FRAME BEAMING ON THE 2007 X TRA CAB CLASSIC TRUCK. GENERAL MOTORS CAMPAIGN #PIT3009J. THE PROBLEM IS SO BAD THAT IT SHAKES THE SEAT SO VIOLENTLY THAT IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD TO DRIVE AROUND. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY TRUCK FOR TWO YEARS NOW AS MY DAILY DRIVER. THE FRAME SHAKES SO BAD ON THE FREEWAY THAT IT HAS CAUSED ME BACK STRAINS AND NECK PAIN WHEN DRIVING FOR OVER AN HOUR. I HAVE BEEN TO AMERICAS TIRE MANY TIMES THINKING IT WAS A TIRE PROBLEM THEY HAVE REBALANCED THE TIRES AND EVEN REPLACED THE WHOLE SET WITH ANOTHER BRAND WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. AFTER MY RECENT MRI FROM BACK PAIN I BELIEVE THAT DRIVING THIS TRUCK IS FULLY TO BLAME FOR MY PAIN. TWO YEARS BEFORE I HAD A CLEAN CT SCAN WITH JUST A SLIGHT DISC BULGE, NOW ALL MY DISCS ARE SMASHED KNOWN AS SCHMOR'LS DEPRESSIONS CAUSED FROM THE REPEATED UP AND DOWN BEATING ON MY SPINE FROM DRIVING THIS SILVERADO FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS UP AND DOWN THE CALIFORNIA FREEWAYS. THERE ARE TIMES IT SHAKES SO BAD I FEEL I AM GOING TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. I WANT GENERAL MOTORS TO KNOW HOW SERIOUS OF A PROBLEM THIS IS, MORE THAN A SHAKE IT IS BEATING PEOPLE LIKE ME TO DEATH AND IS A SERIOUS HEALTH RISK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO USE THE SEAT BELT, THE LOCKING MECHANISM/LATCH RECEPTOR FRACTURED AND COULD NOT FASTEN. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RECEPTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS INFORMED BY GM IN JULY OF 2016 THAT THERE COULD BE A RECAL ON MY AIRBAGS. SINCE JULY I HAVE RECEIVED NO FURTHER INFORMATION FROM GM. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I CALLED THEM (12/6/16 TO BE TOLD THAT MY AIRBAGS ARE OK AND IT IS SAFE. WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED BY THEM EARLIER THAT THEY WERE OK AND OF NO DANGER THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM TAKING MONEY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PURCHASED BUT AFTER THAT THE COULDNT CARE LESS ABOUT IT.
BRAKE LINES RUSTED, RESULTING IN LOSS OF BRAKES. BRAKE LINE RUNNING FROM ABS UNIT TO REAR BRAKES RUSTED AND BLEW OUT RIGHT OVER THE READ DIFFERENTIAL. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE BRAKE LINE BUST.
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WOULD NOT START AGAIN. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE, THIS ISSUE HAD BEEN ADDRESSED IN BULLETIN NO: 14514B, BUT IT WAS LABELED AS "VIN SPECIFIC" BECAUSE MY VIN DOES NOT FALL INTO THIS SPECIFIC RANGE THERE WAS NO RECALL ISSUED EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE I EXPERIENCED IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. *TR
THE TRUCK IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND HAS BEEN WELL-MAINTAINED. AT 127,000 THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A NOISE DIAGNOSED AS LIFTER NOISE. WITHIN A HUNDRED MILES OR SO, WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, IT STARTED TO MAKE A VERY LOUD NOISE, AND AGAIN DIAGNOSED AS LIFTERS ON AT LEAST 2 CYLINDERS NEEDING REPLACED. UPON THE ADVICE OF A 25+ YEAR GM MECHANIC I WILL BE REPLACING THE MOTOR AS THIS IS MOST COST EFFECTIVE AS WELL AS BUYING A PROGRAM CHIP TO BYPASS THE "ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT" WHICH HAS CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THIS WAS ALSO RECOMMENDED AS GM HAS NOT ALTERED ANYTHING ENGINEERING WISE TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING ON A BRAND NEW MOTOR THAT WOULD BE PURCHASED FROM THEM. *TR

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016 AND HAVE RECEIVED NO CORRESPONDENCE SINCE. BY PHONE AN NHTSA CORRESPONDENT ADVISED THAT 60 DAYS WAS A TIMELY MANNER TO RECEIVE NOTICE OF A FIX FOR THIS RECALL.
I AM A FIRE INVESTIGATOR LOOKING INTO A FIRE THAT STARTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BEHIND THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. FIRE AND BURN PATTERNS ARE LOCALIZED TO THIS AREA AND WERE EXTINGUISHED BY THE VEHICLE OPERATOR. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED AND THE OWNER HAD IT FOR FOUR DAYS. WHILE DRIVING ALONG THE INTERSTATE HE SMELLED AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM PASSENGER SIDE FROM UNDER THE DASH. HE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DROPLETS FOR FIRE WAS FALLING TO THE CARPET. HE USED A BOTTLE OF GATOR-AIDE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. HE HAD DRIVEN THE TRUCK LESS THE 400 MILES SINCE HE PURCHASED IT. *TR
THERE'S BEEN A RECALL ON MY AIRBAGS SINCE 2016 AND STILL HAVE YET TO BE FIXED. DEALER SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS FOR IT. I HAVE A WIFE AND THREE KIDS TO LOOK OUT FOR. WHAT WILL BE DONE TO FIX THIS ISSUE?
WHILE DRIVING AROUND 40MPH THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT UNBUCKLED ON ITS OWN. NOW IT DOESN'T ALWAYS IMMEDIATELY LATCH, OCCASIONALLY TAKES TWO OR MORE TRIES TO GET IT TO "CLICK." *TR

MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKING AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ABOVE ODOMETER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, A WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH GM VEHICLES. I AM WAITING FOR THE DAY WHEN MY AIRBAG DEPLOYS AND I OR A LOVE ONE GETS IMPALED WITH A PIECE OF THAT DEFECTIVE PLASTIC. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS HURT.
THE DASH HAS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES ONE BEING RIGHT AGAINST THE AIR BAG SO IF IT DEPLOYS THAT PART OF THE DASH COULD HURT SOMEONE ITS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN
I REC'D A NOTICE FROM GM STATING THAT A RECALL OCCURRED ON MY AIRBAG AND THAT WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE, THIS WOULD BE REPLACED. AFTER MONTHS WITH NO UPDATE, I CALLED GM ON 11OCT2016. I WAS TOLD THEN THAT THE RECALL WASN'T APPLICABLE TO MY AIRBAG AND "THEY DON'T FEEL THAT THIS POSES A THREAT." NO OTHER NOTICE WAS SENT TO ME WITH THIS INFORMATION. I ALSO OWN ANOTHER MAKE VEHICLE WHERE THE SAME AIRBAG IS BEING REPLACED. THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE US. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY TRUCK BECAUSE OF THIS RECALL AND WOULD LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT GM'S LACK OF INFORMATION AND ACTION TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE.

MY DASH HAS CRACKED NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I HAD IT REPLACED 2 YEARS AGO FOR THE SAME CRACK AND NOW THE NEW ONE IS CRACKED.
I AM A U.S. CITIZEN EFFECTED BY THE TAKATA RECALL. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CHEVY FOR TWO YEARS NOW BECAUSE I NOW AM MARRIED TO A CANADIAN AND TWO YEARS AGO (DAYS AFTER THE RECALL WAS ISSUED) I BEGAN THE PROCESS TO IMPORT MY TRUCK INTO CANADA. CANADA HAS HIGHER SAFETY STANDARDS THAN THE US ON IMPORTED VEHICLES AND SO - UNTIL MY AIRBAG IS FIXED - THEY WON'T LET ME COMPLETE THE RECALL PROCESS. SO FOR TWO YEARS I'VE BEEN WALKING AND TAKING THE BUS - EVEN MUCH OF THE TIME WHILE I WAS PREGNANT AND COULDN'T GET RIDES IN THE WINTER. WELL I NOW HAVE A NEWBORN DAUGHTER THAT I'M GONNA EITHER HAVE TO PUSH AROUND IN THE SNOW OR STAY AT HOME THE ENTIRE WINTER? I'M BEYOND ANGRY AT THE UNFAIRNESS OF THE SITUATION. I'VE CALLED BOTH CHEVY US AND CANADA FOR TWO YEARS AND THEY DON'T CARE AND WON'T HELP. TAKATA AIRBAG. GOT RECALL LETTER FOR AIRBAG RECALL AND CALLED GM. GM INFORMED ME THAT THEY DO NOT CONSIDER THIS AIRBAG A PROBLEM AND AT THIS TIME THEY HAVE NO PLANS TO FIX THE ISSUE! I WASN'T HAPPY WITH THEIR ANSWER SO I CALLED NHTSA FOR THEIR OPINION. I GAVE THE PERSON AT NHTSA THE RECALL NUMBER AND VIN NUMBER AND I WAS INFORMED THAT I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS FIXED.. WHO IS CORRECT IN THIS ISSUE? IS GM WAITING UNTIL UNTIL THE BODY COUNT IS SO HIGH THEY CAN'T IGNORE THE ISSUE?

MY SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING IS ON. THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE NEVER INDICATES ON,
TAKATA RECALL- RECALL ISSUED OVER A YEAR AGO, I HAVE RECEIVED NO CONTACT REGARDING A REMEDY. AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR IS CONSTANTLY ON. I FEEL THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I CANNOT SELL IT AS IS WITHOUT A SUBSTANTIAL LOSS.
I HAD TO RE DO MY TRANSMISSION TWICE ALREADY. MY CHEVY IS AT 165K MILES... ALSO MY FRONT LEFT PARKING LIGHTS SEEMS TO GO OUT EVERY ONES IN A WHILE..
TAKATA RECALL THEY SAY THIS RECALL HURTS NOBODY AND THAT THE TRUCK IS STILL DRIVEABLE IN ALL CASES. IT'S UNTRUE. IN FACT I'VE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR OVER 2.5 YEARS. IMPOSSIBLE YOU SAY? WELL, SINCE THE TAG EXPIRED IN AUGUST 2016 IT HAS BEEN BLACKLISTED BY THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT AS A HAZARD DUE TO THE SAFETY RECALL. BECAUSE I WAS IMPORTING MY CAR INTO CANADA DURING THE START OF THIS FIASCO. IT IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE TAGGED AND IS NOW NOT LEGAL TO BE USED. I'M AN AMERICAN CITIZEN WHO IS MARRIED AND LIVES AND WORKS IN CANADA, WITH A CHILD. IT'S REALLY HURT ME, FINANCIALLY - I'VE HAD TO BUY BUS PASSES, AND PAY FOR PARKING AND INSURANCE FOR A CAR THAT CANNOT BE USED. MY TIRES ARE DRY ROTTING OFF AND NEW ONES WILL HAVE TO BE PURCHASED WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO USE THE VIABLE TREAD I HAD LEFT. ALL THE MISSED FAMILY MOMENT WITH MY HUSBAND RIDING BIKE TRAILS, WHICH WE CAN NO LONGER DRIVE TO AS WE DON'T HAVE TRANSPORTATION FOR OUR BIKES. I HOPE THEY DO A NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY ON THIS.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS ORIGINALLY INFORMED IN JULY 2016 THAT MY TRUCK WAS ON THE RECALL LIST FOR TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. I WAS THEN SENT ANOTHER LETTER IN OCTOBER 2017. AS OF TODAY, I HAVE CALLED ALL PHONE NUMBERS PROVIDED ON LETTERS RECEIVED AND HAVE CALLED A LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP (MORE THAN ONCE) AND KEEP GETTING TOLD THAT MY PART IS NOT AVAILABLE YET. HOW AM I TO GET MY TRUCK FIXED WHEN I AM CONSTANTLY TOLD THAT THE PART IS NOT IN YET, BUT 3 MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY HAVE HAD THEIR AIRBAGS REPLACED.

I ENTERED MY TRUCK AND FOUND A CRACK IN MY DASH RUNNING FROM THE VENTS ALL THE WAY OVER MY INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE NEXT DAY, MY AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON TELLING ME THEY NEEDED SERVICING. YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING OVER SOME POT HOLES IN A ROAD AND A BIG CHUNK OF MY DASH CRACKED AND JUMPED OUT ONTO MY DASH. AFTER GETTING HOME, I SEE THERE IS ANOTHER CRACK ON MY DASH. BEFORE CALLING A DEALER, SEARCHED TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. I FOUND THE CRACK AND THE SENSOR WERE RELATED AND OTHER HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND NO RECALL YET. WHAT?? THAT CHUNK THAT FLEW OUT IS AS SHARP AS A RAZOR. IT COULD HAVE CUT ME OR LANDED IN MY EYE CAUSING INJURY. HOW CAN I DRIVE THE CAR KNOWING THE WHOLE DASH COULD SHATTER AT ANY TIME? I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX THIS ISSUE. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY GM!!
