THE IGNITION IS NOT WORKING RIGHT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED SEVERE CORROSION OF THE VEHICLE'S FRAME. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS LOOSE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, SHE RAN OFF THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BURNS AND INJURIES TO HER RIBS, STERNUM, AND PELVIC. THE INJURIES WERE FATAL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 6 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO WORK WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 251,000.
CAME OUT OF A RESTAURANT PUT FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR HAD TRUCK TOWED TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD BRAKE LINES NEED REPLACING AT A COST OF 1100.00 DOLLARS. JUST GLAD THAT I WASN'T DRIVING AS THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE LAST WEEK I WENT TO BRAKE FOR AN EXIT ONLY TO FIND THAT I HAD NO BRAKES. IT TURNS OUT MY BRAKE LINE HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND MY BRAKE FLUID HAD BEEN DRAINING MY WHOLE TRIP DOWN THE INTERSTATE. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO MANAGE TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND PARK MY VEHICLE AND CALL AAA TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED. I AM NOW FINDING OUT THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH GMC OLDER TRUCKS. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. LIVES ARE AT RISK. *TR
EXCESSIVE METAL BRAKE LINE CORROSION ON THIS VEHICLE. BRAKE LINES CORRODED THROUGH CAUSING AN IMMEDIATE LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID AND RESULTED IN ZERO BRAKING ABILITY WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A BUSY CITY STREET. EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED TO BRING VEHICLE TO A STOP. INFERIOR MATERIALS HAVE BEEN USED TO PRODUCE BRAKE LINES ON THIS VEHICLE. BRAKE LINE PLACEMENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH INFERIOR METAL THAT IS PRONE TO CORROSION IS AT FAULT. COST TO REPAIR THIS FLAW IN MANUFACTURING WILL BE NEARLY $2000.00
WE BOUGHT THIS TRUCK FROM AN I INDIVIDUAL AND HE HAD A CLEAR TITLE WE WENT TO DMV IN LEXINGTON SC GOT A REGISTRATION AND WE SAID THEY COULD JUST MAIL THE TITLE THEN WE GOT A LETTER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED BY NHTSA CARS PROGRAM/US FEDERAL AGENCY AS A JUNK VEHICLE SAID WE HAVE TILL DECEMBER 4 TO RESOLVE THIS WE NEED YOUR HELP DON'T KNOW REALLY WHAT TO DO.
LIGHTING FOR GEAR AND MILEAGE INDICATOR HAS BEEN GOING OUT INTERMITTENTLY.
COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE ON A BUSY SUBURBAN STREET. I WAS INTENDING TO STOP FOR A RED LIGHT AND HAD NO BRAKES. PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. NO COLLISON. TRUCK NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP. COST WAS $872.73.
I HAVE AN EXHAUST LEAK, DUE TO A BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT. GM USED THE WRONG BOLTS ON MY 5.3LITER ENGINE. MY CHEVY DEALER SAYS IT'S GOING TO COST ME $1200 TO $1400 TO REPAIR MY ENGINE. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 87000 MILES ON IT.
WE JUST PURCHASED A USED 2002 CHEVY SILVERADO ON 9/25, TOOK IT FOR A SAFETY INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKE LINES HAD BURST AND BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING. THESE REPAIRS ARE GOING TO BE VERY EXPENSIVE AND I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS, SINCE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE LINES ON VEHICLES OF THIS YEAR/MAKE/MODEL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 HD. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO INDEPENDENTLY ROLL FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD BEFORE THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY STOPPED. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED THROUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I WAS PULLING MY 2000 LB BOAT TO THE LAKE SAT. WITH MY 2002 SILVERADO 1500 . I MADE IT TO THE LAUNCH RAMP OK BUT WHEN I WENT TO LAUNCH THE BOAT I COULDN'T STOP ROLLING DOWN THE RAMP [ NO BRAKES) I WAS ONLY ABLE TO SAVE THE TRUCK FROM BECOMING A SUBMARINE BY THROWING IT IN DRIVE AND HITTING THE GAS. I DROVE INTO THE PARKING LOT TO FIND THE BRAKE LINE RUSTED OUT . HAD THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC . I READ ONLINE ABOUT THE ISSUES WITH THE LINES AND THE FACT THERE WAS A BACKUP. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY WHILE PULLING A BOAT IT WOULD HAVE NEVER STOPPED ME. I'VE HAD CARS LONGER THIS IN MY 40+ YEARS OF DRIVING ANY NEVER HAD A BRAKE LINE FAIL FROM RUST. I WOULD HAVE LIKED A HEADS UP ON THIS ISSUE AS I'VE SEEN IT TO BE A PROBLEM IN MULTIPLE YEARS. NEEDLESS TO SAY I'M DISAPPOINTED AGAIN BY GM BY NOT AT LEAST GIVING THE OWNERS A HEADS UP. AND I'M THANKING GOD FOR MY WIFE AND I NOT BEING INJURED ON A SIMPLE FISHING TRIP. SHAME ON YOU GUYS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL SANK TO THE FLOORBOARD. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LINES FRACTURED DUE TO CORROSION AND CAUSED THE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR WITH HARDLY ANY BRAKES.I HAD TO GO ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD TO AVOID MAJOR CRASH . WAS VERY SHOCKED AND HEART WAS RACING . I NEVER HAD THAT HAPPEN BEFORE IN ALL THE YEARS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING. I MANAGED TO MAKE IT HOME BY USING LOWER GEARS AND EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. WHEN I FINALLY GOT HOME I LOOKED TO SEE WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON AND SAW THAT MY BRAKE LINES HAD CORRODED THRU AND THE FLUID WAS COMING OUT. I WENT ON LINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY OTHERS WITH THIS PROBLEM AND SAW THERE WERE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I CALLED SEVERAL PLACES AND THE COST TO REPLACE ALL MY BRAKE LINES WAS AROUND 1200 - 1700. I ENDED UP GETTING THEM REPLACED FOR $1600. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. I HAVE OWED MANY VEHICHLES OVER THE YEARS IN THIS SAME AREA AND HAVE NEVER EVER HAD TO REPLACE A BRAKE LINE. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR RECALL BEFORE ANYONE DIES. THERE MUST BE FAULTY METAL BEING USED IN THESE AND NEEDS TO BE STAINLESS STEEL. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE $1600 I HAD TO SPEND ON THESE FAULTY BRAKE LINES. THEY NEED TO DO A RECALL OR LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND REIMBURSE THEM FOR THE REPAIRS.
BRAKE LINE ARE RUSTING AND FAILING. I WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. THIS IS THE SECOND LINE TO FAIL FROM RUST AND THE OTHER 3 LOOK VERY RUSTY.
TRAVELLING FROM PA TO CAPE HATTERAS, NC. TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE OF ALL 4 WHEELS IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC ON US 158 S BYPASS IN KILL DEVIL HILLS. MANAGED TO SWERVE ONTO RIGHT BERM GRASSY AREA AND SHIFT TO LOW AND USE HAND BRAKE TO STOP. HAD TWO CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. ONE WAS A 2 YEAR OLD. HAD TO DRIVE 42 MILES WITH NO BRAKES TO REACH DESTINATION. MECHANIC IN RODANTHE HAD TO REPLACE ALL BRAKE LINES AND MASTER CYLINDER. BRAKE LINES WERE TOTALLY RUSTED OUT. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON I-95 AT 70 MPH WE WOULD PROBABLY ALL HAVE BEEN KILLED.
THE FUEL LINES RUST AWAY AND START LEAKING FUEL BADLY. ALL LINES HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE RUST ON THIS TRUCK IS UNBELIEVABLE. GM WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT. THE ROCKER PANELS ALL RUSTED OUT AS WELL. THE FRAME IS RUSTING OUT. THESE TRUCK ARE JUST RUST BUCKETS
1ST INCIDENT - VEHICLE IN MOTION AT LOW SPEED, ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATE AND PREVENT VEHICLE FROM STOPPING, RAN INTO GARAGE DOOR 2ND INCIDENT - AFTER 1ST INCIDENT, CAR SHOP REPLACED ABS MODULE. SAME SITUATION. VEHICLE IN MOTION AT LOW SPEED, ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATE AND PREVENT VEHICLE FROM STOPPING, RAN INTO CAR IN PARKING LOT.

THE CONTACT ALMOST CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE DOOR BUT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE A CRASH OCCURRED. THE CONTACT RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND RE-APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE PEDAL IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WHEN POSITIONING MY TRUCK TO HOOK UP MY 5TH WHEEL CAMPER I LOST MY BRAKES. THERE WAS NO WARNING OF ANY KIND AND I WASN'T SURE UNTIL I GOT OUT AND SAW THE PUDDLE . EVEN AFTER MOVING THE TRUCK AN LOSING MORE FLUID THERE WAS STILL NO WARNING. I HATE TO THINK IF HAD HOOKED UP AND BEEN DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN CORRODED METAL LINES BLEW OUT!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES LINES FAILED DUE TO CORROSION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
TRAILER RELIEVER HITCH BENT AFTER NORMAL USE TOWING TRAVEL TRAILER. PROPER WEIGHT DISTRIBUTING HITCH WAS BEING USED ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. WINDS MAY HAVE BEEN CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. HITCH MUST BE REPLACED.
BRAKE LINES AND FUEL LINES ARE VERY RUSTED ALSO THE DRIVE SHAFT AND ABS BRACKET 2 BRAKE LINES HAVE RUSTED THROUGH WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK HAS ONLY ABOUT 100,000 MILES IT IS VERY DANGEROUS
RUSTY BRAKELINES
CORROSION AND FAILURE OF METAL BRAKE LINE DIRECTLY BELOW LEFT FRONT DOOR. VERY POOR DESIGN AS TUBES ARE BEHIND A DOUBLE LOOP OF CHASSIS WIRING CAUSING BUILDUP OF DIRT AND MOISTURE RESULTING IN PREMATURE FAILURE. FAILED WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND THANK GOD I WAS NOT ON THE ROAD
FUEL AND BREAK LINES COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT. FUEL LINE BROKE WHILE REPLACING FUEL FILTER. NECESSITATED REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE FUEL LINE SYSTEM. BREAK LINE BROKE WHILE DRIVING AROUND SAME TIME LOSING ALL BREAKING FUNCTIONS. NEEDED TO TURN OFF ROAD AND KILL MOTOR TO STOP. ALL BREAK LINES NEED REPLACEMENT. I SPENT $2500 FIXING.
EXCESSIVE CORROSION ON BRAKE AND FUEL LINES. HAD A METAL LINE BLOW OUT NEAR REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL CAUSING DRIVER TO HAVE TO USE TRANSMISSION AND HOLDING PARKING BRAKE RELEASE HANDLE WHILE USING E-BRAKE WHILE STEERING WITH ONE HAND. UPON SPLICING IN A SECTION OF REPLACEMENT TUBING, I NOTICED THE FUEL RETURN LINE FROM THE ENGINE TO THE TANK IS CORRODED SEVERELY TOO. I HAD A SECTION OF FUEL LINE FALL APART UPON REPLACING A FUEL FILTER AND SPLICED IN A RUBBER FUEL HOSE WITH CLAMPS TO GET A FUEL FILTER REPLACED. WHEN THE FUEL LINES RUPTURE, THERE IS A CHANCE OF FIRE FROM THE EXHAUST OR HOT BRAKE DRUMS. WAS ADVISED BY MECHANIC THAT I NEED TO SELL TRUCK AS IT HAS 18-24 MONTHS LEFT WITHOUT PROPER AND EXPENSIVE REPAIRS BEING MADE. RARELY GETS UNDERBODY WASH AS A QUALITY WASH IS FAR AWAY AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE RUST IS PROBABLY HOLDING IT TOGETHER AND ADVISED NOT TO KNOCK OFF ANY MORE RUST AS IT WOULD ACCELERATE FURTHER CORROSION. WAS ADVISED A WASTE OF TIME TO USE RUST REFORMER OR UNDERCOATING. I NOTICED THIS STATIONARY AS THE VEVICLE WAS MAKING SQUEAKING SOUNDS FROM THE REAR AXLE HUB ON DRIVER SIDE (SAME LINE THAT BLEW) AND FIGURED HANGING CALIPER SO I DID A FULL BRAKE PEDAL PRESS AND FELT THE PEDAL GET SPONGY AND DROP ANOTHER 1" TOWARD FLOOR. I OPENED DOOR, HUNG OUT LOOKING UNDER TRUCK AND PRESSED PEDAL AGAIN TO SEE FLUID POURING FROM REAR AXLE AREA. DROVE IT 30 MILES WITH NO SERVICE BRAKES TO GET TO THE GARAGE USING ONLY E-BRAKE AND 3,2,1 AND NEUTRAL RANGE OF TRANSMISSION TO BE ABLE TO STOP IF NEEDED. ALSO WAS ADVISED ABOUT FUEL TANK STRAP AND THAT I WOULD NEED A FLAME CUTTER TO CHANGE THE FUEL PUMP AS TRUCK BED BOLTS LOOKED HORRIBLE OR WOULD NEED TO CUT TANK STRAPS DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE TANK. THE "ANNUAL UNDERBODY WASH" MOST OWNERS MANUALS RECOMMEND IS INSUFFICIENT TO PREVENT THIS PROBLEM.
I FIRST OF ALL ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND NOTICED 2ND GEAR HAS GONE OUT IN IT SINCE I VERY RARELY WENT IN THE REVERSE IT DIDN'T NOTICE THAT TELL HER I WAS IN A PREDICAMENT AND HAD TO PUSH IT OUT AND NOW IT'S STUCK IN FIRST GEAR
BRAKE LINES RUSTD OUT. MAKING MY TRUCK LOOSE BRAKE FLUID AND HAD TO BE REPLACE,. SERIOUS PROBLEM, LUCKY I DID NO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. RUST ETC, ALL OVER THE REST OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM, VERY COSTLY, $$$$$, I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STREET SLOWLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE TRUCK, FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON, SHUT DOWN CAUSING ME TO LOOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKE CAPABILITY. I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN THE KEY OFF AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN TO RE-START THE TRUCK. IT HAS NOW HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND I HAVE DONE THE SAME THING EACH TIME TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IT HAPPENED ONCE IN 2002 THEN CONSTANTLY 4-5 TIMES A YEAR AND AGAIN TODAY. GM HAS TOLD ME IN THE PAST THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD CAUSE THAT ISSUE. I COULD NOT GET MY LOCAL CHEVROLET SHOP MANAGER TO GIVE ME A STRAIGHT YES OR NO ANSWER REGARDING WHETHER MY PROBLEM IS CONSISTENT WITH THE ISSUES BEING EXPERIENCED BY EFFECTED GM MODELS WITH IGNITION PROBLEMS. I BELIEVE IT MAY BE DUE TO THE RECALLED IGNITION SWITCHES AS I HAVE HAD THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM LOOKED AT AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIND AN ISSUE THAT WOULD CAUSE THE TRUCK TO SHUT OFF RANDOMLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THEN TURN RIGHT BACK OVER AFTER SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL!! I BELIEVE THAT THE CURRENT RECALL DOES NOT COVER ALL OF THE VEHICLES THAT ARE TRULY AFFECTED. I HAVE HAD MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED AND HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO NOT HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT TO THIS POINT.
ALL MY BRAKE LINES ARE CORRODED/RUSTING OUT. ONE LINE ALREADY HAD TO BE REPLACED. VERY DANGEROUS. ALL MY FUEL INES ARE STARTING TO CORRODE AND APPEAR TO REQUIRE REPLACEMENT SOON.
CHEVY RUST. BRAKE LINES RUSTED OUT COMPLETELY AND FAILED - HAPPEN AT SLOW SPEED NO ONE INJURED. SHACKLED BROKE OFF AND HIT BOTTOM OF BED WITHOUT TOWING. FRAME IS RUSTED OUT. NEIGHBOR HAS SIMILAR VEHICLE WITH SAME PROBLEMS (PUT JACK ON FRAME AND IT WENT THROUGH THE FRAME.) MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THESE VERY ISSUES.

ONE OF THE REAR BRAKES STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING.
DRIVING AT 55 MPH ON HWY 528 ABOUT 20 MILES EAST OF ORLANDO, THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THEN WE SUFFERED A CATASTROPHIC TREAD SEPARATION OF OUR REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. WE WERE TRAILERING A CAMPER AT THE TIME. BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE TRUCK TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY WE HAD SUSTAINED CLOSE TO $3000 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE FENDER AND WHEEL WELL. THIS WAS THE 2ND KUMHO LT 245/75 R16 OF THE SET THAT HAD A SEPARATION. THE FIRST ONE WE WERE ABLE TO SLOW DONE IN TIME TO PREVENT ANY DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE TIRES ONLY HAD 18000 MILES ON THEM AND INFLATION PRESSURES HAD BEEN CHECKED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE INCIDENT EACH TIME. AFTER CALLING KUMHO SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THE 1ST INCIDENT, THEY GAVE A 67 DOLLAR CREDIT ON THE TIRE. THE SECOND TIME THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED MY MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS. I HAVE NOW REPLACED AND KEPT THE REMAINING TIRES OF THE SET. I KEPT THEM HOPING THAT NHTSA WOULD TAKE THEM FOR TESTING. I FILED A COMPLAINT BY PHONE WITH NHTSA ON 11/3015 AND MEKO TOLD ME I WOULD BE RECEIVING FORMS IN THE MAIL TO COMPLETE THE COMPLAINT. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER 2 MONTHS, AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING FROM YOU! MY COMPLAINT # WAS 10807471. THESE ARE DANGEROUS FAULTY TIRES AND NEED TO BE RECALLED. SOMEONE NEEDS TO HOLD KUMHO RESPONSIBLE FRO THESE TIRES BEFORE MORE LIVES ARE LOST SECONDARY TO CATASTROPHIC SEPARATIONS.

SEEMS THAT BELOW 10 MPH ANTI LOCK KICKS IN ON DRY PAVEMENT AND MAKES TRUCK HARD TO STOP IN MOTION ON ROAD
WAS REPLACING BRAKE LINES AFTER A RUSTY LINE BROKE AND SEEN EXCESSIVE RUST ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRAME IN THE FRONT 1/4 OF PICKUP. THE FRAME HAS A LONG HOLE ON BOTTOM OF FRAME SPANING ABOUT 10 INCHES AND ABOVE THE SAME SECTION OF FRAME HAS A LONG RUSTED CRACK RUNNING PARALLEL WITH THE FRAME SPANING ABOUT 8 INCHES. THE REST OF THE FRAME LOOKS IN GOOD CONDITION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE ABS CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STEWART CHEVROLET (780 SERRAMONTE BLVD, COLMA, CA 94014) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED ABOUT AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEING REPAIRED PER THE RECALL. WHILE DRIVING THROUGH MY SUBDIVISION APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH AND PRESSING THE BRAKE, THE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN. I PUMPED THE PEDAL REPEATEDLY AND ONLY SLIGHT BRAKING ACTION COULD BE ACHIEVED. I WENT THROUGH THE SUBDIVISION JUST NARROWLY MISSING TWO CROSSING CARS AND KIDS THEN TURNED ONTO A NEARBY SIDE STREET. AFTER FINALLY GETTING THE VEHICLE TO STOP, I GOT OUT AND SAW A PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID FORMING A FEW FEET BEHIND THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL.
WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. NO WARNING OF ANY KIND. LUCKY FOR ME NO TRAFFIC WAS COMING.
I PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY AND PUT CAR IN PARK, LEFT ENGINE RUNNING. WENT TO DOOR OF RESIDENCE TO GET MY KIDS. KIDS WENT OUT TO THE CAR AND WERE YELLING FIRE! I SEEN THE INSIDE UP IN SMOKE. I REACHED INSIDE TO TURN ENGINE OFF. WE THEN STARTED POURING BUCKETS OF WATER INTO SEAT AND ON FLOOR AROUND THE SEAT TO TRY TO PREVENT SPREAD OF THE FIRE. I LUCKILY PUT THE FIRE OUT. FIRE DEPT UNHOOKED BATTERY AND REMOVED MELTED PLASTIC AROUND SEAT. IT SEEMS A WIRE SOMEHOW SHORTED OUT BENEATH SEAT AND CAUGHT THE SEAT AND FLOOR ON FIRE.
BRAKES FAILED COMPLETELY. AFTER I FELT THE BRAKE PEDEL WAS NOT RIGHT I BACKED THE TRUCK INTO THE FRONT YARD, AND WHEN I TRIED TO STOP THERE WAS NO PEDEL AND THE TRUCK KEPT GOING AND HIT A TREE, LAWN BENCH,MISC. OBJECTS, AND STOPPED AFTER HITTING S RETAINING WALL. I ESTIMATE SEVERAL THOUSAND DAMAGE DONE. I WAS TOLD THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED.
STARTED VEHICLE EARLY ONE MORNING FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT DAY, ALLOWED IT TO WARM UP FOR ABOUT ONE (1) MINUTE AND THEN PLACED IT INTO REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF DRIVEWAY. AFTER TRAVELING ABOUT SIX (6) FEET IN REVERSE ATTEMPTED TO STOP, PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE AT ALL AND VEHICLE STOPPED AFTER ABOUT SIX (6) FEET. THERE WAS A COMPLETE AND TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. NO PRIOR INDICATIONS, NO DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE I NOTICED A SMALL PUDDLE OF LIQUID ON THE GROUND NEAR THE REAR OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. AFTER HAVING VEHICLE TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE REPAIR SHOP THAT THE BRAKE LINES HAD COMPLETED CORRODED. TOTAL REPAIR SHOP COST TO REPLACE ALL BRAKE LINES WAS $810.36. THIS DID NOT INCLUDE THE COST OF THE TOW TRUCK TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR FACILITY. I AM THE FIRST AND ONLY OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. *TR
RECALL 05V379000 RELATED TO LOW SPEED ACTIVATION OF THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM WHILE MY VEHICLE IS OPERATED WAS PERFORMED IN 2006 ON MY VEHICLE. THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE AS LOW SPEED ACTIVATION OF THE ABS SYSTEM IS OCCURING NOW. I HAVE CONTACTED CHEVROLET CORPORATION (GMC) AND ASKED TO HAVE THE RECALL PROTOCOL PERFORMED AGAIN. THEY REFUSE. I SPOKE WITH KIMBERELY FROM NHTSA AND SHE ADVISED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT IF GMC REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT. PHONE CONFIRMATION # 868194
