THE REAR DOORS WILL NOT LATCH IF THE VEHICLE IS EXPOSED TO TEMPS BELOW 45 DEGREES, THE FRONT DOORS ARE SECURED TO THE REAR DOORS, SO IF THE REAR LATCH WON'T LATCH THE FRONT DOORS MAY OPEN, THE DEALER CAN NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *SLC
WHEN STARTING VEHICLE THE ROD SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS COMING THROUGH THE ENGINE. *AK
WHEN ANTI LOCK BRAKES KICKS IN, IT WILL SHUT OF BRAKE SYSTEM FOR A FEW SECONDS, UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE. CONTACTED DEALER, DEALER SAID THIS WAS NORMAL.*AK JLG
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 65MPH VEHICLE WOULD START TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. IF DRIVING AT LOWER SPEED, SHAKING WOULD NOT BE NOTICEABLE. HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER TO CHECK & HAVE NOT RELEASE IT AS OF YET. *AK
BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR, ANTILOCK BRAKES ENGAGED, ON DRY PAVEMENT AT 30 MILES PER HOUR. HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES. THREE TIMES ON ROUGH PAVEMENT, ONCE ON DRY. DEALER REPLACED EBCM AND BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR. AT NEXT INCIDENT DEALER REPLACED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. NOW BRAKE PEDAL SLOWLY GOES TO FLOOR AFTER STOPPED IN DRIVE POSITION.
DEALER HAS WORKED TO GET THE TRUCK REPAIRED BY REPLACING FRONT TIRES TWICE, ALIGNING THE FRONT END. THEY HAVE PROVIDED GREAT SERVICE. THE TRUCK WAS DELIVERED IN DISREPAIR FROM THE FACTORY.
SEAT BELT WON'T ENGAGE EVEN WHEN BRAKES HAVE BEEN APPLIED AND THE REAR WHEELS HAVE LOCKED UP. *AK
THIS IS CONCERNING AND VERY AGGRAVATING AS IT HAS (2) TIMES CAUSED ME TO SLOW DOWN TO 50 VERY QUICKLY BY HITTING THE BRAKES TO STOP THE VIBRATIONS AND STEERING WHEEL SHAKE. THOUGHT I WOULD LOOSE CONTROL. IT ACTUALLY MAKES YOU HAVE AN UPSET STOMACH WITH THE CONSTANT VIBRATIONS.
TRUCK VIBRATED. CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT TRUCK COULD NOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE DEALER DID NOT KNOW WHEN VEHICLE WAS VIBRATING. CONSUMER DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE VEHICLE BECAUSE HE WAS TOLD THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH FRONT END OF VEHICLE. *AK
SINCE FIRST DAY IT HAS BEEN HARD TO STOP, THEN, IT GOT HARDER AND HARDER, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER IN JUNE OF 2000, AND THEY COULD NOT FIND CAUSE. CONSUMER STATED IT WAS ALSO HARD TO STEER . *AK
VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO 3 DEALERS NUMEROUS TIMES. CONTACTED CHEVROLET NO SOLUTION AVAILABLE. NO SAFETY DEFECTED LISTED WITHIN SUMMARY. *AK
WHEN TRAVELING BETWEEN 70- 80 MILES VEHICLE STALLS. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS PUT ON A MACHINE. DEALERSHIP IS WAITING FOR A PROGRAM TO COME BACK. GM STATES THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE UNTIL MID-MARCH. *AK *ML
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE OCCUPANT PRESSED THE BRAKES AND WENT TO THE FLOOR AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE WHEELS TO LOCK UP AND CAUSED A REAR END CRASH. DLR CANNOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. MJS
WHILE DRIVING, TRANSMISSION WOULD DOWNSHIFT FOR NO REASON, FROM 2ND TO 1ST GEAR OR 3RD TO 2ND GEAR. TOOK TO DEALER, CAN'T DUPLICATE PROBLEM. *AK *SLC
WHILE TRAVELING AT 35MPH EXHAUST WOULD MAKE SHRILLING/GRINDING NOISE WHICH WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE TRUCK. WOULD ALSO BE VIBRATING. THIS CAUSED NOISE TO BECOME LOUDER. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP & INFORMED PROBLEM COULD NOT BE SOLVED, BUT COULD HEAR THE NOISE.
STEERING WHEEL MAKES A LOUD POPPING AND CRACKING NOISE WHENEVER HAS BEEN DRIVEN. ALSO, THERE IS MOVEMENT IN STREERING WHEEL. DEALER HAS REPLACED SPRING AND COLUMN. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING ON WET ROAD CONDITIONS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE ABS ACTIVATES CAUSING AN INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE. THERE IS A NHTSA RECALL, # 05V379000, REGARDING THE SERVICE BRAKES: HYDRAULIC: ANTILOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN. UPDATED 05/16/06. *JB
2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1/2 TON CUSTOMER WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL. CUSTOMER STATES THAT HE HAS NOT RECEIVED PAYMENT FOR REPAIR**CC THE PASSENGER SIDE TAILGATE CABLE BROKE DUE TO RUST. *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING ACCIDENT IN A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY. *GR
CHEVROLET HAS DENIED THAT THEIR 99 AND 00 CHEVROLET SILVERADOS DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIER NEW ENGINES. I KNOW OF NUMEROUS OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE THIS PROBLEM WHICH CHEVROLET ACKNOWLEDGES AS A NORMAL SOUND. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE TRUCK CAN NOT BE FIXED BECAUSE THE NEW ONES MAKE THE SAME NOISE. I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER COMPRIABLE TRUCKS AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE ENGINE PING/KNOCK. THE DEALER ALSO SAID THAT THE NOISE WILL EVENTUALLY GO AWAY, BUT I HAVE SEEN TRUCKS WITH 19000 WITH THE NOISE CONTINUING. THIS PROBLEM COULD INCREASE EMMISIONS IF IT IS INDEED A PING/KNOCK. IF THIS PROBLEM PERSISTS WITH NO FIX FROM CHEVROLET, I COULD HAVE ENGINGE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE PING/KNOCK THAT WILL NOT BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
ROUGH IDLE AND VEHICLE SHAKES AND VIBRATES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS---STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP IN ROAD. *AK
FRONT END SUSPENSION PROBLEMS IS CAUSING VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE RIGHT, VIBRATE AND EXPERIENCE STEERING WHEEL SHIMMY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 63MPH. NLM
THE PLASTIC BRAKE-FLUID RESERVOIR IS VERY SLOPPILY (AND LOOSELY) ATTACHED TO THE MASTER CYCLINDER VIA TWO PINS THRU OVERSIZED HOLES IN THE RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY. THE HOLES ARE MUCH LARGER THAN THE RESTRAINING PINS RESULTING IN CONSIDERABLE SLOP. THE RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY IS NOT RIGIDLY ATTACHED TO THE MASTER CYLINDER AND IS FREE TO VIBRATE. THE RANGE OF MOTION ALLOWED BY THE SLOP IS CONSIDERABLE. I FEAR THAT SYMPATHETIC ENGINE OR ROAD VIBRATIONS MAY DAMAGE THE MASTER-CYLINDER/RESERVOIR INTERFACE. I CHECKED OUT A NEW SILVERADO IN THE DEALER'S SHOW ROOM AND ITS BRAKE-FLUID RESERVOIR ALSO APPEARED TO BE INADEQUATELY FASTENED TO THE MASTER-CYLINDER ASSEMBLY.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE REMOTE-CONTROLLED MIRROR DOES NOT HAVE AN ADEQUATE RANGE OF ADJUSTMENT IN BOTH AZIMUTH AND ELEVATION FOR ALL SEAT POSITIONS.
GENERAL MOTORS NOTIFIED ME THAT THE BUSHINGS IN THE LOWER CONTROL ARM AND THE BUSHINGS IN THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT A SERIOUS VIBRATION PROBLEM . THERE IS ALSO A GM SERVICE BULLETIN CONTAINING THIS INFORMATION. THESE TWO CONPONENTS ARE PART OF THE "STEERING". GM HAS INFORMED ME THAT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THESE BUSHINGS A THE PRESENT TIME. HAVING A DEFECTIVE STEERING ASSEMBLY CAUSES A SAFETY PROBLEM FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. ANY OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION I WILL BE GLAD TO PROVIDE.
WHENEVER DRIVER APPLIES THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL EXCESSIVELY TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBACK COLLAPSES. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE SEATS, AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. *AK
ACCELERATOR WOULD SURGE WHILE IN GEAR. WOULD SHIFT FROM OVERDRIVE TO LOW GEAR ON ITS OWN. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DOING HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED & KNOWS OF PROBLEM. VEHICLE BEEN IN SHOP FOR OVER A MONTH. THERE IS NO CORRECTIVE SOLUTION TO PROBLEM OF SURGING & GEAR SHIFTING. *AK
ON 3-JAN-2000, WHILE MAKING A U TURN POWER STEERING SHAFT BROKE IN HALF. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING PUMP. ON 10-JAN-2000, DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY BETWEEN 60-65MPH, STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN, ANDJHE ORDERED 4 NEW TIRES, AND HAD THEM PUT ON. 3 TIRES HAD SOFT SPOTS WHICH WERE BAD TIRES. THEY ORDERED 3 MORE TIRES AND HAD THEM PUT ON. THE TIRE SIZE P235/75R16. *AK
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING A LOUD CLUNCKING NOISE WHEN TURNING A CORNER AND ACCELERATING AT THE SAME TIME. ALSO, VEHICLE IS NOT DOWNSHIFTING TO PROPER GEAR ,CAUSING A VIBRATION THROUGHOUT VEHICLE WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 35-45 MPH. WHEN CHANGING TO ANY GEAR FROM PARK POSITION, VEHICLE WILL JERK. MANUFACTURER HAS ACKNOWLEDGED DEFECT, BUT CANNOT FIX IT. CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. *AK

MODEL WITH OVERHEAD CONSOLES DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUNVISORS ARE TOO SHORT TO COVER THE SIDE WINDOWS WHEN THE SUN IS HIGH, CAUSING LACK OF VISIBILITY
LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE IS SITTING JUST BELOW THE AXLE. IF THE BRAKE LINE COMES INTO CONTACT WITH OTHER OBJECTS, IT COULD CAUSE LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITY. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING 60-65 MPH VEHICLE STARTED VIBRATING. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN CONTACTED. OWNER TOLD THAT CHEVROLET IS WORKING ON IT AND THAT A TSB WILL BE ISSUED WHEN THE PROBLEM IS FIGURED OUT. *AK *ML
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, ENGINE DIES, CAUSING A LOSS OF POWER. STEERING STIFFENS, AND BRAKES GET HARD. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK
WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER, AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
TRUCK STARTS VIBRATION AT 42MPH, VIBRATION THEN COMES INTO THE STEERING WHEEL AND THEN HOLD TRUCK VIBRATE.
TRACK THAT IS BOLTED TO THE FLOOR HAS A RAZOR SHARP EDGE AT A 90 DEGREE POINT. THE BOLT IS VERY SHARP, AND CUTS THE OCCUPANT OF THE SEAT. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. *AK *ML
THE FRONT END MAKES NOISE WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND TURNING IN EITHER DIRECTION. YH
WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, VEHICLE ACCELERATED SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK *ML
WHILE DRIVING 60-65 MPH EXTREME VIBRATION OCCURRED WITHIN THE STEERING WHEEL. DEALER REPLACED THE TIRES, WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED DUE TO A MALFUNCTION WITHIN THE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
THE MIRROR ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AUTO HAS BLIND SPOT THAT DOES NOT ALLOW THE DRIVER TO SEE CARS THAT ARE ALONG SIDE JUST TO THE BED OF THE TRUCK. DEALER HAS NO SOLUTION GM HAS NO SOLUTION. THESE ARE THE TRAILORING MIRRORS FOR WHEN YOU PULL A TRAILOR. IF YOU WELL NOTICE THEY CORRECTED THE DRIVERS SIDE BY ADDING SMALL MIRRO WITHIN THE LARGER MIRROR. THE POTENTIAL IS FATAL IF YOU ARE PULLING A TRAILOR AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO SEE A CAR ALONG SIDE YOUR VEHICLE. IT NEED TO BE FIXED.
THE RIGHT SIDE EXTERIOR MIRROR CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED TO AVOID BLIND SPOTS AND LEFT SIDE MIRROR HAS UNNECESSARY WIDE FIELD OF VISION. YH
