THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

THE RECALL FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR IS OVER 2 YEARS OLD. I CALLED CHEVROLET AND THEY ARE STILL LISTING THIS RECALL AS INCOMPLETE AND NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL, SERVICE AIR BAGS WARNING IS ILLUMINATED WITH NO APPARENT REASON?
C1500 AT TIMES WHEN STOPPING WILL SHUT DOWN, ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD WILL LIGHT UP AND WHOLE TRUCK WILL SHAKE. TOOK TO CHEVY DEALER SHIP THEY SAID NEEDED NEW MOTOR.. ALREADY PUT TOP END OF MOTOR IN 1 1/2 YEARS AGO - SAME THING IS HAPPENING NOW BUT THEY SAY NEEDS NEW MOTOR. LET TRUCK SET FOR SEVERAL DAYS, CRANK IT AND IT SEEMS TO BE OK. BUT DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL DO IT AGAIN. IF NEEDED A NEW MOTOR IT WOULD NOT CRANK AND DRIVE. CHEV. DEALERSHIP WAS GOING TO CHARGE $6,000 FOR NEW MOTOR AND LABOR. AND OBVIOUSLY THAT IS NOT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. 08132018
THE PASENGER AIRBAG HAS A MESSAGE THAT IT WOULD NOT DEPLOY AND THE GARAGE SAYS IT IS A 900 $ FIX. SO FAR THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT.
FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HEAD LIGHT CONNECTOR MELTS AT CONNECTION TO THE BULB. HEADLIGHT WILL NOT WORK CAUSING MAJOR VISIBILITY ISSUES AND POSES A FIRE RISK. HAVE REPLACED CONNECTOR NOW 2 TIMES, SO HAVE HAD A TOTAL OF 3 CONNECTORS MELT. HEADLIGHT WORKED FINE AFTER REPLACEMENT THEN SHUT VEHICLE OFF FOR WORK DAY WHEN STARTED TO VEHICLE TO GO HOME HEADLIGHT NO LONGER WORKED.
TAKATA RECALL- GOT RECALL LETTER IN JULY 2016, ALWAYS CHECKING WEBSITE BUT NO HELP. DRIVERS AIRBAG STOPPED WORKING PER TRUCK COMPUTER. STILL NO HELP ON RECALL WEBSITE, SO CALLED CHEVOLET CUSTOMER PHONE NUMBER ON RECALL SHEET. BUT AGAIN NO HELP. TOLD THEM I NEED IT FIXED BECAUSE I SOMETIMES HAVE MY GRANDKIDS WITH ME. THE MAN [ED} SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE IT HASNT BEEN DETERMINED YET.
THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY I HAVE TO EVEN RESET MY MY TRUCK CLOCK WHEN THIS HAPPENS SO FAR IT HAS HAPPEN AFTER I SHUT IT OFF AND THEN WHEN I GO TO START IT NOTHING HAPPENS NO LIGHTS NO CLOCK NO STARTING OF ENGINE EVERYTHING IS DEAD!
TAKATA RECALL - THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER. IT HAS BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE THE ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED IN 2016, AND "A REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE". I LIVE IN A HOT AND HUMID REGION AND AM HIGHLY CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY RISK BROUGHT FORTH BY THIS SIGNIFICANT DELAY. AS GM HAS RECOMMENDED, I WILL BE REACHING OUT TO A SERVICE PROFESSIONAL, THOUGH A REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE.
DASH BROKEN AND CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES
TAKATA RECALL- CONTACTED GM AGAIN ABOUT AN ESTIMATED TIME FRAME FOR MY FAULTY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. THEY SAID THEY HAD NO CLUE AND ADVISED ME TO NOT HAVE ANYONE SIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I THEN CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURE DIRECTLY AND THE REP TELLS ME THAT IT HAS NOT BE PROVEN THAT THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS. I FEEL VERY UNEASY HAVING MY FAMILY IN THIS VEHICLE AND GM SEEMS TO HAVE TO PLAN OR TIME FRAME AS TO WHEN THEY CAN HELP ME.

I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE TO HAVE MY PASSENGER TAKATA AIR BAGS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE TRIED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, JUST TO BE DENIED A REPLACEMENT. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT I WOULD GET NOTIFIED, BUT IT HAS NOT HAPPENED FOR TWO YEARS.THIS RECALL HAS NOT BEEN REMEDY SINCE THE MAY 27, 2016 RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE PARKED, THE TRAILER HITCH DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TRAILER HITCH HAD SUSTAINED SEVERE RUSTING. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (KERRY CHEVROLET, 7800 ALEXANDRIA PIKE, ALEXANDRIA, KY) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE BOTH NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,500.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING MY TRUCK HAD WAS ON THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL LIST. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS NOT. ALSO THE DASHBOARD HAD A CRACK THAT HAS NOW DEVELOPED IN MISSING PIECES AND EXPOSING THE INSIDE OF THE DASH AND I AM WORRIED IT WILL AFFECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE AIRBAGS. IN DOING RESEARCH I SAW WHERE SEVERAL 2007-2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADOS AND TAHOES HAD BEE RECALLED FOR CRACKING DASHBOARD. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SHARP PLASTIC FLYING OUT FROM DASH. PHOTO ATTACHED.
CRACKED DASH. READ THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN CHEVROLET'S OF THIS TIME FRAME. DASH HAS NEVER HAD ANYTHING THROWN, BOUNCED, SET, ETC ON IT. NO REASON FOR THIS OTHER THAN POOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION.
TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE JULY 2016. - SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD TO GET MY AIR BAGS SERVICED ONCE ON MY TRUCK DUE TO THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT COMING ON THE DASHBOARD - VERY EXPENSIVE- $665 AND DEALER SAYS IT IS NOT DUE TO THE RECALL. GM WEBSITE TO THIS DATE 5-21-18 SAYS A REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. PRIOR TO THE RECALL I HAD TO GET THE AIR BAGS SERVICED ON 9-10-15. ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE. $583

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE REPEATEDLY FOLLOWED UP ON THE TAKATA RECALL FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS SINCE ADVISED OF THE AIR BAG PROBLEMS BUT WITH NO RESULTS TOWARDS A RESOLUTION. 2 YEARS FOR ACTION IS UNREASONABLE AND ALL MY PASSENGERS HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO DANGER OF INJURY OR DEATH DURING THAT TIME. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. IF YOU CANT FIX THE AIR BAG PROBLEM THEN PROVIDE SERVICE TO DISCONNECT THE AIR BAGS. I WOULD RATHER TAKE MY CHANCES WITH NO AIR BAGS. I NEED A REMEDY IMMEDIATELY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR IMPACT. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A CONSTRUCTION DIVIDER WALL. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY WHEN THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DIVIDER WALL. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT AND THE DRIVER OF THE SECOND VEHICLE WERE INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN JUNK YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. I RAN OUT OF FUEL WHILE THE GUAGE WAS READING 1/4 TANK WITH 100 MILE RANGE. AFTER FUELING THE GUAGE DID NOT SHOW PROPER LEVELS.

WAS DRIVING AND LOST ACCELATTOR SPEED CONTROL THE TRUCK WOULD NOT GO AND THEN I GOT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TURN THE VEHICLE OFF FOR A WHILE AND THEN GAIN ACCELATOR SPEED CONTROL AGAIN.

I CALLED GM ON AUGUST 16, 2016 AND RECEIVED REFERENCE # 8-2305780209 SAYING "NO PROGRESS ON REPAIRS,YET" I CALLED GM AGAIN ON JANUARY 9, 2017 AND RECEIVED REFERENCE # 8-2652079164 WITH THE SAME RESPONSE OF "NO PROGRESS ON REPAIRS, YET" I ALSO CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED MY TRUCK FROM, (ORIGINALLY. IT WAS MARK HEITZ CHEVROLET), THEN DAVID STANLEY CHEVROLET, AND NOW LANDERS CHEVROLET. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGERS OF BOTH STANLEY AND LANDERS, AND THE LAST RESPONSE FROM LANDERS SERVICE MANAGER WAS THAT THERE WE "NO PARTS YET. NO PROSPECTS FOR WHEN THEY (REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS) MAY BE SHIPPED." LET ME NOW BEGIN TO TELL YOU MY CONCERNS, SINCE I RECEIVED MY ORIGINAL NOTICE FROM GM IN AUGUST, 2016, TAKATA HAS FILED FOR CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY ON JUNE 25, 2017. THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP WHICH SOLD ME MY PICKUP TRUCK, HEITZ CHEVROLET, HAS SUBSEQUENTLY SOLD TWICE--TO DAVID STANLEY CHEVROLET, AND NOW, TO LANDERS CHEVROLET. I AM BEGINNING TO THINK OF A CONSPIRACY. DID TAKATA ADVISE GM OF A POTENTIAL PROBLEM THAT GM SUBSEQUENTLY ADVISED THEIR VARIOUS DEALERSHIPS OF REGARDING TAKATA AIR BAGS?
