAIRS. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS WHILE IN TRAFFIC WHILE THE GAS GAUGE INDICATED 3/4 OF A TANK OF GAS. *TC
BOUGHT IN 2000 BRAKES AND ALL COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY OWNER AT OWNERS EXPENSE. BRAKES HAVE A GROWLING CRUNCHING SOUND ON AND OFF. THE BRAKES WILL BECOME DISFUNCTUAL UNLESS YOU COMPLEATLY RELEASE AND IMMEDIEATLY RE APPLY.THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING MECHANICAL FAILURE. AT 11,000 MILES THIS VEHICLE LITTERALLY "BLEW THE FRONT ROTORS INTO PIECES.GM WOULD NOT HONOR THE REPAIRS THAT I HAVE CONTINIOUSLY KEPT HAVING TO PAY FOR.
CONSUMER HAS A CONCERN THAT THE FUEL PUMP TERMINAL IS OVER HEATING AND THE CONNECTORS ARE LOOSE. PROBLEM WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER AT 35,000 MILES. AT THE PRESENT TIME OF 48,500 MILES THE PROBLEM IS RECURRING. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *JB
UPON PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL BEGAN BUCKING. CONSUMER WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, AND IT COLLIDED WITH PARKED VEHICLE. ABS WARNING LIGHT FAILED TO WARN CONSUMER THAT A PROBLEM OCCURRED. THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY RUST DEVELOPING ON ABS SENSORS. THE PROBLEM WAS MORE PREVALENT WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 5 TO 10 MPH. *AK
ERRATIC READING ON FUEL GAUGE
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED FRONT END VIBRATED VIOLENTLY. *AK
THE BRAKES ON MY TRUCK DO NOT STOP THE TRUCK IN A REASONABLE DISTANT. WHEN I PULLED OFF THE WHEELS YOU COULD SEE WHERE THE PADS ON THE FRONT WHEELS WERE ALMOST GONE, BUT THE REAR SHOES WERE HARDLY WORN. I DID CHANGE THE FRONT PADS. I ALSO HAVE THE STICKING GAS PEDAL PROBLEM WHICH I HAVE HAD THE DEALER WORK ON WITH NO RESULTS.
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT AIR BAG FAILURE. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. IN FIRST CRASH VEHICLE WAS STRUCK AT THE RIGHT FENDER AREA AT 75-80 MPH AND NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. IN SECOND CRASH VEHICLE WAS STRUCK FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE AT 50 MPH, AND NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE NHTSA TO EXPLAIN THESE ISSUES. *AK
BRAKE ROTORS ROTTED OUT, COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. *AK
TIRE TREAD SEPARATION BLOW OUT WITH BODY DAMAGE.*AK
A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK WHILE MAKING A SUDDEN STOP THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE BRAKES WERE NOT RESPONDING PROPERLY. THE CONSUMER THEN NOTICED THE REAR BRAKES MAKING A SQUEAKING NOISE. THE CONSUMER MOVED THE REAR WHEELS, BRAKE CALIPERS AND ROTORS AND FOUND A METAL SURFACE WHERE THE BRAKE PADS DETERIORATED. ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ROTOR, THE PAD WAS WEARING ON 3/8 INCH OF THE METAL SURFACE. THE CONSUME KNEW OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME MAKE/MODEL/YEAR WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *SC *JB
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE SWERVED. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER MAINTAINED CONTROL. *AK THIS WAS THE FOURTH TIRE. THE BELTS SLIPPED AND THERE WERE SEPARATIONS. *SC *JB
BATTERY CONNECTION LEAKED BATTERY ACID ON THE BRAKING SYSTEM TUBING.*MR THE ACID LEAKING ONTO THE BRAKE LINES CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE BATTERIES. *NM
WHILE DRIVING THE QUARTER PANEL COLLAPSED DAMAGING THE BRAKE LINE, AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LINE. CONSUMER HAD AN AIR BAG INSTALLED ON THE SUSPENSION. HOWEVER THAT WAS DAMAGED ALSO. THE TIRES DELAMINATED. THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRES. FIRESTONE STEELTEX RADIO, R4F, LT245/75R16, 00-80-11 120/116R M/S, DOT VN11-B1C. *AK
THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED LAST YEAR, BUT I AM JUST NOW REPORTING IT LOOKING AT THE RECENT RECALL OF THIS SAME PICKUP. I OWN A 2000 HALF TON CHEVROLET PU 4X4. I NOTICED THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES WEREN'T WORKING VERY WELL AT LOW SPEEDS AND MADE A NOISE BEFORE FINALLY STOPPING THE TRUCK. IT WAS GETTING NOTICEABLE AT HIGHER SPEEDS AS TIME WENT ON. I TOOK IT TO THE CAR DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK. NOT ONLY DID THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SENSOR NEED REPLACING, BUT SO DID ALL FOUR ROTORS. THEY WERE RUSTED SO BADLY THAT THEY WERE FLAKING AWAY. THIS TRUCK HAD ONLY 14,000 MILES ON IT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A 2000. IT WAS STORED INSIDE WHEN NOT DRIVEN. GM AGREED TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIRS BUT NOT ALL. THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND I OFFERED TO TAKE THE DEALER TO A JUNK YARD TO SHOW HIM THAT ROTORS DON'T RUST LIKE THESE WERE EVEN AT JUNK YARDS. I STILL HAVE THE ROTORS IF YOUR DEPT. WOULD BE INTERESTED IN LOOKING AT THEM. I BELIEVE THERE IS MORE TO THE STORY THAN GM WAS WILLING TO TELL ME, ESPECIALLY NOTICING THE RECENT RECALL OF THEIR TRUCKS.
SINCE LAST SUMMER, I HAVE EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH THE ABS ON MY 2000 CHEVY SILVERADO. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT IS CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED BY THE NHTSA. WHILE STOPPING, THE ANTIL-LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATED ON ALL SURFACES (EVEN ON SMOOTH, DRY, PAVEMENT) BELOW 10MPH WHICH INCRESASES STOPPING DISTANCE.
FUEL GAUGE IS VERY IRRACTIC. SHOWS LOW FUEL EVEN WHEN TANK IS FULL. ASKED SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT PROBLEM AND HE SAID IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THAT VEHICLE AND VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR, BUT YOU GET A NEW FUEL PUMP. SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED FREE BY GM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HILL, THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES FAILED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLIDE. THE DRIVER COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP AND IT ROLLED DOWN AND OVER A HILL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THIS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A BRAKE RECALL FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL. NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 00V345000; BRAKE LINE CHAFFING. *JB
BOTH CONSUMER'S VEHICLES HAD INTENSE TREAD USEAGE. TIRES WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES ON EACH VEHICLE. THE SECOND VEHICLE ALSO HAVD GENERAL TIRES, SIZE 235/85R16. *AK
1. PASSENGER SIDE DOORS (FRONT & EXTENDED CAB DOOR) DO NOT SHUT TIGHT. THE EX-CAB DOOR DOES NOT LOCK WHEN SHUT, IT MUST BE CLOSED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE CLOSING. IF IT DOES NOT CLOSE TIGHT, BOTH DOORS WILL FLY OPEN. 2. WIND WHISTLES INSIDE FROM THE UNSEALED DOORS.-- 3. DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, WIND WHISTLES IN DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO BE SHUT SEALED TIGHT.-- 4. TRAILER HITCH WILL NOT CLOSE. THE LOCK IS STUCK IN AN OPEN POSITION. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT ROTORS RUSTED, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK THE BRAKE PROBLEM WAS CONTINUOUS FRONT AND BACK SINCE 5958 MILES. CHEVROLET WOULD NOT REPLACE THE BRAKES. THE CALIPERS WERE LEAKING, THE SECURITY LIGHT HAD COME ON THREE TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WITH THE KEY, THE RELUCTOR RING/SENSOR WAS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT CAUSED BY RUST, AND THE DRIVELINE MADE A CLANKING SOUND. GM HAD BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS. *SC *JB
LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON EVEN WHEN THE TANK WAS JUST FILLED UP. MAINLY WHEN IDILING AND AFTER STARTING VECHICLE.*AK
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKES ENGAGED VEHICLE HAS ROLLED BACKWARD AND HIT A TRAVEL TRAILER. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO ADJUSTED THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. WITHIN TWO MONTH OR LESS THE PROBLEM HAS RECURRED AGAIN. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AGAIN.*AK
DT: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ABS BRAKES. HAS CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY WILL REPLACE THE ABS SPEED SENSORS, BUT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE ROTORS. THE CONTACT WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE ROTORS. THEY WERE CORRODED. HE HAD THE ROTORS TURNED AND PUT BACK ON VEHICLE WITH NEW PADS. WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE STALLED. CONSUMER TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP SHORTED OUT, CAUSING A SPARK. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE FUEL TANK AND WIRES. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL 00 X 001 000 CONCERNING BRAKE HOSE FAILURE. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT THE BRAKE HOSE ERUPTED WHILE DRIVING AND RUST BUILD UP ON BOTH FRONT ROTORS.*AK VEHICLE WAS HARD TO STOP WHEN COMING OFF A SMALL INCLINE. ALL FOUR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO RUST. *TS

SPARE TIRE TOOLS NOT CORRECT. I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY SPARE TIRE. FEMALE END OF LOWERING TOOL NOT THE CORRECT SIZE TO ENGAGE THE MALE END LOCATED AT THE END OF THE TUBE ASSEMBLY. UPON HAVING A FLAT TIRE I WAS STRANDED IN BETWEEN TOWNS.THIS WOULD BE VERY DANGEROUS FOR FOR WOMEN CARRYING INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN. *AK
WE PURCHASED A 2000 SILVERADO 2500. THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE IN THE ENGINE. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. GM IS WELL AWARE OF THE KNOCKING NOISE IN THE VORTEX 6.0 ENGINE. THEY TOLD US THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF IT IS A COLD START OR IF IT RUNS ALL DAY.*AK
